Opening theme:
Opening theme: Alive by ReONa (Arknights Prelude to Dawn anime)
Visuals: Replace the Arknights characters with the cast of this story and replace the reunion with Grimm and Atlas soldiers. The opening depicts the divide between the elves and the humans, while Huntsman and Huntresses fight off the Grimm. The chorus shows Odyn and the other elves struggle against the humans, the same with the faunus and Saiyan characters. The song ends as it zooms to a shot of Odyn and Weiss look off into the distance before the dark elf turns to look at Weiss. Weiss, noticing his gaze just smiles as the title card for the story comes up after the screen goes black.
Chapter 5: First Steps part II
As the cloud of students began to descend upon the forest, Odyn is seen to be sommersaulting before grabbing onto a few branches and using the momentum to vault himself to the ground safely. After a series of flips and maneuvers, the dark elf was now safely on the ground of the forest. He breathed in and out softly as he looked to his surroundings.
"Now then, I suppose I should find whoever I'm partnered up with.," He said aloud.
He closed his eyes for a few moments, stretching his senses to search the surrounding area. As he did, he thought he felt a familiar type of energy nearby. He smirked, due to knowing exactly who that energy belonged to. Opening his eyes, the dark elf decided to head in the direction where he sensed the familiar energy. His thoughts began to wander as he made his way towards his destination. Odyn thought of the people he had met and interacted with at Beacon Academy so far.
"I've met some pretty interesting people so far, haven't I?" He mused to himself. "Ruby seems nice. A little bit curious and unique in her fascination or obsession with Dust Weapons, but she's a nice girl. I think Roy would get along well with her. There's also that girl Blake. Bit of a mysterious one and very guarded. Seems like she hides alot of things about herself, but.. I don't think she's a bad person. Misunderstood maybe, but not bad. Then there's Yang. She's... interesting certainly. Reminds me of Khanna for some reason, but from what I can tell... Yang is alot bolder especially when it comes to guys.. She's already set her sights on Baron."
He sighed as he remembered the last person he interacted with. Weiss Schnee, his childhood best friend, and the girl who was his Fiancée.
"And then there's Weiss.. The Princess is the same as I remember her being. Never true to her actual feelings. Always so guarded around everyone, except Khanna, Sarai, and myself. Perhaps I need to talk to her later about that. Still... it is good to see her again.," Odyn said to himself.
A group of shadowed figures were seen to be following him with glowing red eyes. Odyn stopped and sighed in exasperation. These creatures never did learn when not to mess with him. The moment he stopped walking, two beowolves jumped towards him, intending to bite and slash him. They did so at their own peril, as they were promptly impaled by swords of light that came from space surrounding Odyn. The two creatures disintegrated soon after.
"Are any of you idiots next?," Odyn asked in an annoyed tone as he unsheathed his sword now.
As if taking the invite, the rest of the pack revealed themselves and charged towards Odyn who side stepped the first two before elbowing a Beowulf in the face, breaking its nose. That one was promptly finished off with a blade of light. The next few, he dodged claw swipes and bites as he tripped up one before performing a series of jabs from his fists and slashes from his sword to finish them off.
He tossed his blade skyward and leapt up after it, the blade shifted and extended to become a spear with a gun built into it. While the weapon was still airborne, Odyn crashed back down to the ground, using his elven martial arts to devastate the surrounding Grimm horde. Even the Ursa Majors were no match for him as he bobbed and weaved past their attacks before hitting the grimm with his own combination of martial arts and magic power. When the blade finally came down to him, Odyn twirled the weapon seamlessly, tearing through the remaining Grimm with ease. After the Grimm dissipated, the blade shifted back to normal.
"Whew... that was a nice warmup I suppose. Now.. to find my partner.," Odyn said.
He began to walk towards a clearing he heard some commotion coming from.
When he came to the open clearing he saw another Boy with pointed ears, short and spiky Violet colored hair, and what appeared to be silver- steel gray looking armor on with blue and white trimmings. The boy fought with an elven blade as he used lightning to fight off the grim surrounding him. Odyn didn't immediately help because it seemed as if he had it under control. He smirked upon realizing who this boy was.
Beowolves and ursa's weren't a problem for him, it was the Ursa majors and the birds that were surrounding him from behind. Those could be a big problem, odyn leapt into action and very quickly took care of them just as the boy had finished off the last of his grim opponents.
He looked at him as he sheathed his weapon. Obviously, he wasn't pleased that he had been helped.
"I could've handled that one on my own.. what the.. big bro?," the boy started before realizing who he was speaking to.
Odyn smirked at him. What were the odds that he'd be partners with his own younger brother. It almost seemed too good to be true.
"Nice to see you again too, Roy.," Odyn said smirking.
"I see... so.. I guess we're partners then?," Roy asked.
"It would certainly seem that way. Honestly, this couldn't have worked out much better.," Odyn said.
Roy nodded. He was right though. The fact that they were brothers would only help them as teammates, they already knew each other so well after all.
"I figured it wouldn't hurt to have some backup. Are you still mad?," Odyn said.
