Flame and Crimson: OC x Ruby (DBXV x RWBY)

Chapter 15: Chapter 15- Mountain Glenn; White Fang... again?

Hey guys, I'm back with another new chapter! I know I'm about a week late ..but merry Christmas! Anyways.. as you can probably tell by the title we may get some development with Ruby and Odyn this chapter. Whether she confesses or not... we'll see lol.

Anyways I hope you guys have a wonderful new year's this weekend. Onto the chapter!

P.S- I don't own DBS, Black Clover, or Rwby and their characters. The only things I own are the oc's who appear in this story (well.. besides Daikon and Tarro, those are property of ComparedDreadx, he's just given me permission to use them in my stories.)

Opening theme:

Naruto Opening 8- Re:call

Visuals: Main Cast- Team Rwby/ Team OHRF are seen to be fighting mechs on a train inside of a tunnel before it then transitions to Odyn and Ruby teaming up to fight off Roman. The song then ends as The group is seen in vale facing off and charging towards a horde of Grimm.

Chapter 15- Mountain Glenn

Team Rwby all stood there with shocked and almost stupefied looks on their faces. None were more surprised and shocked than Ruby. She had a hard time processing why Odyn and his team were here right now.

"W-what the- Odyn?!," Ruby asked confused.

"Yo.," He said.

"Excellent. Now that you all are here, we can begin. Ahem! Now then, I'm afraid those bags won't be necessary. seeing as you've opted to shadow a Huntsman on what is now essentially a reconnaissance mission. I can assure you, we will not be establishing a single base of operations; rather, we will be traversing several miles of hazardous wasteland and making camp in any defendable locations we may stumble upon. I packed all of our essentials myself, plotted our air course, and readied the airship. And...," He explains before zooming up to Weiss's face before talking again.

"It's Doctor Oobleck. I didn't earn the PhD for fun, thank you very much!," He said before zooming away just as quickly.

Weiss was somewhat disturbed by this, noted by the look on her face temporarily. The Schnee heiress looks to Blake, who is just as disturbed as she was.

"Uh...," Weiss says before Hailfire covers for her temporarily.

"Come now children, according to my calculations we are already three minutes behind schedule!," Before zooming off to the ship at the docks.

"Schedule!," He said pointing his watch as an afterthought.

Ruby tries sounding positive and upbeat before realizing that it sounded worse than she thought saying her thoughts out loud.

"Well, alright, then! Looks like we're going to save the world with Doctor Oooobleck- okay yeah when you say it out loud it sounds worse.," Ruby said excited but then becoming depressed midway through her thought.

She then feels a hand on her shoulder. It's revealed to be Hailfire trying to comfort her.

"Cheer up, Ruby. It can't be all that bad, right?," Hailfire said trying to cheer up the red head.

"We're here with you, aren't we?," Odyn added.

"We'll make sure you guys aren't in over your heads this time.," Roy said.

"Save the world?!," Nora asked as Team JNPR walked up to them.

Nora then becomes dramatic with every word as she speaks.

"You're going on world-saving missions without us? I'm hurt... sad! (Stomach rumbles) Maybe a little hungry? That last one's not your fault, though, Ren...," Nora said as she points to Ren.

The said teen just crossed his arms in an X and turned away.

"That sounds pretty exciting. Where are you all headed?," Jaune asked.

"Nowhere special... just outside the kingdom.," Ruby said.

"That's a coincidence, so are we!," Nora replied excited.

"Ren and Nora, here, wanted to shadow the Sherriff of a nearby village.," Pyrrha said.

"When do you all head out?," Weiss asked.

"We set out tomorrow.," Ren said.

The group then hears another new voice as two familiar faces walk up to them.

"Then you can party with us tonight! We're shadowing a crime specialist, you know all inner city detective stuff. We even get Junior badges.," Neptune said proudly.

Hailfire couldn't help but to snort and start giggling at Neptune's behavior as the blue haired teen and Sun Wukong walked into the conversation.

He noticed her and became abit defensive, but not in a mean way.

"W-Wha- Hailfire? Why are you laughing?," Neptune asked a little irked.

Hailfire wiped the tears out of her eyes from her fit of laughter as she spoke.

"Sorry Neptune, you just looked a little too funny there. That's all.," She said finally over her fit of giggling.

Sun then spoke.

"Yeah.. so.. normally we'd go with you guys, but stuff's always exploding and Junk. So we figured this would be a much better way to explore the kingdom when it's uh.. ya know, normal.," Sun said.

"Can't exactly blame you on that one, Sun., " Roy said.

Oobleck then appears and calls out to Rwby and OHRF.

"Four minutes, children. Four minutes!," Oobleck said before disappearing back into the ship again.

Rwby then smiles awkwardly at their friends as they realize they needed to go now.

"Well uh... wish us luck then!," Ruby said giving a thumbs up to the other group of teens.

The other teens nodded before parting company with Rwby and OHRF, going back to their dorm or continuing on to their own separate mission.

The group of 8 teens then headed towards the ship Oobleck waited in, talking on the way.

"So.. would you all care to explain why you're here?," Weiss asked.

Ruby, Yang, and Blake looked to the other teens expectedly.

Hailfire nodded as Odyn sighed.

"We were requested to keep an eye on the four of you.," Odyn said beginning the explanation.

"Keep an eye on us?," Blake asked.

Roy nodded.

"Yeah.. how do I put this? The four of you... have a bit of a worrisome habit of getting into situations that are... less than ideal.," Roy explained.

"What's that supposed to mean?," Yang asked a little miffed at what was being implied.

"Nothing.. other than you tend to worry people around you alot that something really bad happened to the four of you.," Hailfire said.

"This mission is uh... l-largely still in your hands. W-we're j-just here to help when necessary.," Flare added.

"Think of us as backup when you need it. An extra pair of hands so to speak.," Odyn said.

Yang scowled.

"The professors put you up to this.. and now they want you to babysit us?!," Yang said scowling even more.

"Yang, hold it! This... isn't their fault! They're just trying to help us out is all!," Ruby said trying to convince the blonde.

Yang sighed and then relented.

"Fine... You're right, Rubes. They're just here to help us when we need it, sorry I got so defensive back there.," Yang said apologizing.

"No need to apologize, Yang. We'd probably feel the same way if our roles were reversed.," Roy said.

Then teens then made it to the bullhead, and the entered as the ship then proceeded to take off towards their destination.

Time skip: aboard the bullhead enroute to Mountain Glenn....

The group of teens began to talk as they flew towards their destination. Yang was the first to speak up as she voiced her opinion to Oobleck.

"So.. professor er.. I mean Doctor. I.. never really saw you as much of a fighter. Mind explaining that?," The Blonde said in question.

"Ah, yes. Well, I admit I fancy myself as more of the intellectual type. But I can assure you, as a Huntsman, I've had my fair share of tussles.," Oobleck replied.

Ruby tilts her head to the side in confusion as visible question marks appear above her head.

"Like... the mushrooms?," She asked confused.

"Those are Truffles, Ruby.," Blake said leaning over.

Ruby kept her confused look and tilted her head again as she scratched her head in confusion.

"Like the sprout?," Ruby asked puzzled.

"Those are Brussels, Rubes.," Yang said also leaning over.

Clears his throat as he continues.

"Besides, given my expertise in the field of history as well as my dabblings in the archaeological surveys, our dear headmaster saw fit to assign me to this particular... assignment!," Oobleck explained.

Weiss lifted an eyebrow in confusion.

"Umm... yeah. But, what does that have to do with History?," Weiss asked.

Oobleck turned sharply towards Weiss and had a very serious expression on his face.

"Why, what a preposterous question! Silly girl, history is the backbone of our very society! And the liver! Probably the kidneys, if I were to wager.," Oobleck answered.

Weiss was still confused.

"And.. that means...?," Weiss asked still confused.

"The southeast quadrant outside of Vale is home to wild forests and deep caves, but it is also the location to one of the kingdom's greatest failures!," Oobleck said in explanation.

"And what would that be?," Hailfire asked.

"Mountain Glenn...," Ruby said.

"Precisely!," Oobleck answered.

"Yeah, that's right! It was an attempted expansion of Vale.. but unfortunately it failed and in the end, it was overrun by Grimm.," Yang added.

The Elves had been in Vale for a bit, but even they weren't aware of that part of the kingdom's history. That was just a reminder they were pretty sheltered growing up if they didn't know of this particular piece of Remnant's history.

"Correct! And now it stands abandoned as a dark reminder.," Oobleck said.

"And as a likely place for a hideout.," Blake said.

Oobleck adjusted his glasses and smiled.

"Exactly!," Oobleck said.

Time skip: Bullhead arrives at their destination...

The airship comes in over a spot of street amidst the ruined buildings and structures of the ruined area. It hovers right above the ground as Yang, Weiss, Blake, Oobleck, and Ruby all jump from the craft with their weapons drawn to slow their descent. They were followed by the 3 Elves with them, plus Flare.

The Doctor didn't have his weapon drawn, simply held his cannister of coffee as he floated down wards. The Elves crouched as they impacted the ground, before rolling to lessen the impact of their fall. The girls saw this and were surprised. Oobleck wasn't surprised at all, this demonstrated the Elves background as soldiers. Flare, used her fleet footwork to latch onto some tree limbs nearby to slow down her descent as she hopped among them before rejoining the group of teens. The ship then took off in another direction, away from the destruction.

Oobkeck then called to the attention of the teens.

"Children! You still may be students, but as of this moment, your first mission as Huntresses and Huntsman (looks towards Odyn and Roy briefly) has begun! From this point forward, you need to do exactly as I say! Do you understand?," He asked.

The teens nodded before Oobleck spots Ruby with her giant bag on her back.

"Ruby! I thought I told you to leave all of your bags back at school.," Oobleck directing his focus onto the silver eyed girl.

