Genshin Impact: The Crit Archon

Chapter 54: Mona

Aether looked at Rosaria as he was given the report by her. "You want me to do what again".

Rosaria looked at him as she spoke, as her eyes meet his. "Your spys from Liyue have noticed that Mage is coming to Mondstandt for her own reason, we have no idea why she is coming here or what her reason are, she is recently in the middle of the Border between Mondstandt and Liyue".

Aether then looked at her. "So what do you want me to do".

Rosaria looked at him. "I want you to investigate her, as a member of Shadow Guard this is your job".

Aether just sighed. "Here I go telling Amber that our date is cancelled".

1 hour later.

Aether was showing hiding in a tree, as he removed his cloight and mask as puts in his inventory, as he landed as he was now looking around for her.

Paimon looked as well as she noticed someone. "Aether look, Paimon thinks that's is her".

Aether eyes then say her, she has fair skin, pale sea green eyes, and waist-length dark purple hair that turns slightly red at the ends. Her fringe is uneven.

Aether just looked at her, as he activated some Invisibility mage craft then he used some noise cancelling mage craft, as then used some spell canceling mega craft.

[ Host has crit in magic, one million times crit effect has been actived, crir effect starter ]

These spell was both cast on him and Paimon as he walked up to her, this was the best way to keep Ans eyes on her, then what happened next just made him stop.

Mona then spoke not even looking at him. "I know you are there".

Aether blinked, surprised by Mona's sharpness. He had cast the best stealth and sound-dampening spells at his disposal, but she still noticed him. His eyes narrowed as he approached cautiously, keeping Paimon close behind him, her tiny form fluttering beside him, utterly confused by what just happened.

"Impressive," Aether muttered to himself. He didn't expect her to detect him so easily. "I thought I was being careful enough."

Mona, without turning around, continued in a calm but firm tone. "You think hiding your presence from someone like me is easy? I've been trained in the art of magic long enough to sense subtle disturbances in the air. A well-placed spell, no matter how hidden, always leaves a trace."

Aether stepped into her line of sight, raising an eyebrow. "So, you know why I'm here, then?"

Mona finally turned, her pale sea-green eyes locking with his. There was no surprise in her gaze, just calm understanding. "I know why you've come, and it's not for a friendly chat," she said, folding her arms. "Rosaria sent you, didn't she?"

Aether sighed, crossing his arms as well. "Figures. Always getting caught up in things I didn't ask for."

Paimon hovered near Aether's shoulder, looking at Mona curiously. "Wait, you knew he was here the whole time? Then why didn't you do anything?"

Mona smirked slightly, looking down at Paimon. "Because there's no need to. He's no threat to me. If I wanted him to leave, I'd make him leave."

Aether raised an eyebrow. "I'm not sure whether I should be flattered or insulted by that."

Mona's smirk widened. "You're a skilled traveler, but I'm not easily swayed. If anything, I'm impressed you managed to sneak up on me for a moment."

Paimon crossed her arms, giving Aether a little side glance. "Looks like this mage is not one to be messed with, huh?"

Aether didn't respond immediately. He was still processing Mona's confident demeanor. "So, what exactly is your purpose here in Mondstadt?" he finally asked.

Mona's eyes gleamed with a hidden wisdom. "My reasons are my own. But if you must know, it's not something you should be worried about." She paused, eyeing Aether for a moment longer before adding, "But I do have a feeling you'll find out sooner or later."

Aether tilted his head, intrigued despite himself. "A cryptic answer. How very mage-like of you."

Mona smiled, her expression softening just a little. "I don't reveal everything. Some things need to stay hidden, don't you think?"

Paimon, who had been silent for a moment, suddenly piped up. "Hey, are you going to tell Aether what you're really up to? Or are you going to leave him hanging like this?"

Mona chuckled softly at Paimon's boldness. "If you must know, I'm here because of an important celestial event. It will affect both Mondstadt and Liyue, and the currents of fate are growing more unpredictable. But I'm not here to involve anyone in this matter unless I have to."

