Flame and Crimson: OC x Ruby (DBXV x RWBY)

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Round One (Premonition)

Hey everyone Rosesaiyan2 here again. Sorry for the long wait everyone, but I'm finally back to updating this story! Got some inspiration after reading some other rwby stories because i wasn't real sure where this story was going to go for a while. But I believe I know where to take the story from here now.

As for loose ends in the story, i do still plan on making individual chapters for each pairing I'm invested in developing. So there will be individual or short chapters for the following pairings: Khanna x Mercury, Baron x Flare, Sybrh x Tarro, Jaune x Pyrrha/Spoiler, Blake x Valvedern, Beat x Note. Hailfire doesn't have a pairing ... yet, but I do have someone in mind for her. Maybe you guys can help me narrow it down?

Best option for Hailfire:

1. Sun Wukong

2. Neptune Vasilias

3. Oscar Pine

4. Yatsuhashi Daichi

Anyways feel free to pm me or leave a comment or review with your choice and why that choice would work with what you guys know of Hailfire's personality so far.

And now, without further ado.. onto the story!

Disclaimer: I don't own DBS, Black Clover, Rwby or any of their characters. I only own the oc's that appear in this story.

Opening:

(Song 4 U- Tales of Xilia 2)

Visuals: just replace the tales characters with the characters in this story. Villains being Cinder and Emerald. Mercury caught in the middle between the fighting sides unsure of which side to go with. Odyn and Ruby fighting against Cinder and Emerald respectively with the other characters fighting off the Grimm. Opening ends with Khanna extending a hand towards Mercury and the boy accepting it and joining the others after hesitating.

Chapter 17: Round One (Premonition)

The Scene opens with Ruby Rose standing in front of a Gravestone on the Island of Patch. A view of the golden sun in an orange sky over the tall grass and autumn trees. The gravestone belonged to Ruby's mother, the since deceased Summer Rose. Her cloak billowed as it blew with petals in the breeze. Her hands her clasped together and her hood was up. Next to her, was Odyn Albanar. Her friend who was a dark elf, but more importantly, he wqs her boyfriend now. Odyn had decided to accompany Ruby back to her home on patch before the vytal tournament began.

Her father was a bit surprised and concerned at first, but over this past week that he'd gotten to know the young man.. Taiyang gradually began to accept the dark teen and his relationship with his youngest daughter. The two teens stood over the white stone memorial. Odyn patted Ruby on the back, urging her to speak. The girl turned and gave the dark elf a brief smile before doing as she was encouraged to.

She lowers her hood as she smiles sadly at the gravestone.

"Hey there, mom...," Ruby said as she looked down and smiled sadly at the inscription written on her mother's gravestone.

The words "Summer Rose- Thus Kindly I scatter" were written on it. The girl spoke again, encouraged by the presence of her boyfriend next to her.

"Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been... well, things have been, pretty busy. Oh, uh... Dad's here too! He's, uh, you know... Dad. (shrugs) He's still teaching at Signal. But he told me that he's going to be on some mission soon. I think he misses adventuring with you.," Ruby said before continuing.

Ruby looks down with a forlorn look on her face.

"I miss you too... Haven't been kicked out if Beacon yet, think being on a team with Yang helps. Oh, you should meet my friends too! I'll bring them by when i have the chance. There's Weiss and Blake! And some others as well. (Blushes as she looks towards Odyn) A-Actually there's s-someone I've wanted to introduce you to for awhile now.," Ruby continued.

Odyn stepped forward and knelt as he joined his girlfriend.

"It's nice to meet you, Mrs Rose. I am Odyn, I'm sure your daughter has told you quite abit about me. My only regret is not being able to meet you in person. I'm sure you were a wonderful mother to this little rose, here.," Odyn said.

"Y-yeah.. Odyn is my boyfriend now. But.. he's been really kind to me since my first day at Beacon, I love him dearly. I think dad's even accepted him and our relationship too.," Ruby said with a small smile and a bit of a blush on her face.

She then continued.

"Point is, I've met some really good friends and some very uh... interesting teachers. Oh! We've also stopped some bad guys, too! I guess it's like they say: "like mother, like daughter"! I still wonder why Ozpin let me into the school early. But uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he's starting to sound like Uncle Qrow.," Ruby said.

A bark alerts her to Zwei and Taiyang waiting for her.

"I think that's our cue to go, Ruby.," Odyn said with his arm wrapped around her side.

Ruby nodded before smiling back towards the gravestone.

"Gotta go, looks like dad's back. He's dropping us back off at Beacon for tye Vytal tournament before he heads out on his next mission. (She briefly pauses before turning and delivering one final message to her mother). It.. was good to talk again, mom.," Ruby said as she walked towards her dad and their family pet.

Odyn turned to join his girlfriend, but then heard a voice come from where the grave was.

"Thank you...", The voice said.

"You're welcome, miss Rose. I promise I'll take good care of your daughter, she means the world to me.," Odyn said through his mind.

A faint figure of a woman similar to Ruby in a white hood and cape appeared at the gravestone and smiled at him.

"I know you will, Odyn. You have my blessing, young man. Be sure to keep my little rose happy, you hear?," Summer chastised.

"I will. You can count on it!," Odyn nodded back before joining Ruby.

The figure faded as she smiled at the young man. A group crows then flew into the sunshine, marking a familiar sight.

They joined up with Zwei and Taiyang as they walked back towards their house.

"Have you said what you needed to, Ruby? I can give you more time if you need it.," Taiyang said.

Ruby shook her head and smiled at her father. She knew he was only trying to be nice, but she also knew that he missed Summer Rose more than anyone else.

"No, it's okay dad. I told her what I needed to for now. Next time I'm home, I'll have even more stories to tell her.," She replied.

Ruby then looked toward her father, noticing his sad smile.

"You.. should talk to her too, dad. I think mom would like it if you talked to her more often than you do. Of course... I'm not going to force you, but... i think it would be good for you.," Ruby continued.

"I'll... consider it, Ruby. It's just... hard to right now.," Taiyang said hesitant.

He'd just gotten over her death a few years ago. It wasn't easy for him not to think about his deceased wife without weeping. But for his daughter's sake, he would at least try to talk to Summer's grave more often than he did.

As they walked back to the house, they were then joined by Roy and Yang. Tai started chatting with the pair of dark elven brothers as they made their way towards their way home. They headed towards the house to gather some supplies before Tai would drop them off back at the school on his way.

"At first, I was a little wary of two boys being close to my daughters... but you two are genuine. I feel that I can trust my girls safety to you two. And I'm fully aware of how much you care about them.," Tai said.

"Of course, that's kind of a given. We'd do anything to make Ruby and Yang happy. They were the first humans who saw as just for who we were as people, not for what we are. And for that my brother and I will always treasure them.," Roy said.

Yang must have heard that because she was awfully quiet and was seen to be actively trying to suppress the blush creeping onto her face.

"Yang?," Ruby asked confused as to why her sister was so quiet.

"Y-yeah, what's up Rubes?," Yang asked stuttering a little bit before recovering.