Ruby became sheepish as she answered the professor's gaze.

"But, uh, you hadn't told us to listen to you yet. So I didn't.," Ruby answered.

Oobleck mutters to himself.

"Well.. I suppose she's not wrong.," Oobleck said to himself before continuing.

"Very well, Ruby; leave your bag here, we can pick it up upon our return.," Oobleck said.

"But I uh- you see Doctor, the thing is-," Ruby said trying to make up an excuse to keep the bag with her.

"Young lady, what in the world could you possibly have in the bag that you feel the need to bring it with...," Oobleck asked.

Odyn looked at her and Ruby made eye contact.

"Ruby, just let him see your bag!," Odyn said telepathically.

"But what if he-!," Ruby started to argue before Odyn cut her off.

"What's the worst that can happen? He finds your dog? It isn't as though he can send Zwei back at this point, we're too far to send him back now. Just put the bag down.," Odyn said telepathically.

"(Sighs) Alright, fine. But only because you're the one telling me, Odyn.," Ruby replied telepathically.

Ruby then set down her bag and stepped away from it. The bag's zipper opens and out pops Zwei's head, causing everyone to stare at the uninvited guest. The girl is seen whispering out of the side of her mouth.

"Zwei, get back in the bag!," Ruby said whispering from the side of her mouth.

The dog simply barks in response to his owner.

"We're here to investigate an abandoned urban jungle teeming with death and hostility, and you brought... a dog?," Oobleck asked puzzled.

"Ha ha well I uh-," Ruby started before Oobleck spoke again to interrupt her thoughts.

"Genius!," Oobleck said.

This confused everyone else as they all shrugged in confusion when looking at each other for an answer.

Oobleck then speeds past Ruby and snatches the pet away from her, who tumbles to the ground as Oobleck spins Zwei in the air. Odyn then offers her a hand and helps the girl to her feet while Oobleck is preoccupied with Zwei.

"Canines are historically known for their perceptive nose and heightened sense of sound, making them excellent companions for a hunt such as ours!," Oobleck says as he spins Zwei around in his hands.

Zwei barks happily as he's being spun around by Oobleck .

"Are you okay, Ruby?," Odyn asked.

Ruby shakes her head before smiling at Odyn.

"Y-yeah I'm fine, Odyn. Just... wasn't expecting that from the Doctor.," Ruby said.

"😅 I don't think.. any of us were, Ruby.," Odyn said sweatdropping.

"Guess I'm a genius then!," Ruby said proudly grinning.

"😅😅😅 Uh... yeah, sure. Whatever you say, Ruby.," Odyn said sweatdropping and unsure whether he should tell her what he thought or not.

Weiss and Yang both facepalm at their grinning leader.

😶😶😶😶

The Elves said nothing. As they had no response to Ruby's claim and the reaction from Oobleck.

Blake then spoke up, easing the awkward atmosphere from Oobleck's observation of Ruby's pet dog.

"So, what are your orders, Doctor?," Blake asked.

"Ah, yes, straight to the chase; I like it! As you've been informed, the southeast area has been marked as a recent hot spot for Grimm activity. Now, there are several possible explanations for this behavior, one of which being... Grimm.," Oobleck said after dropping Zwei.

Ruby raised a confused eyebrow at the redundancy in Oobleck's statement just now. The Elves simply drew their weapons, they knew what it meant.

"Uh, what?," Ruby asked just as confused as her teammates.

"Grimm. A creature of Grimm approximately one hundred yards from us at this very moment.," Oobleck said.

"What?!," Yang asked surprised.

She turns to look like the other girls at the lone Beowolf wandering into the street, joining them in unleashing their weapons.

Roy stops her from advancing and she looks at him confused.

"Stop, Yang! We don't know what the situation is yet.," Roy said putting a hand in front of her to block her path.

"Lower your weapons.," Oobleck said.

"Huh? Why?," Blake asked confused.

"There are a number of reasons why Grimm will congregate in this particular area, the most likely of which will be their attraction to negativity: sadness, envy, loneliness, hatred. All qualities that are likely held by our hidden group harboring ill intent.," Oobleck explained.

"Hey uh... doc? That's nice and all but.. it looks like there's already more of them.," Odyn said gaining the others attention.

Just as Odyn said, there were more beowolf Grimm that showed up. It soon revealed to be the entire pack of the beowolves.

"So... What now?," Ruby asked confused.

"We wait. We track. If this lone specimen can lead us to its pack, then it will subsequently lead us to our own prey.," Oobleck said.

"But how long do we wait?," Blake asked.

"It's uncertain. Hours, days, weeks. Why, lone Grimm have been known to stay isolated from the pack for months - and there's the whole pack.," Oobleck started and then corrected himself as five more beowolves join the first one.

The girls look over and sure enough, Oobleck's sudden realization is true. Five beowolves had already joined the first one that they'd seen.

"What?," Weiss asked.

The pack of beowolves turned and immediately noticed the group.

Hailfire inwardly facepalmed herself at this.

"🤦‍♂️ Idiot! Why would she speak after the doc already explained the situation?," Hailfire inwardly thought as she internally facepalmed.

"And.. now they've seen us.," Oobleck said stating the obvious.

"What?!," Weiss asked.

Oobleck then zips right up to the schnee's ear before yelling into it to gain her attention.

"AND NOW THEY'VE SEEN US!," Oobleck said shouting into her ear.

"I'm guessing tracking them isn't on the table anymore?," Ruby asked.

"I'd say that's fairly obvious, Ruby.," Odyn told her.

"Alright then. What's the plan then, Doctor?," Yang asked.

Oobleck adjusted his glasses before answering Yang's question.

"Show me what you four can do.," Oobleck said.

Ruby then shifts Crescent Rose into its gun mode before turning to her dog.

"Cover your ears, Zwei!," Ruby said to her pet.

The pet dog does as instructed and.. curls up into a ball. Ruby prepares to fire her rifle.

Black lines race across the screen as a single Beowolf and smiling Yang run towards one another, ending with the blonde knocking it out in one fiery punch as they pass. Several stop chasing after the party girl to focus on Blake, who stands and waits with hand on her hilt until one of the enemy swipes at her afterimage, the real deal slicing her would-be attacker in half before slashing through another and cutting down on one more.

Behind the Faunus, Weiss runs from several black-coated beasts before jumping in the air and taking one down with Myrtenaster. She dashes towards them with rapier held high and slays four of them in a straight line until she stops. A wave of Beowolves are converging on Ruby, but the scythe wielder shoots multiple bullets at the oncoming force. She is able to dispatch most of them fairly easily. One of them that she missed is about to pounce on her until Odyn yells for her to duck.

"Ruby, duck!,"Odyn said in warning.

Ruby looked at him confused before he spoke again.

"Just do it!,' He yelled.

Ruby nodded and ducked right as a beowolf was about to jump her. Well it was, until it was impaled by a blade of light. Rubyblooked behind her a bit horrified before she smiled at the Dark Elf.

"T-Thanks, O-Odyn..," Ruby said blushing.

Odyn nodded before the Grimm faded into black Mist.

"You're welcome, Ruby. Just... watch your back next time okay?," Odyn replied.

"I-I'll be sure to do that.," Ruby responded.

Odyn then walked away after briefly tusseling the girl's hair, an action she'd grown accustomed to over the time she'd known the Dark Elf. Ruby just stared in his direction briefly before Hailfire came up and put a hand on his shoulder. Ruby turned and looked at the elf, who smiled at her.

"You do know that Lord Odyn is just worried about you, right?," Hailfire asked.

"Y-yeah I know... I just.. wish he'd trust me to take care of myself more.," Ruby said slightly pouting.

Hailfire chuckled.

"Ruby, I'm pretty sure you're the one human he trusts above anyone else. He.. just wants you to be safe. So when you're in danger, it worries him... even if he won't say it.," Hailfire replied.

Ruby went silent after that as she began to think on Hailfire's words.

"Does.. Odyn really see me in that way?," Ruby wondered silently.

She shook her head and refocused on the task at hand.

"This is a piece of cake!," Yang said.

"I wouldn't celebrate just yet, Yang.," Riy said.

"Why not?," Yang asked confused.

"It is as your elf friend says, this is just the first battle of many. Shall we continue on then?," Oobleck said.

The teens silently followed Oobleck to the next location.

Time skip- next area.. 5 minutes later...

The teens continue on as it transitions to Ruby slicing through a scene faze, Blake slicing the previous shift, and a random slash going to the view of Oobleck rooting through a plant as Grimm parts fall around him. The Elves and Flare looking on, as they felt no need to interfere with team Rwby's objective.

Oobleck is in the center of the group as the camera pans to the faces of the tired huntresses.

"Excellent work, girls! Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any signs of criminal operations in this sector. Oh, well! Moving on!," Oobleck happily cries as the tired girls follow him.

Odyn and his team guard their rear to make sure they aren't followed.

Ruby sheathes her scythe as she waves for zwei to follow them. Yang is growing irritated as she speaks up.

"Hey, Doc, y'know, I was actually looking forward to seeing a "pro Huntsman" in action. Like, fighting, or at least, helping us fight?," Yang asked irritated.

"Yang, not every mission is about beating up villains and making things explode. Isn't that right, doc?," Roy said.

"Correct you are, young man! To answer your question, miss Xiao Long.. I am in action! Scouring the ruins of this once-great city for any signs of irregularity!," Oobleck said before continuing.

"As your friend here said, not every mission is chalk full of daring and heroism. Sometimes it is simply a heightened form of extermination. You would do well to remember that this is a job... a job you girls all signed up for. At the very least, I hope you understand that as well as your friends here do.,"Oobleck said.

Yang was hesitant but tried saving face to disguise her nervousness.

"W-well y-yeah, Of course!," Yang said a little nervously.

Oobleck adjusts his glasses as the camera zooms in on him.

"Hmm...", Oobleck said in thought.

