Haikyuu - I Am A Different Hinata!

Chapter 50: Chapter 50 - VS Seijoh (Part 2)

After Seijoh's point, it was Matsukawa's turn to serve towards Tsukishima, who positioned himself to receive.

"It's mine..." Tsukishima said while receiving and directing the pass to Kageyama.

"Nice receive!" Kageyama called out as he positioned himself under the ball and noticed Oikawa's analyzing gaze, trying to determine his attack.

"Here!" Hinata shouted to Kageyama.

"Got it!" Kageyama responded, setting the ball for Hinata, who was at the back of the court. He then jumped and flew towards the ball coming his way.

"We're gonna stop this!" Oikawa said, jumping along with Kindaichi to try and block Hinata, who was much higher than they expected.

"What's with this guy! Why does he jump so high?" Oikawa wondered to himself, watching Hinata's spike pass over his hand without even touching his fingers.

"BAM!" The sound of the ball impacting the ground after Hinata's attack echoed through the stadium.

"Wow! Did you see how high he jumped?!" said an excited guy in the crowd.

"Yes! He jumps incredibly high!" another crowd member replied.

"What a beautiful point, Hinata," Daichi praised.

"Do you have springs in your feet?!" Tanaka asked.

Now it was Kageyama's turn to serve. He prepared, took a deep breath, tossed the ball up, and then served towards Kunimi.

"I'll stop this!" Kunimi said as the ball hit his arms and flew to the other side of the court.

"Sorry, cover me!" Kunimi said.

"Makki!" Oikawa called out, raising his arms.

"Got it!" Hanamaki thought, watching the ball come his way. He positioned himself underneath and set the ball for Oikawa, who was in position two.

"Beautiful set!" Oikawa said as he observed Daichi and Asahi's block forming in front of him. He skillfully performed an over-the-line attack that surprised the two blockers and hit the Karasuno court floor before Hinata could dive to prevent it.

"Oikawa is really skillful when attacking, isn't he?" Takeda said after watching Aoba Johsai's last attack.

"Yes, that's why he's known as one of the most, if not the most complete player in the prefecture. I'd risk saying he's the best spiker on his team, even though he's a setter!" Ukai replied.

"My bad, I should have reacted a bit faster..." Hinata said.

"It was a good spike, but next time we'll stop him," Daichi said before hearing female voices from the stands.

"Oikawa-senpai!"

"Oikawa-senpai!"

"Hello, girls!" Oikawa said, picking up the ball and moving to the serving position.

"Let's go! We have to stop him!" Daichi shouted.

Oikawa performed his ritual, holding the ball with one hand, placing it in front of him, then tossing it up and making a big jump before hitting the ball forcefully towards Tsukishima, who felt the ball hitting his wrists and flying away.

"Tsk!" Tsukishima grunted, realizing Oikawa would focus on him again.

Oikawa served again, aiming at Tsukishima, who once more failed to receive.

"If we can't stop that guy's serve, we're going to have a tough time in this game!" Takinoue complained, watching Oikawa's second consecutive point.

"We knew from the start this match would be like this... we have to believe in them!" Shimada responded, clenching his fist.

"Currently, we have Tsukishima, who still doesn't have a reliable receive, Kageyama who can't receive, and Hinata on defense. I'm not sure if this is a good formation to stop Oikawa's serves," Takeda said anxiously.

"Takeda-sensei, I think maybe because he's shown himself to be a monster, you've forgotten that Hinata is very reliable in receives!" Ukai said, looking at Hinata.

After taking a deep breath, Oikawa jumps and serves again, aiming at Tsukishima. As Tsukishima watches the ball approaching, he notices Hinata anticipating and coming to receive in his peripheral vision. He steps back, and just as the ball is about to hit the ground, Hinata leaps and performs a kind of Rolling Thunder, stopping Oikawa's serve.

"Nice receive!" Kageyama says while preparing to set. In a quick exchange of glances, he decides to do a quick attack with Asahi, who manages to spike the ball past Iwaizumi and Kindaichi's block, hitting the ground immediately.

"AWESOME QUICK, ASAHI-SAN!" Tanaka shouts, patting Asahi's back.

"That was really a good receive!" Kageyama praises.

"That was my Rolling Thunder!" Hinata says, waving towards Nishinoya.

"That's my first-year!" Nishinoya signals his approval.

"Continuing what I was saying... by the end of this tournament, I believe everyone will recognize Hinata as one of the most complete players in the prefecture, perhaps even at Oikawa's level," Ukai says.

After a point by Daichi, the match is tied at 8-8 when it's Hinata's turn to serve.

"Hinata-Kun!"

"Hinata-Kun!"

"I can't disappoint my fans, I've got to look good!" Hinata says.

"I'm not sure if that's the best motivation, but it's definitely a motivation..." Sugawara sighs from the bench.

"I hope he hasn't forgotten our personal battle from the practice match!" Watari thinks, motivated.

"I'll show these guys that Oikawa isn't the only one who can be a pain to inexperienced receivers!" Hinata thinks, a mischievous smile forming at the corner of his mouth. He tosses the ball up and makes a powerful jump, hitting the ball with great speed and deliberately aiming at Kindaichi.

"Damn!" Kindaichi thinks as the ball hits his wrists and flies away.

"We've got our serve demon too!" Tanaka shouts.

"Hey, stop yelling randomly, we'll get a warning!" Tsukishima alerts.

Hinata scores two more points in sequence targeting Kindaichi, until on the fourth serve, Seijoh's libero manages to intercept and pass the ball to Oikawa. Once again, Aoba Johsai attacks with both wings looking like they'll jump, but this time, after quickly analyzing Karasuno's defense, Oikawa performs a surprise dump shot.

"Tsk! Just missed!" Nishinoya complains, having dove but arrived milliseconds too late.

"Next one, Noya-san!" Tanaka says.

After the point from Seijoh, Iwaizumi serves firmly.

"It's mine!" Daichi says, easily receiving and passing to Kageyama, who sets for Tsukishima at the net.

"Relax, it's just the glasses guy!" Oikawa provokes, visibly irritating Tsukishima, who spikes towards the opponent's court. Seijoh's libero intercepts the play and receives.

"Nice save, Watacchi," Oikawa says, performing a feint while looking at Hanamaki, then setting for Matsukawa. Tsukishima reads the play and blocks successfully.

"Humpf!" Tsukishima mutters, adjusting his glasses and looking at Oikawa.

12-9 Karasuno