"Nothing, just... you've been awfully quiet. Is something wrong?," Ruby asked.

"W-wrong? N-Nothing's wrong, Rubes. I was just a little uh.. s-surprised by what Roy said to dad, that's all. Anyways, we need to hurry back to Beacon! I'm going to go on ahead and grab some things before we head out.," Yang said blushing before quickly walking away.

"Ooo...kay? Wonder what's up with her?," Ruby asked sweatdropping.

Odyn came up beside her and put a hand on her shoulder, slightly chuckling.

"Try not to worry about it too much, little Rose. Your sister just has some other things or perhaps some other person on her mind at the moment.," Odyn said before looking at Roy with a smirk.

"Real smooth there, Roy. I think you more than got her attention, lady killer.," Odyn said with a sly smirk on his face and elbowing his brother.

Roy grew rather annoyed with the incessant teasing and spoke rather curtly.

"Yeah, ha ha, laugh it up will you?," Roy said sarcastically.

Tai raised an eyebrow at this and spoke again.

"I understand you don't like being teased, Roy. But.. you do realize how my daughter feels about you, right, even if she won't say it out loud?," Tai asked.

Roy couldn't help but to blush at the implications of what that could potentially mean. He certainly wouldn't deny that the blonde haired brawler was indeed very attractive, but he couldn't exactly say how or what he really felt for Yang just yet. He needed some time to consider that.

"Y-yeah.. I understand how she feels, I uh... I just don't know how I feel about her just yet.," Roy said blushing slightly.

This confused Tai until Odyn Explained things to him.

"You see.. Roy's always been quite popular with the ladies, but he's never had one so aggressively gove him the type of attention that Yang does. So, he's not sure how to feel about that just yet.," Odyn said.

Tai nodded as it seemed like he somewhat understood what Odyn was telling him. He raised an eyebrow in confusion before odyn spoke again, answering his unasked question.

"But... if you want my personal opinion.. I willing to believe that Roy really does like Yang, but he's not sure how to approach her due to her... ahem! "Advances" as he puts it. He's never had any one girl show him the type of attention that Yang does. And Yang is very attractive which makes it even harder for him to respond to her feelings for him.," Odyn added.

Tai nodded again as if he understood now. The boy was probably as nervous around his daughter as odyn said, and these teens hadn't given him any reason to doubt the sincerity of their words. He would trust them if nothing else, at least.

Timeskip: Later, back at Beacon...

Ruby and Yang made it back to Beacon after being dropped off by Tai and escorted by the Albanar brothers. When they came back into Vale, they were greeted by Weiss and Blake. The two of them had been waiting for their pair of teammates to return.

"That certianly took long enough. It's about time you four got back.," Weiss said complaining.

Blake gave her a look before Roy held up a hand to stop her.

"Blake, it's alright. We disappeared without saying anything so it's understandable why she's upset.," Roy said.

"We did take your leader and teammate without so much as a word of where we were going.," Odyn added.

Blake smiled as she shook her head.

"No, it's alright. I figured Ruby would want to visit her home during the break before the Vytal [vital] Tournament. ," Blake replied.

"I suppose it was.. alright since Odyn and Roy were with you two. Just..., say something next time you're going somewhere!," Weiss said.

Though she didn't admit to it, Weiss felt a little left out when the pair of dark elven siblings went along with Ruby and Yang to visit the girls home for the week break they had. As they walked back towards the school to grab their equipment for the tournament, they were joined by the remaining members of Odyn's team, as well as the entirety of KDBNB. The group of teens breifly chatted about how their week break's went on the way back to the dorms. They had plenty of time to prepare as the tournament didn't start until the next day. For today though, they'd simply enjoy the vytal festival.

Odyn and Ruby were planning to go into the city and enjoy the festival as a proper couple once they made preparations for the tournament. Roy was probably going to be dragged off by Yang somewhere for the remainder of the day, Baron and Flare thought about hanging out with Odyn and Ruby, Hailfire would probably go off and do her own thing, Beat and Note would most likely be together as always, and Khanna would probably be with Mercury. That left Weiss and Daikon alone with pretty much nothing to do. As the rest of the group made plans for what they'd do, the saiyan and the Shcnee Heiress begrudgingly decided that they'd venture into Vale together. Because it was going to be boring by themselves with nothing to do for the rest of the day.

Later....

Ruby turned to the others in the group of friends with Odyn beside her.

"Myself and Odyn here are going into Vale to check out the Festival. If you guys need anything, just use your scroll to contact us.,"Ruby said.

Odyn turned to her with a smile and offering his arm for the girl to wrap her own around.

"Ready, little rose?," Odyn asked.

She smiled at him and blushed as she wrapped her own arm around his.

"Of course, Odyn! A-After all this is our f-first actual date as a couple.. you know?," Ruby said with a tint of pink on her cheeks.

Odyn also blushed and rubbed the back of his head as he smiled.

"R-Right. Well.... we'll just have to make sure that it's extra special then. I'd like this to be the first of many many happy memories we make together, Ruby..," Odyn said.

"O-Oh, R-Right. Hee Hee! Thank you, Odyn. I know I made the right decision falling in love with you.," Ruby replied as she giggled.

The two then walked off as others than went their separate ways as well. This left Blake all by herself. Not that she minded, now she could get more reading done without all the noise from her friends. But.. noise was good every once in awhile. Blake would figure out something to keep her preoccupied while her friends enjoyed the first day of the Vytal Festival.

She cpuld always read later though... For now, she just wanted walk around abit on her own. There was no rule against being by yourself. Blake decided that she would walk around for a while and check out what the festival had to offer.

While the others were enjoying the festival in their own way, Blake wandered around the festival on her own. She certainly wasn't in any hurry, she just wanted to see what the festival was like.

As the girl was walking though, she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. The faunus ended up crashing into someone, but she ended up on the ground. A kind voice then spoke to her and she recognized it as male before seeing an amored glove reach down to her offering a chance to stand.

"Are you alright, miss? I should watch where I'm going.," The voice asked.

Blake took the hand and was helped to her feet before recognizing that it was that same dark elf she saw about a few weeks ago. He was the one she saw who was guarding Odyn and Roy's mom.

"No, it's not your fault. I wasn't looking where i was going either. Aren't you-?," Blake replied before stopping upon seeing his face.

"Is.. there something wrong, miss?," The other teen asked.

"Ah! You're the one who's friends with Odyn and Roy, aren't you?," Blake asked before she realized she didn't even know his name.

"Ah yes. I'm Valvadern Arkhambault, but.. just call me Valvadern please. You're that Cat faunus from a few weeks ago, aren't you?," Valvadern replied.

Blake nodded.

"Yeah. I'm Blake Belladonna.," Blake replied.

"Ah, I see. Well then, Blake. Allow me to make up for causing food to get all over you. Call it my apology for a moment ago.," Valvadern said.

"Thanks for the offer, but maybe not now.," Blake said.

The elf nodded in understanding.

"Understandable, you have a prior engagement. Anytime you wish to cash in that apology for today from me, let me know. I'll be sure to make it up to you at your convenience.," Valvadern replied.