Scene change brought to by a chibi Yang punching the screen

The scene changes to the view of another victory for RWBY and their mentor amid the noise of fired shots, but switches again to Oobleck and Yang away from the group. Roy looks on as he keeps a look out while the blonde and Oobleck chat briefly.

"Tell me, Yang: Why did you choose this line of work?," Oobleck asked.

Yang was confused by the question and answered hiw she thought she should until Oobleck interrupted her.

"Huh? Well, to fight monsters and save-," Yang answered before being interrupted by Oobleck as he corrected her.

"No, I wasn't asking you what you do. I would like to know the honest reason behind your desire to become a Huntress.," Oobleck said rephrasing his question.

Yang considers this for a moment, and then answers as honestly as she could think to.

"The honest reason? I'm a thrill-seeker. I want to travel around the world and get wrapped up in as many crazy adventures as I can. And if I help people along the way, then that's even better. It's a win-win, y'know?," Yang replied.

"I see.," Oobleck said in response.

With Weiss a little bit later...

One claw-scratch transition later, Oobleck is sitting on a high windowsill writing in his journal while Weiss fights off Beowolves below.

"And what about you, miss Schnee? Surely a girl born into fame and fortune such as yourself certainly doesn't need the extra work. So... why choose this over a cushy job in Atlas?," Oobleck inquired.

Weiss impales the last remaining Grimm with her rapier before dropping the body. She then turns around and answers the question.

"It's exactly as you said: I'm a Schnee. I have a legacy of honor to uphold. Once I realized I was capable of fighting, there was no longer a question of what I would do with my life. It was my duty. Something I have to do.," Weiss answered.

Oobleck puts his hand to his chin in thought.

"I see.. interesting.," Oobleck said.

He then turned to Flare, who also happened to be there.

"And you miss Kitsunè?," He asked.

Flare quickly cuts down a Grimm before flicking the blood off to the side.

"Um.. well... I suppose it's because I really j-just want to help people. Even if they don't want my help, life is precious and too short to not help others. If we have the power to defeat Grimm, we should use it to help people. What's the point in strength if we don't use our power to help those who can't help themselves?," Flare answered.

"Yes, very interesting indeed...," Oobleck said in thought.

Time skip: a short while later with Blake...

Oobleck jumps down into the next scene, where Blake slashes a door down and releases a swarm of small Nevermores from the building, which she back-flips under before she shoots them all with her blade's pistol form.

The professor examines the doorway and then inside the doorway as he speaks to the cat faunus.

"And what about you, Blake? You seem to carry yourself with a sense of purpose.," He asked.

"There's too much wrong in this world to just stand by and do nothing. Inequality, corruption... Someone has to stop it. That's why I fight.," Blake said.

"Very well then, how?," Oobleck asked.

Blake wasn't expecting that and struggled to answer.

"I, Uh...," Blake said struggling to find an answer.

Oobleck "Hmm's" to himself, then dashes away, leaving Blake to bow her head in troubled thought. She felt a hand on her shoulder. Turning she sees that it's Hailfire, who smiles at her.

"Don't worry too much about it, Blake. I'm sure there's a reason why Doc was asking you.,"Hailfire said.

Blake just offers a small smile in response to this.

Time skip: Later than evening...

Later, Ruby is using her weapon in the most practical fashion and lifting a whole turkey on the sharp end of her gun to tease a jumping and flipping Zwei with. That is until she spots her teacher and the Elves approaching the capsite, causing her to quickly sheathe the scythe. The turkey then falls to the ground.

"Sorry! Uh... Are we ready to keep going Doc?," Ruby said a little panicked.

"Nope! I believe that will have to do for today. It's going to be dark soon. (Throws his bag over to Yang, making her grunt when she catches it) You three, set up camp in that building. Oh, and please do make sure there are no more of those... creatures. Your leader and I are going to secure the perimeter. Come, Ruby.,"Oobleck said.

"Huh? Oh. r-right!," Ruby said as she gets up to follow the professor.

They start walking away from the rest of of Team Rwby, the girls knowing what oobleck will ask her.

With Ruby...

As Oobleck and Ruby round the corner of a building, she sees something off-screen that makes her squeal excitedly for a second.

"What the- Whaaaa... What is that? It looks awesome!," Ruby said pleasantly surprised.

The camera pans and allows us to see the wide forest stretching below the ruin, and in the midst of it, a line of giant elephants with the black and white features of animals of darkness marching through the trees.

"That, my dear girl, is a Grimm.," Oobleck answered.

Ruby became excited for a moment before she smiled.

"Let's kill it.," She said pulling out her gun.

Oobleck just shook his head, stopping Ruby in her tracks.

"I'm afraid your sniper rifle will do nothing more than agitate a Grimm of that size.," Oobleck replied disuading the girl from acting foolishly.

"Oh... Ok. But.. what if it attacks us?," Ruby asked.

"Fret not, Ruby; those Goliaths are not concerned with us. Ruby, not every Grimm is mindless, or rather not every Grimm is still mindless. You see, the Grimm you see before you are so powerful, so superior to the Grimm you fought, that they've undoubtedly lived hundreds of years, and in that time between killing humans and attacking our borders, they have done one important thing: They've learned. They've learned that when they attack our borders, they're likely to die, and what we lack in strength, we make up for in will, and that killing one human will only bring more.," Oobleck explained.

When he says this, one of the Giant Goliaths swivels its head to look at its observers. It then turns back to join the others in their procession, it's eyes glowing as red as any other Grimm.

"Okay.. then why are they still so close to the city? What are they doing?," Ruby asked with an eyebrow raised in confusion.

"That's simple. They are waiting.," Oobleck answered.

"Huh? Waiting? For what?," Ruby asked confused.

"That.. my dear girl, remains to be seen.," He replied.

Oobleck turns around and walks away as well, and Ruby puts away her weapon, not moving.

"Doctor Oobleck?," Ruby asked gaining the professor's attention.

Oobleck turned to face the girl.

"Yes, what is it miss Rose?," Oobleck asked.

"I was wondering about something...," Ruby started.

Oobleck stops walking and speaks to the girl, now facing her.

"Wondering why I've been interrogating your teammates and friends all day?," Oobleck asked.

"Um... Yeah kinda... but I was actually wondering why you decided to become a Huntsman?," Ruby replied.

"Hm.. yes, I suppose that's only fair. Miss Rose, take a look around and tell me what you see.," Oobleck answered.

Ruby takes a look at her surroundings.

"Um... Lots of empty buildings and empty streets, I guess.," Ruby said unsure what her teacher was getting at.

Oobleck continued walking with Ruby keeping pace beside him and Zwei following closely behind them as he spoke.

"I see lives that could have been saved. As a Huntsman, it is my job to protect the people, and although I am capable of doing it with traditional weaponry, I believe I can make a much larger impact if I do it with my mind. As a teacher, I'm able to take knowledge, the most powerful weapon of them all, and place it in the hands of every student that passes through my classroom. I look at this wasteland, and I see lives that could have been saved, but I also see an opportunity; an opportunity to study these ruins and learn from this tragedy, and therefore become stronger... (stops for a brief moment before delivering his final answer) The sole reason... I am a Huntsman, Ruby, because there is nothing else in this world I would rather be.," Oobleck answered.

Oobleck then continued walking as she pondered the professor's words.

"I guess... I need to consider the reason I want to be one too...," Ruby thought inwardly.

Back at the base camp....

Back at the building, the team has done as instructed, building a fire in the center of the room and huddling around it or standing up. The Elves stand off to the side with Flare as they wait for Ruby and Oobleck to return.

"Ugh.. I can't believe we didn't find anything...," Yang complained.

"We've always been fortunate enough to be in exactly the right place, at the right time. Guess for once, we didn't have luck on our side.," Blake said.

Weiss spoke up off topic, gaining the other teens attention.

"That isn't what I meant...," Weiss said.

Blake raised a confused eyebrow.

"Huh?," Blake asked confused.

"Earlier, about... upholding the legacy of my family. There's more to it than that.," Weiss said.

Yang also spoke up.

"Yeah.. no me too.. I just.. I don't know..,"Yang added.

"I don't know either, Yang.. I.. know what I want to do, but I figured, I'd take things at my own pace. One thing at a time, you know?," Blake said.

"Well, it's not like it really matters. We all know why we're here, right?," Yang replied.

The girls merely stare in silence before Weiss speaks up again.

"Speaking of knowing why we're all here...," Weiss began as she turned towards the Elves.

Yang nodded, knowing what her teammate was getting at.

"I don't believe we've heard what your reasons are for wanting to become Huntsman and Huntresses.," Weiss said.

"Care to share with the class at all?," Yang added in question.

Before they could answer though, Ruby and Oobleck returned much to the girls silent annoyance. They'd just have to put that explanation on hold for the moment.

"Ah, wonderful; a textbook campfire!," Oobleck said suddenly rushing into the room in the abandoned building they currently sat in.

"Fire!," Ruby said excitedly rushing over with Zwei next to the blaze.

She sat down and used the campfire to warm herself up. It was rather chilly outside during the nighttime.

"So... warm...," Ruby said in relief.

"Yes, very good! Eat your dinners and hurry to bed. We have a lot of ground to cover tomorrow and we'll need you to take turns keeping watch over our temporary abode. Any volunteers for first watch?," Oobleck said in question.

Ruby raised her hand while still looking into the fire.

"Yo.," She said volunteering herself.

Oobleck rushes off, and Ruby gets up to go over to her lookout point as Odyn silently watches. Yang gets up and grabs Ruby's arm to stop her sister before she goes.

"Hey Rubes, wait a minute! Did Oobleck ask you why you wanted to be a Huntress? I mean... what did you tell him?," Yang asked.

"Hmm... No, he didn't. Weird. Oh, well; good night, guys!," Ruby replied before walking off to take first watch.