Roy shook his head.
"Honestly, no. Now that I know you're my partner, that's water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned.," Roy replied before the brothers bumped fists.
The two nodded and headed towards where the others would be going. No words were needed since they knew what the other was thinking.
Elsewhere...
In another location within the forest, Hailfire had just fought off some Grimm as she made her way towards a certain clearing. As she approached the clearing she heard sounds of fighting. Deciding to check and see if someone needed help she ventured forward. However, as she did the sight she saw took her breath away. There standing in the center of the clearing, unscathed, was a blue skinned Arcosian teen. His armored tail swung back and forth he stared down the Grimm Ursa in frint of him.
The Ursa charged at him, fully intending to slash him to death. Hailfire was about to jump in to help when the teen pointed his finger towards the creature, shooting a red beam through its head. This instantly killed the creature as it flopped to the ground in front of him before the Grimm surrounding him all disappeared into black particles. Hailfire then walked out into the open and spoke.
"That was quite impressive. I was thinking of helping you, but I can see you didn't need it.," She said.
The teen looked towards the dark elf maiden in armor.
"I take it you're my partner then?," the arcosian asked.
Hailfire nodded.
"I am. We don't see many Arcosians around these days. But enough about that. The name's Hailfire Caldern. But my friends just call me Hail for short.," She introduced herself.
The mysterious teen alien shook the offered hand and smiled.
"I see. It's a pleasure, Hailfire. My name is Zero Kazamaki.," He said. "Incidentally, how did you know what I am?"
Hailfire chuckled before speaking.
"I'll explain it to you on the way, Zero.," Hailfire said.
"Fair enough. We should get going now I suppose.," Zero replied.
The two then walked deeper into the forest and headed towards the structure in the center of the forest.
With Sarai...
Sarai landed safely, a distance away from everyone as she fought off some straggling Airborne Grimm on the way. Now she was seen to be walking towards a certain clearing. She could feel eyes watching her, causing her to stop and sigh in annoyance.
As she predicted, beowolves came from the bushes and rushed at her to attack. She was ready though, as Sarai withdrew her sword from her sheath coating it with fire. But the fire was a bit special, it would only burn its target.
"Searing... Gale!," Sarai cried as her sword lit up in flames as she cut a swath through the Grimm who approached her.
In the midst of her fighting off the Grimm, she heard a voice rushing towards her at the end. She was so focused on the new voice that before she knew it, the grimm had been dealt with. She stopped her sword as the newcomer halted in the middle of a kick aimed at Sarai's head.
"What the.. who are you?," they both said simultaneously.
After the awkward moment, both girls cleared their throats. This was in an attempt to clear up the misunderstanding between them. The other girl spoke up.
She had bright crimson hair, matching eyes, scars on her lower face and on her arms, with tanned skin to go with a red furry tail swinging from her backside. The girl wore a black tank top shirt with small shoulder pads, gray martial artist pants, and Black boots.
"Sorry If I scared you. I'm Scarlett Reinhardt. It's nice to meet you err...?," Scarlett said before realizing she didn't know the other girl's name.
Sarai laughed lightly before shaking Scarlett's hand and introducing herself.
"Sarai Albanar. But just call me Sarai. It's what my friends call me.," Sarai replied.
Scarlett looked at her for a moment before speaking.
"Those eyes and ears... you're a Dark Elf, aren't you?," Scarlett asked curious.
Sarai was a little surprised, but nodded anyways.
"Yeah. I'm... surprised you know that.," Sarai replied.
"It was pretty obvious. The eyes and ears? No one has features quite that distinctive.," Scarlett said.
"Point taken. So... you're my partner then?," Sarai replied.
Scarlett nodded.
"It would seem that way, yes.," she replied.
"Let's head for where everyone else is meeting up.," Sarai said.
Scarlett nodded in agreement as they both began the trek towards the center of the forest.
Elsewhere...
Baron took a couple leaps onto tree branches before using one to slow his descent as he sommersaulted to a stop. He looked around briefly to make sure he wasn't followed before brushing himself off.
"Okay. Looks like I made it. Now then... I have to wonder who my partner will be?," Baron thought to himself.
He figured there wasn't any sense in staying still and began to walk in search of his apparent partner for teams. As he walked, he thought he heard a rather peculiar sound. As Baron neared the source of the sound it sounded like someone was fighting something. But what? Then he remembered, there were Grimm in the forest.
"Maybe someone needs my help?," Baron wondered aloud. "Maybe I'll just take a peek and see if they need help...,"
The dark elf carefully made his way towards the clearing as swiftly and quietly as he could. Once he was in a spot where he could accurately see what was going on, he saw something he never expected to see. There were two girls back to back fighting off a horde of Grimm approaching them. One was a fox faunus with chestnut colored hair and icy blue eyes with a white jacket blue jean colored shorts, a purple undershirt, black knee high stockings, and red and white sneaker like boots.
