Fairy Tail Destiny

Chapter 3: Ch 3 : Guild

"I'm back!" Natsu shouted loudly as he kicked open the guild's large doors.

"I'm back too," Noel waved from behind him.

"Ah, welcome back!" The guild members greeted them warmly.

A monkey-like member grinned as he spotted Natsu. "Oh, Natsu, you stirred up another big mess, huh? You really messed up Hargeon—"

Boom!

Before the monkey-faced man could finish, Natsu kicked him flying. "You bastard! The intel on the Fire Dragon was fake!" Natsu roared angrily at the guy sprawled on the floor.

"How would I know? I was just sharing some rumors I heard!"

"What did you say? You wanna fight, you scumbag?" Natsu lunged at him, turning the guild into complete chaos.

"Pfft, don't mind them. They're always so full of energy." Noel smiled at the daily spectacle and explained it to a bewildered Lucy.

"What? Natsu's back?"

A dark-haired young man, wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and clearly having a chronic case of exhibitionism, walked toward Natsu. "Time to settle things for last time, Natsu."

"Gray, your clothes! Your clothes!" At the bar, a long-haired brunette named Cana, holding a wine glass, reminded him with exasperation.

"Ah, crap!"

"Ugh, this is why I say the men here have no taste—so annoying." Cana sighed, then picked up a barrel bigger than her entire body and started chugging.

"Cana, you're drinking way too much." Noel, seeing this familiar scene, couldn't help but try to remind her despite knowing it was futile.

"It's fine, it's fine," Cana waved dismissively and continued drinking without a care.

"In broad daylight, whining like kids. If you're a real man, settle things with your fists!" said Elfman, who wore a black coat, had spiky white hair, and a scar on his face.

His words were filled with fiery enthusiasm.

However, just a second later, Natsu and Gray each landed a punch, sending Elfman flying.

"You're in the way!" Natsu and Gray shouted in unison.

"So annoying, you're too loud." Loki, with a playboy-like demeanor and two girls in his arms, put on a troubled expression and covered his face.

However, just as he finished speaking, a flying plate hit him square on the head.

Veins popping in irritation, Loki stood up and turned to the two girls. "I'm joining in too, for your sake."

"Good luck!" the girls cheered him on.

"Is there not a single normal person here?" Lucy sighed helplessly.

Noel shrugged, indicating he had no control over the situation.

"Ah, Noel, you're back. Is this a newcomer?" A gentle voice reached Noel's ears.

He turned to see Mirajane, wearing a stunning red evening gown, carrying a tray, and smiling warmly at him.

"Yeah, Mira. This is the newcomer, Lucy."

"It's really her! Mirajane herself!" Lucy's eyes sparkled like stars as she gazed at Mira.

"Hello, Lucy." Mira greeted Lucy with a warm smile. "By the way, is it really okay not to stop them?" Lucy asked, glancing at the now completely chaotic guild.

Mira smiled gently. "It's fine. This happens all the time."

Suddenly, a shadow came hurtling straight toward them.

"Watch out!" Noel instinctively wrapped his arms around Mira and leaped backward, narrowly dodging the incoming figure.

With a loud crash, the shadow hit the wall and passed out.

"Turns out it was Elfman," Noel remarked, looking at the unconscious Elfman slumped against the wall.

"Noel..." Mira's soft voice called from his arms. Noel then realized he was still holding Mira.

"Ah, sorry." He gently released her.

"It's... nothing," Mira said, but a fleeting hint of sadness flashed across her face before she quickly replaced it with a graceful smile.

However, that brief expression didn't escape Noel's notice.

His hand unconsciously touched his right eye. (I'm sorry, Mira... but I can't... I can't make any promises to you right now.) The sorrow in his heart was fleeting, but Noel could only pretend not to have seen Mira's expression, even though it was a hurtful choice for both of them.

"Cut it out, you idiots!"

As Noel remained silent, a booming voice suddenly silenced the entire guild.

A massive black shadow appeared.

"Oh my, the Guild Master is here." Mira seized the opportunity to change the subject, looking at the shadow.

"Guild Master?" Lucy asked in surprise as she stared at the enormous figure.

"Hahaha! They're all scared now. That means I win this round!" Natsu laughed arrogantly, ignoring the tense atmosphere.

Naturally, his cocky behavior was rewarded with Makarov stomping him flat under his foot.

After stopping the brawl among the guild troublemakers, Makarov turned his attention to Lucy, who was standing beside Noel.

"Hmm? Are you a newcomer?" Makarov asked, looking at Lucy.

"Y-Yes," Lucy stammered, intimidated by Makarov's imposing entrance.

Upon hearing her confirmation, Makarov's massive body rapidly shrank until he was a tiny elderly man.

"Nice to meet you!" he greeted cheerfully, raising his hand in a friendly wave toward Lucy.

"So small... And this is the Guild Master?"

"That's right, this is the Guild Master of Fairy Tail, Master Makarov," Mira explained to Lucy.

Makarov turned around and leapt stylishly to the second floor—though, of course, it would have been much cooler if it hadn't ended with him hitting the back of his head on the railing.

"Ahem." Makarov cleared his throat as if nothing had happened, masking his embarrassment.

Then, in a stern tone, he said, "You've caused trouble again, haven't you!"

From behind his back, he pulled out a thick stack of papers.

"Look at this—complaints from the Council! So many of them! All of them are complaints about you lot! I get scolded by the Councilors constantly because of you!" Makarov's forehead bulged with veins, and his entire body trembled, seemingly reliving the painful memories of being reprimanded by the Magic Council.

"...." Everyone wisely remained silent.

"But," Makarov suddenly shifted his tone, flames igniting in his hand as he held the stack of papers, "the Council is worse than crap!"

With that, he tossed the burning papers down.

Below, Natsu jumped up and snatched the flaming papers out of the air with his mouth.

"Listen! Extraordinary power is born from ordinary circumstances. Magic is not some miraculous force! It is the combination of the energy flowing within us and the energy flowing in nature, harmonized through resonance. That is what manifests magic before our eyes. It requires mental focus and concentration—or rather, putting your entire soul into it. That is what magic is! If you care too much about the complaints of those idiots in the Council, you'll never improve your magic. Don't fear those fools! Walk the path you believe in! That is what it means to be a mage of Fairy Tail!"

As Makarov finished speaking, he raised his right hand, pointing his index finger upward to form an "L," symbolizing everlasting protection.

His words resonated deeply with the guild members, who all cheered loudly and raised their right hands, mirroring Makarov's gesture with the same "L" symbol.
