Girl, Are You Well?

Chapter 9 - There's Someone

Chapter 9: There’s Someone

Perhaps many years later, I will say to myself: Thank you for the past, thank you for silently enduring everything. The growth I gained from those years of hardship and exhaustion still benefits me today.

Who am I? I am still myself. No matter how high I climb, I remain fundamentally the same. I won’t look down on anyone; I’ll simply be myself.

I want to be like a tree, silently growing, unyielding in the face of wind or rain. Even when the sky is overcast, it’s only temporary. I believe that as long as there’s light in my heart, darkness can never truly touch me.

I believe in myself. I will make struggle my motto, my guiding principle in life. I will embrace action with unwavering resolve. I believe in tomorrow, in the future, and that winter’s chill only serves to make the arrival of spring even sweeter.

Waiting… It’s not just me who waits for spring. The flowers, the trees, all of nature awaits. And when spring finally comes, everything awakens.

I know that struggle doesn’t guarantee success, but it’s the key that unlocks its door. The path to success demands not a fleeting burst of effort, but unwavering perseverance. It may take ten years, twenty, or even a lifetime to reach our desired destination. But isn’t the struggle itself what gives our lives meaning?

Flowers bloom and wither, only to bloom again. As you grieve the fading of one blossom, remember that another season of bloom is on its way.

Life is fleeting, everything is momentary, like a passing dream. We all seek a meaningful life, but what does that mean? Is it measured by material possessions, or by the richness and fulfillment of our hearts?

If you love learning, you’ll always feel there’s more to discover. Learning isn’t something you do only when motivated; it’s a lifelong pursuit. Strive for constant improvement, and you will shine.

When you’re alone, don’t feel isolated. Seek solace in books; let them be your companions in solitude.

We raise chickens to be plump and healthy, yet they cannot fly. You might say they have wings, but they lack the strength to take flight.

Return that chicken to the forest, and in time, you’ll see it soar.

If a person is lazy or undisciplined, it’s not that they lack wings, but the strength to use them. Birds rely on their physical wings, but as humans, we can draw strength from other sources. Can you truly claim to have no wings?

If the fight isn’t in your heart and your actions, how can success ever find you, or love embrace you?

Strive now, for now is the perfect time.

Guoguo frowned, pondering to herself: Was his confession yesterday a fleeting infatuation, or genuine love? I’ll test him. I’ll say I don’t like him and see how he reacts.

Just then, Meng Jinfei messaged again: “Guoguo, have you eaten? How was your day?”

She waited a long while before replying, “No, I haven’t eaten. Are you going to bring me food?”

Unbeknownst to her, Meng Jinfei was already downstairs with a home-cooked meal.

“Guess, guess, guess. I don’t even like you, so stop messaging me. I’ve left something at your door. I’m leaving now!”

As Guoguo rushed to the door, Meng Jinfei was already gone. He hadn’t taken her words of rejection seriously. But Guoguo’s heart was filled with a warmth she couldn’t explain.
