The next day.
The guild doors opened abruptly and Gildarts and Kana walked into the hall. The girl looked down at the floor in embarrassment, holding the one by the hand, the mage himself with a very serious face, looked around the hall.
- Listen up, people! - I'm Kana's daddy," Gildarts exclaimed with a smile halfway down his face and a blush on his cheeks, lifting the completely red girl in his arms.
- I'm so happy!
- Let me go," Kana covered her embarrassed face with her palms, "Everyone's watching....
- Let everyone look and know that I have such a beautiful daughter!
- Daddy.
The mages in the guild looked at this scene with smiles, others were laughing and one of them was Makarov himself, who was sitting at the bar with a mug of beer.
Eros himself was in the library drawing runes as usual. Training for the coming week had also been cancelled. Gildarts was going to spend all that time with Kana and the titan was only too happy for them both.
At a nearby table sat a group of children who were eagerly learning to do magic, with Lily and Rick acting as teachers, talking about magic and showing them how to do it.
Rani, on the other hand, had taken up residence in the guild kitchen, where he worked part-time in the evenings helping the guild cook and learning from him. During the day, both Rani and Rik learnt fire magic from Makao, and he couldn't be happier with such good students. He was especially happy to see Rick's strength growing by leaps and bounds. After all, he was already quite a strong B-rank mage, and his flame, bright orange in colour, stood out. It was impossible to extinguish it, no matter what Makarov tried to do, he could not extinguish the boy's flame, and even on the contrary, Rick's flame quickly absorbed the flame of Makarov and everything that was near. Only Makarov could extinguish it. He also demanded that they train away from the guild and away from the city in order not to accidentally burn down the city.

Another month passed at a steady pace, which Eros spent almost entirely on runes, trying to break through to the rank of "apprentice", as well as continuing his body training, already under the new regime.
Three weeks ago.
- Master, I've finished the first two stages, let's start the third stage already! - Eros was eagerly looking at Gildarts figure, he wanted to memorise all the spells that the senior mage would show him. After all, the titan was sorely lacking in attacking skills, both in close combat and ranged.
- I'll teach you everything I know, but most of them are very expensive in magic.
- But I have plenty of magic....
- Yes, but it's not enough to use my spells a couple of times per battle.
- Erm...
Eros looked at the mage with slight disappointment.
- Don't look at me like that," Gildarts smirked, "I'll show you how to use destruction magic to strengthen your body, as well as a couple of spells. And to be honest, I rarely try to use my magic in combat.
- Why? - Eros asked in surprise, "With destruction magic, you can easily destroy any enemy.
- That's the point," the mage said frustratedly, turning to a large boulder and touching it... A white light filled the glade and faded away after a moment, "So I only use it when I'm facing a strong enough opponent," the place where the stone used to be was empty, "I'm a pacifist by nature, I don't want to kill people if they don't deserve it, that's why I strengthened my body so much.
- I understand, then let's get started.
The senior mage nodded contentedly.
- Good, but first, let's talk about Destruction Magic," he sat down on the grass and made an inviting gesture, Eros nodded and sat down next to him, "You probably think that this magic can only be used to destroy, don't you?
- Not only that, it can be used for defence as well.
- Yes, but it has many more uses than you think....
The first day was mostly devoted to just one theory, which surprised Eros, because he had always thought Gildarts was a man of action, who disliked this kind of thing the most. But the titan was very much mistaken, the lecture given by the mage was very interesting, Eros himself did not notice how quickly the day passed.
The second day, as well as the following week, was devoted to the concentration of magic. That is, to learn how to concentrate magic in one of the limbs in time for a powerful blow and quickly move it to another limb for defence or for a second blow. The power of this blow was terrifying, because if Eros had hit a normal man without using his powers, he could have died inadvertently, but with the help of magic, he would not have been left with a wet spot.
For the rest of the fortnight, he only had time to learn one spell. This is "Separation", with the help of it, you can block attacking spells, as well as simultaneously attack, dividing the enemy literally into parts.
Eros himself was very surprised to think that Gildarts was going to teach him a spell that could easily dismember a man. But after the senior mage's explanation, the titan realised his mistake. Yes, the spell could split a man into parts, creating smaller copies of the enemy, inferior in strength to the original by as much as he was divided.Eros mostly trained alone, as Gildarts tried to spend as much time with his daughter as possible before going on a mission, because he still had a debt to pay, and it was dangerous to take a child with him on an S-rank mission. So the older mage only spent a couple of hours with Eros, pointing out mistakes, giving advice and answering questions. So until lunchtime, and after that he would leave and the titan would go hunting to earn money, and in the evening to the guild.

