Haikyuu - I Am A Different Hinata!

Chapter 101: Chapter 101 - Prank

The sun was just beginning to rise, and it seemed like the Karasuno bus was halfway through its journey when Hinata looked around and noticed most of the Karasuno volleyball club members asleep. When he glanced forward, he saw Takeda driving and Ukai snoozing beside him.

"That guy really fell asleep!" Hinata thought to himself as he grabbed the marker that was always in his bag and started walking down the aisle of the bus.

"What are you doing?" Kageyama, who was sitting next to him, asked, noticing his movement.

"Relax, just a little prank..." Hinata said as he reached Takeda's side and made a "shh" gesture.

"Don't do it!" Takeda scolded in a low voice, unable to take his eyes off the road.

"Time for some art!" Hinata declared as he drew a nice mustache on Ukai and extended his eyebrows. He then carefully returned to his seat. After a while, a loud shout echoed through the bus.

"WHO DID THIS?!" Ukai yelled, pointing at the doodles on his face and waking everyone up.

"UKAI-SAN, THAT MUSTACHE DOESN'T MATCH YOUR DELINQUENT HAIRCUT!" Tanaka laughed, prompting the rest of the team to join in, forcing Ukai to wipe off the easily removable marker with his shirt.

"FRANKLY! YOU BRATS DON'T KNOW HOW TO TREAT A COACH! JUST FOR THAT, I'M DOUBLING YOUR TRAINING!" Ukai protested, making the team regret laughing at Hinata's prank.

After a few more hours on the road, with Takeda and Ukai taking turns driving, the Karasuno players finally arrived in Tokyo again.

"So we're really staying somewhere different this time," Hinata observed, being the first to step off the bus.

"It seems the location for these training camps changes depending on the date or something like that," Sugawara explained as the rest of the team followed behind.

"Shoyo," Hinata noticed Kenma walking toward them to greet the team.

"Hey, it's great to see you, even though it hasn't been that long since we last met," Hinata said with a friendly smile. Kenma was one of his closest friends outside of Karasuno.

"Yeah, we need to settle our score," Kenma said in his usual monotone voice.

"I'm not sure if I should ask, but are we talking about volleyball or that fighting game we were playing last time?" Hinata wondered, scratching the back of his neck.

"Of course I'm talking about Super Street Fighter IV... I can't stay tied with a noob like you!" Kenma said, sounding genuinely annoyed as he glared at Hinata.

"Well, I might be a beginner at that specific game, but I've played plenty of other fighting games. It's just a matter of learning the combos, so you're being unfair!" Hinata retorted, slightly indignant.

"OH, IS THAT THE SKYTREE?!" Nishinoya shouted as soon as he stepped off the bus and looked around.

"I wonder how many times this would happen if we visited every part of Tokyo... don't you have transmission towers where you live?" Kuroo laughed.

"Don't blame us! All these transmission towers look exactly like the Tokyo Tower. It's like they do it on purpose!" Daichi shot back.

"That couldn't be the Tokyo Tower; we're in Saitama," Kenma pointed out.

"Speaking of which, where is this famous Tokyo Tower?" Hinata asked, slightly curious.

"It's in Minato... not too far from here. I think it would take less than an hour by bus," Kenma said as he started walking.

"Look! We could visit it sometime!" Hinata said, turning to the volleyball club members behind him.

"Hinata! We're here to improve our volleyball skills, not to go sightseeing!" Ukai scolded.

"Right... but I don't see why we can't do both..." Hinata muttered under his breath, slightly frustrated. As he looked ahead, he saw Lev running toward them, shouting something that became clearer as he got closer.

"HINATAAAA!" Lev yelled as he approached.

"Hinata! Did you grow?" Lev asked, seeing Hinata as a rival who, at this point, only had the upper hand in height.

"Lev, what's your problem?" Kenma sighed.

"I didn't grow! What about you? Did you stop being terrible at receives?" Hinata teased with a mischievous grin.

"NO! BUT I GREW 2MM, YOU SHORTY!" Lev shot back, sticking out his tongue like a child.

"Lev, you idiot! Being 2cm taller than him doesn't mean anything, and it doesn't change the fact that he's still short!" Kenma said, tired of hearing Lev spout nonsense.

"Alright, let's take them to where they'll be staying at Shinzen High!" Kuroo said, smacking the back of Lev's head.

"WHY'D YOU DO THAT?!" Lev complained.

"There was a bug... this place is infested with them!" Kuroo said, holding back a laugh as he guided the Karasuno players to a room very similar to the one they had at Nekoma.

"Man... I'm sure it's going to be a disaster at first..." Hinata said thoughtfully, predicting that their new attacks would fail miserably at the start of training.

"Probably, but there's no way around it. We'll have to go through it if we want to improve our new weapons!" Daichi declared, rummaging through his bag.

"We're going to embarrass ourselves, but anyone who laughs at my failed attacks will have to deal with me!" Tanaka threatened.

"Tanaka, none of that. We've talked about this before. We can't mess things up and leave a bad impression. Who knows, we might become regular guests, and that could help future Karasuno players still in middle school!" Sugawara explained, his eyes sparkling at the thought of helping the next generation.

"You talk as if there's no chance Karasuno could decline again like before, and they might stop associating with us..." Tsukishima said.

"WHAT? Why can't it be the other schools that decline, and we have to find another training group?" Tanaka argued.

"Well, Fukurodani is a renowned school that usually has good players, no matter the era or generation..." Kageyama mused.

"That's true, but we don't know what Nekoma's future would be like without Nekomata-sensei. It's possible that without him, players might lose interest in joining Nekoma, but it seems unlikely," Daichi analyzed.

"Tsk! Got it!" Tanaka nodded.

"But now that we're all ready, enough talking. Let's head to the gym!" Daichi declared, leading the Karasuno players through Shinzen High until they entered the gym.

"Oh, looks like everyone's already warming up!" Takeda said as he sat on the bench, his eyes scanning each team as they stretched and prepared for training.