"I will be sure to do that, if you'll excuse me.," Blake said attempting walk away.

"Hold a minute.," Valvadern said catching the faunus girl's attention.

"What now?," Blake asked.

"Well it's just.. It can't be very appealing to be on your own right now. Why don't I accompany you for a little bit? It's my way to make up for today. The other favor is still open for you to save for later.," Valvadern said.

Blake didn't want to be with anyone right now and was about to refuse his request, but then thought better of it.

She thought about it... what was the worst that could happen? It.. may prove to be a nice change of pace for her. She sighed.

"Very well, do what you want.," Blake said as she turned walk again.

Valvadern stepped in stride to walk beside her. He didn't have any pressing business for the day, so he could afford to spend some time on a leisurely stroll.

With Ruby & Odyn...

The two teens sat across from each other at a table outside of a small bakery/cafe they found in the middle of downtown Vale. They seemed to be enjoying themselves as they chatted.

"How are you liking our first date as an official couple so far, Ruby?," Odyn asked.

Ruby blushed slightly as she smiled at him before putting her hand on top of his.

"Honestly Odyn, any time I get to spend with you is precious to me... Sure I have things I wanna do, but... right now.. Soending time with you is all that matters to me.," Ruby said.

Odyn smiled at her as he considered what to say.

"It makes me happy to hear you feel that way, Ruby. You've really grown since I first met you. But please, try not to grow up too fast on me. That naive and qwirky young girl who was fascinated by weapons is the one I fell in love with.," Odyn said chuckling.

Ruby slightly pouted at this.

"Hey, I can still be like that you know. I just thought... I should act more like my age. But... I do understand your point, Odyn. I'll try not to grow up too fast for you.," Ruby responded.

The two teens finished their drinks before standing up and walking along the sidewalk. They held hands as Odyn looked to his girlfriend. He had noticed something a little odd of late... Ruby's hair had... begun to change ever so slightly. And... had she grown.. taller, or were his eyes playing tricks on him?

"It's surreal, ya know?," Ruby said.

"What is?," Odyn asked.

"Oh nothing, just the fact that I'm your girlfriend now. I... it still hasn't quite sunk in that you and me are boyfriend and girlfriend.," Ruby said.

"If it makes you feel any better, I'm having trouble adjusting to that reality myself.," Odyn said.

Ruby giggled.

"Hee hee! Yeah, that does make me feel a bit better. Thank you, Odyn. You always seem to know just what to say to me.," Ruby replied with a slight giggle before leaning her head on his shoulder.

The two looked up into the sky, it was getting late. They needed to meet up with the others and prepare for the tourney the next day. But... there was no harm in wanting spend some more time together.

They walked hand in hand as they went to meet up with the others in their group.

Later...

All of the teens met up in the middle of the school courtyard before going back to their dorms. Most of them had gone back the team's dorm rooms, except for a few people. Odyn escorted Ruby back to her team's dorm as they said goodnight.

"Well... this is where we part ways, little Rose.," Odyn said.

"Yeah.. thanks for today, it was fun. I can't wait to spend more time with you, Odyn. Think we can go on another one soon?," Ruby replied.

"Another date? I don't see why not. How about... in the evening tomorrow?," Odyn suggested.

"Of course! I can't wait. Hmm?," Ruby said before noticing a couple of familiar faces at team OHRF's door.

"What is it, Ruby?," Odyn asked.

Ruby pointed and the two of them saw Baron and Flare talking to each other.

"You think Baron knows how Flare feels about him?," Ruby asked.

"Probably... not, yet anyways. Barron's pretty perceptive. He'll catch on pretty soon I'd wager.,"Odyn said.

Realizing, he had to let her go back her teammates Odyn said one final good night to his girlfriend. Ruby didn't let him go without a hug and a quick goodnight kiss however, which he was more than happy to give her. Odyn decided to take another way back to his dorm to purposely give Baron and Flare some time to talk.

Flare was blushing and fidgeting as she talked to Baron.

"T-Thank you f-for today B-Baron! Good luck tomorrow, I know your team will do great. I-I'll be rooting for you...," Flare said with a blush.

"O-oh uhh...t-thanks Flare... I'm g-glad you had fun today. A-Anyways I'm gonna uhh..go now. See you tomorrow!," Baron said also blushing as he walked down the hall.

Odyn then approaches his team's dorm room.

"Hm.. maybe Baron Flare both have feelings for each other? Ah, I'm sure they'll figure it out.," Odyn said as he then entered his dorm room.

The next morning...

Odyn awoke early as he exited his team's dorm room. Along the way, he was surprised to see that Baron and Flare were up as well. They seemed to be talking about something, but due to his curiosity, he couldn't help but to over hear their conversation.

"Good luck in your team's match today, Flare. I'll be rooting for you.,"Baron said.

The Fox girl couldn't help but to blush at the praise she received from Baron, she was not so subtly developing strong romantic feelings for the dark elf teen. She found that whenever she was around Baron recently, she was extraordinarily nervous for some reason and she didn't know why. If she really thought about it though, that wasn't true. Deep down, she knew why, but she denied it. However lately, she'd begun to waver in her denial of it.

"T-Thank you, B-Baron san... I-I'll be rooting for your team too.," Flare said blushing. "You.. You've helped me so much already Baron. At first, I was unsure about Elves, but as i've spent time with you and the others... I believe I've come to understand you all... if only a little bit. Dark Elves are just.. misunderstood, tragically so. As a Faunus, I want to do what i can to help others understand your people. I want to help humans understand and know that Elves and Humans can coexist peacefully if they try to.," Flare said.

Baron smiled at the Fox Faunus, he appreciated her words.

"Thank you, Flare. You have no idea how much it means to me hearing you say that.," Baron replied.

Flare blushed again as her tail slightly wagged behind her, a sign that shebwqs happy.

"Y-You're welcome B-Baron.," Flare said nervously.

Odyn continued on his way leaving his two friends alone. He may have heard their conversation, but he wasn't rude enough to interrupt them. The dark elf made himself scarce by jogging away enough to where he was out of hearing distance. His team was participating in the tourney as well, so he figured he may as well stay sharp with his training.

He found a small park a few minutes later where he began lightly training. Roy came and joined him a few moments later.

"Mind if i join you, bro?," Roy asked gaining his brother's attention.

Odyn nodded as the two began to lightly spar with each other. This was something they made a habit of whenever they trained together. It was more so each of them stayed sharp and focused on their opponent.

The two brothers faced off against each other with wooden training blades. For just sparring, it was pretty intense between the Albanar brothers. Both rushed in and clashed blades several times before maneuvering to find an opening. Wooshes of the blades being swung sounded before the crack of them clashing. Roy attempted to circle around and strike his brother's blond spot, butvOdyn was able to block his blow without looking at him.

In one fluid motion, odyn turned Roy's momentum against him and had disarmed him leaving the fellow dark elf flat on his rear end. He sighed, that was yet another win for Odyn.

Odyn offered him a hand to pull his brother to his feet, which he gladly accepted. He had an amused but also slightly disappointed look on his face.