A week later, in the evening as Eros was walking towards the guild building, on the way he met Gildarts holding a sleeping Cana in his arms.
- Oh, Eros, just the person I was looking for," the older mage beckoned to him and pulled out a simple looking leaflet from under his cloak and handed it to him, "I'll be waiting for you at the Magnolia gate tomorrow morning, don't be late," and walked on, while Eros stared at the leaflet like a mesmerised man.
"At last!"- exclaimed the titan in his mind and ran home at full speed, to prepare for the journey ahead...

Makarov was panting, Makarov was shouting, Makarov was furious at Gildarts decision to take a child on such a task, even though he was comparable to an A-rang mage. The others tried to keep a low profile so that the old man's anger would not spread to them, and Eros and Gildarts quietly slipped out of the gate while Makarov turned away, having said goodbye to the others beforehand. For they both knew that the old man would worry too much and would not give goodbye.
Half an hour later, they were well away from Magnolia and could breathe a sigh of relief. Looking at each other, and realising the comical nature of the situation, they laughed out loud.
- Teacher.
- М?
- I have a question about the assignment," Eros pulled out a flyer and handed it to Gildarts, "Investigating missing persons doesn't seem like an S-rank assignment.
- I thought so too and contacted the customer," he folded the flyer in two and put it away, "But there is no mistake.
- You chose this assignment on purpose, didn't you? - He narrowed his gaze and looked into Gildarts' eyes.
He shrugged his shoulders, not even embarrassed.
- Did I promise to take you on an S-rank mission? - Without waiting for an answer, he continued, "This is it, the S-rank mission," the mage said with a sneer.
- Okay, my mistake for not specifying the mission," Eros sighed, looking at the beauty of nature.
- Don't take offence, kid," Gildarts laughed, patting the titan on the head, "In a couple of years you'll be going on them alone or in the company of some beautiful lady," he winked at Eros, making him smile.
- I'd rather stay in Magnolia, at least I'd be able to make the most of my time.
- I don't think it would be boring.
- What makes you think that?
- Intuition," Gildarts said with a grin, quickening his pace slightly.

Half a day later, they reached their destination.
Shirotsumi was a small town located north of Magnolia, in a mountainous area. It could hardly be called a city, more like a large village compared to Magnolia. The buildings were two stories at most, looking rather grey.
Eros and Gildarts were sitting in a small tavern, waiting for a customer.
- And where is he? - Sipping his juice, the titan said unhappily, "He set the time and he's late.
At that moment a delegation of five old men entered the tavern. They wore similar clothes in grey tones with an emblem in the form of the letter "S".
- Here he is, - the old men approached their table, the oldest of them, looking 55-60 years old, pushed back a chair and sat down opposite the mages, - Hello Elder.
- And to you gentlemen mages, - a waitress came to the table and put a cup of tea in front of the old man.
- We are the mages of the Fairy Tail, - Gildarts pulled back his cloak slightly and showed the black mark on the left side of his chest, as well as pulled out a leaflet.
- We have already received notice, and we are pleased that such a powerful mage has decided to take on this task.
- Could you tell us in detail what the point is? - Gildarts pointed his finger at the flyer, -There's hardly any information about the mission.
The old men looked at each other and with a heavy sigh, the elder took out a thick stack of leaflets and handed them to the mages. The eldest mage began to go through them quickly and stopped at the fifteenth one, putting it back. His gaze was very heavy.
- These are all children, from twelve to seventeen years old, and all of them have been missing for five months, - all the tavern visitors looked at Gildarts and Eros without taking their eyes off, trying to listen to every word, - We beg you! Find them, find our children, - the old man was crying, as well as others standing behind him, - We will give any money, just find them.
- Five months," an oppressive silence fell over the entire tavern, "Why are you only now coming forward with this? - Eros immediately realised from Gildarts calm voice that he was furious, -This assignment is only two months old! Why didn't you handle it sooner?! - The table at which they were sitting was shattered by the elder mage's blow.
The old men trembled, but not from fear, but from shame.
- We couldn't," the old man looked down at the floor, "the Duke forbade it, fearing that if it got out, he might be stripped of his title and land.
- And you obeyed him so easily? - Eros, who had been silent until then, raised his voice, - Some pompous turkey?!- We couldn't disobey, because he took our families hostage, and only three months later, Duke Everly allowed us to ask for help, but only from the guilds, - the old man quickly caught his breath and continued, - Before you already came mages from other guilds, but... They disappeared the next day.
- I see, - Gildarts calmed down and looked at the old men again, - Has anyone seen this kidnapper, it would help us a lot to understand who or what it is?
At that moment, a glass fell from one of the tables, shattering into dozens of shards. Turning round at the sound, both mages saw a woman of age, wearing mourning clothes hiding everything but her face and hands.
- A demon..." the woman whispered, animal terror burning in her eyes, "It was a demon...!