Without a second carefree thought, she continues on her way.

Yang looks disappointed in the lack of an answer. Blake is similarly troubled as she unrolls her mat, Weiss tries lying down but fails to sleep, Yang half-heatedly eats her dinner of bread rolls. Soon, all three Huntresses are on their backs around the fire, weapons within easy access, wondering why they are there. Odyn gets up, gaining the others attention.

"Odyn, where are you going?," Weiss asked.

"Think I'll go join Ruby on first watch. She could probably use some company anyways.," Odyn said.

The dark elf then gets up and continues on his way, after strapping his dust weapon to his back.

As Ruby is about to begin first watch, she hears footsteps approaching from behind as a familiar voice called to her.

"Mind if I join you, little rose?," Odyn asked.

Ruby turned and smiled as she recognized the owner of the voice behind her.

"No, please. Go ahead.," Ruby said offering a small smile.

The Dark Elf then sat down beside the girl with Zwei in between them. Zwei becomes nervous upon hearing the howling of Beowolves. Ruby and Odyn both pet the pooch on his back.

"Don't worry, things will be better tomorrow.," Ruby told her pooch.

Ruby just stared at Odyn for a little bit after taking her hand off of the dog's back. She watched as it seemed like her pet liked the feel of Odyn's hand on his back due to him panting happily.

"Zwei seems to like you, Odyn.," Ruby said.

Odyn smiled.

"Does he? Well can't say that I haven't wanted a pet before. The animals around where I'm from are.. a little too dangerous to be kept as pets though. So I've wondered what it's like to have a pet since I was a kid.," Odyn replied.

Ruby raised a puzzled eyebrow at the Dark elf's response.

"You've... never had a pet before? That's a little surprising.," Ruby said.

"Well... when you have to live basically in the mountains surrounding Atlas, you don't really have much of a choice.," He said.

"You... lived in the mountains?," Ruby asked confused.

Odyn nodded as he began to explain the story behind why his people had to hide in the mountains surround Atlas and Mantle. The screen then goes black.

Elsewhere: Back at Beacon...

James Ironwood looks up into the night sky as he stares outside of a window at Beacon Academy. He's looking out at the landing docks as a few airships hovering over the lit-up buildings. Walking up from behind him is Glynda Goodwitch.

"Trouble sleeping, James?," She asked.

The General looks back while gripping his arm.

"My arm was acting up.," James said.

Glynda slapped her forehead in annoyance.

"🤦‍♂️ Of course, so logically, you got out of bed, dressed yourself completely and decided to gaze menacingly out into the distance.," She said after taking her hand from her face and adjusting her glasses.

She then walks up next to him.

"What's wrong, James?," She asked.

Ironwood sighed as he responded to his longtime friend.

"I've trusted him for years. We both have. I just... I can't help but feel like he's keeping us in the dark.," Ironwood said.

"Don't be ridiculous! You know very well that we are not the ones in the dark.," She replied.

"That makes it worse! I refuse to believe that a man that I've trusted for so long would act so... passively.," Ironwood said a little frustrated.

Glynda then puts a calm and reassuring hand onto her friend's shoulder.

"You're a good person, James. You've always done what you think is best for the people, even against strong protest. It's admirable. But it's high time you stopped talking about trust and started showing it.," She said dropping her hand as she continued.

"Ozpin has experience that you and I lack, that... has to count for something. And.. I think that is one thing worth remembering. ," Glynda said as they both stare out into the night.

Back at Mountain Glenn..

The full moon is shining over the ruined buildings of Mountain Glenn, and a lone Beowolf is searching through the rubble. It looks up briefly at the young girl who has it in her red crosshair scope, but Ruby Rose just lowers Crescent Rose and sighs tired as she keeps lookout over the destruction. Odyn faces the other direction to see what he can to scope out the area.

Meanwhile, the rest of her team is lying down on their sleeping mats around the fire with weapons nearby, and Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck is higher up, slumped down against the wall next to the hole in the ceiling/floor. The Elves an Flare are seen slumped against a nearby wall with their arms crossed and their weapons beside them. The three members of RWBY have their eyes closed, but Yang Xiao Long is the first to stop pretending.

"Blake, are you awake?," Yang asked.

Blake sighs and answers dryly.

"Yes, I'm awake Yang.," Blake said in her usual dry tone of voice.

"Why do you think he asked us about being a Huntress? Like, what was he trying to say?," Yang asked.

"I don't know, maybe he was just curious.," Blake said.

"You think?," Yang asked.

"No.," Blake said dryly.

She turned slightly towards the schnee.

"Weiss, are you awake?," Yang asked.

Weiss answered abit annoyed.

"Of course I'm awake!," Weiss said irritated before pausing and then continuing.

"You two are talking. And I think he... When I said I wanted to honor my family's name, I meant it. But, it's not what you think. I'm not stupid. I'm fully aware of what my father has done with the Schnee Dust Company. Since he took control, our business has operated in a... moral gray area.,"Weiss said soberly in explanation.

"That's putting it pretty lightly.," Blake said.

"Which is why I feel the need to make things right. If I had taken a job in Atlas, it wouldn't have changed anything. My father was not the start of our name, and I refuse to let him be the end of it.," Weiss said.

Blake then took her turn to explain her reasons for becoming a Huntress.

"All my life, I fought for what I thought was right. I had a partner named Adam. More of a mentor, actually. He always assured me that what we were doing would make the world a better place. But of course, his idea of a perfect future turned out to be not perfect for everyone. I joined the Academy because I knew that Huntsmen and Huntresses were regarded as the most noble warriors in the world. Always fighting for good. But I never really thought past that. When I leave the Academy, what will I - how can I undo so many years of hate?," Blake explained.

"I'm sure you'd figure it out. You're not one to back down from a challenge, Blake.," Yang said.

"But I am! I do it all the time! When you learned I was a Faunus, I didn't know what to do, so I ran! When I realized my oldest partner had become a monster, I ran! Even my Semblance! I was born with the ability to leave behind a shadow of myself; an empty copy that takes the hit while I run away!," Blake said a little upset.

Yang then spoke so Blake wouldn't dwell on her failures.

" At least you two have something that drives you. I've just kinda of always, gone with the flow, y'know? And that's fine, I mean, that's who I am. But how long can I really do that for? I wanna be a Huntress, not really because I want to be a hero, but because I want the adventure. I want a life where I won't know what tomorrow will bring. And that'll be a good thing. Being a Huntress just happens to line up with that. I'm not like Ruby, she's always wanted to be a Huntress. It's like she said, ever since she was a kid, she'd dreamt about being the heroes in the books. Helping people and saving the day, and never asking for anything else in return. Even when she couldn't fight, she knew that's what she wanted to do. That's why she trained so hard to get where she is today.," Yang said.

Weiss smirked.

"Well, she's still just a kid.," Weiss said.

"She's only two years younger. We're all kids.," Blake said.

"Well, not anymore. I mean, look where we are! In the middle of a warzone and armed to the teeth!," Yang said in rebuttal.

"It's the life we chose. We knew what we were getting into.," Blake said.

"It's a job. We all had this romanticized vision of being a Huntress in our heads! But at the end of the day, it's a job to protect the people! And whatever we want, will have to come second.," Weiss said in conclusion.

Yang turned towards the Elves, they knew what the girls wanted to know.

"We never heard why you all wanted to be Huntsman and Huntresses before we got interrupted.," Yang said.

Roy looked at Hailfire, who nodded. This signaled that she figured they'd built up enough trust with these humans that they wouldn't tell anyone else what they'd say.

"Well... I guess we just define becoming Huntsman and Huntresses a little bit differently. It's so much about that for us, not really.," Roy said.

"What do you mean by that?," Weiss asked.

"What Roy means is for us it's more about preparing for what's coming, rather than becoming Huntsman and Huntresses. We're here to better prepare ourselves in order to protect our people from the coming darkness.," Hailfire said.

"We need to become stronger for the sake of our people. Because the will and desires of the Elven people are being denied right now. There's only so much abuse one race can take before they snap.," Roy said.

"Are.. you suggesting that there's even more of a divide between Elves and Humans than there is between Humans and Faunus?," Blake asked.

"Yes. That's exactly what we're suggesting. No offense, Weiss, but unfortunately your family in particular has played a very large role in the the degradation and demonization of our people.," Roy said.

"I... w-well.. ," Weiss started but quickly realized she couldn't say anything to combat this.

"Of course, we're not blaming you. You have nothing to do with the treatment of the Elven people. However... if this keeps up, well... our people will get tired of it.," Roy said.

"And that could ultimately lead to a situation that no one wants, especially right now.," Hailfire added.

"And.. what would that be?," Yang asked almost afraid to.

"War, that's what.," Roy answered.

"What?! You're saying that if the Elves keep being mistreated or are treated even worse than they are now, that it could start a war?," Yang asked.

Roy nodded.

"I.. I.. had no idea Elves were being mistreated that horribly..," Weiss said in near shock.

"Well, now you all know why we came to Beacon. And to top it off, the underworld is largely responsible for Humans behavior towards us. That means Devils or demons have been watching us.," Hailfire explained.

Oobleck who was apparently sleeping smiled at first but then frowned upon hearing how horribly Elven kind was being treated and what it could eventually lead to if it wasn't stopped.

Time skip: a little bit later....

Ruby and Odyn returned as Yang has taken up watch, accompanied by Roy. This allowed Ruby and Odyn to sleep. The silver eyed girl and her dog slept on the sleeping bag Yang had slept in previously, while Odyn had taken Roy's sleeping bag.

Zwei suddenly wakes and stands up, causing Ruby to wake up.

"Zwei? It's late, go back to bed.," Ruby said.

Zwei then runs off, causing Ruby to groan in frustration and chase after him.

"Zwei! Zwei! Ugh!," Ruby groans as she wanders out if the building to chase after her dog.