She fought with what looked like gauntlets that seemingly interchanged into whatever type of weapon the girl could think of at a moment's notice. The other girl had redish brown hair that went down to around her mid back with icy blue eyes and glasses. She wore a red and blue checkered like shirt that blanded in with blue jean shorts, black knee high stockings, white red shoes with white lacing and a long white coat... almost like something a doctor or scientist would wear. She also had several gold rings and bracelets on her fingers and wrists. These matched the trio of ear rings on her right ear.
These two girls were sisters in fact. They fought quite well together, almost seemless. However, Baron noticed that the Fox girl wasn't watching behind her as a group of Beowulf Grimm were getting ready to pounce on her.
"Watch out!," he shouted before jumping in to save the girl.
The Grimm pounced, but were quickly defeated by Baron quickly whipping out his twin blades as he sliced them. In a whirlwind, the Grimm had been defeated with the girl still raising up her arms rather scared until Baron spoke again. He extended his hand towards her and smiled.
"Hey, are you okay?," He asked.
The girl looked up towards him from her position on the ground. Lowering her arms she nodded.
"U-um y-yes I think so. T-Thank you.. for saving me..," She answered shyly.
The other girl slyly smirked before she spoke up.
"Sure that's all you wanted to say, Flare? You looked pretty happy when he asked you if you were okay.," The 2nd girl asked.
The fox girl known as Flare felt heat rush to her face as she slightly glared at her sister.
"Nee san, shh! You're embarrassing me!," Flare said lightly hitting her sister.
The girl chuckled as she turned towards Baron.
"Right right, I'll stop now. Anyways, thank you for saving my sister here. The name's Lazuli Kitsune, nice to meet you.," Lazuli said extending a hand.
Baron took the offered and and shook it.
"Likewise, Lazuli. My name is Baron Caldern.," Baron said in response.
Lazuli then spoke again as she gestured towards her sister.
"And this... is my sister, Flare Kitsune.," Lazuli said introducing the Fox Faunus girl.
Flare then walked forward and shook Baron's hand.
"I-It's n-nice to meet you B-Baron san...," Flare said stuttering and blushing slightly.
Baron smiled and extended his hand towards the girl in greeting.
"And it's a pleasure to meet you too, Flare.," He said.
He then turned towards Lazuli as the realization finally dawned on him.
"I guess this means the three of us are partners then?," Baron asked.
Lazuli thought for a moment and nodded in thought.
"Yeah... I suppose it does. Why don't we head towards where the others are gathering?," She replied.
Baron nodded in agreement.
"That sounds like a good idea, why don't we do that?," Baron suggested.
"Do you know how to get there?," Flare asked.
"More or less. While I don't know exactly what route we'll be taking, I can get us there in reasonable time.," Baron answered.
"Alright. Lead the way then, Baron.," Lazuli said.
Baron nodded and the trio headed off towards the middle of the forest where the other students would be gathering.
Meanwhile, Nearby....
Khanna had long since landed in the forest and was now beginning the search for her partner. She listened for anything out of the ordinary, using her elven senses to the fullest. While she was still, she wasn't defenseless. This was something that the Grimm surrounding her would find out the hard way. Several Grimm charged towards her, intending to bite at her and slash her. What they didn't count on was Khanna being ready for them to attack. Not only was she dodging their blows, she sidestepped them while simultaneously delivering her own set of powerful blows. Using her mix of martial arts and magic power, she not only tore through the horde of monsters, she used the debris from her smashing the ground with her fist as deadly projectiles. Using her magic and her raw strength, Khanna tore throught the monsters by the dozens. Before the battle, she had tossed her weapon skyward as a sort of timer for herself. Almost as if she knew when it was descending, she caught the weapon and slung it onto her back. The grimm all dissipated a moment later, a sign of their defeat. The last group were vaporized, not by her, but someone else. After the fighting was overwith, Khanna finally got to meet her helper face to face. It was revealed to be a faunus girl with red hair, matching wolf ears and a tail. she had a black shirt and a long brown trench coat on , dark colored shorts and brown shoes. Her weapon of choice was unique: a Naginata. She spun it expertly before sticking it blade first into the ground.
"I was coming to see if you needed any help, but uh... it appears that you need didn't any.," The girl said.
Khanna smiled at her before speaking.
"I wouldn't say I didn't need any help. Your help was appreciated with that last bunch. err..?," Khanna said before realizing she had yet to learn this girl's name.
"Oh! Right! My name is Aiko Reinhardt, It's a pleasure to meet you, partner.," Aiko said.
Khanna chuckled and shook the offered hand.
"Parter, right. My name is Khanna.," Khanna replied.
Aiko looked her curiously.
"No last name, Khanna?," The girl asked.
"Oh no, i have one but... if word got out what it is... let's just say it'd be a giant hassle to try sorting out and explaining.," she replied.
Aiko thought for a moment and then nodded, she wouldn't pry into the reason why Khanna chose to hide her surname. She figured that was none of her business.
"I see. Well, it's nice to meet you, Khanna. I suppose we're partners now, aren't we?," Aiko replied.
Khanna and Aiko then shook hands as they then looked towards the deeper part of the forest. The dark elf then cracked her knuckles in anticipation as she looked towards her partner.
