Chapter 2- Initiation and Teams II

______________________________________________

Ruby and Weiss are seen hanging for dear life to something dark, very feathery, and very fast. This was evidenced by the loud and rushing wind blowing them sideways. Weiss was shouting so Ruby could hear her over the loud wind.

Weiss: Ruby! I told you this was terrible idea!

Ruby: [raises her voice as well] Ah we're fine! Stop worrying about it!

Weiss gives Ruby an agitated look before responding to her.

Weiss: I am so far beyond worrying!

Ruby dons a hopeful look at this only to have it shot down by Weiss' response.

Ruby: In a good way?

Weiss: No! In a bad way! In a very bad way! This is easily the CRAZIEST idea you've had yet!

Ruby: Well, why dont we just jump?

Weiss' eyes widen in shock and surprise that she would even suggest such a thing. There was nothing, NO THING below them to catch their fall! Why would anyone jump from this high up?

Weiss: WHAT?! Are you INSANE?! No way way am i-

Weiss looks around, but is met with silence as Ruby has already disappeared on her.

Weiss: Ruby? Where are-?

Weiss feels a vein about to pop on her head from this. How dare Ruby leave her hanging onto this giant bird for dear life all by herself.

Weiss: Oh, you insufferable little Red-!

The scene switches to down on the ground in the abandoned temple that was in a clearing.

Yang and Blake are of course, the first ones to arrive... or so they thought. Looking to their left, Yang spotted the dark skinned boy she'd seen with Ruby before the initiation exam. He was with another girl who also ahd pointed ears. She had brought back two chess pieces that were silver in color. The blonde raised an eyebrow at this. She'd never even seen this other girl before. Blake came back with a pair of black chess pieces.

Blake: Should we head back towards the instructors now?

Yang shook her head. It was only polite to wait for the other applicants to arrive first before heading back to complete the exam.

Yang: Nah, we should wait. At least until Ruby and her partner get here to collect their relics.

Blake: Ok then.

The two girls then walked over and took a rest at a spot of grass near a tree where the other duo was. Yang noticed the weaponry of the other pointed eared girl was bizzarre to say the least. While she had a sword and shield, they were unlike anything the blonde had seen before.

Yang raised an eyebrow, that was some bizzarre looking weaponry. However, she didn't have very long to look at the bizzarre weaponry due to the next pair of teens coming into the clearing. She recognized the boy as the Redhead she was eyeing when they got to beacon. The other girl was what appeared to be a fox faunus with Auburn hair, ears, and tail. The boy walked into the ruins and grabbed the other two silver chess pieces before joining the Blue haired teen. It was like they were waiting for someone.

Not too much later, the girl with pointed ears and black hair came into the clearing. She was with a boy who had a red gi, a gray shirt, shoes, black hair, and red eyes. He also had light skin and a brown monkey tail, swaying behind him. The two grabbed gray chess pieces, and stood by the others to wait. A few minutes went by, before like clockwork the next pair... or trio came tothe clearing. That was odd.. it was only supposed to be two, but there were three. Yang saw the boy as the other one of the group who was with Ruby when she came to the gym prior to this initiation exam. While the boy and girl in similar garb as the the black ahired girl from before waited, the dark skinned and flame eyed boy grabbed the three other gray chess pieces. That was kind of weird though, why would there be three chess pieces?

Yang shook her head, there wasn't any use thinking about it. What happened jus then happened.

Blake is then seen looking skyward, in fact all of the teens gathered there were.

Yang: Blake, did you hear that? What should we do?

Ruby was falling right towards them, finally gaining Yang's attention.

Ruby: Heads uuuuuuuup!

Just as she's about to hit the ground panicking, Odyn jumps out and catches Ruby, carrying her bridal style. Jaune Arc suddenly comes flying through the air and ends up crashing into both Odyn and Ruby. This knocks both of them off course, sending them into a tree with Odyn taking the brunt of the impact from the tree to the left of where Blake and Yang stood. Ruby is momentarily dazed by the landing as there are stars and beowolves circling her head for a moment.

Ruby: Ohhh... What was that?

The dizziness passes when she shakes her head and notices that someone had caught her. She looks up to see that Odyn was the one to catch her. For areason, yet unknown to her, Ruby is seen blushing as she thanks Odyn for saving her.

