Fated Adventure.

Chapter 24: 24. Third.

I held my second Bishop piece in my hands, preparing to summon the next member of my peerage—another magic user.

"Wish me luck," I said, glancing at Yue and Serenity. This one might be a little harder to convince.

"Good luck, Darling."

"Good luck, Master."

With that, the Bishop piece glowed, and I was once again pulled into the dream space.

A figure in a deep purple cloak stood before me, her face hidden in shadow. As the summoning process continued, information about me and my offer filtered into her mind.

"Hello, my name is Ryan," I greeted her.

"Why have you summoned me?" Her voice was calm and almost emotionless—similar to Serenity's.

"I want to offer you complete freedom from your father," I said. "Joining my peerage will sever any connection he has to you—no more mind control, body control, or influence of any kind. You'll also be transported to another world, far beyond his reach." I held up the glowing Bishop piece.

The shadows around her shifted, responding to her internal turmoil.

"And the cost?" she asked.

"The cost is you, of course," I admitted plainly. "But in return, you'll gain the ability to travel to different worlds, a form of immortality, freedom from your father, and a fivefold growth rate in all your abilities. In exchange, you'll be bound to me as part of my peerage. This bond is stronger than marriage, and I do hope for a romantic relationship in the future. But you won't be alone—I have 15 pieces in total, and two are already filled."

The shadows churned again.

"To be clear," I continued, "I will never force you into anything. You're free to build your emotions at your own pace. If you want time, I'm happy to take things slow—dates, getting to know each other, whatever works. Additionally, joining my peerage won't alter your personality or force any kind of blind loyalty."

The tension in the air shifted, the shadows settling.

"And you're certain this will sever my connection to my father?" she asked, her voice quieter this time.

"One hundred percent," I confirmed. "He won't be able to touch your mind or your body. The only connection you'll have is to me, and I will never try to control you."

She stood silent for a moment before speaking again.

"Why me?"

I scratched my head awkwardly. "Well… this is a bit embarrassing, but in my original world, you were a character from a TV show, and I had quite the crush on you. But beyond that, I like your personality—calm, intelligent, book-loving. And I want to help you. It's a combination of things."

The shadows around her stilled. Then, slowly, she reached up and pulled back her hood, revealing pale skin, dark purple eyes, and black hair with a violet tint. On her forehead, a red, diamond-shaped mark stood out against her skin.

Rachel Roth—better known as Raven from the Teen Titans. The daughter of Trigon.

"You do know I'm part demon, right?" she asked, watching me closely.

I smirked. "My other peerage members include an immortal vampire and a woman whose body is lethal to the touch. I know of goddesses, devils, dragons, angels, and more. I'm also immortal, and I've already died once, so… yeah, a half-demon isn't a dealbreaker for me."

She raised an eyebrow. "That sounds like an interesting story."

"Just a bit," I admitted. "So, are you interested in joining my peerage?" I held up the Bishop piece.

Rachel stared at it for a long moment before nodding. "I am."

"Perfect. Before we finalize it, the world I'm currently in is a magical one—filled with witches and wizards."

"Like Harry Potter?" she asked, an almost skeptical edge to her voice.

"Uh… exactly like Harry Potter. Because it is the Harry Potter world," I admitted. "In two months, Hogwarts will start its new term. I'll be attending, and if you want, you can come too."

Her eyes lit up slightly, a rare flicker of emotion. "I love the Harry Potter books. They're some of my favorites."

I grinned. "Good news, then. When you join, you'll revert to an 11-year-old so you can enroll properly. We can go shopping soon and get your wand and supplies, but we won't get our Hogwarts letters for another month."

She nodded. "Alright."

I stepped forward, holding the Bishop piece up to her chest. "Rachel Roth… are you willing to join my peerage?"

She hesitated only a second before offering a small smile. "Yes."

I pressed the piece to her, and the world shifted.

---

Rachel materialized before me, her form settling as the Bishop piece took effect. She immediately felt the change—the oppressive presence of her father, the constant weight of his influence, was gone.

[DC is now available for travel.]

[Rachel Roth has joined the peerage.]

"He's gone." Her voice was quiet, almost in disbelief. Slowly, she turned her gaze to me. "Thank you."

I nodded.

Her eyes flicked around the room, taking in the two other girls present. Yue, with her porcelain doll-like beauty, and Serenity, with her quiet, calculating gaze.

Strangely, Rachel could feel their emotions—just as she could sense mine. It seemed to be another effect of the peerage bond.

"This is Yue and Serenity—Sera for short," I introduced. "And this is Rachel. Or Raven, if you prefer."

"Either works," she replied.

"Sera, Rachel doesn't have the same immortality as me and Yue. Rachel, you should avoid touching Serenity—her body is naturally poisonous. However, if you do touch her by accident and die, you'll just revive 24 hours later. You're essentially immortal as long as I'm alive."

Rachel blinked. "Got it."

"Yes, Master," Serenity added, unbothered. As long as she could touch me, she didn't mind.

Rachel looked between them again, then at me. "This is definitely going to be interesting."