Unknown to Ruby, Odyn heard the silent commotion and got up to follow her.

Wastelands: outside of the building...

Ruby chased after her pet, looking for where he may have gone. Odyn followed her silently.

Finally, Ruby spots Zwei urinating on some of the ruins, much to her annoyance.

"Zwei! Zwei, where are you? Zwei! Huh? Zwei, this is a wasteland! You literally could have done that anywhere!," Ruby said annoyed.

Zwei just barks in response.

"What was that?," a White Fang Guard asked.

Ruby and Zwei quickly hid.

"What was what?," White Fang Guard #2 asked.

The first guard looked around, confused.

"I thought I heard a Beowolf or something.," White Fang Guard #1 asked.

"Hmph. Let's just finish our patrol and get back to base. This place gives me the creeps.," White Fang Guard #2 said as they both walked off.

Ruby sighed in relief before feeling a hand touch her shoulder. Whipping around, she nearly screamed before seeing that it was only Odyn.

"Oh.. Odyn it's just you. You scared me there.," Ruby said relieved.

"Well good thing you didn't scream. Anyways... what are you doing here? It's late.," Odyn asked.

"I was following Zwei cuz.. I guess he had to use the bathroom? No idea why he went here though... and now there's White Fang people nearby.," Ruby explained.

"I see.. And.. knowing you, you want to follow them and see where they're going?," Odyn asked.

Ruby nodded, making Odyn sigh.

"Figures. You can follow them on one condition.," Odyn said.

"Yes?," Ruby asked.

"I come with you. It never ends up very favorable when you go off on your own, plus it's too dangerous.," Odyn said.

"Alright. Come on then! Before we lose them!," Ruby said.

The two followed with Zwei, hurrying off down the street. Odyn stops and tries to warn Ruby not to go forward when the asphalt suddenly sinks before caving in beneath her. Ruby grasps onto a ledge, but is barely hanging on.

"Ruby! Hold on, I'll get you out!," Odyn said slightly panicked.

Odyn reaches for her to grab his hand but Ruby shook her head.

"Don't worry about me Odyn, go back with Zwei and get the others. Just... don't take too long, please. You trust me, right?," Ruby said.

Odyn's eyes softened and he sighed.

"Yes, Ruby. I trust you. Be careful, okay?," Odyn told her.

"I will., " She said nodding.

The ledge she is holding onto breaks off, and she plummets into a huge cave filled with ruined buildings, far below the surface. Her Scythe is left on the ground where the ground crumbled, allowing Odyn to pick it up. He then ran back with Zwei towards the others.

As for Ruby, She lands on a building up against a cavern wall, and as she gets up, a nearby door bursts open to reveal two other WF (White Fang) Guards, one of whom is Perry.

" Freeze!," The guards said pointing their guns at the girl.

As the WF Guards walk forward, Ruby backs away only to end up on the very edge of the platform.

"You're a long way from home, little girl.," White Fang Guard #3 said.

Ruby reaches back for her scythe, only to realize that she doesn't have it. Both guards approach her, and one of them grabs her arm.

"Hey, hands.. off!," Ruby said as she kicks the guard who grabbed her in the face.

Not realizing the strength behind her kick, Ruby's eyes widened when he went flying into another building.

"What the- did... I do that?," She thought.

More guards surround her and Ruby quickly realizes that she's outnumbered.

"I'm outnumbered here... I guess I better cooperate and see what they want first.," Ruby thought as she raised up her hands.

The guards took advantage of this and punched her in the gut to knock her down so she'sseen clutching her stomach.

"The boss will wanna see this one.," White Fang Guard #4 said.

"Lucky shot.," She said.

However the white fang guard the kicked her in the head hard enough to knock her out.

Back with Teams OHRF and the rest of Team RWBY....

Yang and Roy came back from their watch and were confused when they didn't see Ruby.

"Hey Weiss, it's your... Ruby? Hey, where's Ruby?," She asked confused.

"What?," Oobleck said concerned.

Just then Odyn came rushing into the room with Zwei barking.

"Odyn?," Blake asked.

"Where's Ruby, bro?," Roy asked.

"About that... she's in trouble. Told me to come back and get you guys.," Odyn said.

"Rubes is in trouble?," Yang asked.

"Yeah, we need to go save her.," Odyn replied.

"The young man is right.. Grab your weapons, it would seem your leader is in trouble miss Schnee and miss Belladonna!," Oobleck said.

The teens grabbed their weapons and hurried off to go find Ruby.

Back with Ruby....

Ruby awakes to the two WF Guards who caught her dragging her by both arms through the underground city. All around her, White Fang members are at work, doing various things such as piloting a Paladin to carry large shipping containers. There is a loud sound nearby as one of the White Fang members drops a large device.

Ruby overheard one guard berating another over their near blunder. She didn't pay too much attention to that particular conversation,  only thing she got from it was something about nearly blowing them to the moon . She was dragged forward as the group of white fang guards finally made it to Roman. The crime boss himself was working on some part of the train they contructed.

"Hey boss! We found something you might like.," Perry said.

"Is it.. a good or bad thing? Cuz.. let me tell ya I have had a day!," Roman said mildly complaining.

"Uh... not sure, but it's umm.. a little girl, sir?," Perry replied unsure of how to answer.

Roman leans out of the doorway and immediately scowls upon seeing Ruby.

"That... would be a bad thing, Perry, a very bad thing.," Roman answered.

Back with the others....

Odyn and Zwei lead the girls and the other teens with Professor Oobleck towards the hole in which Ruby fell through. Yang then notices Ruby's scythe strapped to Odyn's back. That was odd... how did she never notice it until now?

"Hey Odyn?," She asked.

Odyn turned his head towards her and replied.

"Yes, what is it Yang?," He asked.

"Level with me here. How do you have Rubes scythe?," Yang asked.

"She dropped it when she fell that hole over there. I couldn't just leave it lying there.," Odyn replied.

"Uh huh... I guess that makes sense.," Yang answered.

Oobleck looked up just then.

"Pardon Young man, but.. did you just say miss Rose fell?," Oobleck asked.

"Uh, yeah. That is what I said. Something wrong, Doc?," Odyn replied.

"Where did she fall?," He asked.

"It appears to be over here, Prof- I mean Doctor.," Weiss said correcting herself.

Oobleck walks over and looks down the hole.

"Oh my. Of course! Of course, OF COURSE, OF COURSE!," Oobleck said in realization.

"What is it, Doc?," Blake asked.

"How could I be so stupid?! I completely overlooked it.," Oobleck said eyes widened in surprise.

"Is ther something wrong, Doctor Oobleck?," Yang asked.

"Mountain Glenn! Yes, an expansion of Vale that was inevitably destroyed by creatures of Grimm! Previously home to thousands of people! Working people commuting to the city, the main city! Developed a subway system to the inner city! Grimm attacks increased! Population in danger, now desperately searching for shelter! City evacuates into the metro tunnels and what do they find? The southeast quadrant of Vale is known for wild forests and deep caves!," Oobleck said.

"Uh.. Doc, what are you saying?," Yang asked confused.

"I think he may have figured something out, Yang.," Roy said.

"Of course! My dear girl, we're not just looking for an underground crime network, we're looking for an UNDERGROUND crime network!," Oobleck said piecing together a theory in his head.

"So.. they've been working in.. caves?," Blake asked.

"It would appear so, Blake.," Hailfire said.

Oobleck shook his head before speaking again.

"No, no, Mountain Glenn was Vale's first serious attempt at expansion. It worked for a short period of time, thanks to an aggressive perimeter defense, and unique transportation; the city developed an elaborate subway system to carry citizens safely from the new territory into the main Kingdom! Sadly, without the many natural barriers Vale had to protect its borders, Mountain Glenn was doomed from the start! As the end drew near, the citizens of the territory made one last attempt at survival: They took up shelter beneath the city! In massive caves that they had cleared out for the subway. And they had cut themselves off from the surface!," Oobleck said in response.

"So in other words...," Hailfire started.

"An underground village?," Flare asked finishing her friend's thought.

"Is that true, Doctor Oobleck?," Yang asked.

"In a matter of speaking, yes. A safe haven. Until... an explosion opened the mouth of another cavern, filled with subterranean Grimm. After that, the Kingdom officially sealed off the tunnels, creating the world's largest tomb. If Ruby is down there... we must find her and quickly!," Oobleck answered in explanation.

The teens all nod as they stealthily begin their descent into the hole.

Meanwhile back with Ruby....

Ruby is seen being thrown across the floor by Roman as she waits for her friends to come and rescue her. She was more specifically waiting for one friend in particular to rescue her, that friend being the elf boy she had a crush on.

Ruby's grunts of pain caused Roman to laugh at her situation.

"Wow! You are much more manageable without that oversized gardening tool of yours.," Roman said.

Ruby, however, was purposely restraining herself to find out what the White Fang and Roman were up to. Since she started training with Odyn, she could've easily taken out these guards.

"If.. only you knew..," Ruby thought.

Ruby knew she had at least make it look believable. The girl charged at Roman , which he simply sidesteps, sending Ruby stumbling across the floor.

"Oh man, you're right Perry. I did need this.," Roman said laughing.

Perry raised his thumb in agreement as Roman continues to laugh. Roman walks over to Ruby and aims his dust weapon, a cane gun-sword named Melodic Cudgel, at Ruby as he speaks again.

"But seriously though, Red, how'd you even find this place?," Roman asked.

Instead of answering him, Ruby just growls and uses her Semblance in an attempt to escape from Roman. Using her speed, she tries running for an exit.

The crook looks around and is only momentarily startled before stands back up.

"Woah!," He said briefly startled.

Roman stands to his feet, spinning his cane gun-sword in his hand and aims the handle at Ruby's feet before he fires. Out of the cane comes a wire the wraps around Ruby's leg and acts like a grappling hook as it catches her and pulls the girl back towards Roman.

