Game Maker In Remnant

Chapter 4: Skill Development

After making the models and animations for all the basic characters ,I started working on the weapons.

I got lost in my work for a few hours ,before I knew it I had finished all the original weapon designs along with their attack animations.

I felt a warm current flow through my body ,I could feel the improvement in my Basic Art skill.

Reaching level 3 on the skill. It reached a small checkpoint in level and sped up my work by fifteen percent.

Allowing me to finish the corresponding auxiliary items way faster than the weapons. I finished designing their sprites in half an hour before I saved all my progress into a game folder.

Looking at the time ,I realized it was already five in the evening. Shutting down my computer ,I headed outside to a small training ground.

The main weapon used by the previous Evan Cress was a pair of gauntlets. They were imbued with small amounts of water dust ,designed to aid with aura recovery and has a slight physical recovery effect as well.

Which worked out for me because my favorite characters in my previous life were brawlers. I found the wild punching and kicking ,taking downing enemies with your bare limbs ,very cool.

So I took some martial arts classes and I even participated in some boxing matches. Therefore when me and the previous Evan merged ,our skills combined to result in level 4 basic combat.

To make a comparison ,it was the same level as my game development skill that I honed throughout college and fifteen years of working in the game industry.

It was still well within regular human limits to achieve though. It was just a major breakthrough in skill level.

Placing me on the same level as decade old veterans. At least in terms of combat technique and experience.

So although it might be difficult to improve my combat skills ,I should still practice and lay a foundation.

As long as I have my bases covered ,the system can compensate for the rest of the way.

Therefor ,I started practicing with a practice robot from Atlas.

It had the strength range of a Basic to Intermediate Hunter/Huntress. Considering I'm still just starting as an apprentice ,this robot should serve as great training.

...

After 2 hours of getting beaten up and landing a few hits every now and then ,I didn't make any improvements with my combat skill.

I did gain a new passive skill though. It was called Damage Resistance. I also gained an attribute point for my Agility and Dexterity stats.

My stomach rumbling signaled that I needed fuel if I wanted to continue doing anything else.

Heading to the cafeteria for dinner ,I felt ravenously hungry as I smelled the various foods.

I shoved a pile of anything I could get and a bunch of meat on to a plate before sitting down and scarfing down the entire mountain of food in just two minutes.

The students around me looked on in astonishment and slight amazement as the watched me eat enough for five grown men in a couple minutes.

I hadn't eaten all day and I just went through a reincarnation ,along with developing Vampire Survivors and getting beaten by a training dummy.

I was definitely starved. Now that I had eaten though ,I was starting to feel the days wear on my body.

I was pretty exhausted both physically and mentally. Even with my slightly better physical and mental state ,I could feel the events of the day wearing me down.

I devoured everything and downed two cups of water. Then I got up and started walking leisurely to digest my dinner.

After making a few rounds around the halls of my new school ,I returned to my dorm room.

Feeling weary and tired ,I wobbled over to my bed and flopped onto it. Allowing myself to drift away to sleep.
