Fate: The Rise of Shikama Douji

Chapter 49: Time travel 3

Gilgamesh, the King of Heroes, with a frowning face and a voice full of grandeur, spoke his words: "You must know the identity of the being with whom you have merged." His eyes were fixed on Kiritsugu, as if he wanted to see the depths of his soul. Kiritsugu Emiya, with his usual coldness, replied, "I don't know why I was chosen, and I don't care. With this power, I will fulfill my own wishes." His voice was cold and emotionless, but inside him, a storm of determination and will raged.

Gilgamesh, the demigod king, stared at Kiritsugu with a look of disdain. " Mixed breed mongrel, lowly mortals like you are nothing but entertainment for that person. The power you cling to comes at a price far beyond your comprehension." His voice was filled with mockery, as if he saw Kiritsugu as nothing more than an insect.

Kiritsugu Emiya, with his usual coldness, replied, "I don't care even if I fall because of this power in the end. I will destroy anyone who harms my family." A red and golden light emanated from his body, an aura visible from kilometers away. The other masters and servants stared at him in shock. Kiritsugu Emiya's presence was inhuman, as if a divine spirit of high rank stood among them.

Gilgamesh and Kiritsugu Emiya locked eyes. Their auras of power clashed in the air, splitting the clouds in the sky, as if the ancient battles of the age of gods were being repeated in the modern era. Suddenly, a black knight appeared and charged at Artoria with a loud roar. Kiritsugu Emiya, with his usual coldness, stared at the black knight. In an instant, intricate magical circles formed in the sky, and luminous spears were launched at the black knight at supersonic speed. A massive explosion occurred, as if dozens of missiles had detonated at once. But that was not the end. Hundreds more magical circles formed, and all of them, without exception, struck the black knight. The black knight, who had seemed powerful just moments ago, was now reduced to a weak and helpless being.

Kiritsugu Emiya appeared in front of the black knight in an instant and plunged his hand into its chest. He pulled out the knight's spiritual core and crushed it. A servant like Berserker was as defenseless as a child before Kiritsugu Emiya. If the Knight of the Lake, Lancelot, had been present, he might have caused some trouble for Kiritsugu, but now Kiritsugu Emiya seemed unrivaled.

Artoria stared at Kiritsugu Emiya in shock. Who was this person who could so easily destroy a servant as powerful as Berserker? Kiritsugu Emiya once again stared at Gilgamesh, as if nothing had happened. He knew that today he would have to eliminate a few more servants. He didn't have much time left. His soul was cracking, and with each passing moment, his condition worsened. To eradicate all the evils of the world, he needed to be in the best possible state. He knew that he could only withstand eight percent of Shikama Douji's power. His body wasn't strong enough to handle more. If he borrowed more power than this, his death would be imminent.

Gilgamesh, with his usual arrogance, said, "It's like you have a death wish, I'll grant your wish. I'll show you the price of using power beyond that of mortals." Thousands of golden gates appeared around him. His high-ranking Noble Phantasm was ready to be unleashed. Gilgamesh wasn't so arrogant as to underestimate his teacher's vessel. No matter how weak this vessel might seem, it was still dangerous. He had been serious from the very beginning.

The Rider stared in shock at the multitude of Noble Phantasms and said, "Looks like we're in trouble, boy." Waver hid behind Rider's cloak in fear. The other masters and servants retreated. The power of the King of Heroes was no joke. Gilgamesh was a heroic spirit, unique and unparalleled, a demigod king who was the disciple of [the Divine Ancestor], the great creator. Kiritsugu Emiya stared indifferently at Gilgamesh. Although he had only become Shikama Douji's vessel a few hours ago, he wielded its power so skillfully that it seemed as if he had lived with it for years.

The battle between these two unparalleled powers shook the world. It was as if the age of gods had come alive once more, this time in the form of two beings—one representing the pride and glory of antiquity, and the other representing the relentless will and determination of a mortal.