Aiko looked back before twirling her dust weapon.
"Shall we?," Khanna asked.
"Sure. After you, partner.," Aiko said.
The duo then walk off into the woods towards where they feel that their teammates are gathering.
Meanwhile...
A certain black haired teen with a long red trenchcoat was seen landing in a crouch landing. He had black spiked hair, matching eyes, and a brown tail that swayed behind him. His outfit consisted of long gray gloves, white sleeves for the coat, black pants, dark blue boots, and blue and gold belt around his waist.
This Saiyan then wondered what he was doing here before sighing in resignation. The least he could do was 'play the part' of a student even though he felt like he wasn't one. He needed to find his brother first and figure out just what was going on here.
He began walking as he attempted to search for his apparent 'partner' for this test.
"Tch, this is such a waste of time! But... may as well play along I guess... ," The teen thought.
Wheeling around to face them, the teen slipped into a martial arts stance, prepared to fend off the grimm. The beowolves were the first ones to charge at him. As they tried biting and clawing him, the teen simply side stepped their attacks and responded accordingly with strikes of his own.
Taking some form of a hint, the Grimm started to back away from the teen and began to sprint the opposite direction. Well, they would've.. but they didn't get very far before suddenly being vaporized by a stray Ki blast and cut in half by a blade made of energy.
The teen sighed before looking to see that his partner was none other than a certain relative of his.
"And.. of course, you're my partner. We just can't seem to get away from one another for very long, isn't that right, Shallot?," The teen asked.
The teen looked over and rubbed the back of his head while grinning.
"Heh, heh.. guess not.. Giblet. Guess that means we're partners, eh?," Shallot replied.
Giblet sighed again before playfully hitting his brother on top of the head.
"I litterally just said that, doofus...," Giblet said.
"Sorry, bro...," Shallot apologized.
Giblet sighed in annoyance.
"It's fine. May as well roll with it now anyways.," Giblet replied back.
Shallot nodded in agreement before looking to his older sibling again.
"So... what now, Giblet?," Shallot asked.
Giblet sighed again, he had to explain this too didn't he? He couldn't stay mad though, Shallot was his younger brother after all. The two of them were all each other had, because of this fact, Giblet let his momentary anger and annoyance with his brother subside as he explained what their next step was.
"We head towards where everyone else is undoubtedly going... the ruins in the middle of the Forrest.," Giblet explained.
The fellow teen with black hair, matching eyes, and a brown tail raised a curious eyebrow in thought before snapping his fingers in realization.
"Where the relics for the test are, right?," Shallot asked.
Giblet nodded.
"Exactly. And that's where we'll find everyone else.," Giblet answered.
Shallot may have been younger, but he wasn't an idiot either. He was pretty sharp witted when he really put his mind to it. The only difference between the two brothers, aside from their hair style, was their attire. While Giblet preferred wearing a dark coat and gloves, hiding his tail from sight.. Shallot, was the polar opposite.
He wore navy blue armor with a black undershirt and pants, his brown tail freely swinging behind him. Shallot of course, preferred not to wear gloves, instead opting to expose his hands.
The two brothers then turned and headed towards the middle of the forrest where the other teens were gathering.
(Now onto the Rwby cast...)
With Ruby...
A black bird is seen to be flying in the air without a care in the world until... Ruby is seen to be zipping past it as it plummets in a burst of feathers.
"Ah! Birdie, no!," Ruby cries out in fright.
Ruby fires off a few rounds from Crescent Rose to slow her down, then turns the weapon into its scythe form to catch the branch of a tree in her blade and fall downward at a slower pace.
The scene quickly switches to Weiss, armed with Myrtenaster, as she summons a white snowflake circle under her and leaps off of it to the forest below.
Then Ren descends (with Nora Valkyrie briefly being seen next to him at a faster speed) and spins in the air, eventually using StormFlower's blades to spiral around the trunk of a large tree and hit the ground, brushing off his clothes before looking up to see...
"Woo-hoo! Yeah! Alley-oop!," a certain blonde haired brawler cries in excitement.
Yang is seen to be soaring right over the treetops, is using her gauntlets and its fiery force to push her through the air further and further north. She spins and laughs with each blast, even when she crashes through the leaves of a tree and leaps off two trunks to tumble to the ground.
"Nailed it!," she says to no one in particular as she then dashes away.
Next, the camera switches to a view of Pyrrha Nikos, the 4 time regional champion of Mistral. She already has her weapon in sword form and armed with a shield, crashes through several trees and rolls on a branch, immediately shifting her blade into a rifle. The girl looks through the scope of her rifle and immediately spots a certain blonde haired knight. Feeling like she has to do something to help him, Pyrrha shifts her weapon into spear form as she calculates the trajectory of her throw. After a moment, she then rocketed her throw deep into the forrest until an audible "THUNK!" was heard.
This signaled that Jaune had indeed been saved by some very timely thinking of Pyrrha.
"Thank you!," Jaune said from the distance.
Pyrrha waved, embarrassed as she responds to him.
"I'm sorry!," Pyrrha replied.
