Chapter 216: Breaking the seals but not the chains
As then Ritsuka vanished, as he came behind the dark Figure, as then Ritsuka used another "Cries Dream Slash In Red" as then with Three slash and one explosion, as the Dark Figure was on the ground dead.
Ritsuka looked at the dark Figures, as all of Ritsuka Umbrel summoned rettunr back to his shadow, all but Chaos who still need to be here. "Let's see".
Jeanne looked at Ritsuka. "What are you trying to do".
"Arise!".
As the shadows coved the dark Figure and it failed, so Ritsuka tryed it again as it failed and he tryed again and it failed, this was the last time
"ARISE!"
Ritsuka shadow coved the Dark Figure, as then everyone was sent back, both energy was figured as then the Dark Figure rose hair body cover by Ritsuka shadow, but then his body starts to change as Ritsuka looked at it, the Dark Figure looked very different now, he now looked like a large, muscular shadow warrior with a menacing appearance, featuring two pairs of black wings, jagged black armor, blank white eyes, glowing purple skin, and a single horned helmet on his head; he wields a massive blade resembling a centipede.
Ritsuka blinked. "Will this is new".
The shadow Figure then spoke. "Give me a name master".
Ritsuka thought for a bit as he spoke. "Bellion"
Jeanne took a step back, gripping her flag tightly as she observed the newly reborn Bellion. "This… this power… it's unlike your usual Umbra Summons, Ritsuka."
Sherlock adjusted his coat, analyzing the transformation with sharp eyes. "It seems this entity had an exceptionally strong will in life. That, combined with your unique necromantic abilities, allowed him to evolve beyond a standard summon."
Chaos simply nodded, his expression unreadable. "A powerful addition to your forces, Master."
Bellion knelt before Ritsuka, his massive blade resting against the cavern floor. "I exist to serve you, my lord. Command me."
Ritsuka looked at him, then at his own hands. This was different. Normally, when he resurrected someone as an Umbra Summon, they retained much of their original form and personality, albeit bound to his will. But Bellion… he was different. His form had been altered, his power amplified.
He grinned. "Well then, Bellion, welcome to the team. Let's see what you're capable of soon."
Jeanne, still wary, lowered her flag slightly. "If he's truly under your control, then fine. But we must remain cautious—this place is still filled with unknown dangers."
Sherlock nodded. "Agreed. And we still need to figure out exactly why these seals exist. If Sion is right, breaking them could unleash something even worse."
Ritsuka tapped his communicator. "Sion, give me an update. We just got ourselves a new ally, but I need to know if we're still green to proceed with breaking the seals."
Sion's voice came through immediately. "We're still deciphering, but whatever's inside these seals isn't normal. We're finding traces of ancient, pre-Norse energies—something older than even the Aesir themselves."
Ritsuka frowned. "That's… not great. Keep me posted." He turned to Bellion. "For now, stay close and be ready to fight. We might need your strength soon."
Bellion nodded, his glowing white eyes filled with silent determination.
As the group prepared to move out, Jeanne cast one last glance at Bellion before sighing. "I hope we're not making a mistake."
Ritsuka just smirked. "Wouldn't be the first time."
Ritsuka then stopped, as he spoke. "Wait, maybe we can still break the seal".
Sharlock looked at as he spoke. "Wait what do you mean by that".
Ritsuka looked the seals. "We need to break this, to get into that of Asgard right, so what we um, Destroy the Circle but not the chains".
Jeanne looked at Ritsuka as she spoke. "How do we do that".
Ritsuka srugged as Bellion went into Ritsuka Shadow. "Don't know, that is do the 4 you to finger out, I need to get back to my team, Chaos stay here like plan, we are still finding the remaining 8 seals".
As then Ritsuka Shadow stepped back to his group BB, Loki, Brynhildr and Noivern, and Sigurd, as they were bellow that of Asgard still trying to find away to get up there as then breaks the seal there.
BB smirked as she saw Ritsuka reappear in the group. "Welcome back, Senpai~! Did you have fun with your little detour?"
Loki crossed his arms, tilting his head. "So, did you find anything useful, or was it just another headache waiting to happen?"
Ritsuka sighed. "We found the Midgard seal, but I left the others to figure out how to break it without messing with the chains. Oh, and I also got a new summon Bellion. Pretty strong."
Brynhildr perked up at the mention of the new summon but remained silent. Siegfried, standing beside her, simply nodded. "A worthy addition, no doubt. But our priority remains getting to Asgard."
Noivern, Ritsuka's loyal flying companion, let out a low growl as it scanned the area. The floating lands of Asgard loomed above them, distant yet ever-present.