"I see you've got some tricks up your sleeve! Let me make this clear: We're not through here yet.," Roman said.

Just as he says this, a massive explosion then sounds off causing him to look up in slight annoyance.

"Oh.. for the love of.. Perry, would you and the boys mind taking care of whatever that was? As you can see, I'm kind of busy at the moment.," Roman asked.

Perry nodded as he took a group of White Fang soldiers and went to check on the loud noise. No sooner had Perry went to investigate the source of the explosion, when another one occurred.

"Oh for Pete's sake, what is going on here?!," Roman asked angered.

A third explosion sounds and multiple White Fang members come running around the corner, some firing at an unknown enemy. As they were firing at an unknown enemy, yet another explosion occurred,  this one sending white fang soldiers flying off their feet.

A group of Weiss, Blake, and Odyn came around the corner. Odyn deflecting the bullets with his hands, before returning fire with his light magic that he morphed into daggers of light. As the group was spotted, Roman growled in annoyance.

Ruby decides to take this moment to try and escape. She jumps on Roman's shoulders, pulls his hat down over his eyes, and then flees towards her friends.

The crook readjusts his hat and glares at the girl.

"Grr!! Someone just.. kill her!," He said annoyed.

Roman and the White Fang members around him open fire on Ruby, which she dodges and weaves between. Odyn then steps in front of her as he thrusts his fist forward, creating a Shockwave that knocks back Roman and the other white Fang soldiers.

Odyn looked at Ruby when she joined their group.

"You know.. you could've done that earlier, Ruby...," Odyn said smirking.

Ruby smiled back.

"Yeah, I know. But, I knew you would come to rescue me with the others.," Ruby replied.

Odyn chuckled and ruffled her hair, to which Ruby smiled at him.

"Fair enough, little rose.," Odyn replied.

Roman than barked some orders at the White fang soldiers, still annoyed.

"Attach this cart and spread the word: We're starting the train!," Roman said angrily.

"But sir, we're not finished with it yet!," The White Fang Soldier said panicking.

Roman then pins the white fang soldier to a wall with his cane as he speaks in a threatening tone.

"You either do it, or you're finished!," Roman said.

Ruby then turns to see another group of white fang members heading towards them until another explosion occurs, revealing Roy, Yang, Hailfire, and Flare behind them.

Yang runs towards her sister as the two embrace each other with the other teens then walking over to the two girls.

"Rubes! Thank goodness you're okay!," Yang said.

"Are you alright?," Weiss asked.

Ruby turns to see Roman had disappeared as she began her explanation.

"I'm fine, I'm fine! But listen! Torchwick's got all kinds of weapons and robots down there.," Ruby said.

Odyn spoke up and handed Ruby her weapon.

" By the way Ruby, here.," Odyn said handing Crescent Rose back to its owner after taking it off of his back.

"Thank you, odyn.," Ruby replied.

"You're welcome,  just.. try not to lose it again. Okay?," Odyn replied.

"Okay. I won't. Thank you...," Ruby said getting quiet as her face flushed red briefly.

"Ruby, what did you mean by weapons aboard that train?," Hailfire asked.

"Androids, mechs, they're all loaded up on the train cars!," Ruby answered.

"Ahhhh, that's ridiculous. These tunnels are sealed, the tracks lead to a dead-end.," Oobleck said.

They hear Roman over a speaker system as the train begins to leave.

"Get to your places, we are leaving now!," Roman said.

The train starts moving towards the tunnels.

"Yeah... about that doc...," Roy said.

"Where do you suppose they're going then?," Flare asked.

"Well, it sounds like they're going somewhere.," Yang said.

"We need more back up for this. I'll call Jaune.," Ruby said.

Odyn nodded.

"And I'll contact Khanna. I'm sure she and her team will be more than willing to help.," Odyn said.

"Good idea. Except... how are you going to do that? There's no signal for our scrolls down here.," Ruby replied.

"Oh don't worry. I have a way to contact them, even without a scroll.," Odyn answered.

Ruby suddenly realized what he meant.

"Wait.. Odyn, you mean you're using THAT way?," Ruby asked.

Odyn nodded.

"It's our only option at this point.," He replied.

He wasn't wrong and Ruby trusted him completely. She had trust this would work as Odyn closed his eyes before mentally contacting Khanna and the others.

Weiss looked puzzled.

"What's he doing?," She asked.

"He's contacting Khanna and telling her to round up some of the other teams to help us since we can't get through to them.," Ruby answered.

"How is he doing that without a scroll?," Blake asked.

"Hm.. I'm not quite sure how it works, but.. somehow thanks to their abilities as Elves they are able to establish a mental link with their target. Well, provided they have what Odyn and Roy call mana.," Ruby said.

"And... this works without the use of a scroll?," Weiss asked.

"Yeah. It's how I knew you guys were here.," Ruby answered.

"Huh... so that's what Odyn was doing when he had his eyes closed.," Blake said.

Odyn then opened his eyes and turned towards them.

"What did she say, Odyn?," Ruby asked.

Odyn smiled at her and tusseled her hair.

"Not to worry. My cousin said they're heading towards Jaune's team to warn them. They'll meet up with us in Vale.," Odyn said.

"That's good then, right Weiss?," Yang asked.

"I- I suppose it is enough for now.," Weiss admitted.

"Hey, bro. That's nice and all but we've got another issue to worry about.," Roy said.

Odyn nodded.

"Yeah, you're right Roy.," Odyn said.

"And that would be?," Blake asked.

"Someone has to stop that train first, right doc?," Hailfire answered.

"Yes, precisely. We should make haste.," Oobleck said.

"Alrighty then. Upsey daisy!," Odyn said walking over to Ruby and picking her up bridal style.

Ruby then began to blush furiously at this.

"W-wha-wha-wha-What are y-y-you d-doing, O-Odyn?!," Ruby asked blushing red.

"We don't have much time, this is faster.," Odyn told her.

" o-okay. B-but this is uh... r-really embarrassing!," Ruby stammered.

"I know. Hang on tight, Ruby. We have to catch that train!," Odyn said.

Ruby wrapped her arms around Odyn's shoulder as he then rocketed off down the tunnel, with her screaming as he did in surprise.

Roy then nodded to the others.

"Come on, let's follow them!," Roy said as he and Yang then darted off.

They were then followed by Blake, Zwei, Weiss, Hailfire, and Flare as the teens chased down the train.

In the tunnel....

The scene transitions to the train rushing through a tunnel, loaded with mechs. A White Fang member standing on the train hears a noise and looks outside the train to see rose petals. He brings out a communication device.

"I think they're on the-," The White Fang Soldier started to say.

He's then kicked in the head by a boot, belonging to Odyn as he and Ruby make it to the train. The others quickly follow suit and catch up to the duo. Ruby still shaken a bit, finally speaks up.

"Odyn?," She asked.

"Yeah?," He replied.

"Please.... don't suddenly take off like that again.. I (pants out of breath) thought I was going to die back there.," Ruby said trembling.

"😅 Oh, ha ha my bad. I'll be sure to warn you next time, okay?," Odyn replied sweatdropping slightly.

It was silent for a few seconds between them as Odyn began to walk forward before Ruby spoke again.

"Hey Odyn?," Ruby asked.

"Yes, what is it Ruby?," Odyn replied in question.

"Uh... um... I appreciate the lift and everything. But uh... c-could you p-put me down now?," Ruby asked with her face still red.

Odyn looked down and realized that was still carrying Ruby in his arms. Embarrassed, he quickly set her down on her feet as he then looked away. The ceiling if the tunnel became really interesting of a sudden as the dark elf felt a blush light up his face.

"O-oh u-uh.. s-sorry Ruby! I uh... had no idea I was still carrying you!," Odyn said embarrassed and blushing furiously.

Ruby also looked away temporarily in embarrassment.

"N-no it's f-fine o-odyn! It was an honest mistake, that's all...," Ruby said.

Roy cleared his throat as he and the others approached.

"Ahem! I do hope we're not interrupting anything, you two. But uh.. we do have other things to worry about right now.," Roy said.

"R-Right!," Both teens said.

Roy passed Odyn, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Real smooth there, cassanova.," Roy said teasing his brother.

"Oh, s-shut up Roy..," Odyn said embarrassed.

The teens then continued forward now that they were on top of the train.

Inside the train with Roman...

The shot cuts to Roman in the front of the train as a White Fang member rushes in.

"B-Boss, they made it on the train!," The White fang soldier said.

Roman sighs and then responds.

"Go and grab some cargo then to get them off this train!," Roman said.

The White fang soldier nodded and went to take care of his task.

"Man.. they're animals, every last one of them!," Roman said frustrated.

He looked awkwardly at the White Fang member next to him.

"Uh.. not you though, heh heh, you're great.," Roman said laughing awkwardly.

Back with the teens...

"We have to hurry, children! We must get to the front and stop this train!," Oobleck told them.

Weiss is seen looking down at something.

"Um.. Professor?," She said awkwardly.

"Doctor...," He corrects her.

Weiss points down to a hatch on the train.

"What.. is that thing?," She asks pointing to an object inside of a hatch.

Oobleck comes and looks at the object in question.

"That my dear... appears to be a bomb.," Oobleck said.

While team RWBY flinches back in surprise, team OHRF simply scowls.

"Well that's not good.," Hailfire said.

"Agreed, miss Caldern.," Oobleck said.

"That.. could be bad, like... really bad.," Roy said.

Ruby looks forward and points as she sees figures incoming.

"We got baddies, incoming!," Ruby said.

Dozens of White Fang members can be seen climbing onto the top of the train.

The Elves draw their swords, while Oobleck speaks up.

"Well, I didn't expect them to go...," He starts but trails off.

The bomb underneath them charges up and starts beeping.

"Easy on us.. Time to go, children!," Oobleck said running.

