It wasn't just that it had less than half, but rather that it was down to almost 80%.

Within the entire cave, the most common things seen in the distance were the eggs of the snake people and the tribesmen and snake monsters who took care of them.

Seeing their god suddenly awaken, the few guards around were frightened—but within their panic was a flicker of surprise.

Under the gaze of the god of darkness and poisonous mist, the snake people began to dance and gesture, attempting to communicate.

But the snake god couldn't understand them at all.

Like James, it hadn't learned to communicate effectively with its people.

It wasn't that it couldn't learn, but its massive size and distinct vocal organs differed from those of the snake people. Besides, as a giant beast and a somewhat simple-minded being, it had not yet realized the importance of learning how to communicate.

Moreover, given the difference in their levels of existence, why should it learn to speak with lower beings?

Its nature had also become lazy over time. Shifting even slightly while sleeping was bothersome to it, let alone learning something as tedious as language.

These poor and fragile creatures rarely lived long enough to see it each time it awoke. Their varying heights and the unique patterns on their scales were proof enough of their brief lives.

Though not particularly intelligent, it had a remarkable memory, remembering clearly the features of every snake-man it had encountered before.

Even if it had been sleeping for a long time.

'What a sad, short-lived bunch of little creatures.' It thought, watching the tiny beings dance beneath it.

It concluded that the snake people might be out hunting, perhaps preparing a delicious meal for it.

If these little ones knew he was awake, they'd likely return soon, wouldn't they?

With this thought, it regarded the dancing snake-men as mere entertainment before dinner, watching them with interest.

What it didn't realize was that the snake people outside were indeed 'hunting,' but the food they gathered was given to a group called the Water People.

Furthermore, as the snake people fulfilled a contract by delivering the last batch of blood-food to the shark people, an even greater threat loomed.

Far beyond the mountains where the snake people gathered, a large group of dinosaur people was charging toward them.

Trailing behind the dinosaur army was a giant beast, trudging along with a somewhat helpless demeanor.

---

"Oh, look, I found something!"

"Wow, are these the same guys who live in the volcano we saw earlier?"

In the clear sky, a creature only about two meters in size screeched with excitement.

This creature was humanoid, but it resembled a large mosquito.

Its three pairs of transparent wings fluttered incessantly, and it had a pair of hands and two pairs of legs.

Its head was essentially an enlarged mosquito's, minus the long proboscis, covered with black and white patterns, giving it an eerie appearance.

They were known as the People of Sky and Wind, at least by their own definition.

These mosquito people weren't as strong as the dinosaur or snake people, nor could they match them in size.

But one thing they excelled at compared to snake people and dinosaur people was flight.

They believed that in the heavens, no one could defeat them.

At the very least, they could escape, as none could chase them down.

They were the conquerors of the continent's skies in this era.

As such, they naturally had no natural predators.

This superiority had nurtured an exceedingly arrogant character among the mosquito people.

They looked down upon creatures on the ground, but at the same time, they dreaded falling from the sky and being preyed upon.

They primarily survived on fruits and sap, and when hunger struck, they returned to the ground or trees.

Falling to lower altitudes and getting hunted was common in ancient times.

But over time, these mosquito people developed highly refined dynamic vision, allowing them to detect any movement on the ground, rendering most camouflage ineffective against them.

This made it rare for them to be hunted by ground species, which only amplified their rotten attitude.

Just how bad was their reputation?

Every so often, after spotting something interesting on the ground, these mosquito people would carve shells with pictorial oracle bones, spreading gossip.

They relished watching other races battle to the death. Witnessing such struggles affirmed their belief that the People of Sky and Wind were the true heirs of the gods.

This feeling of superiority was intoxicating.

Sometimes, other races even traded food for the information they obtained from mosquito people.

But it was impossible to fully employ them as scouts; their active, unruly nature made them hard to manage by the ground-dwelling species they considered inferior.

So, mosquito people were, most of the time, mere troublemakers—a constant source of frustration and irritation.

The dinosaur army's ambush during its assault on the snake people was no mystery to the dinosaur elders.

The rapid discovery of the dinosaur people's attack and the snake and shark people's coordinated defense left only one probable cause: the mosquito people—a race with remarkable speed and an inclination to stir up chaos.

The elders were furious, but the Mosquito Tribe's base camp wasn't even on this continent, leaving the dinosaur elders and leaders feeling helpless.

---

High above, two mosquito people were puzzled as they looked at the altered dinosaur army.

They had been on the island, feasting on delicacies provided by the shark people. Returning slightly late, they found that the three-tribe war had already ended.

The war had indeed concluded, with the snake and shark people defeated.

Such a result was beyond the mosquitoes' expectations.

Learning that the defeat was due to the dinosaur god, the two curious mosquito people naturally wanted to see what this so-called god of lava looked like.

Were the gestures of the snake and shark people's terror really justified?

However, before reaching the dinosaur tribe's skies, they saw the dinosaur army marching in retaliation.

These dinosaur people had completely changed.

Each walked like a humanoid giant, turning the surroundings into a chaotic mess as their numbers swelled.

The mutated dinosaur people were huge but still roughly the same size as the snake people.

But their kin had grown massive.

Observing those colossal beasts, measuring nearly 30 to 50 meters, the two mosquito men were astounded.

The dinosaur army trampled everything in its path, smoke and dust billowing, the earth shaking.

The mosquito men were stunned.

Yet that wasn't all.

For, at the back of the dinosaur army, towering amid the dust, was an enormous creature.

Not a mere monster, but a god.

It was the god of the dinosaur people, far larger and more imposing than the mosquito men had imagined.

The two looked at each other in disbelief.

James was the largest god they had ever seen.

Nearly half as large as their own gods of sky and wind.

But after the initial shock, one mosquito man suddenly laughed.

"Ha! Now this is going to be fun!"

"It seems only one of the two earthbound races can survive, and a war of gods is imminent!"

"Haha, this is incredible. We'll have a tale to share when we get back!"

A mosquito man whirled around his companion in excitement like a child.

The other mosquito man, though equally eager for the upcoming spectacle, suddenly slapped his forehead.

"We have to inform the poisonous fog aliens. We can't let the lava aliens succeed in a sneak attack—otherwise, the rest of the war will be too dull."

"Oh, and the water aliens are trading the last supplies with the poisonous fog aliens. Perhaps we can coax the water aliens into joining this war?"

"Haha, brilliant idea!"

"But would they? I mean, the lava god looks powerful, right? Didn't they already flee from it once?"

The other mosquito man pondered, rubbing his chin.

"Right! What should we do?"

"Ah, wait!" The mosquito man's companion suddenly remembered something.

"There's bound to be a godly battle! And if one god perishes…"

"This would be the blood-feast of the gods. The water aliens surely won't ignore it!"

"And maybe one of us should return to the tribe elders and ask them to awaken the Mother Goddess. We can't let others take this banquet from us!"
