Zanpakuto: A Zanpakuto is a mystical sword bound to its wielder's soul, embodying their spirit and unique essence. In its sealed form, it appears as a regular katana with no special abilities visibly apparent. However, within it resides a sentient spirit that can communicate with its wielder, guiding them toward unlocking its true potential. Through training, reflection, and synchronization with this spirit, the wielder can achieve Shikai (initial release) and Bankai (final release), each unleashing powerful, unique abilities that reflect the user's soul.
Infinite Growth: This trait grants the user limitless potential for growth, allowing them to evolve in strength, skill, intelligence, and abilities at an accelerated rate. The more the user trains, fights, or experiences challenges, the faster they improve. Over time, this trait enables them to surpass even godlike beings, as there is no ceiling to their growth.
Chakra Fruit: The Chakra Fruit grants godlike chakra reserves, drastically enhancing all physical, mental, and spiritual abilities. It unlocks the Rinne Sharingan, allowing for dimensional travel, large-scale genjutsu, and enhanced perception. The user gains mastery over all elemental transformations, regeneration, flight, and the ability to create Truth-Seeking Orbs, as well as other reality-warping abilities.
Seated on his old leather couch, Vin hovered a finger in front of the three shimmering entries on the holographic screen.
Observing the descriptions, his excitement only seemed to double. He knew what these items were—at least two of them.
Zanpakuto, from the anime Bleach.
Chakra Fruit, from the anime Naruto.
Their descriptions only refreshed his memories of the immense power of beings like Kaguya and the Otsutsuki from Naruto, and Yammamoto and Aizen from bleach.
Not to mention the infinite growth trait, the description alone was enough to show how powerful it was.
He'd taken a gamble, and now he had something to show for it.
Not wanting to waste any more time, he focused back on the thirty cards that were still hovering in front of him.
With a single thought, all of the cards vanished from his sight and appeared in his system's inventory.
Name: Vin

Looking at his packed inventory, Vin ignored most of the useless things and focused on what he came for.
Starting with the Zanpakuto, he reached out a finger and selected it.
As he did so, a prompt box appeared.
Would you like to use Zanpakuto [Sealed State]? Yes | No
He hovered over "Yes" for a moment before selecting it. The listing vanished from his inventory, and a soft glow flickered in the air before him.
In an instant, a sword formed in his hands. The sheathed blade was cool to the touch, its hilt wrapped in dark cloth with a simple, functional design. It wasn't flashy, but it didn't need to be. The weight was heavier than he expected—solid and steady in a way that made it feel more than just metal. For a moment, he thought he felt something shift inside it, like a breath held in silence.
Though he was unsure how things would work since he didn't have spiritual power, Vin had a feeling he'd be able to wield the blade eventually — if not on his own, then with the system's help.
He set it aside carefully against the couch, making sure not to scratch the worn leather.
With a deep breath, Vin shifted his focus back to the inventory panel.
Hovering over the Infinite Growth (Trait), he reached out and selected it as well.
Just like before a prompt appeared:
Would you like to use Infinite Growth (Trait)? Yes | No
Quicker this time, he reached out and selected yes. However, this time there was no visible item. Instead, Vin only felt a warm current spread through out his entire body. There was no immediate sign of a change but Vin could intuitively feel as if an invisible restriction had been taken off of his body.
The sensation felt freeing, like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Remembering the description, Vin resolved to test this ability tomorrow to see what it was really capable of.
Finally, he turned his attention back to the last and arguably most important card he had pulled.
The Chakra Fruit. The thing that made Kaguya Otsutsuki as strong as she was and essentially kick started the story of Naruto.
His own memory of the Naruto series was a bit hazy so Vin wasn't sure if the system description had covered everything, but even that was enough.
Would you like to use Chakra Fruit? Yes | No
Vin hesitated this time. He couldn't remember if there were any risks involved with consuming it. Would eating this be safe? The system had given it to him, so presumably yes.
