Haikyuu - I Am A Different Hinata!

Chapter 51: Chapter 51 - VS Seijoh (Part 3)

After Tsukishima's point, it was Tanaka's turn to serve towards Seijoh's court, targeting Iwaizumi.

"Leave it to me!" Iwaizumi said.

"Nice receive, Iwa-chan!" Oikawa said.

"It's yours, Makki!" Oikawa called while setting for Hanamaki in position four. After jumping, Hanamaki spiked between Tsukishima and Kageyama's block, sending the ball towards the back of Karasuno's court.

"Daichi-san!" Tanaka shouted, watching the ball pass beside Daichi.

"It's mine!" Daichi yelled, moving to receive.

"Ah, it's too short!" Daichi observed, seeing the ball land near the court's dividing line.

Kageyama then moved to where the ball would fall and, with absolute precision, gave a slight touch so the ball would reach the back of the court without going over the defenders. After Kageyama's genius set, the ball flew towards Hinata, who made his powerful jump and spiked over the triple block, seeming like a replay of the previous back-court attack but now with Kageyama's brilliant set.

BOOM! The ball hit the ground violently.

"There it is, the number ten's powerful back-court attack!" a guy in the stands said.

"Wow, this play is so satisfying to watch!" another person said.

"Of course people will focus on the Karasuno first-year's jump and spike, but the most impressive part of the play is Kageyama's set. If he had put a bit more force into the ball, he could have easily ruined the play. He had to calculate the touch exactly - a monster!" Irihata said.

"Still, the number ten's jump and spike power always impresses me. Without a doubt, they are a pair of prodigies!" Mizoguchi said.

After Karasuno's point, Tanaka serves again and is well received by the opposing libero, who passes to Oikawa.

"We can't let our first-year dominate us like this... get this one, Iwa-Chan!" Oikawa said, setting for a back-court attack for Iwaizumi. Iwaizumi jumped his best and received a double block from Tsukishima and Kageyama but skillfully hit the ball on Kageyama's fingertips, sending it out at the back of the court.

The game was 18-14 when Oikawa returned to the serving position.

"HEY! BRING IT ON! I'M READY!" Nishinoya shouted, confident he could stop Oikawa's serves after tirelessly practicing receives against Hinata's serve.

"If you think I'm going to send my serve to you... you're very mistaken, shorty!" Oikawa yelled, taking a deep breath and serving towards Tanaka. Tanaka tried to receive, but the ball hit his fist and flew back to Aoba Johsai's court.

"Free ball!" Oikawa called while watching Kindaichi receive.

"Kunimi-chan," Oikawa said, performing a quick attack for Kunimi, who was already running to jump. He successfully made a cross-court attack that hit Karasuno's floor.

"Ryu, next time do what Tsukishima did and take a step back, and I'll stop it!" Nishinoya whispered in Tanaka's ear. Tanaka nodded in agreement.

Oikawa served again, aiming at Tanaka, who did as Nishinoya suggested and stepped back.

"ROLLING THUNDER!" Nishinoya shouted while receiving the serve.

"Nice receive, Nishinoya," Kageyama said, preparing to set and noticing Hinata raising his arm in position four.

"Hinata!" Kageyama called, performing a quick attack with Hinata, who observed a triple block forming. He waited for the ball to pass his right hand and reach the angle to attack with his left hand, which was free due to Seijoh's block not anticipating the sudden change.

"Right! Now he's used the last weapon in his arsenal..." Ukai said, watching Hinata score a free point with his left hand.

"Looks like your left-hand spikes are stronger than ever!" Daichi said.

"Seems like I'm finally getting the hang of it!" Hinata responded.

"I knew it..." Oikawa thought, signaling a timeout to Irihata, who instantly called it.

"Everyone, from now on, Hinata will be switching between using both hands, so we need to be extremely alert, especially when we're in the air," Oikawa warned.

"Got it!" everyone shouted in unison.

"Looks like they'll be watching Hinata now... but it's not easy to get used to. Even Date Tech needed to lose some points to adjust," Ukai said.

"Okay, try to concentrate attacks on Hinata until the end of the set... and Hinata, try to mess with them as much as possible with your left hand!" Ukai said.

"Got it!" everyone said in unison.

After the timeout, Karasuno did as Ukai asked and concentrated attacks on Hinata, who managed to win most block battles by switching between left and right hands, closing the set 25-17.

"Yes! We got the first one!" Hinata celebrated.

"That final stretch was incredible - no one could stop you, Hinata!" Nishinoya said happily.

"Did you see that handsome guy's face? He was anguished, HAHA!" Tanaka celebrated.

"Damn! Even the ball's rotation changes when he uses his left hand, making receives difficult," Watari said on the bench while drinking water.

"That's fine. It's just a matter of time before we get used to it. In the next set, trust me, I'll make the best sets and we'll win!" Oikawa said.

"Yes, but remember what we discussed before - aside from Hinata, the other attacks aren't anything extraordinary, so we need to take advantage of blocks to score points," Irihata said.

"Great job, everyone. We won the first set, which is a big step. You're doing well, just keep going like this and you'll be fine. But remember to stay focused until the end!" Ukai said.

"Got it!" they all shouted in unison.