Times Pyrrha says "I'm sorry!": 1
The camera then shifts back to Ruby, as she lands in a crouch on the ground before speeding off with a single mantra on her mind:
"Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang, gotta find Yang, gotta find...," Ruby pauses as she imagines herself partnered up with different people before continuing her train of thought.
"Yang! Yaaaang! Oh, this is bad, this is really bad... What if I can't find her? What if someone finds her first? Well, there's always Jaune. He's nice. He's funny! ...I don't think he's very good in a fight, though. Ooh, what about Blake?! So mysterious, so calm... Plus she likes books! Then again, I'm not sure I'd be able to hold a conversation with her... Ugh! Think, Ruby! Who else at Beacon do you know besides your own sister?" Ruby asked herself.
A certain dark skinned elf popped into her mind as she was thinking of people.
"I... (blushes slightly) I.. guess there's Roy... He's nice too! And strong and handsome... wah! No, no, no! Bad Ruby! Roy's your friend, and you just met him! I can't be thinking things like that about him! But... he'd be good as a partner. Who else do you know at this school? Yang, Jaune, Blake, Roy, his brother Odyn, Sarai, Khanna, aaaand..." Ruby thought before the camera pans as Ruby skids to a halt in front of Weiss as she is turning to face her.
She stops just in time for their eyes to meet and a pregnant pause follows. This ends when Weiss turns on her heel and walks the other way, confusing the silver eyed girl.
Ruby us seen to be following after the Schnee as Weiss is trying to distance herself from her.
"Wait!, Where are you going?!," Ruby asks upset before kicking the dust on the ground dejectedly. "We're supposed to be teammates..."
The scene then shifts as Weiss is seen struggling through the forest, giving an occasional grunt or "Ow!" as she pushes plants out of her way. She brushes herself off and sighs in relief when she hears a voice above her.
Jaune is seen to be apparently struggling to free himself of the weapon that has him pinned to a tree by the back of his shirt.
" Come on, come on! Stupid...!," Jaune says trying to free himself.
Weiss sees Jaune hanging a few feet in the air by the spear embedded in his hood and the tree behind him. As he gives up trying to pull it out, he looks down and sees Weiss, giving an embarrassed wave. Weiss simply heads back in the direction she came from and Jaune groans in dejection.
Weiss then passed by Ruby bfore pulling on her hood and dragging her the other way.
"By no means does this make us friends in the slightest.," Weiss said stoically.
Ruby, of course, is overjoyed that Weiss came back to her and sticks up her arms in excitement as she's being dragged away from Jaune by the Schnee.
"You came back!," Ruby exclaims hapily as she's dragged by Weiss into the bushes by her cloak.
Jaune waves his arms, trying to gain the Schnee's attention as he sees the scene play out.
"Wait! Come back! Who's going to get me down from here?!," Jaune cries out in vain as the two girls disappeared into the foliage.
He then slumps in disappointment as he's left up there in the tree. He was wondering how he was going to get down by himself, fortunately, someone had already arrived to help him... a certain red haired gladiator with green eyes spoke from below him.
"Jaune?" She asked.
Jaune looks down below at his savior as she continues her thought.
"Is... it too late to join your team? I mean.. if you have any spots left, that is?," Pyrrha asked.
"Very funny...," He said slightly unamused.
He eventually looks down and smiles at Pyrrha, a gesture which she returned towards him.
The scene then returns to Weiss trudging through the forrest, with Ruby back a ways behind her.
"What's the hurry?" Ruby asked.
Weiss scoffed.
"What's the hurry? I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow! I swear, if I get a bad grade because of your—," Weiss complained before stopping mid sentence, due to a smiling Ruby appearing right next to her. "What the-?!"
"I'm not slow, see? You don't have to worry so much about me.," Ruby replied.
Weiss was still seen to be looking back, slightly amazed.
"When did you...?," Weiss began to ask, still surprised.
"Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters! (She puts an arm around a very skeptical looking Weiss' shoulders) You're about to see a whole different side of me today, Weiss, and after it's all over, you're going to be like, "Wow! That Ruby girl is really, really cool... (in somewhat of a mousily voice) and I wanna be her friend!",Ruby said before disappearing in a burst of Rose petals.
Weiss is then seen waving away the petals from her face, just as she hears rustling and crackling from the bushes around herself. Thinking it was Ruby, the heiress called out to the petite silver eyed girl.
"You may be fast, but you still excel at wasting time!," Weiss said to which there was no answer.
She was expecting some kind of response from Ruby, but heard nothing but silence.
"Ruby?", Weiss called out again to no answer.
The forrest then darkens, prompting Weiss to lean into the foliage and attempt to find her new partner. A pair of gleaming red eyes were seen to be glaring behind the Schnee.
"Ruby...?" Weiss called out to her partner again.
The camera revolves around Weiss, as multiple pairs of red eyes stare at her from the bushes and a deep growl is heard. She turns around until she spots a large, jagged Beowolf emerging from a bush and approaching her.
Weiss scowls and draws her rapier as the Beowolf roars, msking the screen turn to black.