It wasn't until he glanced back at the description that he realized in his previous excitement he had missed a small disclaimer at the bottom stating, "Safe Consumption for the Host".
Relief settled over him, but the war between logic and excitement hadn't fully ended. Safe doesn't mean painless, he thought, his thumb hovering over the "Yes" option. But hesitation wasn't going to get him anywhere.
He selected "Yes."
The fruit formed in his palm almost instantly, small and crimson, its surface smooth with faint grooves running along its sides. The soft glow of the television danced across it, making it look more like a jewel than something edible. He turned it over once, inspecting it, half-expecting some sign that it was more than it appeared. But it remained just a fruit.
Taking a breath, he raised it to his lips and bit in.
The taste caught him off guard. Sweet, with a faint floral tang that lingered on his tongue. It wasn't just pleasant — it was addictive. He took another bite, and another, chewing slowly as warmth spread through him, starting from his chest and branching out like roots through every limb. His body tensed as if bracing for something, muscles flexing involuntarily.
By the time he finished the last bite, the warmth had intensified into something deeper — like hot coals buried beneath his skin.
Then it hit him.
A pulse.
Not a heartbeat, but something else entirely. A second rhythm, surging beneath his normal pulse. It wasn't painful, but it wasn't comfortable either. He clutched his chest, eyes wide, breathing sharp and uneven.
The warmth wasn't just spreading anymore — it was moving. No, circulating. He could feel it, like rivers winding through his body. His hands trembled, and for the first time, he felt something…familiar. It reminded him of the way chakra was described in Naruto — an internal energy flowing through pathways in the body. Except now, it wasn't a concept or something from a show. It was real.
His attention was pulled to his head. A pressure had gathered at the center of his forehead, a dull throb just above his brow. He pressed his fingers against it, expecting to feel a bump or some sign of physical change, but there was nothing. No bump. No mark. But the sensation didn't leave. It wasn't painful, but it was there. Like something waiting to open.
His breathing steadied, but his senses didn't.
Everything felt sharper. His eyes flickered to the room around him, and he noticed details he hadn't paid attention to before. The faint crease on the couch cushion. The slow, almost imperceptible flicker of the television's glow. The soft hum of the refrigerator from the kitchen. Sounds he'd never noticed before now felt present, as if his mind had tuned into a frequency it hadn't known existed.
He stood slowly, testing his balance. There was no dizziness or discomfort. If anything, he felt better. His limbs felt lighter but stronger, his movements more controlled. Every part of his body felt like it had been fine-tuned. He flexed his hands, feeling the smooth motion of each finger like it was the first time he'd ever moved them.
Curious, he glanced down at the couch. On impulse, he crouched slightly, gripped its edge with one hand, and lifted. To his astonishment, it rose with the same effort it took to lift a dinner plate.
Even though a couch isn't that heavy, to do it so effortless was something else entirely.
He nodded to himself, placing it down and flexing his fingers one last time. It wasn't just raw strength he was feeling — his awareness, reaction time, and even his ability to think clearly had improved. It's like someone wiped the fog from my brain.
Then it happened.
His vision shifted. For an instant, his view of the room changed. It was as if a second layer of reality had pulled away, revealing something more refined beneath it. Time seemed to slow as he watched the fan above slow to a crawl. The light from the television seemed sharper, the lines of the furniture more defined. But it was gone as quickly as it came, leaving behind only a faint ringing in his ears.
His heart pounded in his chest. He rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hands, blinking rapidly. What was that?
Then he noticed something.
His reflection.
The television's screen, faintly reflective in the dim room, showed his face. Normal at first glance. But as he stepped closer, his breath hitched. His eyes.
His eyes had changed.
The pupils were still round, but something hovered just outside of them — faint, barely visible patterns circling the irises. It wasn't a full Rinnegan, nor the tomoe of a Sharingan. It was something in between. The faint outline of concentric circles, dim and incomplete, as if half-formed. He leaned forward, squinting, his breath fogging the screen. The pattern wasn't glowing or fully defined, but it was there.
