Chapter 33: Protect Mondstandt
The scene was chaos in Mondstadt, the echoes of battle ringing in the air as Aether faced the Abyss Herald, fury blazing in his eyes.
Aether gritted his teeth, summoning the power of the Anemo Vision coursing through him. "Crit system activated! It's time to show you the strength of the Knights of Favonius!"
He lunged at the Abyss Herald, his sword dancing with swirling winds as he channeled his magic. With each strike, the power of the Anemo Vision intensified, creating powerful gusts that sent debris flying. The Herald retaliated, summoning a barrier of darkness, but Aether's determination cut through it like a blade.
"You won't stop me!" Aether shouted, launching himself forward with renewed strength, every ounce of his energy focused on defeating this foe.
Meanwhile, in the north, Amber and Lisa were making quick work of the slimes. The Barren Bunny bounced around, distracting the enemies while Amber fired arrows with deadly precision.
"Lisa, your animals are amazing!" Amber exclaimed, summoning her bow once more.
Lisa smirked, her hands raised in a graceful motion. "It's all about balance, Amber. Nature has a way of cooperating with us if we just let it!"
As the last of the slimes burst into shimmering droplets, they turned to see Luminis in the distance, a powerful force against the wave of Hilichurls.
"Luminis!" Amber called out, her voice bright with pride. "You're incredible!"
Luminis, with determination in his eyes, took a deep breath, preparing for another breath attack. "I won't let them hurt my city!"
His breath of ice and wind sent a chilling wave, enveloping the monsters in frost. Eula, wielding her claymore with fierce elegance, nodded approvingly. "You're a true warrior, Luminis!"
Noelle, beside her, felt the rush of battle pumping through her veins. "Let's finish this together!"
In the west gate, Diluc fought with unmatched ferocity, cutting down enemies left and right as he navigated through the chaos. His eyes were focused, the dark cloak billowing behind him as he delivered swift, decisive blows to the invading creatures.
"The Knight of Dawn won't let Mondstadt fall!" he growled, his voice low and dangerous as he crushed a Hilichurl beneath his heel.
The knights surrounding him rallied, inspired by his relentless spirit. "For Mondstadt!" they shouted, charging alongside him.
Meanwhile, Jean and Venti were at the forefront of the battle.
"We need to coordinate our efforts," Jean said, her voice steady even amidst the chaos. "Let's push them back!"
Venti nodded, his lyre glowing with elemental energy. "A song for the brave! Let the winds guide our blades!"
As he strummed a chord, a powerful gust swept through the battlefield, knocking back a wave of enemies and granting their allies a moment of respite.
Just then, Sairaorg and Albedo arrived, rallying their own forces.
"Let's take the fight to them!" Sairaorg shouted, determination etched across his face.
Albedo, assessing the situation quickly, pointed to a group of Abyss Mages. "We need to focus on them. They're coordinating the attacks!"
Succrose nodded fervently, her eyes alight with excitement. "I'll help with crowd control!"
"Perfect!" Albedo replied, stepping forward. "Let's combine our strengths!"
Back with Aether, he managed to dodge the attack from the Abyss Herald, feeling the adrenaline course through him. "I won't let you escape! What have you done to my sister?"
The Abyss Herald smirked, a wicked glint in their eyes. "She's just a pawn in our game, just like you will be if you don't watch out."
Aether felt the fury boil within him. "You think I'll fall for your tricks? I won't let anyone hurt my family!"
With a swift motion, he channeled the system's power. "Crits system, amplify!"
A wave of energy surged through him as he unleashed a flurry of attacks, the sword igniting with a vibrant light. Each strike against the Abyss Herald became more potent, and with a final thrust, he released a surge of wind energy, blasting the Herald backward.
"I'll find her," Aether declared, breathing heavily but refusing to back down. "I'll stop you and anyone else who tries to hurt my loved ones!"
As the battle raged on, the combined forces of Mondstadt began to turn the tide. The knights fought valiantly, showcasing their unique abilities and strengths. The city stood strong against the Abyss Order's relentless onslaught, each member fighting not just for victory but for the safety of their home.
And as they fought, the bond between them only grew stronger. They were more than just knights; they were a family united by purpose, ready to protect everything they held dear.
