Game Maker In Remnant

Chapter 3: Advanced Technology

After investigating the various technologies of remnant ,I've come to realize that I'm in the future.

Literally. Remnant is technologically ahead of my previous life's world by at least a hundred years of advancements.

They had all kinds of things powered by dust or science and sometimes both. Including but not limited to ,Scrolls ,which were just mobile phones.

Computers ,Full Dive Virtual Reality ,and various advanced technologies. Mostly militaristic and partly entertainment based.

Surprisingly though ,the game development community leaves much to be desired in regards to quality.

Due to the fact that this world is mostly hunter and huntress based ,as well as the constant fight for survival against the Grimm.

There hasn't been much opportunity for the creativity of mankind to develop. It's mostly just been humanity training to fight against Grimm and develop advanced weaponry.

Other than that ,most common jobs from the modern era like construction worker ,delivery man ,librarian ,and so on also exist.

The only thing that's lacking is games. There are plenty of bars ,sports ,and clubs but there are no good games to play.

All the full dive games are mostly training 'games' for hunters and huntress to hone their skills in their free time and some basic rpgs where you get to play as a hunter or huntress.

It's alright but the whole point of games is to get away from reality for a moment and relax while having fun. Not fight for your life and train your combat skills.

So I realized that this game development system had a good reason to bind with me. Or maybe I was put in this world by the system.

Either way ,I lucked out. Now I had to decide which game I wanted to start with. I played plenty of great games and I watched a lot of people play even more amazing games.

So I had way more choices than I knew what to do with. So I started with something simple.

I wanted to build a fan base with the computer gaming community of this world. Since it had more of an avid gaming community with a few above average games.

Since my current skill isn't very high in any particular area other than programming and combat ,I thought to start with a smaller game with simple requirements.

Such as ,Vampire Survivors. A game heavily inspired by Castlevania with its 2D pixelated art style.

It was an incredibly simple yet addictive game that took half an hour per run ,yet many people in my original world spent at least a couple hundred hours playing it.

And that was before co-op was added for the console import. It brought in a surprisingly high amount of popularity to the developer.

So I began the initial development of the game on my computer inside the dorm. We had four computers that were lent by the academy for school work and personal use.

I started with the art ,making pixel art characters and backgrounds off my memory. I had a surprisingly clear recollection of all my memories related to games in my past life due to the system.

So I didn't have to worry about forgetting details about the characters and games from my past life.