BB placed a hand on her hip. "So, any bright ideas on how we're getting up there? I'd rather not spend another hour waiting for divine intervention."
Loki smirked. "Divine intervention? Well, I am a god, you know."
Ritsuka raised an eyebrow. "Then how about you actually do something useful and get us up there?"
Loki laughed. "I could… but where's the fun in making things easy?"
Siegfried let out a deep sigh, clearly unamused. "Enough games. We must act now."
Ritsuka thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers. "Alright, I have an idea. Noivern, you're carrying me. Loki, you can teleport, right?"
Loki rolled his eyes. "Obviously."
"Good. Then grab BB and Brynhildr. Sigurd, you jump. We're getting up there now."
With that, the team sprang into action. Noivern took flight, carrying Ritsuka as the rest of the team executed their own means of reaching Asgard. The time to break the seal was now.
BB then spoke. "Wait didn't we have this conversation before, and did you Senpai said that if we fly there we will be just shit down by divin weapons that will happen".
Loki then looked at them as he spoke. "Or we can take the back door".
Ritsuka just looked at Loki, as he spoke. "Wait, I thought you were joking about the Backdoor".
2 minutes later, it shows the group, break a door, as they saw more stairs that lead of to Asgard, the reason why they weren't captured was simple, the stairs were at the side of the whole city.
BB blinked, raising an eyebrow. "Well, I didn't expect that to actually work. This is definitely Loki's kind of solution." She snickered, clearly impressed.
Ritsuka glanced at Loki with a mixture of disbelief and exasperation. "I honestly thought you were just making a joke about the 'back door.' But it actually exists, doesn't it?"
Loki just grinned, completely unfazed. "I never joke about the important stuff, kid. I know Asgard better than most gods, after all."
Brynhildr, who had been quietly observing, spoke up. "This path… it feels different. There's something off about it."
Ritsuka nodded, his expression serious. "I don't trust it, but we don't have a lot of time. Let's keep moving."
As the group ascended the stairs, Noivern fluttered behind them, his eyes scanning the surroundings warily.
Sigurd, who had remained mostly silent until now, glanced back. "The way is quiet. Too quiet. Stay alert."
BB gave him a playful nudge. "You're just as tense as ever, huh, Sigurd?"
Sigurd didn't reply, his focus on the stairway ahead.
They reached a landing, where the stairs seemed to stretch higher into the sky, the top still hidden by the vastness of Asgard. The air was heavy, charged with a divine energy that seemed to thrum against their skin. It wasn't the usual aura they had been feeling—this one felt more oppressive, like something was waiting for them.
Loki, stepping forward with a smirk, shrugged. "Well, if anything's going to get us noticed, it's probably not a good idea to keep sneaking around. I say we take the fight to whoever's in charge."
Ritsuka crossed his arms, eyeing Loki carefully. "We might have to, but let's be strategic. There's a good chance the defenses are set to react the moment we step out in the open."
BB pulled out a small gadget from her pocket, her playful demeanor replaced by a more focused one. "We need a plan, Senpai. You can't just charge in blindly."
Ritsuka chuckled softly. "I never said I would. But let's be ready for whatever comes. If we have to fight, we'll make it count."
With that, the group prepared to make their way up the remaining stairs. Loki's mischievous smile never wavered as they ventured deeper into Asgard, ready for whatever challenges awaited them.
Sigurd then just stopped. "Wait a minute".
Ritsuka stopped at as he looked back at his servant. "What is it".
Sigurd just spoke in confusion. "If the always was back dore to Asgard why didn't the gods Enemy just used it, or why didn't the giants used this, of the Jotune that Thor killed back in the golden day just went of the stairs, or even other entities".
Ritsuka just looked at him as he spoke. "Wow, real life plot hole".
Sigurd frowned, clearly trying to work through the logic of the situation. "Exactly. If this was such a well-known route, why wasn't it used before? There has to be a reason why it wasn't exploited."
Ritsuka scratched his chin, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Well, Sigurd, sometimes the easiest answers are the ones we don't think about. But you're right—this isn't just some little secret door. Something about it doesn't sit right."
BB, ever the pragmatist, cut in. "Could it be some kind of trap, or is there something about this place that prevents anyone from using it?"
Loki, who had been walking ahead, turned around with a thoughtful look. "Ah, that's an interesting question, Sigurd. There's a lot more to Asgard than meets the eye. Maybe this path was used, but something changed. Or it could be that only certain individuals—like me—know how to use it." He grinned slyly, clearly enjoying the moment. "Perhaps there's something about the layout or divine protection that prevents ordinary mortals or even gods from just strolling up the back way."
