 Commentary on Chapter 6. The Plan.

- Rick, Eros, Rani, take care of yourselves," Lily said with tears in her eyes.

- Of course we'll survive and come back," Rick replied confidently, "Have I ever lied to you?

- I will pray for you, please come back alive, - closed the trunk of the tree and only three people remained in the clearing.

- What are the chances of us winning? - Eros asked, moving away from the tree, "I don't know the exact strength level of these five.

- Zero," Rani replied in a dejected voice.

- Just as I thought," the titan said with a heavy sigh, "Then we have only one chance to win.

- М?

- It's to take them out one by one.

- One at a time, but how?

- Play on their self-confidence!

- Self-confidence?

- Yes," Eros nodded, looking at both of them, "They'll probably think I'm the most dangerous opponent, after what I've shown and the fact that I could kill a master, and you're just small fry.

- Um, we're not weak.

- You're weak, and I'm weak, and after being wounded, I'll be worse than you.

- And what do you mean, "play on their self-confidence"? - Rani asked.

- I think they'll send four mages against me at once, and you'll be attacked by the last one, and you'll have to defeat him by any means necessary.

- Yes, and I know it's going to be very hard for you, but there's no other choice," he said with a sigh, "If we attack together, we'll just lose quickly, and right now time and territory are playing in our favour. We still have at least an hour or two to prepare for their arrival.

- You're right," Rani nodded, "Then let's get started.

An hour and a half later, they were already in full battle readiness. Eros sat leaning against a tree with his eyes closed, preparing for perhaps his last battle. He was restoring the lost magic power, which had been automatically spent during the journey, increasing regeneration. Rani and Rick, looked around, waiting for an unexpected attack....

Five people appeared in front of them, one woman and four men, wearing similar dark blue robes with a red pattern running along the chest.

- Oh, where are the children? - asked the woman, with long blue hair, plump lips and a neat little nose. She could only be described by one word "beautiful", especially her long legs and large breasts, - Tell your big sister and then she will kill you quickly, and if you lie, your sister will take offence at you.

- Aunty, we don't know where they are," Rick replied with a shrug.

- Auntie?! WHERE DID YOU SEE AN AUNT, YOU LITTLE RASCAL! - she exclaimed angrily, taking a step forward, but she was stopped by a man standing in front of her, with short grey hair and a pale complexion.

- Calm down Melinda, they're just trying to piss you off," he said in an emotionless voice.

- But... He dared to call me Auntie! DID YOU HEAR THAT?!

- You've come a long way, but that's the end of your escape and you have only two choices: to return to the guild quietly or to die here, and we'll find the rest of the children and kill them.

- We'll take the third.

- Third?

- Yes," Eros smirked, looking at Rick and Rani, "We'll kill you and leave together.

- If that's the case, then you and I have nothing more to talk about.

- That's right.

- Melinda, Wolf, kill those two and leave the red haired one to us.

"So they won't underestimate us, well, that's sad."- Eros thought, and looked at his partners, "Plan number two.

- Yes," both nodded gravely.

- Try to deal with them quickly, I can't beat three of them at once.

- Okay, the main thing is to survive, we'll try to come back very quickly! - Rani said in a serious voice.

The two turned their backs to each other and ran in different directions, while releasing fireballs, setting the forest on fire.

- THE LITTLE ONE WITH THE LONG TONGUE IS MINE! - The woman exclaimed angrily, and a green magic circle lit up under her feet and she disappeared, leaving only small swirls of air where she had stood before.

- As you wish," came a bass voice from a two metre tall man with dark short hair, eyes covered and a scar on his chin. A brown magic circle appeared beneath him and he plunged into the ground.

"An earth and wind mage! There are no worse opponents for a fire mage, and the prepared traps will be of little use against them."- Eros thought anxiously, "Well, now we have to think about our own skin, not other people's."- he shifted his gaze to the remaining three mages.