Odyn: Are you okay, Ruby?

Ruby: Y-Yeah... T-Thank you Odyn.

Odyn smiles at her.

Odyn: You're welcome Ruby. I wasn't about to let you get hurt like that. Plus... i think your sister would've had my head had I not acted to save you.

Ruby: *Blushes* O-Oh R-Right. *nervous laughter* U-Um... O-Odyn?

Odyn: Yes, what is it Ruby?

Ruby: (a deep blush is shown on her face) I appreciate you saving me, b-but... c-could y-you please put me down now?

Odyn realized he was still holding Ruby and he quickly put her down as he too sported a very noticeable blush on his face because of this.

Odyn: (Blushing out of embarrassment) O-Oh! Yeah, S-Sorry Ruby!

Ruby is seen then still blushing as she rubs her arm and shifts her feet nervously.

Jaune then catches their attention by clearing his throat. Ruby looks up to see Jaune hanging up side down in a tree branch above her.

Jaune: Eh-hem! Hey Ruby... Odyn..

Ruby: Oh, Jaune! Hi.

Jaune: Hi. Can someone get me down, please?

Odyn: Hang on Jaune, I'll get you down. My bad, I should've seen you there.

Jaune: Nah, it's cool man. I figured Ruby was more important since she's a girl and all. Making sure she was okay was obviously more important just then.

Odyn went to help Jaune get Jaune down from the tree branch.

Back on the ground with Blake and Yang looking at the tree.

Blake: Did... your sister just.... fall from the sky, Yang?

Yang: I....

Before she can answer Blake's question though, several crashing noises are heard in the forest ahead of them. An Ursa comes out, swiping its claws only for a pink blast of energy to hit it in the back as it crashes to the ground depositing its rider.

Nora: YEEEE-HAAAAW!

She's seen rolling off its back, then she gets up and groans. She becomes saddened at the loss of her ride.

Nora: Awwww... It's broken.

She dashes onto the neck of the creature, observing it as Ren comes up behind her. Ren pants and leans onto the monster.

Ren: Nora! Please... Don't ever do something like that again.

He looks up and noticed by the pink dotted outline of where his partner was supposed to be, that she was no longer there. He slapped his palm aaginst his forehead knowing Nora has run off yet again. He's seen looking around frantically for her.

Nora is now in the abandoned temple, staring a golden rook piece.

Nora: Oooohhh...

She suddenly grabs it, puts it on her head and begins to dance while singing with the chess piece atop her head.

Nora: I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!

Ren: [offscreen] Nora!

Nora then stop dancing with it and salutes, the relic dropping into her hand as she skips off towards her friend.

Nora: Coming, Ren! [suddenly teleports to Ren after just being in the temple a second ago]

Blake was so confused now and voiced her confusion.

Blake: Did.... that girl just.. ride in on top of an ursa?

Yang: I....

Yang is interrupted again as a loud screech is heard from her right. Pyrrha Nikos comes into the scene as a Deathstalker is seen uprooting trees while chasing her. Pyrrha narrowly dodges its giant claws as she keeps on running from it. She calls out to Jaune.

Pyrrha: Jaune!

Jaune: Pyrrha!

Jaune is on the ground at this point, after Odyn had cut him down from the tree branch he hung to.

Ruby: Whoa!

She is about to start running, when Odyn unsheathes the blade from his back and blocks the monster's blow. This allows her time to distance herself from the scorpion monster as she rolls out of the way of its other claw.

Jaune: [whining] Ruby!

Yang calls out to Ruby as the raven black and red haired girl stands baack up.

Yang: Ruby!

Ruby: [excited] Yang! [she raises her arms, attempting to give her sister a hug]

Nora: Nora!

She pops in between the two sisters, knocking them off balance in surprise.

The Scorpion Grim creature continues to chase after Pyrrha as she runs. It'd locked onto to Pyrrha again after briefly being held back by Odyn. At this point, all of the teens with pointed ears had drawn their weapons in anticipation of a fight.

Blake was still confused as to what was happening right now.

Blake: Did... she just run all the way here with a Death Stalker on her tail?

