Chapter 23: 23. Brother Dung
"Puff!"
Ronald coughed lightly to keep from laughing.
Draco Malfoy's face darkened as he looked at Ronald and said, "Is my name funny?"
In English, "Draco" means "dragon." If Malfoy's name were translated into Chinese, it might sound like Long Aotian, Li Hongjun, Du Liudao, or Chen Nitian. It's similar to taking names from online novels and using them in real life, which seems a bit childish.
Especially with the last name "Malfoy," which means "evil" or "sin." Ivan couldn't help but wonder how brave old Malfoy must be to name his child something like "evil dragon."
Ivan preferred to call him "Dragen," just for fun.
"No need to ask who you are."
While Ivan was thinking, Malfoy had already started to insult them. "My father told me that all the Weasleys have red hair, freckles, and too many kids to take care of."
"You'll soon see that some wizard families are much better than others, Potter."
Malfoy then turned to Harry. "You don't want to be friends with people who are different, do you?"
Ivan thought that Malfoy was probably just jealous.
Although the Weasleys were considered traitors to pure-blood families, they had a lot of children. Almost ten wizards in one family? How did they manage that?
Even if the Weasleys were poor, their ability to have so many kids must make other pure-blood families envious.
"I can help you with this."
Ignoring everyone around him, Malfoy reached out to Harry, but Harry didn't take his hand. "I think I can tell who is different myself, thanks."
Malfoy's pale cheeks didn't turn red, but he had a faint blush on his face.
Watching this scene, Ivan could guess what Malfoy was thinking.
He probably came to make friends with Harry, but he didn't know how to interact with others and came off as rude.
In Ivan's words, Malfoy was acting like a "tsundere." He clearly wanted to be friends but pretended to be superior, as if being friends with him was a privilege for Harry.
So, feeling angry and embarrassed, Malfoy ignored his father's advice.
"If I were you, Potter, I would be especially careful."
Malfoy spoke slowly. "You should be polite, or you might end up like your parents."
"If you hang out with people like the Weasleys or Hagrid, you'll be affected too."
Harry and Ronald stood up, and Ronald's face turned as red as his hair.
"Say that again!"
Ronald couldn't take Malfoy's insults, especially when they involved his family and their background.
He clenched his fists, wishing he could punch Malfoy.
"Oh, so you want to fight?"
Malfoy sneered. He didn't care about the anger of the two boys. His father was the director of Hogwarts, and he was the heir of the Malfoy family.
Even if Harry Potter was famous, so what?
Others might see Harry as a hero, but the Malfoy family was loyal to the Dark Lord.
To be honest, Harry didn't bring any benefits to the Malfoy family; he ruined their plans with Voldemort.
At this point, Malfoy didn't realize how dangerous Voldemort was or how humble the Malfoy family had become. He only thought that being a Death Eater was cool, and he admired his father, who was once the Dark Lord's right-hand man.
"Get out right now! You're not welcome here!"
Although Harry was a bit scared—he had never fought anyone before and had often been bullied as a child—he still tried to stand up for himself.
Deep down, Harry wasn't as brave as he appeared, especially with Crabbe and Goyle next to Malfoy. Those two were much bigger than he and Ronald.
"Are you ordering me?" Malfoy challenged. "Why? We're not afraid of the legendary savior."
Malfoy was ready to teach Harry a lesson and noticed the snacks in the carriage. "We've eaten all our food, but you seem to have some here."
Just then, Goyle quickly reached out to grab a chocolate frog from Ronald.
Seeing this, Hermione could no longer hold back her anger and prepared to step in to defend Harry.
Hermione had watched everything unfold and knew that Malfoy was the one picking a fight.
Harry hadn't done anything wrong, and neither had Ronald. No one could stand being humiliated for no reason.
"Are you going to fight them?" Ivan asked Hermione curiously.
The little witch looked back at him, surprised. "How can we fight? That's wrong!"
Well, Hermione was a good person. She wanted to stop the fight and believed that fighting was bad.
But before she could intervene, Ronald suddenly jumped forward.
"Ah!!"
In the next moment, Goyle screamed.
Ronald was confused, thinking he hadn't touched Goyle at all.
When they looked up, they saw a fat rat hanging from Goyle's finger. It was Ronald's pet rat, Scabbers.
The rat's sharp little teeth had bitten deeply into Goyle's flesh.
Goyle screamed and waved his hands, trying to shake off Scabbers.
Crabbe and Malfoy stepped back in fear at the sight.
"Peter Pettigrew…"
Ivan narrowed his eyes slightly but quickly returned to normal. 'Forget it, it's not my problem. I don't need to get involved right now.'
However, even though Ivan didn't want to be part of the trouble, that didn't mean others wouldn't notice him.
"Is it funny?"
Malfoy suddenly turned his head and glared at Hermione.
The little witch was startled and realized that her silent laughter had been rude.
But the truth was, Malfoy and his friends had started this by provoking Harry, and now they were scared of a rat. That surprised Hermione, who had high hopes for those pure-blood wizards.
"Sorry, we didn't mean to laugh at you," Ivan said as he stepped in front of Hermione. He looked at Harry and Ronald in the carriage and introduced himself. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Harry Potter. I am Ivan Ambrosius."
Compared to Malfoy's arrogance, Harry had a much better impression of Ivan.
"Hello."
Harry reached out his hand and shook Ivan's, which made Malfoy very unhappy.
They had both come to make friends, but Harry's attitude toward Ivan was so different.
What bothered Malfoy the most was that, even while he was still there, Ivan seemed to ignore him and started talking to Harry instead.