The screen comes back into focus as an overhead view of the Emerald Forest as the camera pans down into the misty underbrush, where Yang Xiao Long is seen to be walking and looking around. She's in fact, in search of her partner for this test.
She's seen to be cupping her hands as she calls out, hoping someone will answer her.
" Helloooooooo? Is anyone out there? Helloooo?," She calls out not noticing the dark shadow that quickly rushes by.
She raises up her arms as a result of not receiving an audible answer.
"I'm getting bored here!"
She then notices a rustling in bushes and goes to investigate it.
"Is someone there? "
The rustling sound continues, making her wonder if it was her sister.
"Ruby? Is that you?"
Instead, A low, inhuman growl is heard, and Yang's head rises up as she stares at the creature.
"Nope, not Ruby!" Yang says as she jumps back and slides into a defensive stance.
She quickly rolls to the side as an Ursa charges out of the green. She gets up and activates her Dust Weapon Gauntlets ( Ember Celica), staring at the monster before another Ursa runs out behind her. She leaps over it, and its companion runs at her again, only to get knocked back by a fiery punch.
The other Ursa and Yang charge at each other, and Yang manages to get under it and deliver several punches and a kick to send the creature back.
"You guys wouldn't happen to have seen a girl in a red hood, would you?," The blonde brawler asked.
The Ursai merely growl at her, to which she shrugs.
"You could've just said no." Yang said shrugging.
One of the Ursai stands on its legs and swipes at her twice, Yang barely managing to dodge the attacks.
"Geeezzz, you guys couldn't even hit the broad side of ba...," Yang started but then stopped mid sentence as she saw some of her golden hairs hit the forrest floor.
Yang closed her eyes as she began to shake in anger.
"You... (her eyes shot open to reveal that they'd now turned red in anger) You monster!!!!," Yang screamed in anger making the two Grimm look confusedly towards each other.
An inferno surrounds Yang for a moment, and she rockets forward, unleashing a devastating combo of flaming hits and blows on the offending Ursa, making it fly through several burning trees. The other monster runs over, but stops short at Yang's gaze while a tree falls to the ground behind her.
"What?! You want some this too?!," Yang asked still angered.
The Ursa rears up and prepares to strike... right when a whirling noise is heard and the monster makes a befuddled noise, falling down. A second later, it is revealed that Blake Belladonna has her Dust Weapon (Gambol Shroud) imbedded into tye beast's back.
Yang pants in exhaustion while Blake recalls the weapon back to her hand, sheathing it on her back and smiling to the side (or the audience, if she broke the fourth wall). Yang, who's eyes are back to their normal Lilac purple color, speaks to her new partner over the smoking remains of the monster.
"Thanks for the help, but I could've totally taken him.," Yang said.
Blake just nods as she flings the monster blood off of her weapon before the blonde comes towards her.
"Yeah, I realize that.," Blake said.
Back with Weiss...
The scene suddenly changes back to Weiss' precarious situation from earlier as she is now surrounded on all sides by Beowolves. She is seen to be deflecting the swipe from a Beowolf with her Myrtenaster and getting pushed back into the middle of the beastly circle. The situation wasn't ideal for her, but she never panicked. She was trained for situations just like this one.
She holds out her sword as she goes through her dueling motions and practices.
" Remember your training, Weiss. Head up, shoulders back, right foot forward — not that forward! — slow your breathing, wait for the right time to strike, and... (brings her rapier up, the revolver spinning) Now!" Weiss thought.
Weiss dashes forward with her loaded weapon at the Beowolf in front of her, just when Ruby suddenly appears between the two in a blur of rose petals and a swipe of her Crescent Rose scythe, landing a hit on the monster.
"Gotcha!", Ruby said in excitement.
Weiss widens her eyes and screams as she quickly has to stop, swinging the sword in a random direction and creating a line of fire that sets a nearby tree ablaze, followed quickly by the rest of the forest around the clearing.
Ruby, who was distracted by Weiss' slip up isn't defended very well when the same Beowolf scratches at her weapon, knocking the younger girl into the heiress.
"Hey, watch it!", Ruby said.
"Excuse me?! You attacked out of turn back there! I could have killed you!" Weiss argued.
Ruby pouted as she didn't like what Weiss was suggesting. She was greatly underestimating her abilities!
"You'll have to try a lot harder than that..." Ruby said upset.
The duo wield their arms as the pack of Beowolves whine and growl around them. Ruby reloads her scythe just as a flaming tree falls near them. Gaining the Schnee's attention. She suddenly grabs Ruby's arm and drags her off and away from the scene.
"We need to leave NOW!," Weiss said grabbing the girl's wrist.
She leads Ruby out of the blaze as it engulfs the grass and sets the Grimm to running back the way they came or suffering in the fire.
"What was that, weiss?! That should've been easy for you!," Ruby asked curious but also slightly upset.
Weiss scoffed as she responded to Ruby, not at all amused with Ruby's attitude.
"Well perhaps it would have been IF you exercised even the tiniest bit of caution in the placement of your strikes! Then, maybe... I wouldn't have set the forrest on fire!," Weiss replied angrily.
