Harry Potter: The Lightning King

"I have a few start-of-term to announcements. The first years please note, the Dark Forest is strictly forbidden to all student" then Dumbledore gave Harry a small wink "also our caretaker Mr Filch, want to remind every not to enter the third-floor corridor. For those who doesn't want to die the most painful death, I recommend avoiding it. Finally, those who wish to take Mr Potter challenge, must have a professor present for their safety. Thank you"

Some senior students scoffed and snickered. Then one of Slytherin's senior student stood up and ask, "can we try it now?"

"He only challenged Gryffindor's house," said McGonagall.

"No, it's fine he can give it a try but be careful my magic is kind of hard to deal with," said Harry

"You are only a first year. Let me give it a try" the senior student walk up to the sword and reaches out for it.

"BE CAFEFUL" shout Dumbledore but it was too late.

When the senior student was about to touch the sword, the senior saw a spark of electricity zap towards his finger and then he lost control of his body. The senior student body start convulsing as he feels 50,000 volts of electricity coercing through his body.

Dumbledore cast a knocked back spell on the student to separate the student from the sword. The student flew back and land on the ground. Some of the senior student friend rush up to help him up as he regains consciousness. The senior student look at Harry with horror because he felt Harry's power and knows he would had die if he was a lone.

"Are you done embarrassing yourself? Return to your seat before you shame Slytherin even more" said Snape making the students scrambled back to their seat.

"I will warn everyone once again if anybody want to accept Mr Potter challenge, please make sure there is a professor present" said Dumbledore making the hall quiet. After the moment of silence Dumbledore announced "all right everyone let the feast begin"

Then food appeared in front of everybody tables. Everyone at starting eating but everyone from Gryffindor's table was making a ruckus. Some people were admiring Harry, other students want to challenge Harry, but most student feared Harry.

"Harry, I don't think it's a smart choice to challenge you," said Hermione.

"Come on, it can't be that bad," said Ron.

"Even after you pulled out the sword you still have to dual Harry," said Hermione.

"It's alright, my dad won second place in the All-England Wizarding Dueling Competition. I have been practicing with him since I was 5" said a senior student from Gryffindor.

"Is your father better than Professor Dumbledore?" Ask Hermione.

"No, but what does Professor Dumbledore have to do with anything?" Ask the senior student.

"He is Dumbledore student" said Hermione making everyone quiet.

"It makes sense since Harry was dueling Snape last year and he manage to keep up. He probably been training with Professor Dumbledore and then spar with Professor Snape," said George.

Everyone who heard Hermione was shocked. Some students who thought they might have a chance gave up on the idea after hearing the news.

When the student was eating, some ghost came out to prank some of the first years, but they all avoided Gryffindor's table. Suddenly, Nearly Headless Nick walk over to Harry and salute him "young king, the knight and I are excited to see your performance during this trial"

"Thanks Nick but why are you guys excited?" ask Harry.

"All I can tell you is our fate is in your hands" said Nick making Harry nod.

"How was your summer Sir Nick?" Ask Percy.

"It seems like my request to join the Headless Hunt, was deny" said Nick disappointedly

"Hey, I know you, you are Nearly Headless Nick," said Ron.

"I prefer to be call Sir Nick," said Nick

"Why do they call you Nearly Headless Nick?" Ask Hermione.

Nick demonstrates why people call him Nearly Headless Nick by pulling his head to the side revealing an almost decapitated head. After seeing what Nick did, everyone lost their appetite. Nick was about to leave but was stop by Harry.

"Do you want to be completely headless?" Ask Harry "I can help but you have to be loyal to me"

"Can you really help me?" Ask Nick

"Sure, should be simple for me but I need you to be angry first," said Harry.

"Why?" Questioned Nick

"Just trust me, I promise it will benefit you," said Harry

"Sure, but I have no reason be upset or mad," said Nick.

"What if we keep calling you Nearly Headless Nick, will that work?" Ask Hermione

"I do hate that name," said Nick.

"NEARLY HEADLESS NICK" chant Ron follow by his brother.

"NEARLY HEADLESS NICK" chant Gryffindor's table then some chanting came from other tables.

Hearing everyone chants his name, Nick become frustrated and mad. He thought about the days before he was executed and become angrier.

Seeing Nick hitting the right rage level, Harry took out his Zanpakuto and slash at Nick's neck. After cutting Nick, black aura leaked out of Nick's headless body and Nick's head had an angry face. All the ghosts stop what they were doing and watch the scene.

"Harry, what is happening to him?" Ask Hermione

"Just keep watching," said Harry.

Some black auras that leaking out of Nick's body was absorbed by Nick's head and while some of the aura gather around his body forming a dark armor with a sword on his waist. After the aura disappeared, everyone can see that Nick soul body become a real body again and he released a cold aura. Then he walks over to his head making clanging noise due to his full body armor. When nick pick up his head, he didn't return it to the original position but held it up.

"How does it feel to be a Headless ghost now?" Ask Ron

"He is not a ghost anymore," said Harry

"Yes, I have become a Dullahan" said Nick and he saluted "thank you Mr Potter, I will swear my loyalty to you"

The ghosts gather around Harry after they seen what Harry have done.

"Mr Potter, can you change us as well?"

"We swear to follow you even if you fail the trial"

More and more ghost gathered and surrounded Harry. Gryffindor's tables were later surrounded by ghost. Nick saw Harry distressed and pull out his sword. The head he was holding start to light up and then his sword brush into flame, scaring the ghosts back.

"Stay away from my lord," said Nick as he points his sword at the ghosts.