Yang clenches her fists and growls in annoyance as she is getting angrier and angrier. Finally, she had enough of this and erupts as a small burst of flames comes to life behind her causing her eyes to turn red.

Yang: I can't take it anymore! Can everyone please just chill out for like... i don't know 2 seconds before something else crazy happens again?!

The sounds of a clock tick tocking and counting down the two seconds of Yang cooling down, Ren running over to a ditzy Nora, Odyn and the other elves with their partners guarding the group, and Blake and Ruby looking up towards the sky.

Ruby: Umm... Yang?

Yang: what is it, Rubes?

Ruby tugs on her sister's sleeve and points. High above them, Weiss is seen to be hanging on for dear life to a talon that is the size of her whole body. That talong belongs to a giant Nevermore grim. Weiss is then heard calling down to Ruby as everyone looks up.

Weiss: Ruby! How could you leave me?!

Ruby then shouts towards Weiss so the heiress could hear her.

Ruby: I did say to "jump!"

Blake looked a little worried and voiced her concern aloud to everyone.

Blake: She's gonna fall if she keeps squirming like that.

Ruby: [scoffing] Pssh, she'll be fine.

Sure enough, Weiss squirmed so much that she caused the Nevermore to squawk, causing her to be flung off and begin to fall.

Ren: She's falling. [Ren points as Ruby and the others look up to see that Weiss is indeed falling.]

Jaune grins as he sees Weiss falling through the air thinking now was his time to shine and impress her. He jumps into the air with his arms outstretched, catching her in a slowed down moment. He smiles at her and speaks.

Odyn: Wait Jaune do- aannnddd.. too late. [Odyn turns away knowing what will take place next]

Jaune: Just... dropping in?

Weiss is speechless in Jaune soon realizes why when they both look down.

Jaune: Oh boy...

They both began to plummet as Jaune realized too late, he'd jumped too high. Their moment of suspension ends as he screams on the way down.

Jaune: Oh, noooooooooo.... Ooomph!

Jaune does a face plant in the dirt, his limbs spread out. Weiss is seen being carried by the boy with red eyes and spiky black hair. Weiss looks down and gives the blonde a dry look.

Weiss: My hero....

Jaune: [groaning] Oooooohhh... that... hurt.....

Meanwhile, the Death Stalker was still hunting Pyrrha. She manages to still dodge its attacks and manages to land on her side at the feet of the other teens. Yang then pipes up as everyone was now together.

Yang: Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!

Roy: Egal Vanin Dahstoreth!

Yang raised an eyebrow at this, confused. Was he speaking another language or something?

The teen with the dark skin and red hair spoke up after unsheathing his blade.

Roy: Never give in, Xiao Long! So long as you have blood to spill and fire in your heart, there is a path to victory. We will find a way to survive this. If you want to give in, fine. But...

Roy then grabs Yang by her collar as he stares her straight in her lilac colored pupils.

Roy: I'M NOT LETTING YOU DIE HERE! I will drag you back to Beacon on my stomach if I have to!

Yang's eyes shot open in surprise. She never expected to hear that from Roy. For some reason, that speech of Roy's made her smirk. It inspired her.

While this was going on, Ruby rushed towards the oncoming Death Stalker.

Ruby: Not if i can help it! [unleashes a battle cry as she rushes at the grim]

Odyn: Ruby, no wait! [worriedly reaches his hand out towards Ruby]

Yang: Ruby wait!

Ruby, still screaming,then fires crescent rose and charges towards the scorpion grim. When the two clash, the grim easily swipes Ruby away and she is knocked back.

Odyn: Agh! darn it, Ruby! [he readies his blade as he goes rushing after Ruby]

Ruby is seen getting up slowly as she struggles to stand back up.

Ruby: D-Do-Don't worry! Totally fine!

Ruby turns back to the monster and shoots it in the skull. She then runs way from it, sheathing her scythe as the Death Stalker now goes after her. Yang then runs forward to go after Ruby.

Yang: Ruby!

Ruby rushes towards her sister, but the Nevermore caws above them. Flapping its giant wings, it releases lines of sharpened feathers with points that catch onto Ruby's cape and prevents Yang from reaching her. Yang's eyes widen in fear as she is now very worried for her sister's safety.

