Chapter 548: 535 Yuan's Trump Card
One could imagine how much effort and resources the Star Warrior Sect put into capturing the Golden Great Sail Ship. They had set up a fleet at the second station to catch all other competitors in a sweep, and at the last station, they directly transformed a small asteroid into a large restraint field generator. The latter project was no less challenging than transforming an entire planet into a habitable one.
The Star Warrior Sect had been planning and arranging this for an unknown period, but they had not anticipated that such a meticulous plan and massive investment would be thwarted by Bai Zhongqi in an instant.
The first station led multiple forces into internal strife, and the Judgment Tribunal Fleet annihilated other competitors at the second station, all to ensure the integrity of the restraint field at the third station as much as possible.
Everyone knew that the Golden Great Sail Ship would not attack, so the only possible threats to this plan were other treasure hunters. Yan knew the risks of allowing that mysterious and powerful fighter to follow the Golden Great Sail Ship to the last station, but he always believed that the guy was also there for the Golden Great Sail Ship. Since the Star Warrior Sect had trapped the Golden Great Sail Ship, he should be pleased to see it happen.
Both parties were supposed to fight under the premise that the Golden Great Sail Ship couldn't go anywhere, and the last one standing would be the victor.
Yan naturally assumed that, although the fighter was incomprehensibly strong, the Sect was even more powerful. Relying on his arrangements and the trump card in his hand, he was sure he could defeat him and successfully capture the Golden Great Sail Ship.
This was like a highly skilled chess player who could foresee the moves, understood exactly how the opponent should play, and had ample responses and numerous contingencies.
However, Bai Zhongqi did not see himself as a chess player. His attitude was straightforward: "I've no interest in playing chess with you. Wouldn't flipping the table be much quicker?"
So Bai Zhongqi flipped the table.
The energy output required to trap a massive object the size of a small asteroid, like the Golden Great Sail Ship, was extremely large. Yet, such a huge and precise device could be disrupted if Bai Zhongqi destroyed just a small part of it, rendering the restraint field non-operational.
As Bai Zhongqi destroyed a tall tower, the Golden Great Sail Ship, like a beast breaking free from its neck rein, suddenly started moving again.
Yan's eyes nearly burst from their sockets as he frantically ordered the Sect's personnel, "Do something quickly! Repair the device; we can't let the Golden Great Sail Ship get away!"
This was the last stop for the Golden Great Sail Ship. It couldn't stay for long and would soon re-enter the Void. The next time it would return to the Second Universe would be six hundred years later.
Watching the fighter on the video screen in front of him, Yan's nostrils flared, his breath growing heavy.
"Madman, you will pay the price!" Even though he looked more like a madman himself, his chest was bursting with rage. The Golden Great Sail Ship was not only the key for the Sect to become a first-tier power in the Galaxy but also his path to reaching the pinnacle of life, and now it was being ruined by that mysterious fighter's pilot.
"Go to hell!" Yan roared as he leaped out of the faith ship.
The next moment, Yan ripped something from his neck, pressed a button on it, and the small ornament emitted a beam of light, then suddenly transformed into a huge Humanoid Mecha.
This Humanoid Mecha was not particularly large, standing about twenty meters tall. Its overall shape was not complex, looking less like overly-mechanistic parts and more like a towering warrior in armor. The Mecha was metallic silver, with a shield on its left arm and a Ship-Slicing Saber in its right. The crystal-like head window looked like human eyes, and the head was masked, exuding an aura of mystery and authority.
Yuan would tremble with excitement every time he saw it appear. Even his teacher had expressed envy because Yuan could pilot this mysterious and powerful mecha. To adapt to this mecha, Yuan had exerted an immense amount of effort, spending most of his day working on it.
But it was all worth it, as this mecha was one of the Cult's forces not to be underestimated.
He jumped into the mecha's cockpit, and the optical components all around the mecha emitted a faint cold light, indicating it had been activated.
Yuan took a deep breath, then violently pulled the control lever in front of him, and the mecha disappeared from its spot.
It reappeared at the stern of the Golden Great Sail Ship, right in front of Bai Zhongqi's warship.
This truly frightened Bai Zhongqi. He didn't know where this thing had come from, but he had felt a sense of danger from the moment it appeared.
If it was Bai Zhongqi piloting this mysterious mecha, the Chancellor wouldn't have wasted words and would have attacked vigorously. But Yuan, quite narcissistically, stayed hovering in the starry sky, showing off the divine might of his mecha.
"You're going to die," said Yuan indifferently, his expression returning to one where nothing in the world mattered to him, like a deity.
"Ruining the Star Warrior Sect's grand plan, such an end is already merciful for you."
"Hmph, this is the first time I've used 'Soul Extinguisher' in battle," Bai Zhongqi said. Like the Golden Great Sail Ship, this legendary weapon hailed from the Remote Ancient Universe Elder Race. "If it weren't for the fact that I'm the only one who can resonate with it, it wouldn't be my turn to use it."
Bai Zhongqi twisted his face and scratched his scalp, looking very unlike the Chancellor. He could feel the terrifying aura emanating from the mecha and knew it was a relic from the Elder Race. However, being on the enemy's side made him quite frustrated.
Mechas were generally regarded by most Universe Civilizations as an unpolished weapon. Although the human body is highly flexible and a great combat configuration, humanoid mechas were highly inefficient for universe battles, unable to truly leverage firepower advantages.
After all, who would engage in close combat during a universe battle?
Bai Zhongqi had seen many Interstellar Civilizations, none of which had mechas as their main combat vehicles—not because they couldn't make them, but because they were simply impractical.
But the mecha in front of him was clearly not a mass-produced weapon, nor was it ordinary in any sense.
Yuan's eyes shone with fanaticism. He lifted the Ship-Slicing Saber with the mecha's hand, supported the Saber God with his left hand, and in Bai Zhongqi's surprised gaze, the saber unfolded like a Transformer, revealing two gun barrels.
This was not only a close-combat weapon capable of splitting energy shields and warship armor, but also a long-range weapon able to deliver terrifying firepower.
A bead of sweat appeared on Bai Zhongqi's forehead, and he knew he might be in trouble now.