"What does that make? 9 straight wins for you, brother?," Roy asked a little frustrated that he still couldn't beat Odyn in a sparring match.

"Don't feel too bad about it, Roy. To be completely honest, you nearly had me more than a few times back there.," Odyn reassured his brother.

This got the redhead's attention, causing him to look at his older sibling.

"Is that really the case, brother? Or... are you just saying that to make me feel better?," Roy asked a little bit skeptical.

Odyn gave his brother look that let him know he was serious about what he said. Roy knew his brother well enough to know when he meant what he said. Personally, Roy believed him. But l, he just wanted to be sure.

"Roy, you know I wouldn't lie about something like this. Since when have I ever lied to you?," Odyn replied.

Roy chuckled. He knew his brother was right.

"You've never lied to me before. I believe you, brother. I... guess I just wanted to be sure.," Roy answered.

Odyn nodded, taking in his brother's answer.

"To be honest with you, Roy... If i'm not careful you could very well surpass me soon.," Odyn said.

"Really? You think... I could surpass you?," Roy asked surprised.

Odyn nodded.

"Yeah, you could. Not that I'd let you surpass me without a fight though.," Odyn said smirking.

Roy smirked as well before the two of them bumped fists.

"Of course you wouldn't.," Roy smirked as the brothers silently chuckled.

"Now then... I believe it's time we were on our way to the arena.," Odyn said.

"Oh, yeah! I almost forgot today wqs the start of the vytal tournament.," Roy said.

The Elven siblings then walked back towards the school as they prepared for the first today of the vytal tournament. Along the way, Odyn stopped and looked over his shoulder as he thought he felt someone or... something watching them.

"Brother, is there something amiss?," Roy asked.

Odyn shook his head.

"No... at least i don't believe so. It just felt like there was... something watching us for a moment there.," Odyn replied.

"But now it's gone or it's hidden itself again?," Roy asked.

Odyn nodded before the brothers continued walking. A small creature encased in black shadow with beady red eyes and two horns was seen to be shaking behind the corner of building's roof. It came dangerously close to being spotted by the dark elf. What was this creature? The creature in question was none other than a devil sent by Thanatos, a king among the devils. Odyn was one of the two targets small devils like this one were sent to observe.

Since it was almost spotted, now it had to be very careful around the target. Dark elves were known to have even sharper eyesight than a hawk and even greater hearing than a faunus. The devil who sent after the human they were observing wouldn't have to worry about being spotted.. not unless the elf was with her. For now, the small devil would stick to the shadows and watch the target carefully.

Timeskip: later....

Odyn and Roy were able to reunite with their teammates and other friends as they all journeyed towards the arena. Team Rwby had gone ahead since their match was earlier in the day. Teams OHRF, KDBNB, and JNPR had now just arrived to the arena to get seated. Good thing too as they were just in time to see team Rwby's match start. The stadium where all the matches took place was certainly impressive enough for a man made structure at least. Crowds gathered inside to cheer on the matches that were all part of the week long celebration of peace known as the vytal festival.

Crowds are cheering in the stands, visitors from all over the world. In the field of volcanic earth and icy glaciers below, Ruby fires and swings her Crescent Rose at an off-screen target as Blake Belladonna exchanges blows with Reese Chloris, the blades of her Gambol Shroud colliding with the hoverboard of her opponent until she flips away, readies herself, and charges in again. Behind her, Weiss Schnee waves her Myrtenaster as the sound of her mystical power is heard, and finally Yang Xiao Long dodges the explosive force of Arslan Altan's fist before returning fire with her own Ember Celica.

While the others cheered, Odyn suddenly blanked as his vision focused on something within his mind. There were images of Beacon burning and destroyed, bodies... everywhere, grim crawling all over the place. It then switched to an image of a girl that was impaled by something in her chest while another woman laughed at her. Upon a closer look, that woman who laughed was... Cinder! And the one who was dying was... Pyrrha? No, that couldn't be right! There was then, another image... a rather disturbing one. It was Cardin and his teammates, but... they were different as if something was controlling them and they had what looked like sahdows all across their bodies. But the most disturbing part was the wings, tail, and the awful black horns that protruded from their heads.

Odyn shook his head as his vision returned to normal.

"What the? What... was that?! Was... that.. a vision?," Odyn asked himself.

It certainly had the feel of a vision but.. it felt too ominous to be considered a normal vision. The more he thought about it, the more only one solution made sense. The only explanation for the vision that made any sense was that Odyn just had a Premonition of events that were possibly coming. But.. why would he have that now? He would have to ask his parents about it when he had the opportunity. For now, he'd focus on watching his girlfriend's team and their match.

High above the action, two familiar teachers are sitting at a sportscaster's desk, with a microphone between them and the holographic image of the four kingdoms' symbols united as one.

"Hello! It seems that we have another astonishing bout ahead of us! Wouldn't you agree, Professor?," Peter Port said while commentating.

His green haired compatriot adjusted his glasses in annoyance as he addressed the fellow professor and sportscastor.

"It's Doctor, actually. And yes Peter, I think it's safe to say this match may be the closest we've seen of the four-on-four round of the tournament so far!," Oobleck said.

"For those of you just now joining us, welcome to the Vytal Festival Tournament, broadcast live from the Amity Colosseum!," Port said waving his hand to gesture to the collisseum.

He continued his commentary for those people in other nations watching the event who couldn't make the trip to Vale.

The Coliseum is shown in its full glory, as shuttle craft transport people to and from the various floors while the entire structure hovers around the airspace of Beacon Academy. Explosions are seen throughout the battlefield, but the view shifts back to the announcers as they begin speaking again.

"For anyone that is new to broadcast... allow us to break down the rules for you.," Port continued.

Oobleck holds up the appropriate number of fingers for each of his explanations as a hologram to his side illustrates the rules.

"The tournament is divided into three distinctive rounds; teams, doubles, and singles. Age and school year are irrelevant! In this tournament, your only attribute being tested... is skill.," Oobleck explained.

Port nods as another hologram appears on the screen to illustrate his point.

"Correct! The winners of this battle will elect two of their members to represent them in the doubles round, followed by the winners of that round choosing one member to advance once again. The remaining combatants will then fight their way through the final bracket in the hope of achieving victory for their kingdom!," Port said as the hologram disappears with the image of a victorious figure, sword raised and wearing a crown.

Oobleck pushes up his spectacles as he addressed the fellow professor again.

"And yes, Peter, these certainly are some spectacular spectacles on which to spectate on! I don't think anyone tuning in around the world is going to disagree with me on that!," Oobleck agreed.

As they say this, the scene changes to their televised broadcasts all around the kingdoms, from a row of holographs above the patrons in the Mistral Distillery to an Atlas home with a group of friends seeing it together, a bar in Vale where everyone turns to view the screen, and outside a mobile home in Vacuo being watched by a few Faunus on a projection.

Port agreed heartily with Oobleck as he returned the aduiences attention back to the match being played.