Yang: Ruby, get out of there!

Ruby is trying, but is struggling to break free of being pinned down. She is trying to pull her cape free, but is having difficulty doing so.

Ruby: I'm... trying!

Now the Death Stalker approaches, raising its stinger towards her. Ruby shuts her eyes as the stinger comes down towards her. Yang reaches out in vain towards Ruby.

Yang: Ruby!

Just then a Blue blur races past Yang and reaches the stinger in a heartbeat, just as it is inches away from piercing her. A white blur accompanies the blue blur and reaches the scorpion grim at the same time as the scene goes to black before the ringing of metal and the sound of ice freezing something is heard.

Weiss: [off-screen] You are so childish!

Odyn: [off-screen] Whew! That was close!

Ruby opens her eyes to the sight of the stinger being held back by a gold and silverish blade, while being encased in ice. She lowers her arms from their futile position over her head as she stares at her savior or... saviors?

Ruby: Weiss..? And... Odyn?!

Odyn then saluted to Ruby, relieved that she was okay and wasn't harmed.

Weiss on the other hand, removed Myrtenastr from the ice and began to berate Ruby for being so reckless.

Weiss continued her rant.

Weiss:And dim-witted, and hyperactive, and don't even get me started on your fighting style. And I suppose I can be a bit... difficult... but if we're going to do this, we're going to have to do this together. So if you quit trying to show off, I'll be... nicer.

Ruby: But.. I wasn't trying to show off. I just wanted you to see  and know that I can do this.

Odyn then sighed before Weiss could continue. He looked Ruby straight in the eyes and spoke.

Odyn: Ruby.. there's a time to show off and a time to ask for help. Right now... is one of those times you ask for help, okay? Don't be so reckless, you nearly gave me a heart attack back there.

Ruby's eyes fell at this before looking up at Odyn and Weiss.

Weiss then spoke up.

Weiss: You're fine.

The silver haired girl then walks away, allowing Ruby to speak to Odyn.

Ruby: I guess I was pretty reckless then, huh?

Odyn: Yeah, you bet you were.

He then lightly taps her on the head with his fist.

Odyn: Just.. promise me that you won't be that reckless again and charge in without thinking or having a plan first.

Ruby smiled apologetically at Odyn before speaking.

Ruby: Yeah, I promise. And Odyn...

Odyn: (looks at her) yeah?

Ruby: (Blushes) T-Thank Y-You for s-saving me.

Odyn smirked at her and extended his fist towards her as they fist bumped.

Odyn: No problem Ruby. Anytime you're in trouble, I'll be there to back you up. And if need be, I'll save you. That's a promise.

Ruby was still blushing as she smiled at Odyn. She was glad Odyn saved her.

Yang rushes up to Ruby and gives her a hug, which she grunts in surprise upon receiving.

Yang:  So happy you're okay! 

Yang then stops as she notices Ruby still acting shy. She looks towards Odyn, who is close by as he looks skyward.

Yang: 😏 hmm? Little love struck there, Rubes?

Ruby angrily blushes and shoves her sister in annoyance while pulling  her hood down in embarrassment.

Yang: 😏 I understand... I'll let you go talk to your boyfriend. Wouldn't want a third wheel around.

Ruby forcefully pushes Yang away in annoyance, her face still flushed deep scarlet. 

The group then looks up and the giant Nevermore above them.

Jaune nervously gets the group's attention, speaking up and voicing his concern.

Jaune: uhh guys? That thing's circling back! what are we gonna do?

Weiss: Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us.

The teens look at the relics on front of them.

Ruby: She's right. Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the Cliffs. 

She then nods to Weiss.

Ruby: There's no point in fighting these things.

Jaune: Run and live - that's an idea I can get behind!

Ruby goes over and grabs a gold knight (identical to the one Yang picked out) and Jaune takes hold of a gold rook (similar to Nora and Ren's piece), smiling at each other. The Death Stalker continues to fight its bonds, cracking the ice a little in the process.

Odyn then looks to his partner, she nods. And then gets everyone's attention.

Hailfire: EVERYONE,  RUN!

Ren: That's sound advice, Time we left!

