Chapter 5: Coming to Fuyuki
POV Artoria Pendragon
Irisviel and Saber arrived in the city of Fuyuki by airplane.
Irisviel smiled and said, "So this is the city where Kiritsugu was born. How is it, Saber? Did you enjoy the journey in the sky?"
Saber, dressed in a black men's suit, looked very attractive. As expected from the King of Knights, Artoria Pendragon, every outfit suited her perfectly.
Saber replied in her majestic voice, "It wasn't what I expected. It was nothing special."
Irisviel smiled in response and said, "As a legendary Servant, it's clear that flying in the sky is nothing unusual for you."
Saber calmly said, "That's not the point. Servants receive knowledge of the modern era when summoned to this world. If I wanted, I could pilot this airplane."
Irisviel, surprised, asked, "You can pilot it?"
With a smile, Saber replied, "My horsemanship skills allow me to command any beast or vehicle, except for divine and mythical creatures. Once I mount the saddle and take the reins, the rest of the skills take care of themselves."
Irisviel exclaimed in astonishment, "You mount the saddle and take the reins?"
Irisviel began to laugh.
Saber said, "Did I say something funny?"
Irisviel, still laughing, replied, "No."
As they walked through the airport, their beautiful faces attracted the attention of the people around them.
Irisviel said, "You're probably the only Servant who has physically boarded an airplane."
Saber responded, "I apologize for that. I wish I could transform into my astral form."
Irisviel quickly said, "No, that's not what I meant. Don't worry, I could never tire of seeing you."
Saber asked in surprise, "Irisviel, do I have something strange about me?"
Irisviel replied gently, "No, not at all."
Saber, in her usual tone, said, "When you smile like that, it means something. What is it? I want you to be honest with me."
Irisviel smiled and said, "It means being stuck in a physical form has its benefits. It has given me enjoyable hours to choose outfits for you."
Saber said, "Irisviel, this style of dressing is normal in this era."
Irisviel replied, "I chose your outfit myself. Don't you like it?"
Saber said, "No, it's fine. It's easy to walk in, and I'm used to wearing men's clothing."
They got into a car, and Irisviel looked out the windows.
Irisviel exclaimed with excitement, "What a lively place!"
Saber said, "Kiritsugu must have arrived, right?"
While looking outside, Irisviel replied, "Yes, he arrived 12 hours before us and will find us. So don't worry. For now, we need to keep an eye on the situation until the time comes for us to act. It's rare for me to come to Japan, so I want to enjoy it before the battle begins."
Saber quickly said, "That's dangerous. We need to secure our operational base. I want to see Kiritsugu and discuss our plans."
Irisviel said gently, "I guess you're right, but it's a shame. We've come all this way, and it's my first time here. It's the first time I'm stepping into the outside world."
Saber asked in surprise, "You've spent your entire life inside that castle?"
Irisviel replied softly, "I'm just a homunculus created for the Holy Grail War. It's not that I don't know; Kiritsugu has told me everything through films and pictures of the outside world, but this is the first time I'm seeing it with my own eyes. So please forgive me for being overly sentimental."
Saber said, "Please stop the car. Walking in this city is a new experience for me too."
Saber opened the car door and stepped out. She walked to Irisviel's side, opened the door, and placed her hand on her chest.
Saber said gently, "It is a knight's duty to accompany, and I will do my best."
She took off her gloves and extended her hand toward Irisviel.
Saber smiled and said, "Come with me."
Irisviel blushed and took Saber's hand. They began to stroll through the city, and time passed quickly. They headed toward the sea, where the beautiful moonlight reflected on the water, creating a stunning view.
Irisviel, smiling, said, "It's so beautiful, like the night sky is being mirrored."
Irisviel took off her shoes and stepped into the water, starting to dance. Saber watched her with a smile.
Irisviel looked at Saber and said, "It's wonderful to walk in a new city with a gentleman."
Saber replied, "I was a decent gentleman."
Irisviel smiled and said, "You were flawless. Today, you were an amazing knight."
Saber said, "Will you honor me, my princess?"
Irisviel, gazing at the sea, asked, "Saber, do you like the sea?"
Saber replied, "I guess I don't know. In my era and country, the sea was where my enemies came from. I hated it and never admired it once."
Irisviel said with surprise, "I'm sorry to hear that. You're just like me, a woman. Yet, when you were King Arthur, you couldn't enjoy anything."
Saber shook her head and said, "And you, Irisviel, wouldn't you prefer to wander the city with Kiritsugu instead of me?"
Irisviel said sadly, "I can't force him to do that. It would only upset him."
Saber sensed something and turned her head, taking Irisviel's hand.
Irisviel said, "A Servant."
Saber replied in her usual tone, "Yes, it's showing its presence. About a hundred meters from here, it seems to be inviting us over there."
Irisviel said, "How considerate! So it wants to choose the battlefield. Should we accept its proposal?"
Saber smiled excitedly and said, "Of course."
They headed toward the place where the Servant was.