"Ahh, and why would they? Now, let's get back to the match between Team RWBY of Beacon, and Team ABRN, of Haven.," Port said in agreement.

The announcements cut back to the action, as Reese steers her board through the ice. She twirls herself until the board gets launched at Blake, but she's able to knock it away, only for Reese to direct it back at her opponent. Blake blocks it again, but the board rotates back to its wielder just in time to defend Reese as Blake delivers several slashes and kicks. Reese deflects each attack and spins her weapon around until she can flip away and ride it again, rushing towards a smirking Blake. She collides with the frozen shadow clone, and Blake uses his opportunity to slice the board in two, only for the halves to become dual katars that in turn fold up into bayonet-bladed revolvers. Reese manages to fire off a few green rounds before her tailbone collides painfully on the cold ground. Blake winces with sympathy.

Meanwhile, Yang lands mere feet away from Arslan, who backs away before being pounded by two quick punches. The pair dodge each others kicks then Arslan delivers her own hits, launching a series of hammer blows. Yang defends herself and retaliates, the clash ending with the two smashing fists and creating a shockwave of force from the impact. Yang and Arslan are both thrown back, but Yang reaches her and tries delivering more blows before Arslan flips away then uses her rope dart to tangle up her blonde adversary's leg and land a kick of her own to send Yang skidding on the ground. While Yang tries to get her balance back on the slippery surface, Arslan rushes forward and knocks her back even further.

Nearby, Nadir Shiko tries aiming with his assault rifle at Yang before a sudden burst of frosty blue explodes behind him and leaves the whimpering gunner in a block of ice up to his thighs.

"Got your back, Yang!," Ruby said while reloading her rifle.

"But who's got yours?," Bolin asked.

Ruby looks up behind her as Bolin twirls his staff, right when a black snowflake glyph appears to his left and Weiss kicks him through it into a rock.

"Only my BFF!," Ruby said smiling.

Weiss deadpans at her leader's response.

"😅 yeah.. No.," Weiss said as she dashes off again.

Ruby slightly pouts at this before quickly getting over it.

"You could at least try, Weiss... Thanks for the save , though.," Ruby said.

Weiss looks back before returning her focus to her opponent.

"Whatever.," Weiss said.

Although, weiss acted cold. She really did appreciate Ruby's words. She was just focused on the match at the moment.

Bolin crouches with his weapon as he sees a white glyph appear in front of him. A second later, Weiss dashes by and slashes at him, then leaps up and attempts an aerial attack, which he's able to block. She readies her sword while preparing a glyph behind her, and Ruby uses it to launch herself straight up and come down spinning on Bolin, who manages to block the curved blade. Ruby grimaces and blasts herself away to Weiss' side, and Bolin rushes at them, rolling away from the shards of ice that rain on him and jumping over Ruby's swing as he continues running.

"Whaat? He dodged that?!," Ruby said surprised.

She panicked for a second before calming down as she remembered something her boyfriend would have said.

"It's okay, ruby. Calm down. Now... what would Odyn do in this situation?," Ruby thought to herself as she calmed herself.

"Stay calm, analyze the situation. Then act accordingly. A sound strategy is a boon to any fighter.,"

"Right!," Ruby said calm as she scanned the field getting a feel for their situation.

Bolin manages to reach an orange crystal deposit and slice off a shard, which he throws to Reese over in the icy half of the stadium. With Dust in hand, Reese fuses it with her board, turning the aqua lights to a crimson shade. She winks at Blake, then uses the board's heat to free Nadir from his icy snare.

"Thanks, Reese!," Nadir said in gratitude.

She comes back to Blake and slams her board into her enemy's blade, but propels herself backwards and knocks Blake through a frozen pillar. Reese attempts to use her board to slam her foe into the ground, but when she dodges that, she spins around in a flaming arc that Blake narrowly misses thanks to her shadows. Changing tactics, Blake launches the pistol part of Gambol Shroud at a nearby glacier and launches herself behind it, as Reese follows her and sees Blake with her back turned to her under an arch. Reese grins before riding in to deliver a flaming spiral at the shadow clone, only to see the ribbon Blake is launching to trap her opponent a moment too late. She pulls tightly and causes Reese to slam body-first into the string, only to use a final kick to knock her out of the stage. Reese crashes into the wall of the stands before landing on the ground, defeated.

Ruby saw her teammate defeat one of their opponents, which caused her to pump her fist in celebration.

"Nice one Blake.," Ruby said silently.

She focused on what she might be able to do in terms of helping her teammates eliminate the other trio of their opponents.

Reese's Aura level drops in the team display until her image is crossed out and she angrily slams her fist on the ground.

"Ooh, a double whammy! Reese Chloris is eliminated by ringout and Aura level!," Port announced to the spectators both inside the arena and those watching on TV.

Oobleck then added his two cents in the commentary.

"Oh, she really should have worn a helmet! Would've come in handy just then.,"Oobleck said.

Back in the fight, Arslan uses her rope to swing around and avoid Yang right behind her, using shotgun blasts to propel herself forward. Nadir comes into the picture, aiming his rifle at Weiss as she summons another glyph and launches Bolin at him. The two teammates are helpless as Weiss creates a whirlwind from underneath them and slamming the two together until she forms a giant ice fist straight up from the ground to trap the two. It reforms itself into a ball that rolls around the field, and when Arslan sees her team in this state, she rolls her eyes, annoyed, before changing direction and sliding into the path of the ball. She readies her stance and drives her hand into the sphere, which cracks under her power and frees her allies.

Ruby gets the attention of her teammates and quickly calls them over. The team of four go over a plan ruby ce up with on the spot.

"This is getting us nowhere.," Weiss

complained.

"That's why I've got a plan. This may be our only shot at winning this, so listen up!," Ruby said.

"Yang and Blake, I'll need you two to distract Bolin. Just do what you can to draw his attention. Lure him over there, to the center of the arena.,"Ruby said.

Yang nodded.

"You got it, Rubes.,"Yang said.

Blake simply nodded.

"What about me?," Weiss asked.

Ruby turns to her partner and spoke up.

"Weiss, I'll need you to distract Arslan and Nadir.," Ruby said.

"By myself?!," Weiss asked.

"No no, don't worry I'll be helping you with supporting fire. Just enough to throw them off balance and keep them them from truly teaming up on you. Once all 3 of them are where we want, that's when we knock them out!," Ruby said determined.

The girls of Rwby nodded and broke off towards their assignments. Their stances changed as well.

"Oh.. it looks as if team Rwby had a quick little strategy meeting.," Port announced.

"Yes, i do wonder what their new strategy will be?," Oobleck added.

Yang and Blake each took turns firing shots at Bolin to keep him distracted, being careful not to get hit too many times by him. Blake engaged him up close, while Yang fired dust from her punches at him. This kept Bolin from joining up with his teammates. Every time he'd try to get to them either Yang, or Blake would stop him by exchanging blows with him.

Meanwhile, Weiss was busy dodging and wqeving through the attacks from both Nadir and Arlsan. But Nadir was not expecting to get hit by Ruby's dust shells. Once as they were both closing in on Weiss, Nadir was zapped by a lightning dust shell. Another time, her feet were frozen due to an ice dist shell landing by her feet. Ruby watched as Weiss lured both Nadir and Arslan to the designated area.