Aether then swingee his sword, as the Abyss Herald blocked attack, as then Aether coverd his sword with Fire mage craft.
The Herald eyes wident. "But how"
As then the system opens for Aether.
[Host has crit, 1 million times crit effect has been applie, Host has crit on magic and attack]
Aether then broke through the sword he then kicked the abyss Herald into a build, as aether cover his hand with with and he smacked his fist into the herald over and over and over and over again, as in the end that is what killed the herald.
[ host has crit on attack, host has crit on attack, host has crit on attack, host has crit on attack, host has crit on ]
Aether just yalled. "Shut up"
"Aether"
Aether turned his sword and pinned her to the wall then he saw who it was it was Amber.
Aether's heart raced as he realized he had pinned Amber against the wall, his sword gleaming menacingly just inches from her throat. The fire magic around his hand flickered, a stark contrast to the fear in Amber's eyes.
"Aether!" she gasped, struggling against his grip but unable to break free. "What are you doing? Snap out of it!"
He blinked, the rage and adrenaline clouding his judgment fading away as he stared into Amber's terrified face. The flicker of recognition broke through the fog of battle-induced fury.
"I... I didn't mean to…" Aether stammered, his voice breaking. He dropped his sword, the clang echoing in the chaotic surroundings, and released Amber's neck, stepping back in horror. "I'm so sorry! I lost control!"
Amber rubbed her neck, visibly shaken but trying to regain her composure. "Aether, you need to calm down! The Abyss Herald is gone, but you're still in danger! You can't let your emotions take over like that!"
Aether took a deep breath, his heart pounding. "I don't know what happened. It was like I was just... driven by rage. I thought I could save Lumine, but all I did was hurt you."
Amber stepped closer, her eyes softening as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "We're all fighting to protect Mondstadt, and I know it's tough. But we need to stay united, or we'll lose ourselves in the chaos. We're counting on you!"
Aether looked around, the remnants of the battle still echoing around them. "You're right. I can't let my emotions control me. I need to fight for everyone, not against them."
Just then, a loud crash came from nearby, and the remaining Abyss forces began regrouping, emboldened by the presence of a few more Heralds. "Look out!" Amber yelled, pulling out her bow and quickly nocking an arrow.
Aether drew his sword again, feeling a renewed sense of determination wash over him. "Let's do this together, Amber."
With a nod, Amber released her arrow, the projectile soaring through the air, leaving a trail of elemental energy. It struck an incoming Hilichurl, exploding in a burst of fiery light that sent the creature tumbling backward.
"Now, we can fight!" Amber called, her spirit reignited.
Aether felt the energy of their teamwork flow through him. He charged forward, his sword raised high. "I won't let you down, Amber!"
Together, they weaved through the battlefield, combining their strengths. Aether summoned fire magic, launching powerful waves of flames toward the regrouping Abyss forces while Amber rained down arrows, each imbued with elemental energy.
The two fought side by side, the bond between them strengthening with every strike. Just as they were gaining ground, another voice rang out over the chaos.
"Aether! Amber! We need your help over here!"
Turning, they saw Eula and Noelle battling ferociously against a group of Hilichurls and Abyss Mages.
"Let's go!" Aether shouted, determination surging within him.
As they rushed to aid their friends, Aether felt his confidence growing. The system had warned him of the darkness within him, but with Amber by his side, he knew he could fight it.
In the distance, Eula glanced at Aether and Amber as they joined the fray. "Finally! I thought you two were taking your sweet time!"
"Yeah, we were just catching our breath!" Amber joked, drawing another arrow.
Luminis soared above them, sending down blasts of ice magic, freezing several enemies in their tracks. "I won't allow them to harm our city!"
"Let's show them our true strength!" Eula yelled, her claymore swinging fiercely.
With renewed vigor, the four friends pressed into the battle. Aether felt the warmth of camaraderie envelop him as they fought to protect Mondstadt together, the chaos of the fight melding into a symphony of elemental attacks and teamwork.
[ Host has gained a bonus for fighting alongside allies: Attack Power increased by 30%. ]
With every slash of his sword and every arrow shot, Aether knew they were making a difference. No matter how dark the night became, they would stand together against it, determined to protect their home.
"Let's push them back!" Aether rallied, raising his sword high, ready to strike down the darkness with the light of their friendship.