- Say, did you really kill the master? - A guy in his twenties, with bright blond hair and a grin to his ears, asked from behind.

- Yeah, I killed that thing.

- Wow! That's awesome! - He exclaimed happily, "And the dagger, where is it? I searched the whole guild and all the people, but I didn't find it.

- I have it," and in confirmation, he pulled it out of his pocket.

- Thank God you have it," the mage said with relief, "Give it to me.

- Why don't you go somewhere else? - Eros snorted, pointing his index finger at him.

The mage sharply moved away, and the tree behind him got a ten centimetre hole.

- Oooh, that's your invisible bullet, that's an interesting spell," the pale-faced mage nodded thoughtfully, "And it's true, as Nori said, you should be wary of this attack, or you'll be dead before you know it.

- We agreed you wouldn't hurt us.

- You made a deal with that fool," he said, snickering, "Shadow Magic: Spikes!

Eros rolled sharply and dodged the shadow spikes that came out from under his feet.

- Not a bad reaction.

- It's not about reactions, it's about the fact that you're yelling loudly, and by the name alone, you can tell what your spell is," the titan said in a voice full of contempt, "Be smarter than that, you should learn not to yell the name of your spells, but to perform them silently," Eros fired another bullet, but the enemies had no trouble dodging it.

- The kid's right! - The third one with short green hair, brown eyes and a sword hanging behind his back laughed, "Your techniques are really very predictable, not like mine.

- Whose side are you on anyway?!

- Hey, I was just agreeing with what he said, and you should learn from him.

- YOU! How dare you put me on the same level as that little thing!?! - I'll show you what it means to be a B-rank mage! Shadow Magic: Shadow Tentacles!

From every shadow around Eros, dark tentacles as thick as a grown man's arm began to emerge and quickly approached him. The Titan tried to dodge them all, but there were too many shadows, and after a few seconds, he was cornered. He drew his dagger and slashed sharply at one of the approaching tentacles. What happened next made him freeze. For all the tentacles around him instantly disappeared.

- Darkey, answer us a question," the pale-faced man's voice was serious and angry at the same time, "What is this dagger? You wanted it more than anyone, and if you try to lie to us, you won't get away unharmed!

- Um..." the jolly man shook with fear, "I... I'll tell you everything, Mr Juro, but let's finish our business here first.

- Hmm..." the pale-faced man looked at him for a moment, "Fine, but if you try to lie or run away, I won't recognise that we are in the same guild and I'll kill you immediately.

Eros himself felt a sense of shock, because he immediately realised what kind of ability this dagger had. As soon as the spell was broken, he felt a rush of Magic Power fill his reserve to the brim.

"Damn! That bastard Karl had such a treasure in his hands and he didn't use it for its intended purpose!"- Eros exclaimed with shock in his mind, "A dagger that can dispel at least B-rank magic while absorbing the magic power used to cast the spell and transferring it to the wielder.

- Don't think because you own a toy like that you can beat us.

- I didn't think so, I know it's not enough, but," Eros smirked, showing his tongue to the three of them and ran in the opposite direction, it was already quite dangerous where they were standing, as the forest was already burning for at least a kilometre. But he had nothing to worry about, because the fire was burning in the opposite direction from where the children were hiding.

- Gone... - summed up the jolly man.

- And what are you standing there, let's go after him! - shouted the third member of the group.

- We have to catch him and kill him by any means necessary," Juro said with a frown, jumping on one of the burning trees and jumping quickly from one to another, followed by the man with green hair. Only the guy using shadows remained standing there.

"I'll kill you! Because of this little thing, everyone found out about the dagger's ability, and I tried so hard to hide it from everyone, even from the master who thought it was just an ordinary dagger until the end! I must get it by any means necessary before anyone finds out about its latest ability!"- An oppressive darkness enveloped the entire clearing, the shadows seemed to come alive, they clothed and engulfed him.
