Chapter 78: Let's Play
When he first crossed over, Su Yan's mentality was like that of a typical traveler—he wanted it all.
After a long time, that mentality had smoothed out, and he had long given up on that idea.
Compared to Erza, Mira and Su Yan had been together the longest.
There is an old saying: love can grow over time. It's not nonsense, especially with a charming woman like Mira.
Looking back now, maybe many things were destined. When he first came to the guild, the first person to challenge him was Mira, and it was Mira who accompanied him during the S-Class assessment. She even spoke harshly, vowing to win next time.
"What are you laughing at?" Mira asked Su Yan.
Su Yan smiled and said, "It's nothing, I'm just remembering our past. The violent girl who used to declare herself the strongest at the start has become who she is now."
Mira blushed at Su Yan's words. That was her dark history—she'd been ignorant as a child, and now she felt ashamed thinking back on it.
Seeing Mira shy like that made Su Yan very happy.
Suddenly, several women, chattering and dressed elegantly, hurried over to ask Mira, "Is Loki here?"
"Loki?" Mira, manning the information desk, was like a receptionist, secretary, and waitress all in one. The guild's mages often asked her for help, and if someone wanted to issue a quest, they'd come to her.
"Loki is too much! He suddenly said last night that he'd break up with me."
"Ah, I'm also unwilling to accept it! Why would he suddenly say such a thing? Did someone he really loves appear?"
"Who is it? Is it someone in this guild?"
"I—I don't know!" Mira said, sweatdropping.
Lucy asked curiously, "What's going on with them?"
"They're the girls from our town. They all claim to be Loki's girlfriends," Levy explained.
"…Loki!" In Lucy's eyes, Loki was a total playboy. When she first came to the guild, she saw Loki flirting left and right. But ever since he found out she was a Celestial Spirit wizard, he always avoided her as if she were the plague. So in all this time she'd been in the guild…
"Loki…is it time?" Su Yan frowned. Loki joined Fairy Tail three years ago and was close friends with Gray.
He got along fine with Su Yan as well. Su Yan also knew Loki was actually a Celestial Spirit—Leo of the Zodiac. No matter how strong Su Yan was, Celestial Spirit matters weren't in his wheelhouse. Better to leave it to someone who understood them.
"Lucy!"
"Huh? What's up?" Lucy asked curiously, coming over to Su Yan.
"Please help me find Loki."
"Huh? I don't wanna. That guy is a playboy, definitely trying to juggle multiple girls at once. Besides, he always avoids me like I'm scary or something, so I'm not going to look for him."
Su Yan smiled. "He has his own difficulties. Please, help me out. Just consider it a quest from me. As a reward, I'll cover your rent for next month."
"Really!!!" Lucy's eyes lit up. She'd just done a mission with Natsu a few days ago, and while it was completed, most of the reward went to cover damages. She was currently worried about next month's rent. It was hard to find a place like hers in Magnolia at that low price.
Su Yan nodded. "Really."
"Awesome! That's settled then. Next month's rent is secured! Don't worry, mission accepted!"
Lucy turned around excitedly and ran off to find Loki.
*******
Early the next morning:
"Celestial Spirit?!" Natsu circled around Loki, examining him closely.
Loki scratched his head, embarrassed. "Well, yeah, that's right."
Last night, Lucy found Loki, who was about to disappear, and managed to save him. This morning, she brought him to the Fairy Tail guild, where he confessed his identity as a Celestial Spirit.
"I didn't notice at all! How did you figure it out, Su Yan?" Gray asked. Gray had spent the most time with Loki and never suspected a thing.
"Well, I sensed it through my experience and Haki. There's a slight difference between a Celestial Spirit and a human. At first, I only noticed that Loki wasn't human. After seeing Lucy's Celestial Spirits, I noticed a similar aura in Loki, so I guessed he might be a Celestial Spirit," Su Yan explained, half-truthfully.
"Doesn't look like a cow or a horse though," Natsu said, thinking of Lucy's Taurus and Sagittarius. In his mind, Celestial Spirits looked strange and fantastical.
Lucy said, "Loki is the Leo Celestial Spirit."
"Lion—!!"
"Happy" asked happily, "A lion is just a grown-up cat, right?"
"Yeah, that's right," Loki nodded with a smile.
Lucy complained, "That's not right at all!!"
Gray asked, "So what are your plans for the future? Will you stay in the guild?"
"I belong to Lucy now. I'll appear whenever she's in danger, as her handsome Prince Charming," Loki said. He wrapped an arm around Lucy and grinned. Before, he avoided her for fear his Celestial Spirit identity would be exposed, but now he didn't need to worry anymore.
"Hey hey!! Let me down!" Lucy protested.
Natsu sat in a chair, looking envious. "I'm so jealous! I want a Celestial Spirit too."
"What kind of Celestial Spirit do you want?" Happy asked.
"A dragon, of course! Since I learned Dragon Slayer Magic, it'd be a shame not to fight a real dragon!"
Lucy sweated and complained, "Celestial Spirits aren't for fighting your personal battles!!"
"That's right, Celestial Spirits are about love and trust…"
"You'd better go back." Lucy took out Leo's key, intending to close the gate and send Loki back.
"Wait a second," Loki said. He reached into his pocket and pulled out several slips of paper. "Here, take these."
"What's this?"
"These are vouchers for a holiday hotel I planned to take my girlfriend to. You've taken good care of me, so I'm giving them to you. Go have some fun."