Aether absorbed her words, his mind already working through the possibilities. "A celestial event, you say? That sounds like it could be trouble."

Mona's gaze darkened slightly. "That's an understatement. But sometimes, we have to let things unfold on their own." She paused for a moment, as if considering something. "However, I won't leave without offering a bit of advice."

Aether looked at her, intrigued. "Advice?"

"Keep an eye on the stars," Mona said cryptically. "They may lead you to more answers than you expect."

With that, Mona turned away, her cloak fluttering behind her as she resumed walking, not giving Aether or Paimon another glance.

Aether glanced at Paimon. "Well, that was... informative."

Paimon nodded. "She's definitely got that mysterious vibe going on."

Aether sighed. "At least we know a little more than we did before. A celestial event... What could it mean?"

As he watched Mona disappear into the distance, his thoughts lingered on her words. He was beginning to realize that things were far more complicated than he had originally thought.

"Looks like I'll need to keep an eye on her, just in case," Aether muttered, adjusting his cloak and preparing to move on. "And I guess the date with Amber can wait... again."

Mona looked at him. "If it makes you feel better dog of the shadow guard, my visit to Mondstandt is not harmful, just a mission my master has sent to find an object from her friend and to have witch dual with my Master friend student".

Aether looked at her. "That still doesn't make me feel right, also I am no dog".

Mona glanced at Aether with an almost playful expression, her lips curling into a smirk. "Ah, so defensive. I never said you were a dog of the Shadow Guard. Merely that you belong to them, and they have you on a leash, so to speak." Her tone was teasing, but there was a flicker of something deeper in her eyes, something Aether couldn't quite place.

Aether frowned, the words rubbing him the wrong way. "I may be part of the Shadow Guard, but that doesn't mean I'm a servant to anyone. I have my own reasons for doing what I do."

Mona shrugged, not seeming to take offense to his words. "Fair enough. You're a free spirit, I get it. But let's be clear—you are doing the bidding of your superiors. It's just how things work."

Aether's eyes narrowed slightly. "It's not about being controlled, Mona. It's about purpose. I do my job because it matters, not because I'm told to."

Mona's gaze softened for a brief moment, as if she understood, but quickly masked it with her usual playful demeanor. "Hmm, always the righteous one. It must be exhausting."

Paimon floated in between them, her small voice cutting through the tension. "Okay, okay! We get it, you both have your own reasons for doing things. But can we focus on why Mona is here in Mondstadt? You said something about finding an object and a duel?"

Mona's expression became more serious as she nodded. "Yes. My master has sent me to retrieve a specific object—a relic of some sort—that was lost somewhere between Mondstadt and Liyue. It's crucial for the mission, but it is not dangerous… as long as no one interferes." She paused, glancing at Aether with a more intense look. "As for the duel, it's more of a formality. My master's friend, a scholar, requested that I challenge their student to a friendly duel to test their magical abilities."

Aether's mind whirred with the information. "A duel? That's… unexpected."

Mona's lips twitched into a small smile. "You'd be surprised how many things in this world are unexpected. But in any case, don't worry. Mondstadt is safe for now. Just stay out of my way, and I'll handle the rest."

Aether gave her a skeptical look. "You know, Mona, for someone who says they don't want trouble, you sure seem to attract it. Or maybe it's just you."

Mona chuckled softly, unfazed by his comment. "Maybe it's you, Aether. It seems like you've been chasing after trouble ever since you set foot here." Her eyes glinted with something like amusement. "But that's what makes things interesting, doesn't it?"

Aether took a deep breath, trying to push aside the unease he felt. "Fine. I'll stay out of your way for now. But I'll be keeping an eye on you. I'm not letting anything slip under my radar."

Mona raised an eyebrow, clearly entertained by his determination. "Of course, keep your watchful eyes on me. It's not like I have anything to hide."

With that, she gave a light bow and turned, her cloak fluttering behind her as she made her way into the distance, leaving Aether and Paimon standing there.

Paimon looked up at Aether. "Well, that was… weird. You think we can trust her?"

