Fate: Hero Simulator

Chapter 56: Chapter 56: The Final Blow

[3rd POV]

The battle began again.

Even a powerful Magus could not physically withstand the blade of a holy sword, but that didn't mean Kyouya held the upper hand.

The reason Kyouya was willing to reconcile with Touko was that as long as she worked with him, it would still be a "sisters' fight," and Aoko wouldn't use her Fifth Magic.

Originally, he thought this would close the gap between them, but he was too naive.

Aoko may look young, but her combat experience was no less than his, not to mention she possessed the Fifth Magic.

That magic was so powerful that it could even let her travel through time, and it was something only she could do.

This meant that the person standing in front of him might very well be older than his own sister.

This is magic—amazing, isn't it?

Kyouya's technique is not as rigid as that of a mere puppet, but it was very hard to build up its power while defending against Aoko's attacks.

This was where Touko's assistance became crucial.

The Mystic Eyes of Enchantment once again demonstrated her power, applying intense pressure on Aoko.

It only caused a brief pause, which gave Kyouya the chance to get close.

The relentless barrage of attacks stopped for a moment, and in that instant, Kyouya charged forward.

In the dimly lit underground cavern, a protective barrier formed that allowed him to get closer to his target.

The magical bullets came again and relentlessly struck down Touko's barrier while Kyoya relied on his "Absolute Counter" to evade every attack as best he could.

Finally, he reached Aoko's side.

The sharp sword sliced through the air, and there was no holding back.

This battle was between life and death, and he aimed directly for the vital spots.

After facing such a threat, Aoko made her choice.

She threw a punch.

A punch full of magical energy came at him.

He could have dodged it, but he would lose the opportunity to get close if he did.

He chose not to evade.

The shield shattered under Aoko's punch, and the blow landed on his body. But at the same time, Kyouya's sword left a slash on her, and blood began to spill out.

"That was so dangerous, I almost died just now."

Aoko pressed a hand against her wound.

She wasn't saying this out of fear because there was no way she would die so easily with the Fifth Magic.

If she were killed, it wouldn't mean death, but it would mean defeat.

She used her attack as defense, blocking what should have been a fatal strike, but while she was busy defending herself from him, Touko was still hiding in the shadows.

A shadow figure rushed towards Aoko. It was a puppet that looked like a red-haired girl with a face similar to hers.

However, its limbs were larger than a spider's, making it look rather grotesque and disturbing.

"Touko, after all these years, your twisted tastes haven't changed one bit."

Because of the puppet's sneak attack, Aoko couldn't continue pressing the attack on Kyouya.

She had encountered puppets like this before, but this one was clearly more advanced than the last.

However, she quickly figured out that this puppet wasn't meant for direct combat.

It was designed for support.

The real threat was still the boy.

Kyouya charged again.

Although he was surprised by Aoko's combat experience if this was all she had…

"If this was all I had, Touko wouldn't have to go through all this trouble."

Magic circles curled around Aoko's arms, and for a moment, her hair seemed to be turning even more red.

She realized that this young man's combat experience far exceeded her expectations.

Even without the puppet's interference, close combat against him would be hard for her to gain the upper hand.

In that case, she would rely on strength to break through skill.

How much magical energy does a Magus truly possess?

It was a meaningless question.

Magecraft itself is a "miracle," and bringing about a miracle always requires a huge cost.

That cost was magical energy.

A magus's magic power is definitely no small thing.

Even without using True Magic, Aoko's magical power was still terrifying enough to completely vaporize him.

Of course, the puppet would not simply stand by and watch him die. It quickly sped up its attacks, but this finally angered Aoko.

"Trash should just stay quietly in the trash."

With a casual wave of her hand, a magic bullet struck the puppet.

Given the puppet's speed, avoiding the attack should have been easy, but this time, the magic bullet actually hit.

It hit?

Aoko had merely intended the shot as a distraction, but she didn't expect it to destroy the puppet.

However, a sense of unease slowly began to creep into her mind.

Would her sister really make such a basic mistake at a moment like this?

Of course not.

A figure emerged in the middle of the shattered remains of the puppet.

Aoko had been too focused on Kyouya, and by the time she noticed the figure, it was already too late.

"Aoko, do you remember this move?"

Touko had hidden herself inside the puppet's body and used the moment it was shattered to slip behind Aoko.

Such a dangerous move was completely unexpected from a puppet master, but only breaking the rules was the only way to win this battle.

Just like what Touko was about to do next—disrupt the magical circuits.

"You..."

How could Aoko not remember this move?

Back when she was still inexperienced, she had fallen victim to it due to carelessness, leaving her unable to use magic for a short period of time.

This is a very basic trick.

A skilled magus, when faced with such an attack, could even use the same method to counter the opponent.

Just as Aoko was about to do now.

Almost simultaneously, both sisters' magical circuits were disrupted to varying degrees, rendering their magic unusable for a short time.

At such a critical moment, being unable to use a spell had already determined the outcome of the fight.

"Aoko, this time, I win."

Touko, enduring intense pain, binds her sister with her own body, allowing Kyouya to deliver the fatal blow to their enemy.

To be continued...