The teens and Zwei needed no reminder and quickly followed him.

As the teens begin to run away, Oobleck stops Blake.

"Blake! Detach the caboose! It will kill us all!," Oobleck told her.

"On it, doctor!," Blake said.

Blake jumps down onto the connectors and gets ready to cut the connection, but as she does, the connection comes loose on its own.

"Uh... okay? (Looks up at Oobleck) it uh... decoupled itself, doctor!," Blake said.

"What?!," Oobleck said in surprise.

"I guess he really doesn't want anyone else on this train.," Flare said.

As Oobleck looks back at the detached cart, it explodes in the tunnel. The Elves see this as well and become concerned.

"Uh... doc?," Roy asked.

"Oh dear, that isn't good...," Oobleck said.

"Neither is this!," Ruby said standing next to another open hatch.

"What is it?," Oobleck asked.

"It's... another one of those bombs!," Odyn said.

Oobleck looks around before running to the next train car and opening the hatch.

"No No No! They all have bombs!," He said.

 "Are they insane?!," Hailfire asked.

The bomb under the teens charges up and starts beeping and the cart they're on detaches itself, forcing them to jump to the next cart.

"This makes no sense!," Yang said.

The White Fang members climbing the train can be seen again.

"Get the humans!," a White Fang member said.

Rwby and OHRF jump forward to attack the oncoming enemies, while Oobleck watches the next car detatch itself and explode. Only this time it creates a hole allowing multiple types of Grimm to emerge.

"Oh dear...," Oobleck says in worry.

"I don't like that sound, what is it doc?," Odyn asked.

"Yeah, what are we dealing with here doc?," Roy asked.

The horde of Grimm begin advancing quickly toward the runaway train.

"He's leading Grimm into the city!," Oobleck said.

" He's doing what?!," Hailfire asked agast.

"It's the cars! They detach and explode, creating openings for the Grimm!," Oobleck said.

"That's insane!," Blake said.

" is he mad?!," Odyn asked.

"He may be. This is a criminal boss we're dealing with here, after all.," Roy suggested.

"We have to hurry! Weiss, Blake, Hailfire, and Yang! You four go below and try to stop those bombs!," Oobleck ordered.

Roy looked at Yang and grabbed her arm. She looked confused.

"Hang on, Yang I'm coming with you. There's no telling who's guarding those things, so I'd rather be prepared, just in case.," Roy said.

Yang smirked at him.

"😏 Alright, whatever you say handsome~," Yang said slyly.

Roy followed Yang and the other girls. That left Odyn, Ruby, Flare, and Oobleck with Zwei.

"What will we do, doc?," Odyn asked.

"Yeah, what about us?," Ruby asked curious.

"We are going to stop this train. Come along, you three. We haven't the time to waste!," Oobleck answered.

The group moves forward. As the train continues towards it destination, White Fang members start to pilot multiple Atlesian Paladin-290s, and jump to the top of the train. Ruby, Odyn, Flare, Zwei, and Oobleck are seen to be running.

"Up ahead!," Flare said.

A Paladin is seen charging towards them.

Odyn clicks his tongue in annoyance.

"Great... more mechs.. I hate these things!," Odyn said annoyed.

Oobleck was about to join the fight when Odyn brandished his sword. He looked to Ruby, who nodded.

"Ready?," He asked.

"Whenever you are, Odyn.," Ruby answered.

"Flare, back us up will you?," Odyn said.

Flare nodded as she ran behind Ruby and Odyn.

Odyn dashes forward, using his light magic to blind the Paladin before striking it with his blade. The force knocks the mech back as Ruby comes in taking shots and it's armor to even further stagger it. Odyn then signals to Ruby and they both charge in with blinding speed to strike it at the same time to knock it off of the train. The robot stumbles on the tracks before exploding upon hitting a barricade.

Another Paladin then appears with its guns trained on the group as Flare joins Rubyband Odyn in charging towards it with Oobleck following with Zwei behind.

With the other group...

Down below Blake, Weiss, Yang, Hailfire, and Roy all enter the train car.

"Well... this is what we trained for I guess.," Yang said.

"Right. You can't ever know what you need to work on or how strong you are without being thrown into a life or death battle first. I think this would qualify as such.," Hailfire said.

Weiss reaches into her pouch and gives Blake a magazine filled with Dust vials.

"Here Blake, this should help you.," Weiss said.

Blake slides the mag into Gambol Shroud, and then the three of them charge forward. Suddenly, Neopolitan drops from the ceiling and blocks their path.

"You guys go on ahead, this one's mine.," Yang said.

Hailfire looked towards Roy who shook his head. She knew what this meant, he would stay with Yang.

"Alright. Please, be careful my lord. And same to you, Yang.," Hailfire said as she left with Weiss and Blake towards the other carts.

As Neo prepares for their attack, Yang fires a round to distract her, allowing the other girls to continue forward. She looks back to Roy with a confused look.

"Why didn't you go with them?," She asked.

Roy sighed.

"Yang, we've been over this. I can't leave you on your own. There's no telling what will happen to you. I'll stay and back you up. You can have this fight, but I'm jumping in if I think you're in danger, got it?," Roy told her.

Yang sighed and smiled at him.

"Alright tough guy, have it your way. When I beat her by myself, you owe me one.," Yang replied.

"Okay, I got it.," Roy said.

Yang steps forward toward her opponent, staring down as Neo gives a sinister smile. The two begin their fight.

In the next car...

In the next train car, Blake, Weiss, and Hailfire  are seen running, and then look at each other when they hear the sound of revving up ahead.

"You go on ahead!," Weiss says.

"Got it!," Blake says.

Hailfire says nothing as she simply stands behind Weiss abit. The Schnee looks back at the Dark elf.

"What are you doing? Go with Blake!," Weiss said.

Hailfire shook her head.

"No Weiss. I'll stay here and help you.," Hailfire said.

"What, why would you do that?," Weiss asked.

"I'm getting a really bad vibe from this guy. Besides... you may be a human, but it doesn't change the fact that you're my friend Weiss. I don't want you to fight this guy alone! Blake can handle herself anyways.," Hailfire said.

Weiss was about to argue, but the man came barreling down with his chainsaw, narrowly missing them. Weiss then delivers a flurry of strikes while Hailfire rammed into the man to knock him down. This allowed Blake to proceed forward to the next car. The lieutenant got back up, chuckling.

"Finally, I get to kill a Schnee!," The White Fang lieutenant said.

Weiss holds up her rapier en garde before Hailfire steps in front of her.

"Hail?," Weiss asked.

The dark elf looks back to the girl before speaking up.

"Weiss... come on, let's beat this guy together!," She said.

"Right!," Weiss said shifting into her stance.

With Blake...

In the next train car, Blake stops and grits her teeth when she's greeted by a familiar foe.

"Hello there, kitty cat. We. Really need to stop meeting this way, people are going to talk.," Roman said smirking.

Blake grit her teeth in anger upon hearing his jeering comment.

"Shut up!," Blake said angered.

Blake charges forward to attack, starting their brief battle. She knocks him down, after a little while. When he attempts to get back up, Blake steps on his chest and points her sword at his throat. Roman chuckles nervously before his voice changes dramatically.

"Why are we fighting? I saw you at the rally, we're on the same side and you know it...," Roman said.

Blake grits her teeth again as she brings her blade down in anger.

"I thought I told you.. shut up!," Blake said angrily.

With Weiss and Hailfire...

Meanwhile, Weiss is fighting the Lieutenant. Things take a turn for the worst when time suddenly seems to slow down. Hailfire dashes towards her friend, but realized she wouldn't make it in time.

"C'mere, princess!," The White Fang lieutenant said menacingly.

The Lieutenant grabs Weiss' face and slams her into the floor, knocking her unconscious. He then throws her in the air, readying to hit her with his chainsaw... Except... he forgot about one thing, the dark elf. Hailfire dashed towards him as fast as he could before unsheathung her Elven sword and blocking the chainsaw.

The White Fang Lieutenant was surprised as he thought his weapon would cut right through this girl's sword.

Clang!

Hailfire pushed against the struggle of the two weapons as she skidded on one foot before settling into her warrior's stance. She hadn't used her shield yet, because she thought it may be overkill to use it. After a brief pause, she rushed forward again. Using her superior speed, she outflanked the faunus lieutenant and even started to overpower him with her well timed sword strikes.

This caused the WF Lieutenant to skid back. The grunted in annoyance as he didn't understand how a girl like Hailfire was overpowering him.

"Tch! You're not half bad, for a little girl that is.," He said.

Unfortunately, Hailfire heard that. If one knew anything about Hailfire, it was that you didn't ever call her a little girl. That was a big mistake, unless... you wanted to get beaten within inches of death that is.

"💢 What did you call me?," Hailfire asked.

"Did I make you mad, little girl?," The WF lieutenant said in a mocking tone.

Hailfire then expanded her shield as she rushed in. Her attacked became faster and faster suddenly. It was hard enough defending against the incredible speed of the Dark Elf teen's attacks from her sword, this meant the faunus wasn't at all prepared for when she started throwing kicks and punches at him. Hailfire blindsided him with a sudden barrage from her fists before kicking him hard in the gut and then tossing her shield at him to even further incapacitate him. Staggering back, the faunus attempted to charge towards the schnee heiress again, but was blindsided by Hailfire ramming into him with her shield. This sent him flying towards the door of the car they were in and towards the next car.

Back with Yang and Roy...

Yang's fight is still going badly and soon ends when Neo manages to throw her into the ceiling, knocking her unconscious. Neo turns around to approach Yang... when Roy blocks her blade from reaching the blonde's unconscious form.

He stares down at her, his burning eyes never leaving the shorter woman's own multicolored pupils.

"I don't think so. You and I have some unfinished business, Neo...," Roy said as he slipped into a stance with his blade pointed towards her.