Ruby : Right. (waves to the others) Let's go! (goes forward with everyone following except for a smiling Yang and Blake as the latter approaches her partner)

Blake: What is it?

staring proudly at Ruby as she leaps on a boulder and motions the group onward.

Yang: Oh, it's nothing.

she moves on as Blake smiles in realization - possibly towards the audience - and leaves as well.

An overhead shot shows that the group is heading out of the forest and into another abandoned series of structures as the Nevermore follows them from the air. They spread out when it passes above, concealing themselves behind some of the stone blocks with their allies as it perches on a high column and caws.

Hailfire: You know... I'm really starting to hate that thing now.

Odyn: I know, Hailfire. But we can't be hasty, that would not be wise.

This conversation was short lived as they see the Death Slaker gaining on them from behind.

Roy: 💢 You have got to be kidding me!

Yang: (annoyed) Well, that's great!

Jaune looks behind at the Death Stalker bursting onto the scene.

Jaune: Ah, man, run! 

the group emerges from their hiding spots, causing the Nevermore to rise up into the air.

Odyn looks to Hailfire, who nods. She dashes and joins Nora, unsheathing her blade in the process and having her shield deploy as part of her left gauntlet.

Ren: Nora! Distract it!

Nora obliges, running out from her block and jumping through the feather projectiles before reaching behind her and launching several heart-topped shells from her grenade launcher, bursting into pink electricity when they hit the Nevermore and causing it to retreat for a second.

It tries dashing back towards Nora, only for Hailfire to bash her shield against its face, causing it to squawk and retreat. The impact disoriented it as the shockwave from the impact caused the Death Stalker to momentarily stop.

Hailfire: Tch! I hate oversized birds.

Nora stood there dumbfounded at the raw strength this girl had. So much so, that she never noticed the Death Stalker rushing up behind her until Odyn slams his fist into its shell knocking it into Blake and Ren's cross slash with Gambol Shroud and StormFlower.

Weiss lands next to Nora so she can create a jumping platform beneath them and leap to safety while Blake and Ren are now being chased. Weiss just looks back towards Odyn.

Weiss: Did... he just... punch that grim with his bare fist?

Nora nodded, and Hailfire just shrugged.

Hailfire: ehh...  happens all the time with my kind.

Weiss went to say something, but Hailfire read her mind.

Hailfire: Don't worry about it, you'll get used to it. (Goes to walk away away, but then turns back and shakes Weiss' hand realizing she hadn't introduced herself yet.) Hailfire. Hailfire Caldern, but you can call me Hail.

Weiss: u- um... right...

Weiss still sat there dumbfounded at what odyn just did. To the grim who was chasing Blake and Ren.

Pyrrha: Go, go!

She stops running beside Jaune and gets out Miló, firing red shots alongside Ren's green blasts for a second until it reaches them and tries to swipe, prompting the group to run again. Well... that was before Baron came barrelling in and landing a heavy kick against the scorpion's body.

The kick was so powerful that it launched the creature skyward. This allowed him to unsheath his twin blades from his back and jump towards the creature.

Baron: Roy!

Roy: On it!

Roy leapt into the air with his blade glowing blue. He warped to the top of it and slammed the flat of his blade against its head like he was using a baseball bat. Baron then channeled energy into his blades, slashing the scorpion's shell.

Baron: Kanna, he's all yours!

The other teens just watched, dumbfounded as Kanna litterally used the heel of her foot as an axe and slammed the creature to the ground.

This was before she used her hammer to finish it off by slamming it into a crater after bringing it down on its stomach.

The creatures was confirmed dead, evidenced by the black mist evaporating into the air. The teens stood bug eyed at what they just saw.

These guys... were... monsters. What was with that strength of theirs?! No one just punched a giant Scorpion grim bare fisted. Odyn looked towards the other side of the bridge and called out to Ruby and her team.

Odyn: Alright, Ruby finish that stupid bird off! We've done what we can over here, now it's your turn!

Hailfire: show us what you can do!

Blake sees the Nevermore above her and launches her whip so the gun's blade sinks into the edge of the bridge, circling around and leaping onto the aerial Grimm's back. She dashes all over its body, slashing the entire time, before jumping off and landing on the ruined platform at the top of the columns next to Ruby, then going over to Yang and Weiss.

