Nan Ma looked at the five "Bai Zhongqi", who resembled elder brothers, and joked, "Chancellor, have you really not considered forming some kind of boy band with these five brothers? Bai Zhongqi snorted at Nan Ma's unreliable suggestion and was not receptive to it.

No sooner had Bai Zhongqi spoken than Hu's expression transformed from innocence to obvious surprise.

"What? Taoran Star has returned to normal?"

Nan Ma also took a look and said, "Compared to some planets inherently rich in radioactive materials, the radiation level of Taoran Star can indeed be considered normal."

Hu looked towards the gradually approaching surface of Taoran Star and sighed, "What on earth has happened during this past century?"

Just then, the Bionic Warrior piloting the spacecraft warned, "The radar has detected a large object approaching us."

Next, the radar and optical radar displayed a shape on the main screen, and as it moved, the display mirrored its real-time movements.

"What is that?" Bai Zhongqi asked in astonishment.

The flying creature, with an extremely ugly dog's head, was at least seven meters long. Unlike birds or pterosaurs, it didn't have wings but instead a thin membrane enveloping its limbs and body. More bizarrely, the creature only needed to slightly vibrate its thin membrane wings to let its massive body soar through the air.

Although the landing spacecraft Bai Zhongqi and the others were on was a small ship, about twenty meters in size, comparable to a large airplane, this huge, incredibly ugly flying creature seemed very interested in the ship, showing no fear at all.

Bai Zhongqi, supporting himself on the pilot's chair, ordered, "Shoot it down."

Though small, the ship was fully armed. The electromagnetic cannon fired a few small-caliber shells, instantly piercing through the large flying creature's body. The giant creature wailed, lost balance, and plummeted from mid-air.

Before Bai Zhongqi could breathe a sigh of relief, Nan Ma suddenly furrowed his brows.

"We might have done something unnecessary," said Nan Ma.

Bai Zhongqi did not understand what Nan Ma meant, but the next second, a piercing cry sounded, followed by a sky full of similar cries. On the horizon, Bai Zhongqi saw numerous dots gathering, growing larger, and eventually becoming a vast expanse almost filling the sky.

"Damn, these things actually travel in packs." Bai Zhongqi couldn't help but curse.

This was no special monster, just somewhat larger in size, still made of flesh and blood. The landing spacecraft was equipped with formidable cannons, which could easily turn these creatures into minced meat.

But when Bai Zhongqi saw such a vast number of flying creatures swarming towards them, he still felt somewhat uneasy.

"Fire!"

The pilot pressed the button, and a barrage of fire swept across. These cannons had a firing rate of tens of thousands of rounds per second and could be set to shoot at a slower rate with bullet sizes ranging from 23 millimeters to 5 millimeters.

The flying creatures that were hit by the gunfire screamed miserably and fell from the sky, but there were too many of them in the sky. Even after shooting down dozens, perhaps hundreds, there were still many times that number charging towards them en masse.

"Just how many of these things are there?" Bai Zhongqi was also getting frustrated. Although it wasn't his real body there, being surrounded by such a group of fearless creatures was unnerving.

The spacecraft's firepower brought down many creatures, but more kept coming. These creatures had sharp claws, and they dived at the landing spacecraft like giant bats, impacting against the shield-protected craft, shaking it wildly in the air.

At this point, the pilot of the spacecraft struggled to maintain its attitude and decisively pressed the discharge button, unleashing a strong burst of high-voltage electricity that instantly stunned some of the creatures, causing them to fall like stunned flies.

But no matter how many of these dog-headed bats the landing spacecraft killed, they still seemed extremely excited and aggressive within the group.

Bai Zhongqi speculated, "These creatures might be influenced by their group behavior. Once they are in a group, they become fearless, perhaps due to some collective consciousness."

Inside the shaking spacecraft, Nan Ma sat leisurely in a seat secured by magnetic safety belts, hands clasped behind his head, his face showing no signs of tension. Meanwhile, another incredibly powerful Star Warrior curiously peered out the window at the ugly and ferocious dog-headed bats. No matter how much the spacecraft shook, his feet seemed rooted to the floor, showing no sign of falling.

But the five "Bai Zhongqis" were in a more awkward situation, tightly grasping something to prevent falling.

"Step on it, we're breaking out," Bai Zhongqi told the pilot.

The pilot immediately pushed the spacecraft's thrusters to maximum, ejecting an intensely fiery plasma stream that roasted some of the dog-headed bats on the spot, and with great force, the spacecraft plowed through the creatures in front of it. However, what shocked Bai Zhongqi even more happened next.

The mass of flying creatures accumulated together and when the spacecraft charged at them with high speed, it actually couldn't break through the flesh wall formed by these creatures.

However, due to the close proximity, these creatures were gradually knocked off after the impact, falling slowly, with the survivors flying back up to re-form the wall, and those killed by the impact falling freely.