That wqs when she began to gather her energy and transfer it into her sniper rifle. Blake swung around a yang who screamed as she delivered a powerful blow to Bolin. This sent the boy barreling into his teammates. The girls looked towards Ruby, who was now ready with her attack.

A bright blueish white aura burst to life around her as she puled the trigger.

"Cresent... wave!!!," Ruby cried as the dust bullet suddenly turned into an enormous wave of blue energy.

The trio of teens only had a second to look in horror as the attack hit and threw them out of the ring. Yang was able to get in one last hit before Ruby's attack finished them off.

The buzzer then sounds off in the background, indicating team Rwby's win.

"Yes!," Yang said as she pumped her fist in celebration.

"Yaaayyy!!!," Ruby said gleefully.

"And that's the match! Team Rwby is victorious!," Port announced to the delight of the crowd.

Weiss smiled with the rest of her teammates at this. She was glad they won.

Ruby jumps up in happiness before her stomach suddenly growls.

"We did iiii- oh.. I'm hungry now.," Ruby said hunched over.

They heard chuckling coming from nearby as Odyn and his team approached to congratulate them.on their victory.

"Not to worry, Ruby. Let's get some lunch to celebrate.," Odyn said.

"O.. Odyn! Heh heh, you know me a little too well sometimes.," Ruby said slightly embarrassed.

Odyn chuckled again as he ruffled the girl's hair, making her pout slightly.

"Well that's a given, isn't it? I am your boyfriend now, aren't I? Why wouldn't I know what my girlfriend is thinking?," Odyn replied.

"That's um... n-no heh heh, I guess you're right Odyn.," Ruby said blushing as she smiled.

Yang smirked at the interaction between her sister and her boyfriend. She wanted to tease them a bit because in all honesty, she couldn't take how adorable the two were together.

"😏 Hm... trying to make the rest of us jealous there, Rubes?," Yang said slyly.

Ruby blushed and waved her hands in front of her face, embarrassed.  Thay was a reaction Yang was going for.

"W-what?! No no no no no no, I-It's not like that guys! Honest!," Ruby said blushing evenore than she was already.

"Don't worry about it, Ruby. We know you can't help it around Odyn, your sister was just trying to get a rise out of you because she couldn't take how cute you two look together.," Hailfire said.

"I agree. Yang, please don't tease Ruby anymore right now. I know they're adorable together, but don't tease them too much.," Blake said calmly.

"Ruby and Odyn may be cute together, but we shouldn't tease them. Now is hardly the time for that.," Weiss said.

"We do know how you feel, but you can worry about that later.," Hailfire said.

Yang sighed in defeat.

"Alright. It was fun while it lasted.," Yang admitted.

"I may have worked up an appetite myself.," Blake admitted before her stomach loudly growls like a beast.

This made the cat faunus blush in embarrassment.

Weiss then shrugs her arms as she speaks, sarcastically amswering her friends earlier question.

"Gee, if only there was somewhere on campus to get food around here. Oh.. wait.," She says as the camera zooms out to show a myriad of tents and small shops wreathed in colorful flags in a large forest clearing as people mill about to experience it all.

Yatsuhashi Daichi can be seen flexing in front of two girls nearby. A pair of Atlesian Knight-200"s on patrol walk past the girls as they talk.

Ruby doesn't pick up the sarcastic tone in her friend's voice and placed a hand on her shoulder, thinking the girl was actually serious.

"It's okay, Weiss, I forget about the fairgrounds, too.," Ruby said.

Odyn slapped his forehead at this. He felt like he just lost some brain cells due to Ruby's naiveté.

"🤦‍♂️ why do i even bother?," Odyn wondered internally.

Ruby looked at him concerned.

"Are you.. okay Odyn?," She asked.

Odyn did his best to smile as he answered her.

"Yeah.. just dandy.," Odyn replied.

Weiss knocks Ruby's arm away as she responds to her question.

"I was just being a little facetious?," Weiss said.

"Gah! Well if you were hungry, why didn't you say so!?",Ruby responded.

At this, Yang spoke up.

"Come on, then! I know just the place.," Yang said.

The group of teens then follow Yang, but Weiss suddenly stops as she hears a ringtone on her Scroll. Pulling it out, she sees the caller ID labeled "FATHER", and glares at the device, putting it back from where she got it, unanswered.

"Hey! Might be hard to eat without this.,"Emerald said holding a red wallet filled with lien.

Ruby then panics as she pats her pockets, looking for her wallet.

"No, no, no, no!," Ruby said patting her outfit.

Odyn is seen glaring slightly at Emerald and she gulps silently. Something about that glare of Odyn's seemed really dangerous, so she just handed the wallet back to Ruby without any hesitation.

"Good to see you, Ruby. And uh... you too, ah...," Emerald said realizing she didn't know his name.

Odyn sighed as he answered.

"It's Odyn. Odyin Albanar.," Odyin said.

"Odyin.. yeah.. right. He heh heh heh..(nervously laughs)," She said nervously laughing.

"Oh thanks, Emerald! I guess I must've dropped it. Girl pockets are just the worst!," Ruby replied after receiving her wallet back.

She slumps slightly as she says this. Odyn puts a comforting hand on her shoulder in sympathy.

"So what's up, Em?," Yang asked.

"Just left the stadium after watching your team's fight, you guys were awesome!," Emerald said.

Ruby blushes in embarrassment as she shyly accepts the praise.

"Oh uh.. we weren't that impressive..," Ruby says bashfully.

"I heard your team progressed to the next round too.," Blake said over Ruby's gushing.

"It is odd that we haven't seen your ither teammates..," Weiss said.

"How'd they do in their fight?," Yang asked.

Emerald tilts her head up in thought, remembering how she blasted opponents with Thief's Respite, then slashed behind her as Mercury Black kicks out a shotgun blast with Talaria. Cinder Fall did the same with her own target, landing the poor soul at the feet of their teammate, a mysterious black-haired girl who leans over and stares down as the camera focuses on how her green eyes blink into a pair of pink and brown irises as she smirks while delivering a stomp on her victim's face into darkness.

"Really... well actually.," She said coming back to reality.

"That's great. Uh... why don't we um... ya know, go get some victory food together then?," Ruby added.

"Oh, gosh, that's so nice of you, but my teammates are all kind of...," She trails off as she's looking back at Mercury as he sniffs the inside of a boot, looking perplexed after he does so before continuing.

" Introverted. Really... socially awkward.," Emerald finished.

"Ooh, yeah, I could see that.," Yang said nodding.

"Yeah. Anyways, looks like Merc and I are moving onto the doubles round. What about you guys?," Emerald replied.

"Our team still has it's match to fight.," Roy said.

"But, we're confident they can come out on top. So we'll see.," Yang added.

"What about for your team though?," Emerald asked Ruby.

" Well.. as leader of this team, I thought long and hard about this.," Ruby said.

