Chapter 44: A valuable lesson (2)
After placing it on the blue crystal screen, she connected the mana com with a cable, almost immediately, a screen opened up. The screen showed a lot of things including the quest that Whittaker had accepted.
With one glance at the reward of the quest, she turned to look at the two boys, "Mister Whittaker, please provide me with your Student ID card, and place the evidence on the table."
The reward could only be obtained by the person who accepted the quest. The mana com used to accept the hunting quest was registered on his name, so only Whittaker could accept the reward.
Whittaker passed his Student ID card to her while Shadow placed the winter wolf carcass on the table, behind which the counter Lady stood. A grey light shoot out from the table and examined the corpse, afterwards, a holographic screen detailing the time of the wolf dead and many other aspect popped up.
The adventure associations have set up certain measure to take action against people who uses unfair means to complete a quest. For example, the winter wolf quest could also be completed if a person bought its carcass. A carcass of winter wolf only costs one platinum while the reward of the quest is 100 royal credit points that equals 100 Platinum. A person could reap a lot of profit through unfair means. To take action against such unfair means, an automatic system had been created that checks certain aspects to determine whether the hunter has hunted a magical beast or just bought its carcass.
Abigail read the information with scrutinizing eyes. With a serious attitude, she looked three times more charming.
Successfully determining that the winter wolf has been killed recently, Abigail proceeded to complete the transaction process by placing Whittaker's student ID card on the blue crystal. The transaction process started, as money in the form of Academic point started to load up on the back of his ID card.
While money was loading in his ID card, Abigail said to Whittaker with a pleasant smile, "Mister Whittaker, would you like to permanently buy the mana com and the storage ring?"
Remember, people in this world become independent when they awaken their class weapon, so hearing a kid being called "Mister" was pretty normal.
Anyways, from the information provided by the holographic screen, Abigail had analyzed that the mana com and the hunter's ring weren't permanent on Whittaker's name. If he buys these two items then she will get a 10% sale bonus from it, it might be worth nothing for an awakened, but for a commoner like her, that commission was a month worth earning.
"Yes, Miss Abigail," Whittaker said, he had found out her name after glancing at the name tag fixed on her chest pocket.
In reply, Abigail nods her head, and press some buttons due to which the status of Whittaker's mana com and hunter rings changes to permanent. At the same time, two royal credit point is cut off from the ID card. A few seconds later, the transaction process also finishes.
"2 F-ranked (1-star) Health potions and 5 F-ranked (2-star) Mana potions have been successfully deposited to your hunter ring," Abigail said while handing back the Student ID to Whittaker, who happily accepted it, and the first thing he did was to turn around the card and look at the total number. It was 98!
He thought, 'Altogether, the two items had cost me a total of 2 Platinum.'
Even though he has lost 2 credit points he still had 98 left. 98 Royal credit points equaled 98 Platinum bar. After the split with Shadow, he will have around 40 Platinum bars.
On the other hand, Shadow handed his mana com and other necessary items to Miss Abigail to complete the second quest.
When Abigail saw the Royal credit points on the back of his ID card she gulped her saliva.
Even the combined amount of money that the three-generation of her family has earned over a hundred years cannot compare to the little boy in front of her. The young boy has more money than what she could ever earn in her entire lifetime.
'Should I beg him... no! I am not shameless enough to snatch something from a young boy's hand!' she righteously thought while performing her duties.
Soon after, the transaction process was completed, and his royal credit point increased by another ten.
Shadow's total royal credit point once again became a whopping 2765!
When Shadow got his ID back, Whittaker hurriedly said,
"Let's split up the amount!"
His honesty was thinning every second as he really wanted to keep such a huge amount, but Mother Lin has said, "Honesty is the best policy!" He won't give in to greed!
Shadow replied, "Wait,"
Saying that, he handed over several platinum bars to the shocked, surprised, and astonished Abigail.
"I hope this helps!" he said, walking away with Whittaker in toe.
While they were walking away, tears warmed up her eyes, and as their silhouettes vanished from her vision, they started to leak from the corner of her eyes.
'Has God send a messiah to help her in her time of misery? Otherwise, how could she be so lucky?' she thought while crying due to happiness!
