Genshin Impact : Transmigrated as Liyue's Yin-Yang Archon

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Keqing

Liyue Harbor, at this moment.

Qiu Bai was sipping tea with Zhongli while listening to a storyteller recount old tales. His thoughts drifted back to the Archon War—a grand battle where gods fought for a place among the Seven.

The seven victorious Archons were exceptionally powerful, but not all gods were equal.

From Qiu Bai own estimation, the deities of that era could be categorized into High-tier, Mid-tier, and Low-tier Archons. Right now, both he and Zhongli would likely be considered High-tier Archons.

Before he strengthened himself, he had probably been a Mid-tier Archon. Someone like Osial would also be a Mid-tier Archon—yet even in his sealed state, pinned beneath the ocean by a Geo spear, it still took the combined power of the Adepti and the Jade Chamber just to push him back into the depths.

The power of an Archon was not something mere mortals could ever hope to match.

"I can feel my strength slowly increasing," Qiu Bai mused to himself.

"Is it because I do not suffer from erosion?"

Setting his teacup down, he looked at Zhongli.

"Zhongli, how does your current strength compare to when you fought in the Archon War?"

He watched Zhongli intently, waiting for an answer.

"I was stronger during the Archon War," Zhongli replied, though he was unsure why Qiu Bai was asking.

Qiu Bai leaned in slightly and isolated the sound around them before asking another question.

"If you weren't affected by Celestia's erosion, would your strength increase or decline over time?"

Without hesitation, Zhongli answered, "It would increase."

"So that's how it is…"

"Not being affected by erosion is truly a blessing."

Meanwhile, Tian Tiezui, the storyteller, noticed the two men exchanging silent gestures.

"What in the world? No sound at all? Are they speaking telepathically?"

"These two are really something else..."

Shaking his head, Tian Tiezui turned back to his storytelling.

Just then, a young woman with cat-like ears, dressed in a purple dress with a Electro Vision hanging from her back approached.

She had long slender black silk-clad legs adorned with intricate carvings exuding an air of nobility and elegance.

With graceful steps, the young woman made her way toward Zhongli and Qiu Bai.

"No way… Liyue's Raiden Shogun?!"

Qiu Bai mind reeled as he watched Keqing walk toward them.

Of course, this wasn't a game, but still he had to admit, in person Keqing was absolutely stunning. The cat-like ears on her head only made her even more adorable.

Stopping before them, Keqing furrowed her brows and held up a painting.

"Have you two seen this Immortal?" she asked.

Her sharp gaze flickered between the two handsome men before her. She recognized Zhongli from Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, a man renowned for his vast knowledge and wisdom.

But the other man...

"And you are?" Keqing asked, looking at Qiu Bai.

Zhongli answered for him with a calm smile.

"Lady Yuheng, he is an old friend of mine. This time, he has returned to Liyue specifically to attend the Rite of Descension."

Zhongli looked at Keqing, the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing, and introduced her formally.

"So you are the esteemed Lady Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing?"

"I've heard much about you."

Qiu Bai extended his hand for a handshake. Come on, how could he miss the chance to shake hands with such a stunning beauty?

Keqing hesitated for a moment, glancing at the young man before her. He looked as if he had stepped straight out of a painting, so much so that she found herself instinctively reaching out her hand as well.

Ordinarily, she would never agree to shake hands with a stranger, especially a man.

But for some reason this time, she did.

"So warm and soft…"

Qiu Bai couldn't help but marvel. It had been a thousand years since he last touched a woman's hand.

Keqing's face turned red instantly. She quickly withdrew her hand and looked down, trying to hide her embarrassment.

"I'm afraid I have not seen the Immortal you are looking for, Miss Keqing," Qiu Bai said casually.

"I doubt Brother Zhongli has seen him either."

He shook his head, signaling that neither of them knew anything.

"Like hell I'm going to tell you that the very Immortal you're looking for is standing right in front of you."

"Then I won't trouble you any further."

Keqing smiled, gave a polite wave, and walked off into the distance toward Liyue Harbor.

"Immortal Lord, where could you be?"