Weiss pops into the conversation with a straight face.

"We put it to a vote.,"Weiss said.

Ruby tries to nervously backtrack after Weiss's comment.

"Yes, so, but I decided that we should put it to a vote.," Ruby said trying to keep her composure.

"We voted for Weiss and Yang.," The cat faunus said with her arms crossed.

Weiss curtsies as she spoke up again.

"I will happily represent team Rwby.," Weiss said.

"Just watch us, we'll kick some major butt!," Yang said pounding her fists together.

"Well if Mercury and I see you two down the line, don't think we'll go easy on you.," Emerald said as she laughed.

Mercury was deep in thought about something when Emerald got his attention.

"Right, Mercury?," Emerald said.

"Huh? Oh yeah, right.," Mercury replied.

"What's up with you?," She asked.

"Sorry. I just... have a lot on my mind recently, that's all. Nothing worth worrying about.," Mercury said.

Team Rwby knew what was on his mind, but chose to stay silent. They didn't want to draw suspicion and likely mercury was trying to avoid emerald and by extension, cinder from catching onto his plan too.

Yang and Weiss return Emerald's confident smile with their own.

"We wouldn't have it any other way.," Yang said confidently smirking back at Emerald.

Emerald turns and walks away from them as Weiss and Yang do the same.

"Alright, well we're going to catch some more fights.," Emerald said waving to them.

"Have fun!," Ruby said waving.

"See you later then!," Emerald cheerfully smiled.

She quickly dropped the act as she looked disgusted when turning her back to them. But out of the corner of her eye, she could see Odyn, Roy, and Hailfire all glaring at her. She silently gulped. They knew she was up to something, and that she wasn't the person she fooled Team Rwby into thinking she was.

"Crap, I... no..we need to be careful, those elves.. they know we're not who we appear to be.," Emerald thought sweating.

Mercury looked at her, he could tell she was wary of the elves. And for good reason, you didn't want to mess with them. Emerald and Cinder had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

He decided to just play it off so Emerald wouldn't suspect anything.

"So how are the new friends?," Mercury asked.

"I hate them.," Emerald said scowling.

"Orders are Orders.," Mercury said shrugging.

"I guess. Those Elves on the other hand...,"Emerald said.

"What about them?," Mercury asked.

"We need to be careful around them. They already suspect us.," Emerald responded.

"What makes you say that?," Mercury asked.

"It's the look they give us. They know, we're not who we seem to be.," Emerald replied.

"Hm... so we need to let cinder know the elves may be onto our plans then?," Mercury asked.

"What, no! Don't be silly. You know what Cinder is like when she's angry.," Emerald said.

"Right.," Mercury said.

"Did you at least get what we came here for?," He asked.

Emerald nodded.

"It' heiress and the blonde bimbo.," She said.

"Yeah, alright. At least we know who we'll be working with.," Mercury said.

He silently was regretting having to go along with this, but it would be worth it in the end. Seeing the look of betrayal and anger on Cinder's face as her plans fell apart woule be the right choice. He was done doing things that ate at him from the inside when he knew they were wrong. This plan was how he'd make up for all of the bad things he's done in the past.

Elsewhere....

A pink-haired girl with a beanie walks by a hut with several posters, inside one man holds a cup. At another one of the unassuming huts set up in the fairgrounds stringed with paper lanterns with a sign overhead saying A Simple Wok, Teams RWBY  and OHRF sit at the stools outside, ready to order.

"I'll have one of the regular please.," Yang says as a large bowl of noodles slides in front of her.

Ruby is seen to be eyeing Yang's meal before she decides on what she wanted.

"Oohhh... I'll take the same.," Ruby said as a large bowl of noodles slides in front of her, as she clasps her hands in excitement.

Odyn spoke up as he smirked.

"I'll have the spicy version of what they're having.," Odyn said a large bowl of noodles with noticeable small flame from the spices was slid in front of him.

"I will have the same.," Roy said.

A large bowl of the same thing Odyn ordered was slid in front of him.

"I'll take a sweet and spicy curry flavor.," Hailfire said.

A bowl of noodles, rice, and curry was slid in front of her.

"I-I'll have your curry flavor please.," Flare said.

Another bowl of noodles with curry was slid in front of her.

Weiss looked a little concerned before she spoke.

"Do you have anything with a low-salt ...? ," weiss stsrted to ask before a bowl of regular noodles was slid in front of her instantly. "Umm.. okay.," She said not sure how to react.

Instead of saying anything, Blake merely gives a nod and smile to the Shopkeep, who returns the gesture as he rushes through one door of his shop and comes out the other to leave a large bowl of noodles topped with fish in front of her. Blake's eyes light up as she drools over her order. While Weiss looks strangely at her teammate, she gladly offers her Schnee Dust Company credit card to the Shopkeep.

"Aw, Weiss! What's the occasion?," Yang asked.

"Consider this as thanks for sending me to the doubles round.," Weiss said.

Her joy is ruined when the card is flung back at her, and the annoyed Shopkeep points to his register as it beeps "DECLINED".

"What?! How can my card be declined?! I was sure it still had money left on it. I was barely even into my monthly allowance." Weiss said upset.

Blake is seen to be looking around panicked, she attempts to slowly slide her bowl closer to herself before the Shopkeep disappears with her food, causing the poor girl to slump over in defeat.

"Noo!!!," Blake said slumping over.

The elves  and Flare politely handed their orders back to the shopkeep.

Team JNPR then shows up as Pyrrha then decides to speak.

"Maybe I could help with that?," The redhead asked.

This causes the group of teens to look up and see Jaune, Nora, Ren, and Pyrrha approach the stand.

Ruby flings her arms up in excitement.

"Pyrrha!," she said happily.

Yang was a little more reserved.

"Aw.. Pyrrha, you don't have to..," Yang said hesitant.

"But she could!!!," Blake said emphatically.

"Well, I'd say you all earned after tyat battle.," Pyrrha said.

"Mind if we join you guys?," Jaune asked.

"No, not at all.," Hailfire said.

Just as they were about to eat they heard another voice, this one belonging to Khanna.

"I hope we aren't interrupting but, you have room for a few more?," Khanna asked.

Ruby saw them and smiled.

"Please.," She said as the group scooched over to make more room for the other teens.

Later on, the bowls are empty, and each student is either content with their meal or holding their stomachs sickly. Well that was true for the humans at least. The elves and Saiyans looked none the worse for wear.

"Are you sure it's wise to have eaten before a fight?," Ren asked Pyrrha.

Pyrrha had a quick answer as the shopkeep had already begun cleaning the bowls as they disappeared from the countertop.

"Of course it's a good idea, it'll give us energy!," Pyrrha replied.

Nora simply gives a hearty belch.

Jaune is sprawled over the countertop looking abit sickly from eating too much food.

"If I barf, I'm blaming you.," Jaune said sickly.

"Ah nothin' a good punch to the gut won't cure.," Khanna said.

Jaune looked pale at the suggestion and a little terrified of the black haired dark elf. Khanna just laughed it off as a joke though.

