__________

Yes, during the period when James absorbed a large amount of lava and remained in the Red Lotus form, his overall height had increased a bit.

Although James himself couldn't tell how much he had grown—whether it was just a few millimeters or several meters—it was hard to say. But given his current enormous size, even a few millimeters more would be significant.

How many millimeters would he grow in ten days, in a year, or even in ten years? And what about over a hundred or a thousand years?

Think back to how small he was when he was just a lizard. How old is he now?

Maybe he slept for tens of thousands, millions, or even tens of millions of years during this period.

After all, when James was asleep, the entire world was in a doomsday state, with oceans everywhere and no land.

Even if someone told him he'd slept for hundreds of millions of years, he wouldn't be too surprised.

After all, human-like monsters have appeared. Given the challenges of biological evolution as understood in past lives, is there anything incomprehensible about this?

However, since this is an extraordinary world, the natural evolution speed of organisms can't be assumed by common standards.

For instance, the dinosaur people before him had transformed into a new race within just forty days under his radiation.

So, James felt he had only slept for hundreds of thousands of years, or maybe millions at most. Billions? That seemed a bit too exaggerated to him.

The Red Lotus form is a condition caused by James entering a meditative-like state to absorb vast amounts of lava energy.

In this state, it's clear he can foster his own growth more effectively. This is a fact James now understands.

Another key point is that in this state, James could completely merge with the flames.

By trying to control the molten flames similarly to how one might control their limbs, he could almost manage to make the lava form simple shapes outside his body.

Armor resembling molten flames?

Well, James wasn't able to control it much yet. At best, he could let the molten flame cover a small area on his body for a few seconds before it detached and dripped onto the ground.

Ultimately, it's because James's consciousness power isn't strong enough.

Yes, in this world, one can indeed develop consciousness power similar to mental power.

This was also what James discovered recently—exploring the use of consciousness to manipulate the molten flame as an extension of his body.

With only a short time spent using this power, and still in the process of exploration, James could now only use consciousness power to guide the flow and reshaping of energy within himself.

It's somewhat like the externalization of mental power or mental dialogue in novels.

James felt that these abilities were still distant goals.

However, though they were far-off, he could still try them gradually. Even James wasn't certain if he could achieve it.

After all, everything now was unknown to James. Without any previous attempt or reference, everything had to be discovered on his own, naturally making the journey different.

Future generations might learn quickly from the experience and knowledge of past ones, but James, being the predecessor, was now left to figure things out on his own.

Luckily, James remembered a lot about Godzilla.

For example, in the Crimson or Red Lotus Godzilla state, in some of the peripheral materials released officially, Crimson Godzilla could supposedly create two pairs of molten wings using energy.

Though this version of Godzilla didn't appear in movies, or animations, who's to say it couldn't exist as a hypothetical state?

If James could eventually master the molten flames to form any "prosthetic limbs" he wanted, maybe he could create two pairs of immense and fearsome wings, enabling him to fly.

Just imagining this made James feel a surge of excitement.

Yes, this is an extraordinary world. Even if the original Godzilla couldn't do this, why couldn't he create it himself?

Although he looks like Godzilla and his abilities are also similar, there's no official depiction of Godzilla being able to induce racial mutations through radiation.

Moreover, his current size far exceeded the official Crimson Godzilla height of 100 meters.

With a future full of possibilities, James couldn't help but look forward to it, curious and exhilarated.

As a giant beast, he might feel lonely at times in the future, but one thing was certain—his life would never be boring.

Instead, there were still countless discoveries and new things awaiting him to explore and create.

The mere thought filled James with enthusiasm and determination for the future.

Moreover, James thought that if he wanted a better and more interesting life in the future, he could start by helping these little beings who had come to believe in him.

If nothing else, their primitive cave-dwelling life wasn't exactly ideal.

Now that he was awake, he should help them live in proper homes, teach them to read and write, and perhaps even guide them towards forming city-states, right?

---

There was more than one giant beast in this world that enjoyed observing civilizations but often fell into deep slumbers.

Though James was special, his uniqueness lay in his soul. There were many other giants in this world whose physical forms might be slightly less exceptional than James's.

A long, long time ago, when the world was still an endless ocean…

One night, a tiny, millipede-like creature emerged from the deep sea under the moonlight, guided by clusters of glowing algae.

It ventured onto land, becoming the first creature to do so.

It was clueless, devoid of any understanding of the world. It merely followed its instincts—to eat and to avoid danger—and over time, its instincts evolved.

Unlike other marine creatures that made their way onto land, it was not constrained by a lifespan. Instead, it possessed an extraordinary ability, changing its form periodically.

Eventually, on the barren first continent, it took on the form of a snake.

From that point onward, it began to develop a lethargic nature.

And it was during these cycles of sleep and awakening that it noticed a curious phenomenon—a swarm of small, weak creatures appeared around it.

These creatures were so tiny that, despite their numbers, they couldn't even fill the gaps between its teeth.

Of course, this wasn't the remarkable part.

What caught its attention was that these weak creatures looked oddly similar to itself.

Though small, it was the first time it had seen something that resembled itself on this land.

This triggered the curiosity in its fledgling consciousness, sparking a faint sense of attachment.

As time passed, the snake began to protect these tiny creatures, occasionally leaving behind scraps of food from its hunts for them.

One day, after it awoke from another slumber, it found that the little creatures had changed.

They'd grown bigger, with some even developing strange "legs" on their upper bodies.

Not only did these creatures act strangely, but when it woke up, they even brought offerings of food to it—food that it would usually dismiss.

Yet, it consumed the offering anyway.

Receiving worship from these little beings, it refrained from harming them and instead grew more curious about them.

It watched as these creatures hunted beings many times their own size. Even when a large number of them perished, they relentlessly attacked the "giant beast" until they emerged victorious.

Seeing many of its little followers fall, only to then celebrate by offering food to it, stirred something strange within its simple mind.

Compassion? Affection? Pity?

It wasn't sure what it was feeling.

It didn't understand the origins of its emotions. After all, although it had been conscious for some time, no one had taught it anything, and it spent most of its time asleep, naturally making it a bit naive.

But when it saw the giant beast defeated before it, and the cheers of these little beings as they offered it food, it felt a brief sense of joy.

This joy seemed to come from nowhere, but it cherished being surrounded by these weak creatures.

Because of this happiness, it even began hunting on its own and bringing large amounts of fresh food back for its people.

And so, the snake's relationship with its people continued to this day.

Today, the enormous underground cave awoke once more.

Not by its people or hunger, but by an unusual sense of foreboding.

This sense of crisis was faint, and it didn't even realize it had woken because of it.

Unlike James, it awoke infrequently—maybe once or twice every thousand years.

Each time it awoke, it would find its people eagerly bringing it food.

It had grown lazy and rarely left its cave. It would accept the food offerings and carefully observe how its people had developed since its last slumber.

Watching the little people cheer, seeing them come and go, watching them live within the dark world… this high-dimensional view fascinated it.

It had grown to enjoy and be content with this lifestyle.

As for a life purpose or goal? It didn't have such lofty ideas. Isn't existence simply about eating and sleeping?

Oh, and checking on the well-being of its tiny people.

Today, it was awake again.

But something felt odd—why were there so few people surrounding it?

And why was the entire cave population in the dark world smaller than the last time it awoke?