Blake: It's tougher than it looks!

Yang then readies her weapon, Ember Celica.

Yang: Then let's hit with everything we got! Never give in!

Weiss had made her way over to her team at this point after the Death Stalker had been dealt with, she was ready to help her team now.

The Nevermore approaching, Ruby, Blake, Weiss, and Yang set their weapons to fire a barrage of blasts at the bird, which it either dodges or takes harmlessly until it crashes through the columns and platform. The girls leap from one section of falling stone to the next until they reach the higher bridge on top, just below the cliffs.

Weiss: None of this is working!

Ruby was watching Blake whip over to another section of the area and Yang firing round after flaming round at the Grimm. She then spoke up and relayed something she had planned to Weiss.

Ruby:  I have a plan! Cover me! 

she blasts away as Weiss raises her blade and heads into the fray.

Yang is still burning through her ammo on the beast, landing a blow at its face and causing it to head right towards her, but she leaps for its open maw and forces the beak wide as she attacks. Yang is screaming and firing a round with each syllable.

Yang:  I! Hope! You're! Hung-! ...-gry! 

She looks behind her and jumps back from its mouth onto a ruin, causing the creature to crash into the cliffs.

Despite Yang's attempts, the Nevermore recovers quickly, and Yang smiles as she spots Ruby and Blake on the broken columns with Weiss rushing to the battle. Yang passes her while the Nevermore starts to fly back up, but Weiss hops over to the ruin it's lifting off of and freezes the tip of its feathery tail to the ground, leaving it stuck in the same spot despite its flapping. Weiss back-flips into a snowflake-circle jump and lands on the other side, running to the group.

Blake fires the pistol portion of Gambol Shroud over to Yang, and the two tighten it between the columns so Ruby can jump on the center with Crescent Rose and bend it back into Weiss' black sigil, right next to the caster.

Weiss:  Of course you would come up with this idea.

Ruby: Can you make the shot?

Weiss smirks confidently before answering.

Weiss: Hmm! Can I!

A second then passes.

Ruby: Can't?

Weiss: Of course I can!

Ruby looks forward and pumps Crescent Rose as Weiss turns the circle from black to red and releases Ruby at such a speed that the ground behind her launch cracks, rose petals flying from her ascent. With each new shot, she gets closer and closer to the trapped Grimm until her scythe catches the Nevermore's neck in its blade and causes them both to fall to the cliff wall. Weiss raises her sword and creates a series of white circles up the wall, which Ruby dashes through by firing the entire way up.

Yang, Blake, and an exhausted Weiss watch her climb up with the bird in her grasp until, both warrior and monster crying out, Ruby reaches the top of the cliff, circles up, fires one last shot, and rends the Nevermore's head from its shoulders in a shower of petals.

She lands beside the severed head as the body of the giant Nevermore falls lifeless to the ruins and crevice below while the girls and, farther away, all of the other teens watch on in amazement.

Jaune: Wow...

Odyn: Heh, not bad Ruby. Not bad at all...

Hailfire: I knew they could do it.

Kanna: nice work you four.

Daikon: hmph, that wasn't bad I suppose.

Flare: wow... they were awesome!

Roy: Yeah, they were...

Baron: Pretty good work. I think they'll make a great team.

Note: That... wasn't too bad.

Beat: I'll say.. not too shabby.

Yang: Well... that was a thing!

Ruby continues to smile as she looks on towards her friends.

The scene then shifts to back at Beacon as the sounds of a crowd clapping louder and louder until a familiar voice is heard.

Ozpin: Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. 

The screen of the auditorium shows each of their profiles as the boys are lined up for the applauding audience to see as Ozpin continues.

Ozpin: The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!

The audience gives one more wave of ovation, while four students walk up to the stage to take their places in front of the headmaster as their faces fill the screen.

Ozpin: Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR.

Amidst the clapping, Nora laughs and gives Ren a hug.

Ozpin:Led by... Jaune Arc!

Jaune was confused and thought there was a mistake.. him? He was the leader?

Jaune: Huh? L-Led by...?

Ozpin: Congratulations, young man.

A grinning Pyrrha offers a friendly shoulder bump to Jaune, but her "fine leader" is knocked over and falls to his butt in front of the laughing audience.