"I'm kidding, Jaune. It was but a mere jest.," She said.

Jaune still wasn't sure though. Knowing Khanna, she could have just as easily meant that and been serious about it.

Nora grins evilly as she has an idea.

"Ooh, I know! Aim it at the enemy!," Nora suggested with a grin.

"Nora, that's disgusting. But I guess if you feel the urge to do so...," Ren responded.

Jaune just gives his friends a weak thumbs up.

"G-Got it.," He said still weak.

The teens from JNPR,  KDBNB,  and OHRF all stood up from their stools.

"Well, we should be off. We'll need to prepare for our upcoming matches.," Pyrrha said.

" You think you guys are ready?," Ruby asked.

"No need to worry about us, Ruby. We'll be ready.," Roy said.

"Those chumps won't know what hit 'em!," Beat said.

"We have been preparing for this. I'd say we're more than ready.," Hailfire said reassuringly.

Nora is seen gesturing to each of her teammates as she speaks.

"Of course! We've got a world-renowned fighter on our team, one's basically ninja, I can bench five of me, Jaune, we trained all year, our weapons are awesome, Glynda barely yells at us anymore, and uh... Jaune!," Nora said trying to be positive.

"Are you just going to sit and take that?," Ren asked looking towards Jaune.

"Eh.. she's not wrong, you know.," Jaune said shrugging.

"I'm kidding, he knows I'm kidding.," Nora said laughing.

As she begins to talk more quickly, it's evident she's worried due to the color drsining from her face.

"Don't be so nervous! The worst that can happen is we lose, that is just a few more years of walking around school with everyone knowing we're failures, our friends will slowly abandon us to preserve their social status, we won't be able to show our faces in class, no one will sit with us in the cafeteria, Ren and I have no parents, we have no home left to go to, we'll be officially renamed Team Lose-iper!," Nora said as her mad laughter then turns into sobs resulting oj her slamming her head against the table.

Ren, for his part, kept his composure and was unperturbed.

"Yeah, I'd say we're feeling pretty good. Don't mind Nora.," Ren said.

Pyrrha nodded, agreeing with Ren.

"Don't fret. If anything, we should be looking forward to a fight with actual guidelines, and not, well, ... people who just  want to kill us for the heck of it.," Pyrrha said.

"Yeah, like Pyrrha said. Don't sweat it, we've all faced way worse before. (Looks towards the elves) Some of us more than others...,"Yang said.

Blake is counting off the threats they've faced on her fingers as she speaks.

"Let's see... Grimm invasions, violent extremists, a destructive sociopath...,"Blake says before shetrails off.

"And that's all while were still in training! Oh, imagine what it would be like to graduate!," Ruby said cheerfully.

"Yes. Maybe then I'll finally be able to pay for a meal..,"Weiss sarcastically mumbles to herself.

Ports voice then interrupted any further conversation between the three teams.

"Will teams OHRF, KDBNB,  and JNPR please report to the battle grounds immediately!," The announcement sounded off.

"Yes! Like they were supposed to.. several minutes ago!," Oobleck said adding to Port's order.

"Well... I guess this is it.," Pyrrha said.

Before they left, Ruby went up to Odyn and wished him luck. The others understood, Odyn was Ruby's boyfriend now after all.

"Odyn, wait!," Ruby said running up to him.

Odyn turned back to the petite girl and smiled at her.

"G-Good luck out there. I'll be rooting for you..," Ruby said blushing.

"Thanks, little Rose. I'll already feel stronger out there with you supporting me.," Odyn said.

"Hee hee, you're welcome. Go get em, Dyn san.," Ruby said giggling and blushing.

She leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek, to which he smiled and patted her hair before reciprocating the gesture.

Ruby and her teammates then look to the other 2 teams and voiced their support.

Nora is seen to still be depressed, with Jaune looking abit queezy as they walked away.

"Go get em, guys!," Rwby shouted as they waved to the 3 teams.

Timeskip: A little while later...

Team RWBY enters the Coliseum through one of its tunnels and head to their seats as Emerald and Mercury are seen walking behind them to do the same. Down in the field below, the scorched ground and cold plains are no more, and only a layer of white mechanics is left, with a central stage on which the two teams gather.

Mercury then finds his seat next to Emerald and sits down while munching on a large tub of popcorn. He feigned ignorance to avoid suspicion.

"So.. who do you think will win?," He asked.

"Tch! As if we didn't already know.," Emerald scowled.

Cinder is then revealed to be walking up behind them showing off her new outfit of jeans, an orange jacket, and sarashi bandages over her chest as she takes an unpopped kernel from Mercury's bucket. She then sits down beside the two of them.

"Oh, come now. Even if you know how the story ends, that doesn't make it any less fun to watch.," Cinder says as her eyes glow with her fingertips and the kernel finally pops, which she enjoys while sitting down as Emerald has a devious smirk on her face. Mercury just watches quietly.

Port is then heard announcing the next match over the cheering crowd.

"Team JNPR of Beacon versus Team BRNZ of Shade!," Port announced.

As each team readies their poses, a circle of holographic roulettes start spinning frantically through various symbols and colors before finally landing on a green pine tree and gray thunderstruck mountain. With these random selections, half of the field opens to reveal a tree-filled forest, while the other raises a small rocky outcropping to fill in the circle. Jaune narrows his eyes in concentration.

"Woo Hoo! Go get 'em, Team JNPR!," Ruby cheered.

In the tunnel, teams OHRF and KDBNB watch through their scrolls or just near the doorway with a view of the ring.

Odyn can't help but to think about that ominous premonition he had earlier. Something about it was worrying. He'd figure that out later, for now, he'd cheer on his friends.

"Three..."

"Two...."

"One!"

"Begin!," Port announced.

As the start of the match, each team leaps forward at the other, ready to begin fighting just as the scene cuts to black.

End chapter

To be continued....

Ending theme- vivid days (Kenja no Mago)

Visuals: just replace the characters in the video with stills of the main cast from this story.

Whew! Finally done! Sorry ut took so long to get another chapter out guys, went on an extended hiatus due to just work and other things in life I'm involved in. Don't worry though i will update the stories you as the readers take time to check out whenever i have time to. The other Rwby story is in the midst of being updated, I just have to finishe writing the next chapter for it lol 😆.

Anyways... after thinking about it, I believe I have narrowed Hailfire and Blake's potentional pairings down. Vite for which one works the best (in your opinions)

For Hailfire:

1. Neptune Vasilias

2. Sun Wukong

3. Oscar Pine (volume 5)

For Blake:

1. Valvadern Arkham (oc)

2. Giblet (Dragon ball Legends)

3. Shallot (Dragon ball Legends)

If you noticed, Ruby's attack to take out Team ABRN in their match was a cameo for a certain Boost special from Tales of Arise (a game I've been playing recently lol) (Aka Shionne's attack with Rinwell).

Ruby and the rest of her friends will eventually get stronger than they were in cannon, it'll just take abit. Anyways that's all for now, just a little update.

Next time- Chapter 17: New Challengers..., The Dark Elves Frightening Power!