He blinked hard, shaking his head. It wasn't like the eyes from Naruto he'd seen in countless fights. This wasn't a Sharingan or a Byakugan. It wasn't the fully developed Rinne Sharingan either. It was something in-between. An incomplete form? He didn't know what it was or what it could do, but it was there.
With a steadying breath, Vin swiped the system screen away, though his eyes remained locked on his faint reflection in the television. The concentric lines in his irises had faded, leaving his eyes looking normal—at least on the surface.
But he knew better. His body had changed in ways that couldn't be seen.
Chakra now surged through him like an ocean current, steady and endless. Each second, he felt it expand within him.
His five senses had been elevated to something beyond human. Every sound, every shift of air, every flicker of light felt noticeable. His physical strength was just as startling. He felt as if he could easily wrestle a dinosaur. He glanced at his arms, expecting to see bulging muscles or some visible sign of his transformation. But no—his frame remained just as lean as before, deceptively ordinary.
Still, something was missing. The abilities tied to the Chakra Fruit—flight, elemental control, Truth-Seeking Orbs—none of them were active. He tried to summon something, anything, but it felt like a door was locked inside him. His brow furrowed in frustration until realization dawned. The Dojutsu. His eyes weren't complete, perhaps that was the reason.
A soft beep from the kitchen clock pulled him back to the moment. He realized he hadn't checked the time in a while. It was nearing midnight, and his older brother, Marcus, would be returning soon.
Marcus worked long shifts as a Nursing Assistant at a local hospital so he usually returned pretty late.
Vin rose, carefully grabbing the Zanpakuto, he mentally willed it to enter his inventory. He wasn't about to start swinging a sword in his cramped living room.
Better to keep things low-key, especially since his brother would be home soon.
He straightened his T-shirt and padded over to the kitchen, pulling open the fridge in search of a late-night snack.
Just as he was about to close the fridge, he seemed to sense something and his eyes shot towards the front door.
Sure enough, the apartment door clicked and in walked Marcus. His shoulders slumped with exhaustion, a gym bag slung over one arm and eyes scanning the apartment automatically, as if expecting something amiss. He paused when he saw Vin still awake—there was a flicker of concern behind his tired gaze, as though he were silently assessing his younger brother's well-being.
"Still up?" Marcus asked, running a hand through his short brown hair. His voice was tired but warm. "School's almost out, you should be getting rest. Or are you excited for summer break?"
Vin nodded, remembering that the end of the school year was near.
Since he'd woken up here a month ago, he hadn't felt this body's school routine strongly—just a haze of boring classes, normal kid stuff.
But with the end of the year approaching, he'd have more time to explore his powers, and decide how to navigate this new world.
"Yeah," he said finally, forcing a small smile. "Just thinking about summer. You're home late."
Marcus shrugged, tossing his bag onto a chair. "Busy night at the hospital. Heard about that fight in New York? We got a few transfers—civilians caught in the crossfire. It's crazy how often these super-battles happen now." He paused, looking Vin over. "You okay? You look…thoughtful."
Vin quickly composed his face, slipping into a slightly sheepish expression that a ten-year-old might wear. "Just tired," he said, which wasn't even a lie. The results of his spin's today had left his mind racing. He needed time to process what he'd gained—and what he planned to do next. "School's almost done, and I guess I'm just excited for the break."
Marcus nodded, accepting the explanation easily enough. "Alright, well, go get some sleep. I'm going to shower and call it a night." With that, Marcus disappeared down the narrow hallway, the sound of running water soon filling the silence.
Vin returned to the couch, switching off the TV to let the darkness settle, afterwards heading towards his room.
He could feel the new power resting within him. He imagined drawing the Zanpakuto in some quiet, abandoned alleyway, testing Infinite Growth by training each day until he no longer felt weak and uncertain.
Outside, a siren wailed softly in the distance. He didn't flinch this time.