Ozpin then allows the next four students to come up to the stage. Their faces displayed on the video monitor of the auditorium.

Ozpin: Kanna Andross. Daikon Koizumi. Baron Caldern. Note Ravenwing. And Beat Nightcrow.

Ozpin continued, this was a first. Never had Beacon ever had a five man team before. That meant one of their members would have to switch out in certain activities they partook in.

Ozpin: The five of you retrieved the gray rook pieces, well done. From now on, you shall be known as Team KDBNB. Led by.... Kanna Andross!

There was a wave of applause and clapping after they were introduced. 

Daikon: Shouldn't be surprised you were picked as leader. Should be interesting at least.

The 5 of them walked off the stage to allow the next team to come up. Kanna smirked as she knew who the leader would be.

Ozpin: Odyn Albanar. Hailfire Caldern. Roy Albanar. And Flare Kitsune.

The four looked to Ozpin as.he addressed them. Each if them having a look of anticipation.

Ozpin: The four of you retrieved the silver Bishop pieces, well done. From now on you will be known as Team OHRF. Lead by... Odyn Albanar!

The crowd clapped and applauded them as they all bowed and left the stage.

Ozpin: And finally: Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. 

He motions over the four as they stand before him.

Ozpin: The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!

Weiss looks to her right surprised, where Ruby is obviously in shock as Yang goes over to hug her sister.

Yang: I'm so proud of you!

Ruby spies Odyn smiling at her and she smiles back at him.

Ozpin: (amidst the last round of cheers and applause)  It looks like things are shaping up to be an... interesting year.

As team Rwby leaves the stage, Odyn goes over and congratulates Ruby on becoming a team leader. Maybe now, since they were both team leaders Odyn could get to know Ruby a little more.

He was quite sure this would only be the beginning of his time interacting with Ruby over the next 4 years at this academy. The two then smile at each other as all their friends surround and congratulate the two on becoming team leaders.

The camera pans over the auditorium's structure until it escapes into the open sky and shows the scattering crescent moon amid the day's clouds...

Meanwhile...

Time: ???

Location: ???

The scene is dark as a creature looking like a man with horns approaches and kneels before someone. 

Demon: Your excellency... I bring news.

???: Yes, what is it? What news have you for me?

Demon: Sir. It appears they've made their move.

???: "They"? Ah! You mean those accursed servants of The Deity of Light.

Demon: Y-yes my lord!

???: what about them?

Demon: It would seem as though, they've sent the Elves .. er the Arkynorean Dark Elves to Vale.

???: I see... well then... Alucard... I have a task for you.

Alucard: Y-Yes my Lord?

???: There are 2 people I want you to find. Report back to me immediately if they are in Vale.

Alucard: Yes sir.

???: Find the child with Silver eyes, they hold the power of that accursed Udiya within their eyes. And... find the  one called the child of prophecy.

Alucard: I-If I may be so bold to ask sir... what should I look for in this... child of prophecy?

???: He will have a Golden flame sidgel on the back of either hand. He will also have Dark blue hair down to his shoulders. Report back to me once you've seen them.

Alucard: Sir!

The demon then leaves as the being then turns and kneels to a statue of a dark colored dragon with black horns.

This statue was the true form of the God of the Underworld,  Mordred.

???: Lord Mordred, we nearly have the keys to wake you from your slumber. I, your servant shall make our deepest wish a reality. All of Demon Kind wishes for your return.

The demon then paused before continuing.

???: This I swear upon the mantle of Thanatos. I will offer these children of light as sacrifices to aid in your resurrection, or my name isn't Astaroth of your Dark Kings.

Behind the Demon known as Astaroth is the entirety of the underworld's armies, ready for a raid on the world of the living. They shouted and roared , signaling their preparation was nearly complete.

Hey guys. Hopefully that chapter wasn't too... bad. Piecing this story together as I go. Yes, there are demons in this story, which is something of original content from me. We'll be sticking as close to rwby cannon as we can for now. Some things will be different since there are more teams a part of the main cast now.

As for pairings I do like the idea of Kanna with Mercury, which could be really interesting. 

That aside, should Weiss be with Daikon? Or someone else this time around? If you're curious here are the possible pairing options:
