Chapter 208: Chapter 207: Sangonomiya Kokomi
"Don't worry about me. Even if I'm caught up in the Fatui's schemes, I can handle it," Yuxie said, his gaze fixed firmly on Rosalyne's eyes. "Do you trust me?"
Rosalyne hesitated for a moment. Under Yuxie's determined gaze, she finally relented.
After sharing her plans with Yuxie, Rosalyne walked to the window. The night breeze lifted her golden hair and caused her dress to flutter slightly, carrying with it her mature and delicate fragrance.
"Rosalyne, have you considered that if any part of your plan goes wrong, you might..." Yuxie trailed off, unable to finish his sentence.
"That... might not be such a bad ending. It could serve as my atonement," Rosalyne replied, her expression dimming slightly.
Her tone seemed serene as if she had already accepted the inevitability of life and death.
Truthfully, Rosalyne had long stopped fearing death. Ordinary people lived no more than a century, but she, with her unique bloodline, had already lived for several centuries.
Yet, ever since reuniting with Yuxie, her once-dead heart began to beat again.
Memories she thought she had buried resurfaced, filling her with a growing desire to atone for her sins and live a simple, peaceful life with Yuxie—exploring mountains, sharing tranquil days together.
This longing grew stronger within her, but what she said aloud still carried a hint of resignation.
"Don't say things like that," Yuxie countered. "Rather than atoning through death, isn't it better to live and redeem yourself? You must stay alive."
"I..." Rosalyne avoided looking at Yuxie, her eyes trembling.
"I won't let you die," Yuxie declared calmly but with resolute certainty.

The Next Day
After breakfast, Yuxie and Shenhe headed to Yashiori Island.
The island was beautiful, with lush greenery and clear waters.
However, it was a land marked by tragedy. During Orobashi's eastern expedition, he met his end here, struck down by the Musou no Hitotachi of the Raiden Shogun.
The fateful blade left a massive gorge across the island, now known as Musoujin Gorge.
Even today, the gorge brimmed with dense Electro energy, discouraging any living creatures from approaching.
From the top of Musoujin Gorge, Yuxie and Shenhe gazed down at the flowing waters below, faint traces of purple Electro energy still visible.
Orobashi's colossal remains lay in the gorge, weathered by time, as though silently recounting his story.
For reasons he couldn't quite understand, Yuxie felt a pang of regret for Orobashi, though he had never met the serpent god.
He knew, however, that Orobashi was a god who deeply loved his people. Yet he stumbled upon forbidden knowledge—secrets he should never have uncovered.
As a result, his destiny was sealed: death.
"Are you two here to admire the scenery of Yashiori Island?"
A sweet voice suddenly interrupted their thoughts.
Yuxie and Shenhe turned toward the sound.
Standing before them was a young woman with light pink hair, a serene smile, and elegant attire. Her soft demeanor seemed to exude an unshakable tranquility.
Yuxie recognized her immediately but refrained from revealing her identity. Instead, he greeted her politely:
"Hello. May I ask who you are?"
The woman maintained her gentle smile. "Nice to meet you. My name is Sangonomiya Kokomi."
Sangonomiya Kokomi—the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island and its highest leader.
However, she seemed disinclined to reveal her status to Yuxie and Shenhe at this moment.
"Hello, Kokomi. My name is Yuxie, and this is Shenhe," Yuxie introduced himself. "Are you here alone? To say the least, this isn't exactly the best spot for sightseeing."
"That's true," Kokomi replied, her gaze shifting to Orobashi's remains with an inscrutable expression. "Actually, I'm here to pay my respects. As a resident of Watatsumi Island, it's only fitting to honor Orobashi-sama, who once protected us. Though he is no longer here, his legacy endures."
"I see..." Yuxie followed her gaze to Orobashi's bones.
"Judging by your attire, you two don't seem to be from Inazuma. Are you here as tourists?" Kokomi asked, her voice carrying a hint of concern. "Now isn't the best time to visit Inazuma."
"We're partly here as tourists, but we also have important matters to attend to," Yuxie replied.
"Fate has brought us together. I wish you success in your endeavors," Kokomi said, turning back to them with her ever-present serene smile. "Perhaps we'll meet again if our fates are intertwined."
With that, Kokomi gave a slight bow and turned to leave.
As they watched her retreating figure, Shenhe couldn't help but feel curious. She glanced at Yuxie and asked:
"Yuxie, don't tell me you knew that girl before."
"Probably... not?" Yuxie hesitated, unsure of his answer even to himself.