Everyone fought and by the end Mondstandt was saved, Dilcu had slipped away, hiding him self before talking of his descise as the dark knight hero, with everyone else they were there until Aether felt to his knee as he felt down sleep, the adrenaline finally stopped
2 days later.
Aether woke up in the hospital of he knight of Favonius headquarters, as then he saw someone it was Eula she was laying her head on a sleep, as on the chair was Amber and Luminis.
Aether eyes then moved to see jean. "How much"
Jeane looked at him. "You were out for two days, did for how many died... 16 knight, and a few civilians".
Aether's heart sank at Jean's words. The weight of the loss hung heavily in the air, and he pushed himself up to sit, wincing as pain coursed through his body.
"Sixteen knights... and civilians?" he echoed, his voice barely above a whisper. He felt a deep sense of guilt wash over him. "I could have done more. I should have been able to protect them."
Eula stirred at the sound of his voice, lifting her head from the armrest of the chair. Her eyes, tired yet fierce, locked onto his. "Aether, don't blame yourself. You fought valiantly. We all did. The Abyss Order was relentless, and it wasn't just you who faced them."
Amber, who had been dozing in the chair next to Eula, stretched and rubbed her eyes. "You scared us when you collapsed, Aether! You were so caught up in the fight, but we managed to hold our ground because of you!"
Luminis nodded, his small frame perched on the edge of the bed, his eyes glowing with a mix of concern and admiration. "You took down so many of them! It was amazing to watch. You're strong, Papa!"
Jean sighed, glancing at her fellow knights gathered outside the hospital room, preparing to honor the fallen. "We need to remember them. Their sacrifice wasn't in vain. Mondstadt stands because of them—and because of us."
"Right," Aether said, taking a deep breath. "But how can we rebuild after this? There's so much hurt."
Eula leaned forward, her expression serious. "We rebuild together. We honor those we lost by protecting those who remain. That's how we show our strength."
Aether nodded slowly, steeling himself for the hard road ahead. "What's the plan then?"
Jean stood straighter, determination shining in her eyes. "We'll hold a memorial for the fallen knights and civilians. We'll give their families the support they need. And then, we'll strengthen our defenses. We cannot allow the Abyss Order to threaten Mondstadt again."
"I'll help," Aether said, his voice gaining strength. "Whatever it takes to protect our city, I'm in."
"Good," Jean said with a soft smile. "But first, you need to rest. You can't lead if you're not at your best."
Amber chimed in, her usual cheerfulness returning, "Exactly! You need to eat something too. I think I saw some delicious fruit nearby!"
As Amber jumped up to fetch some food, Aether smiled faintly, appreciating her efforts. He looked over to Eula, who still held a serious expression. "What about you, Eula? You should take care of yourself too."
"I will," she replied, a small hint of warmth in her voice. "But first, I want to make sure you're alright. You're important to all of us, Aether."
Luminis clapped his hands, eager to change the somber mood. "I can help too! I'm learning to cook a little! Maybe I can make something special for everyone!"
Aether chuckled softly, the warmth of their camaraderie pushing back the shadow of despair. "Sounds like a plan. Just… no experiments, alright?"
Luminis pouted but nodded in agreement, and the atmosphere lightened significantly.
"Alright, let's do this together," Aether said, feeling a sense of unity. "After we recover, we'll stand stronger than ever."
As they exchanged smiles, Aether felt a flicker of hope ignite within him. Even in the darkest times, the bonds they shared would guide them through the storm.
The girls left, as then Kaeya walked in and looked at him.
Kaeya looked at him. "I saw your fight, what made you go so crazy"
Aether looked at Kaeya as he went quite before eh spoke. "During the attack I saw a hooded figer with a mask, I went to attack her and she had a sword"
Kaeya looked at him. "Sword?"
Aether looked at him. "She was defently with abyss and that sword it is my... Sister sword".
Kaeya's expression shifted slightly, his usual playful smirk replaced with a more serious look. He pulled up a chair and sat down next to Aether's bed, resting his elbow on his knee as he leaned forward.
"Your sister's sword?" Kaeya repeated, his voice low and thoughtful. "Are you sure it was her sword?"