"Keqing will definitely find you!"

She gazed up at the sky, her flushed hands clenched tightly over her chest.

"So, this is the current generation of Liyue Qixing?" Qiu Bai mused, turning to Zhongli.

"Heh, she is the most irreverent among the Qixing," Zhongli chuckled.

"It's precisely because of people like her that I considered retiring in the first place."

He spoke with a calm smile, his voice carrying a tinge of amusement.

"Irreverent? Please, who are you trying to fool? Keqing secretly collects an ungodly amount of your figurines behind the scenes."

There's a saying in Liyue:

"There are only two kinds of people—Zhongli fans, and completely deranged Zhongli fans."

"Pfft—"

Qiu Bai couldn't hold back his laughter.

Zhongli raised an eyebrow. "What's so funny, Brother Qiu Bai?"

"I just remembered something that made me happy."

"What is it?"

"Nothing much, just some eroge plots." (T/N: I'm making some liberty to change this hehe)

"...?"

Zhongli fell silent.

After finishing their tea and listening to the storyteller's tale, Zhongli bid farewell and returned to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

Qiu Bai wandered aimlessly through Liyue's bustling streets, soaking in the atmosphere.

Wherever he walked, he turned heads, effortlessly attracting admiration from female passersby.

"Hey, look at that gentleman over there he's absolutely gorgeous!"

Two delicate-looking young women whispered to each other excitedly.

"Exactly! I heard he's a guest consultant for Wangsheng Funeral Parlor."

"A guest consultant? Isn't Mr. Zhongli also one?"

One of the women blushed as she gazed at Qiu Bai.

"You don't think Wangsheng is keeping pretty boys, do you? Both of them are so handsome."

"No way, Hu Tao is still so young!"

"She's not that young anymore," the other woman muttered sourly.

Qiu Bai overheard the conversation and nearly laughed. Hu Tao is indeed quite young and quite flat.

"I should find a quiet place to relax. Tomorrow's going to be quite the show."

"Morax, that guy, is going to fake his death tomorrow. I must help the parlor carry the coffin!"

"Hahahahahaha!"

Trying to hold in his laughter, Qiu Bai teleported away from Liyue Harbor and appeared near a secluded bridge in Jueyun Karst.

"Huh? There's even a fishing rod here?"

"Might as well do some fishing. Life is really peaceful these days."

Meanwhile, at the Jade Chamber.

Ningguang stood before a wall of intelligence reports, scanning them as she muttered to herself.

"The Fatui Harbingers…"

"The Traveler and the Immortal Lord…"

"The Rite of Descension…"

Resting her chin in her hand, she sighed.

"There's nothing else to do but take things one step at a time."

"That's right, the Rite of Descension is tomorrow. Why not just ask the Geo Archon directly?"

"As for those Fatui I don't take them seriously."

Ningguang's gaze turned cold.

She knew full well that the Fatui had already stolen Mondstadt's Anemo Archon's Gnosis.

There was no telling if their next target was Liyue's own Archon.

But really, how many in this world had the power to assassinate the Geo Archon?

Shaking off her thoughts, she instructed Baiwen, Baishi, and Baixiao to sort out the documents.

She needed to compose herself for the Rite of Descension tomorrow.

Nightfall.

Qiu Bai looked at his miserable fishing results.

After spending half the night fishing, he had caught only one measly fish.

Meanwhile in the river below, schools of fat juicy fish swam freely.

He couldn't take it anymore.

"Oh, so you refuse to bite, huh?"

"If that's how it is, then I have no choice, dear fish."

Qiu Bai activated his divine power and lifted every single fish out of the river.

The fish: "Bro, are you serious right now?"

"But doing this defeats the purpose of fishing, I should calm my mind."

His lips twitched, and with a wave of his hand, he returned the fish to the water.

The fish: "What in the actual hell, man?"

"Sigh, that's enough fishing for today. But hey, I still have one fish left."

Grabbing the lone fish by the tail, Qiu Bai felt his appetite stirring.

"Guess I'll just roast this one."

Without hesitation, he started a fire and began grilling the fish.