Neo lost her sinister smile and frowned when she saw Roy point his blade at her. She simply spun her umbrella before Roy spoke up.

"And just so we're clear, that Semblance of yours won't really help you against me. I've fought people like you before who were far stronger and had the same ability as you do. ,"Roy said.

Neo frowned at this. This boy.. was formidable if he said that.

Still, from what Roy could feel about Neopolitan.. she wasn't inherently a bad person. She may have just been confused, but he didn't get the feeling that she was evil, not like a certain crime boss she worked for. Perhaps, he could show her another path after defeating her. This was the prevailing thought in his mind.

With this goal in mind, he steeled himself as he stared down Neo before they began their fight..

Back with Blake...

Roman is being held down by Blake with the cat faunus holding her blade to the crook's neck.

"Oh, still feisty. Soooo, what are we gonna do now? You think a little bow on top is gonna make people forget who you were? What you've done...?," Roman asks.

As she grits her teeth at his words, Blake hears the door from the previous train car open behind her. An unconscious Weiss is thrown to the floor, with the Lieutenant emerging from the doorway, holding his chainsaw. However, just as she think she may have to make a choice... Hailfire comes flying in to bash the White Fang Lieutenant with her shield again, sending him flying back and skidding on the floor. Blake is surprised before the dark elf gets her attention by calling to her.

"Blake, snap out of it!," Hailfire said.

Blake shakes her head and nods before kicking Roman in the face, knocking him out cold. She was over and picks up an unconscious Weiss as Hailfire leads the way forward to the their original target.

"Thanks, Hail.," Blake said.

The elf smiled at her faunus friend.

"Not a problem,  Blake. Now, let's diffuse those bombs before it's too late.," She replied.

Blake nodded as she followed her while carrying an unconscious Weiss.

Back with Roy and Yang....

Roy and Neo were still clashing blades as the dark elf defended his blonde haired friend well from the shorter woman with ice cream colored hair and eyes. Each time she tried getting to Yang in an effort to finish her off, Roy would parry her hidden blade before knocking her back.

Neo skid back as Roy stood in front of Yang, holding a defensive position. He pointed his blade towards her. She rushed forward again, only for Roy to parry her attack on Yang again. However,  she had to back off when she noticed the elf's blade glow a blue color. After leaping back to safety, she noticed the gash in the train roof from Roy's attack. That made her more than a little wary of him now. Neo was tiring and knew she had to defeat Roy if she was ever going to finish off Yang, but before she could...

A masked warrior with raven colored hair and clad in red suddenly appeared out of a portal. The mysterious woman looked in Neo's direction. However the shorter woman in stature was too tired to deal with this new opponent and quickly vanished into thin air before she incurred this new individual's wrath. Roy sighed and sheathed his blade.

The eerie swordswoman looks to wards the young man before speaking.

"Young man... you did well in defending Yang here. What is your name?," The masked woman asked.

"My name is Roy Albanar, and as you can see... I'm a Dark Elf.," Roy replied.

"I see... What is your intention with Yang there?," She asked.

"Nothing, Ma'am. Yang is my friend and I didn't want her getting hurt.," Roy responded.

He couldn't tell by looking but it seemed like the woman was perhaps smirking at him.

"Very well then, Roy. When the girl wakes, tell her this: I saved you once, don't expect the same courtesy a second time.," She told him.

Roy nodded.

"I will. You have my word.," Roy said.

The woman nodded before slashing her crimson blade to the side, creating a portal. She walks away from Yang and into the portal. At that moment, Yang regains some consciousness and slowly gets back up. As she opens her eyes again, she gets a brief glimpse at her rescuer before the woman disappears.

Roy turns to his friend and smiles.

"Well, good morning sleepy head., " Roy said.

Yang chuckled before lightly punching his arm at his tease of her.

"Thanks for the save, Roy.," She said.

"No problem. Would you mind telling me who that woman with the mask was? She seemed to know you.," Roy asked.

"Yeah. I guess you met my mom, huh?," Yang replied.

"That woman was.. your mother?," Roy asked a little confused.

Yang nodded.

"Yup, that was my mother.. Raven Branwen.," She responded.

Roy was silent for a moment as he took in the info.

"But enough about her, we need to get to those bombs.," Yang said.

Roy nodded as they both then left the scene.

Back with Ruby, Odyn, Flare, and Oobleck...

The Doctor dodges a couple swipes from the Paladin, and then runs to the top of its head, and shoots it in its engine before jumping back down. Ruby then twirls Crescent Rose and Odyn snaps his fingers to summon daggers of light. Oobleck, Odyn, and Ruby each fire projectiles at the Paladin leaving it open for Flare to rush in and knock it off the train with a well timed kick to its side.

The teens then switch positions with the doctor.

"The three of you, go on ahead! It's time I teach them a lesson!," Oobleck said.

"But..," Ruby tried arguing before she felt a hand on her shoulder.

Odyn shook his head.

"He wants to do this, Ruby. The Doctor intends to buy us some time so we can stop this train.," Odyn told her.

Ruby sighed as she watched the Doctor take off running towards the other Paladin-290s. Flare and Odyn both nod at her. She relents and elects to follow them. Before they leave though, Ruby notices the saddened Zwei looking up at her. She smiles and motions for him to go join his new friend.

"Go on, boy.," She says.

Odyn bends down and pets the pooch on the back.

"Don't worry, Zwei. I'll be sure to keep your master safe.," He said.

With that, Zwei expression changes dramatically and barks happily before running off to fight alongside the Doctor. The trio of teens hurry towards the front of the train. Shortly after, the other teens emerge and join Ruby, Odyn and Flare at the front of the train. The silver eyed girl looks on worriedly before realizing they were headed straight for a think concrete wall.

"Are the bombs all diffused?," Flare asked.

"Yup, no problems there.," Hailfire replied.

"Umm... okay that's great but... what do we do about THAT?," Ruby asked in concern.

The other followed her line of sight and realized what she meant.

"What do we do?," Blake asked.

The Elves looked at each other and nodded.

"Everyone get behind me.," Odyn said.

The teens did as instructed. Odyn slammed his palm into the hood of the train, summoning a barrier of his light magic that surrounded them. Roy reinforced the dome of magic with his lightning magic, and Weiss added a third layer, creating a shield of ice. Everyone then braced themselves for the impending collision with the concrete wall. The train crashes into the wall, the explosion causing the screen to go white.

Middle of Vale: Town Square....

The camera switches to Ruby's first person perspective as she recovers from the collision. She could feel her head still spinning from dizziness and nearly fell over if it wasn't for Odyn catching her. She smiled at the Dark Elf as he helped her to her feet.

"Are you alright, little rose?," He asked.

Ruby smiled at him.

"Y-yeah. At least,  I think so. Thanks, Odyn.," She replied.

Odyn nodded and smiled back at her.

"Of course.," He said.

Ruby then hears the sound of an emergency alarm blaring as her vision comes back with buildings into her view. She turns her head to the lower right and sees Blake and Yang slowly getting back up, her sister coughing as the dust settles. Yang was being helped to her feet by Roy in much of the same manner that Ruby was helped by Odyn.

Hailfire is seen to be helping Flare to her feet along with the other members of Team Rwby stirring from the wreckage. The silver eyed girl turns her head again and sees Weiss sitting up against a large piece of debris, who also gives a thumbs up at her team leader signaling she's okay.  The group of teens then notice something... they were back in the center of Vale with many civilians staring at them in confusion.  That wasn't a good sign. Ruby hears the sound of low rumbles and growls from behind her. Suddenly, a giant King Taijitu emerges from the hole, and multiple Grimm start pouring into Vale. The civilians scream as they attempt to flee the chaos. The sounds of screams and roars fill the air, and all Team RWBY can do is watch in horror.

OHRF then snaps them back into reality, they had a crisis on their hands.

"Ruby!," Odyn called as he unsheathed his blade.

Ruby looks towards him surprised and in a daze still.

"Snap out of it, we have a crisis on our hands!," Odyn thundered at her.

The girl shook her head before slapping her cheeks with her hands. Odyn was right, they had a job to do now. The black and Crimson haired girl then donned a determined look on her face as she twirled her dust weapon briefly before shifting into a stance.

Hailfire unsheathed her Elven sword and expanded her shield, Roy unsheathed his Blade again, and Flare activated her gauntlets  as Odyn barked orders. Team Rwby followed suit and prepared for combat as the emergency alarm kept blaring as the screen zooms into Ruby's determined face as the screen fades to black.

End chapter

To be continued...

Ending theme: My Song My Days by Solidemo (Black Clover Ending 6)

Visuals: Main Cast of this story (i.e- Team Rwby and OHRF)

And done! Whew! That was a long chapter spanning 2 episodes. There were some extra stuff I had to add so it would make it more interesting.  Sorry about not including the teams diffusing the bombs on screen, had to cut that portion to shorten the chapter.

You can probably tell this chapter mainly had bonding between Ruby and Odyn, there's a reason for that. This arc in mountain Glenn is highlighting Odyn x Ruby primarily because they're the main pairing of this story. I was told by a reviewer of this story (you know who you are lol) that having Ruby confess to Odyn would be the perfect way to end volume 2 of the Rwby cannon story. I ultimately decided that direction was better than what I originally had in mind.

Next chapter will be shorter since it's the end of Volume 2. Volume 3 will succeed that chapter. Feel free to vote on the poll of which openings I should use for Volume 3: Hibana (Tales of Arise), Song 4 U (Tales of Xilia 2), Re:Call (Sousei no Onmyouji), or  Vivid Vice (Jujutsu Kaisen). Feel free to choose any 2 of those and either PM me, leave a comment, or leave a review as to which 2 I should use for Volume 3.

That'll be all for now. This chapter took a few weeks to write, hopefully next one won't be anywhere near that long lol 😅.

Next time: Chapter 16: Breach; Ruby's Confession?
