Chapter 59: Hit the Door
"That's it, we'll work here until the upstairs is fixed."
"Who has the mood to work!!"
"Natsu, calm down already," Makarov shouted, slapping Lucy's backside in passing.
"Why me?!" Lucy exclaimed, blushing in embarrassment.
Mira pouted, hands on her hips. "Master, if you keep this up, I'm going to get mad."
"Ah, wait! I can't hold it anymore!" The old man bolted for the toilet.
"Why are you so calm, old man?!" Natsu shouted, trembling with frustration.
Mira sighed. "Natsu, the master is frustrated too, but the Magic Council forbids armed conflict between guilds."
"They attacked us first!"
Mira shook her head. "That doesn't matter. Rules are rules."
Su Yan, who had been quiet, spoke up. "Mira, tell me where the Phantom Lord guild is."
"Su Yan?!" Gray and Lucy both turned to him in shock.
"Su Yan..." Mira hesitated, as though trying to persuade him.
Su Yan shook his head. "You know me, Mira. Nobody provokes Fairy Tail without paying the price. Phantom Lord must face the consequences."
"But what about the Magic Council?"
"If the Magic Council can't tell right from wrong, then they don't need to exist," Su Yan replied coldly.
He had little respect for the council. From his perspective, they were weak and undeserving of their role as arbiters of the wizarding world. Aside from their magical weapon, Etherion, the council had no real strength to back their authority.
While Su Yan usually avoided trouble with them, it wasn't out of fear—it was because most of his enemies never lasted long enough for the council to intervene.
If a conflict arose, he wouldn't hesitate to act. He had never been the kind to bow his head to anyone.
"Alright," Mira said with a nod. She knew Su Yan's character well enough to realize that trying to stop him would be pointless. In her heart, she felt the same anger he did.
"I'm going too!" Natsu declared, standing up.
"No, you're not," Su Yan replied firmly. "You're already in trouble. Reflect on your actions here."
"Why can you go, then?!"
"If you're stronger than me, you can come along."
"Damn it!"
Mira gave Su Yan the location of the Phantom Lord guild, and without another word, he turned and left.
Shortly after, Makarov returned.
"Huh? Where's that brat Su Yan?"
Mira responded, "He's gone to settle things with Phantom Lord."
Makarov didn't seem surprised. He had raised Su Yan and knew his temperament well.
"That boy's stubbornness hasn't changed one bit! But it's fine. Jose went too far this time—he needs a beating."
"But Master, didn't you say we can't fight them?"
Makarov snorted. "I also told you not to cause trouble. Did you listen? Besides, it's better if we avoid fighting directly."
He smirked. "But since Su Yan is already on his way, we might as well let him handle it. No need to worry about the Magic Council now."
The council acted as an arbitration body, but in the end, Phantom Lord would only receive a slap on the wrist while Fairy Tail would still lose face.
Makarov had been willing to endure the humiliation to protect his guild members, especially since no other S-rank mages were around. But now that Su Yan was back, he felt reassured.
Jose might be one of the Ten Wizard Saints, but Su Yan's strength was an enigma even to Makarov. If anyone could handle this, it was him.
"Alright, everyone! Cheer up! That brat Su Yan is out there teaching those Phantom idiots a lesson. If they dare provoke us again, hit them even harder!"
"Oooo!!!"
The guild members roared with renewed vigor. They all knew Su Yan wouldn't let Phantom Lord off lightly.
Oak City, Northeast Fiore
The Phantom Lord guild loomed large in the city.
"Hahaha! That was brilliant!"
"Fairy Tail's guild is in ruins!"
"They must be furious! Serves them right for crossing us!"
"Hahaha! They're probably hiding in a corner somewhere, trembling in fear!"
"Ahahahahaha—!"
Suddenly—"Boom!!!"
The guild's massive doors shattered as a giant fist of Haki slammed through them, sending several members flying.
"Ahhh!"
"Ugh!"
Screams filled the air as the shockwave blew apart part of the wall.
A voice echoed through the hall. "You dare laugh at Fairy Tail, and this is all you've got?"
The Phantom Lord members turned toward the entrance, their eyes falling on a lone figure standing amidst the rubble—a young man, calm and unyielding.
"Who are you? How dare you barge into Phantom Lord's guild?!" someone shouted.
The young man's gaze was icy as he replied.
"Fairy Tail—Su Yan."