Now it was Ruby's turn to scoff, as she did in response to Weiss' claim.
"What's that supposed to mean?," Ruby scoffed.
"I'm just surprised someone who talks so much would communicate so little during an encounter!," Weiss argued.
"Well , I'm sorry you need my help to win a fight. I'm just fine on my own!," Ruby replied angrily.
Weiss crossed her arms, skeptical as she proceeded to then mock her younger partner.
"Well, congratulations on being the strongest child to sneak your way into Beacon. Bravo!," Weiss said mockingly.
"You don't know anything about me, stupid heiress!,"Ruby snapped.
"Oh, i think i know plenty! Aren't you a little too young to be here anyways?," Weiss argued.
Ruby became angrier as small tears formed in the corners of her eyes.
"SHUT UP! It's not my fault they decided to let me in 2 years early! What was I supposed to do? Tell them, no thanks, I'll get back to you guys in 2 years?!," Ruby shouted at the Schnee.
Weiss nodded.
"Exactly, because that's the proper protocol! No wonder you're still a child! Just do us a favor and run back home to your mom and dad and try again in a couple years.," Weiss said.
Ruby then shouted at her again, because what Weiss said touched a sore spot for the girl.
"That may be how it is for you rich families, but it doesn't work that way for those of us who are poor! And I can't do that...," Ruby said shaking.
"And why can't you?," Weiss asked.
"BECAUSE MY MOM'S DEAD! She died on a mission when I was really young! (Begins tearing up) I hope you're happy now, stupid princess!," Ruby said as she ran off crying.
"Now see here..," Weiss sighs as she begins to feel bad now for what she said to the girl. " Ruby, wait! I'm sorry...," Weiss said as she ran to catch up to Ruby.
A Large Dark Feather then falls to the ground behind them.
Meanwhile with Pyrrha and Jaune...
Meanwhile across the Forest, Pyrrha Nikos, armed with Miló and Akoúo̱, and Jaune Arc are making their way through the bushes. Jaune hears a noise far away and turns his head.
"Did you hear that?," he asked.
Pyrrha turns her head to the noise as a look of recognition crosses her face.
" Gunfire, most likely. It seems some of our comrades have encountered the enemy." Pyrrha replied.
They keep moving forward, Jaune still staring in the sound's direction as Pyrrha raises a branch to pass by and accidentally releases it right at Jaune's face, flooring him instantly.
The redhead grows concerned and quickly rushes over to Jaune to check on him.
"Oh my goodness, Jaune, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!," Pyrrha asked concerned.
Jaune lowers his hand from the his face to reveal a large gash on the side of his face as he chuckles.
"It's fine. Just a scratch, see?," Jaune replied as he instantly gets back up to his feet as Pyrrha is seen to be approaching him in concern.
"Why didn't you activate your aura, Jaune?," she asked out of concern.
She still wasn't convinced that he wasn't hurt, the red head was just ensuring that Jaune was alright.
Jaune raised a confused eyebrow.
"Huh, my what?" He asked puzzled.
"Your Aura. Why didn't you Activate it just then?," Pyrrha asked.
"My Aura?," Jaune asked.
Pyrrha nodded.
Jaune rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed with a smile.
"See... uh.. the thing is... I umm.. never really learned what Aura is.," Jaune admitted.
Pyrrha raised a confused eyebrow.
"You... never learned about Aura?," Pyrrha asked a little dumbfounded.
She was taken aback by that knowledge, but she was also curious as to how and why Jaune never learned about it. Knowledge of Aura was the most basic piece of info an aspiring Huntsman could ever have on their journey to become one.
"I know... it's silly that I don't know something so basic, right?," Jaune replied a little ashamed.
Pyrrha sighed and offered a small smile towards the blonde haired knight.
"No, of course it's not silly Jaune... While it may be... surprising that you don't have that knowledge, it doesn't mean you're any less of a Huntsman than anyone else here. If you don't know what Aura is.. I'll just have to help you learn what it is.," Pyrrha replied.
"Thanks, for doing this.. I'm pretty far behind everyone else, aren't I?," Jaune said back.
"Maybe just a bit.. But with a little help, I'm sure you'll catch up to them in no time! Just hang in there, Jaune.," Pyrrha encouraged him.
The ginger haired gladiator smiles as she then begins to explain the concept of Aura to the blonde haired knight. The scene switches to Lie Ren's trek through the forest's tall grass as she begins her explanation in the background.
"Aura is the manifestation of our soul. It bears our burdens and shields our hearts. Have you ever felt you were being watched without knowing that someone was there?"
"Now that you mention it... yeah... I have.."
(A/N: for this scene Jaune and Pyrrha's conversation is mostly off screen)
Ren stops and narrows his eyes, looking around him while a huge black Grimm serpent rises up from the grass behind him and quickly surrounds him with its large, hissing body. Ren adopts a fighting stance as the snake coils together in front of him and attacks with its long fangs.
The scene switches back to Pyrrha who is circling Jaune.
"With practice, our Aura can be our shield. Everyone has it, even animals.", Pyrrha said.
"How about Monsters? Do they have it too?," Jaune asks.
The scene goes back to Ren.
"No, they don't. "
Ren is seen to be leaping out of the way, as the snake's mouth hits the ground. The snake instantly comes back up to hit a leaping Ren with its snout.
"The monsters we fight lack a soul. They are creatures of Grimm, the manifestation of anonymity."
Ren lands in a crouch when the serpent encircles him again, and he unleashes his dual Dust Weapon pistols [StormFlower] before jumping up and firing at the creature.
"They are the darkness, and we are the light."
As Ren is seen to be kicking the snake's snout before slashing its head with blade like attachments featured on the weapons, Jaune speaks up again off screen.
"Right, that's why we fight them!"
"In a sense, yes. But it's not about why; it's about knowing more than anything."
The snake is seen to be flowing around Ren and tries to bite him again, but he flips over it and drives his weapons into its head, pausing a moment without sensing the serpent's white head behind him.
"Understanding dark and light helps us manifest our Aura. Everyone has some of both."
Ren turns and looks up at the white head as it launches itself at him, dodging it and landing just in time to see the head slither towards him. As it gets closer, he runs at it and leaps onto the black head, sliding over its body and blasting the other head.
" By baring your soul outward as a force, you can deflect harm. All of our tools and equipment are conduits for Aura. You protect yourself and your soul when fighting."
Ren is unfortunately ill prepared and caught off guard for the white half to hit him with its head, knocking him off as he drops his weapons, and leaving him to merely raise his arms and distantly cry "No!" to the mouth of the black head.
It switches back to a view of Jaune opening his eyes and snapping his fingers in revelation.
"Oh! You mean it's like... a force field! Right?!" Jaune asked excited.
Pyrrha has look that says "I never really thought of it in that way before" as she just stared at Jaune in thought.
"Uh.. Sure, if you want to look at it that way.," she replied.
The camera then switches back to Ren, who is now holding the front fangs of the colossal snake in his hands, glowing a faint, pulsating pink as he grips the teeth and yanks them from the monster's mouth, causing it to flail away. It attempts to bite him again, but Ren spins to the side and stabs a fang into its eye, rotating his arm to deliver a final blow that drives the makeshift weapon into its skull, which ripples, expands, and blows apart in a dark mess as its headless body falls over its fellow creature.
Ren wastes no time, and charges right at the white Snake head.
The view then switches back to Pyrrha walking up to Jaune as she then touches his face.
"Now, close your eyes Jaune. This will only take a moment.", Pyrrha said.
Jaune is rightfully nervous, but complies as he does as Pyrrha asks him to.
"Oh o-okay...," Jaune nervously replies.
Pyrrha smiles and closes her own eyes, opening them as her skin glows and her irises shrink before shutting them again. The two stand there, now with Pyrrha glowing a faint red and Jaune a bright white.
"For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death.," Pyrrha mentally speaks as she places her hand on Jaune's chest before continuing.
" I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee.", Pyrrha mentally finishes her spell as she hunches over in slight fatigue.
Jaune's eyes widen as he sees Pyrrha hunched over. He looks over concerned as he was still emmanating light from having his Aura unlocked.
"Pyrrha?," He asked concerned.
Pyrrha puts her hand up to assuage her friend's concerns as she smiled at him.
"It's all right, Jaune. I just used my Aura to unlock yours, but the energy that protects you now is your own.," She assured him.
Pyrrha grins as she watches the scratch on Jaune's face close up and ultimately vanish.
"You.. have a lot of it, more than I've ever seen in one person.," Pyrrha said with a smile.
Jaune is seen smiling as he looks at his hands before the light surrounding him subsides.
"Wow.... So this... is my Aura?," Jaune said in amazement.
The scene then switches back to Ren, as he stands atop of the body of his enemy, sliding the weapons into his sleeves and brushing them off before a strange, animal-like noise is heard above him twice. Looking up above him, it is revealed to be the upside down eyes of his friend, Nora Valkyrie.
"I still don't think that's how a sloth sounds.," Ren said chuckling at his friend.
In response to this, Nora gives her friend a "Boop!" on the nose, causing him to smile and the scene cuts to black.
End Chapter...

Ending: Reincarnated as a Sword ending 1
Visuals: Weiss is seen in her home with her head down as her knees hug her chest. It then transitions to Weiss looking skyward and running across a field before stopping and seeing Odyn as a child. The children stare at each other before it transitions to them as adults(young adults/teenagers) running towards each other from different perspectives. The song ends as the two are seen to be walking towards each other with Odyn smiling and reaching out his hand towards Weiss. Weiss turns away and blushes for a second before accepting the hand. The two hold hands as they walk towards the distance in a freeze frame.

Anyways, this unique retelling of the flame crimson story will be... interesting as it will require more thought seeing as Weiss is the main girl this time. And yes, I do plan on writing stories with both Yang and Blake as the main girl at some point, but that's further down the road right now lol 😂. But I'm glad you guys are enjoying the story so far. That's really all for now, until the next time!