Aether didn't respond immediately. He watched Mona's figure grow smaller as she walked away. "I don't know, Paimon. But something about this feels off. I'll keep an eye on her, like I said. We're not out of the woods yet."

Paimon nodded, clearly still unsure of Mona's true intentions. "Well, if she's really here for a duel, then I guess we don't need to worry too much for now."

Aether's thoughts lingered on the words Mona had said. A duel, a mission, and an object tied to it all. It was more than just a simple visit. Whatever Mona was involved in, it was definitely something that could affect more than just Mondstadt.

As they walked away, Aether's mind raced, wondering just what he was getting himself—and his friends—into.

After a while Aether catcher up with her, they talked and made the way to Mondstandt they then waited for the other mage and it was Klee as she said her mother sent, Mona then asked for the Box and Klee said she dumped they went to the place and they didn't and Mona was distraught as she looked at Aether.

Aether lookee at her as she spoke. "Let me gess, until you find the object you are stuck in Mondstandt".

Mona just looked at him as she nodded her head slowly. "Y-yes, but where do I stay".

After they went looking for house in Mondstandt they found a house that has a Hydro simble, Mona broke which made the land Lorde come out as Mona is now leaving on that place, as Aether smirked seeing her high and mighty ass fell down.

After a while Rosaria was reading the report. "You did a good Job Aether just".

Aether looked at her. "What is is"

Rosaria has tick mark as she looked at him. "You didn't need to write she has a Nice Ass on your report".

Aether just smriked at her as she spoke to her. "That is what you get from calling me on my day of Boss"

Rosaria gave Aether a sharp, unimpressed look, her fingers tapping the report. "Next time, keep your observations to yourself. I don't need to know your thoughts on her... assets."

Aether just grinned, leaning back casually. "Hey, I was just making sure the report was thorough. Can't blame me for being honest."

"There's honesty," Rosaria said, her voice dry, "and then there's excessive detail. Keep it professional, Aether."

He shrugged nonchalantly. "What can I say? I've got an eye for the important things." His smirk widened as he leaned forward. "But seriously, did you hear about how she nearly caused a scene with that landlord? It was like watching a high and mighty tower crumble down."

Rosaria sighed, rubbing her temples. "Please, don't remind me. I've got enough to deal with without your... colorful commentary."

Aether just laughed. "Alright, alright, I'll keep it in check... but I stand by my report."

Rosaria shot him a look, but the tiniest hint of a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. "Just... next time, leave the personal notes out, alright?"

Aether chuckled and nodded, knowing full well that it was probably the best he'd get out of Rosaria. "Fine, fine, no more reports on nice assets."

Iseei then walked as he looked at Rosaria. "I have done my reports".

Rosaria looked at him. "If you have written anything about the targets Boobs or buts, I will personally be sending to dragon spine for the next 5 mission".

Iseei then looked at her as he left the room. "I need to make some change".

Iseei gave Rosaria a brief nod before walking out of the room, leaving her to stew in the chaos of the reports and her own thoughts. As the door clicked shut behind him, Rosaria couldn't help but lean back in her chair, exhaling a heavy sigh.

"Running the spy operations of the Knights of Favonius… and dealing with this nonsense. What did I do to deserve this?" she muttered under her breath, rubbing her temples in frustration.

She glanced at the pile of reports on her desk, most of them filled with unnecessary details. There were a few on routine patrols, but Iseei had a particular way of embellishing every encounter. Rosaria could practically feel the headache forming as she imagined what else he'd written.

She took a deep breath, trying to steel herself for what would be another long day of managing the absurdities that came with the job. Of course, there were worse things than dealing with Iseei's antics, but she still couldn't shake the feeling that something—or someone—would drive her to the edge one day.

Shaking her head, she grabbed the next report, fully aware that it would be anything but straightforward. At least, with Iseei gone for the moment, she could finally have some peace... Or so she thought.

"At least tomorrow is a new day," she muttered, hoping the rest of the day would be less... eventful.