Sigurd didn't look entirely convinced. "Seems odd. If this was really that hidden, why is it so easy for us to just walk right in?"
Ritsuka crossed his arms. "That's the real question, isn't it? Either we're walking into something major or... we're being allowed to walk in for a reason. Maybe someone wants us to reach the top."
"Or someone is waiting for us at the top," BB added, her voice growing more serious.
Ritsuka nodded, his expression hardening. "Yeah. Either way, we need to keep our guard up."
They continued their ascent, the tension rising with every step. The truth behind the "backdoor" to Asgard was still an unknown, but the further they went, the more Ritsuka felt like they were walking straight into a web. A web that might just be waiting for them to get caught.
The group stoped on top a stair, as they saw golden gate, it was big as Loki felt something was of.
Ritsuka looked at the Gate. "This must the entrenched to Asgard".
He opened the giant dore, as he saw it was gaint room, as it was full multiple Statue of many figures, non seem like God's, some like soldier but in the middle was one statue, a large, imposing stone statue with a hooded angel-like design, featuring six wings that can transform into additional arms, giving him a total of eight limbs; he has glowing red eyes, black sclera, and a sinister smile, with a purple gemstone on his forehead.
Ritsuka then saw the was a total of 13 statue not counting the one in the middle, as he saw another door. "There it is, must be the way".
As the group of started to Move, Ritsuka stepped his foot and his fight or flight instinct kicked he moved his arm and everyone stopped, as then they saw butterfly fly in, as then on speed faster then what any human can see, the butterfly was there and next second what was there was a scorched ground, too the group who non of them were even human they saw what happened, the Middle statue mode it's head, it's red eyes glows lager came out and the Butterfly was dead.
The door then closed, as Loki finally remembers, as he fully remembers why no one uses this place. "Will fuck". He looked at the statue in the middle. "We woke up the Architect".
Ritsuka looked as he spoke. "What?".
Loki's face was pale as he backed away slightly, his usual smug demeanor faltering for a moment. "The Architect," he muttered. "An ancient being, a god of creation and destruction, tasked with guarding the path to Asgard. This isn't just any statue—it's a prison, and waking it up... well, it's never been a good idea."
Ritsuka frowned, trying to piece together the pieces of this new revelation. "A god? But it looks... wrong. That thing doesn't look like a god."
BB, ever pragmatic, narrowed her eyes, looking at the ominous figure. "If it's a god of creation, it doesn't exactly look divine. It's more like a god designed to... erase things. I mean, did you see the way it killed that butterfly?"
Loki's eyes darted to the door, which was now sealed shut. "We're not getting through that door now, not with him awake. The Architect doesn't let anything pass unless it deems it worthy." His voice was tense, his usual cocky tone replaced by a rare seriousness. "And trust me, no one's ever been able to defeat it. Not gods, not mortals... and definitely not us."
Ritsuka, sensing the danger, stepped forward, his hand resting on the hilt of Albion. "So, what exactly is this thing? Some kind of prison guard for Asgard?"
Loki looked over at Ritsuka, his expression grim. "Yes and no. The Architect isn't just guarding a door. He's a construct designed by the older gods to maintain the balance between realms. But somewhere along the way, it got corrupted. Now, it views all life as a threat. It was sealed here to prevent it from going rogue. And now we've set it loose."
The group stood in tense silence, watching as the statue's glowing red eyes flickered with an almost sentient malice. Its presence in the room made the air thick with tension, as if the very space around them was pressing in.
Ritsuka exhaled slowly, trying to steady himself. "Great. So now we have to deal with a living nightmare before we can even think about reaching Asgard." His tone was almost playful, but the seriousness of the situation wasn't lost on anyone.
The Architect, sensing their attention, tilted its head slightly, and with an almost inaudible creak, the stone figure's wings—now revealed to be its arms—shifted. The room seemed to hum with an energy far beyond anything they had felt before. The door had already sealed, and the only way forward was through this massive, terrifying being.
"Does anyone have any ideas?" Ritsuka asked, looking to the group for answers.
Loki's eyes flashed, a grin forming on his face as he looked at the Architect. "Well, I might have a few tricks up my sleeve... but I can't promise they'll work on this thing."
Sigurd drew his sword, ready for whatever came next. "Let's see how tough it is, then."
Ritsuka nodded. "Alright, then. We fight it. We take it down, and we move forward. Stay sharp. This won't be easy."
With that, the Architect slowly stepped forward, its red eyes burning brighter as it spread its eight wings—each one darker than the last. It was ready to judge them, and the fight for their lives in Asgard had just begun.