Aether nodded, his eyes distant as he recalled the encounter. "There's no doubt. I would recognise it anywhere. The moment I saw it, something in me snapped. I… I lost control. All I could think about was finding out what happened to her."
Kaeya leaned back, crossing his arms. "That explains why you went berserk on that Abyss Herald. I've never seen you fight with such... ferocity." He paused, tapping his chin. "But if she's wielding your sister's sword, does that mean she's still out there? Or… did something else happen to her?"
Aether closed his eyes, his mind racing with the possibilities. "I don't know. I didn't even get a good look at the person behind the mask. But if the Abyss Order has her sword… then something's wrong. Either she's in danger, or..." His voice trailed off, the unspoken thought hanging in the air.
Kaeya frowned, sensing the weight of Aether's words. "You think she might be working with the Abyss Order?"
Aether hesitated before shaking his head. "I can't believe that. My sister wouldn't join them willingly. Something else must be going on."
Kaeya studied Aether's face for a moment, then nodded. "I believe you. But we need to be cautious. If the Abyss is involved, it won't be easy to figure out what's really going on. They're tricky, and they have a habit of manipulating people."
Aether clenched his fists. "I don't care how tricky they are. I'll find out what happened to my sister, no matter what it takes."
Kaeya smirked, but there was a softness in his gaze. "That determination of yours… it's admirable. But remember, you don't have to do this alone. Mondstadt is your home now. We'll help you in any way we can."
Aether looked up, meeting Kaeya's eyes. "Thanks, Kaeya. I'll need all the help I can get."
Kaeya stood up, placing a hand on Aether's shoulder. "Get some rest. You'll need your strength if we're going to uncover the truth about your sister." He paused for a moment, then added, "And don't forget, you've got people here who care about you. Don't shut them out."
Aether then looked Kaeya. "I wish I can know more about her, but how can I get information of other lands"
Kaeya looked at him. "Remind me your a knight who has not join anyone of Mondstandt kinght squad"
Aether looked at Kaeya. "Yeah I didn't"
Paimon looked at Kaeya. "Um Paimon doesn't like where this is going"
Kaeya then spoke. "Remeber when we said that the Knight Of Favonius has a spy order, it's name is shadow Guard.... You can join them".
Aether raised an eyebrow at Kaeya's suggestion, his interest piqued. "Shadow Guard? I've heard whispers, but I didn't think they were real."
Kaeya smirked. "Oh, they're very real. It's the most secretive branch of the Knights of Favonius, tasked with gathering information and operating from the shadows. They're the eyes and ears of Mondstadt, and they have connections all over Teyvat."
Paimon floated closer, her eyes wide with concern. "But doesn't that sound dangerous? Aether, are you really thinking of joining something like that?"
Aether leaned back, considering the possibility. "If it gives me access to information from other lands, it might be the best way to find out more about my sister's whereabouts. I've hit too many dead ends, Paimon. This might be my only shot."
Kaeya crossed his arms and nodded. "Joining the Shadow Guard isn't something you take lightly. You'll be expected to work in secrecy, often in dangerous situations. But in return, you'll gain access to intelligence from across Teyvat. You'll be able to move freely between nations, investigate leads, and even go undercover if needed."
Aether thought about it for a moment, his mind already racing with the possibilities. "If it means I can find my sister, I'm willing to take that risk."
Kaeya's smirk softened slightly. "I had a feeling you'd say that. I'll speak to Jean and make the necessary arrangements. But understand, once you're in, there's no going back. You'll be a shadow among the knights, unseen but always watching."
Paimon still looked uneasy. "But what if something happens to Aether? What if—"
Aether placed a reassuring hand on Paimon's head, cutting her off gently. "I'll be fine, Paimon. I've been through worse. And I'll always have you by my side."
Paimon crossed her arms but nodded, reluctantly agreeing. "Fine… but Paimon's keeping an extra-close eye on you!"
Kaeya chuckled at their interaction before turning serious again. "I'll let you know when the preparations are complete. For now, rest up and get ready. You'll need to be sharp for what's to come."
With that, Kaeya left the room, leaving Aether and Paimon to contemplate the next steps. Joining the Shadow Guard could open up new paths to finding his sister, but it also meant stepping deeper into a world of secrecy and danger.
As Aether stared out the window, he clenched his fist. Whatever it takes, he thought. I'll find her.
