Enjoy reading!
Eros looked fearfully into the thicket of the forest. From behind the trees, a four metre tall creature slowly emerged, covered in bruises and wounds...
"Macacus!"- Eros exclaimed joyfully in his mind, "I'll live!"
The Vulcan slowly walked over to the boy's body and lifted him into his arms.
- The cub is alive," the creature said with relief, "We need to leave, it's dangerous here.
Gathering all the strength left in his body, Eros was able to get out only one word.
- The city...
- Good, - he slowly began to make his way through the thick thicket....
In an hour, they would approach the edge of the forest.
- City... - Vulcan looked at Eros, but he was already asleep and could not answer. The creature did not understand what to do, because if he left the cub here, it could be mauled by creatures nearby, and if he took it to the city, they would not listen to him, but would kill him immediately.
At that moment, he heard the leaves rustling and five mages came into the clearing.
- A monster," the mage girl said briefly, pointing her staff at Vulcan, but the next moment, her eyes filled with shock, "He's got a baby in his hand!
- Damn monster! You're going to kidnap a child and eat it?!
- No, I'm a friend... - Vulcan tried to justify himself, but the mages didn't listen to him and quickly surrounded him. He might have been able to escape before, but now he was badly wounded, and the cub in his arms was in a much worse condition. It was very dangerous to make any sudden movements with it in his hand.
- Of course, mate! That's how we believed you! - hummed one of them, aiming his staff at the monster.
- Let's kill it, try not to hit the child!
The five of them nodded at the same time, and as they were about to attack, a powerful pressure descended on the clearing and they all lost consciousness at the same time. Only the monster remained on his feet, shaking, but because of the body of Eros, could not escape.
Out of the bushes came an old man of short stature, with grey hair growing only from the outer edges of his head and a large moustache. He was dressed in orange trousers and a jumper, and on his head he wore a blue and orange striped cap.
Makarov at that moment had a strong sense of deja vu.
- How could this happen, - whispered the shocked old man, seeing the crumpled condition of the boy, as well as the claw marks on his chest, but only by their trail alone, he immediately understood what kind of monster it was, - What was such a creature doing on the outskirts of the forest?
Vulcan couldn't move from the feeling of fear that gripped him, for he had met another human monster.
- Thank you for bringing him out of the forest, I'll take care of him from here," Makarov said with a sigh, taking Eros' body from Vulcan's hands before he could even notice.
The creature had no choice but to nod and walk off into the forest.
- Foolish child...

As soon as Eros came to his senses, he felt a sharp pain in his chest.
- Don't move," Poliushka's voice was stern, as she sat on a chair reading a book, "Your ribs are broken, so you won't be able to get up for at least two months.
- That's a long time..." Eros said with a sigh, "And you can't speed it up, I just can't lie down for that long....
- No!
- Eh...
- Don't sigh at me here," the old woman said angrily, "You almost died, and if your claws had gone a couple of centimetres deeper, you wouldn't be lying here.
- I know.
- Well, you just sit tight and get better.
- Yes, Auntie.
- Who are you calling auntie?!
A week later, Gildarts came back from his mission with two black eyes.
- Ё!
- Hello teacher, - seeing the smirking face of the mage, Eros wanted to punch him hard, he wished he could move now, - How was the assignment?
- It's fine, I just got back and thought I'd stop by and see you," he sighed and sat down on the chair, "How are your wounds? - Gildarts asked in a more serious voice.
- I'm better now, Polushka said that I'll be out for two months.
- I see.
- Master, - Eros began in a serious voice, - Have you found out the reason why this creature appeared at the edge of the eastern forest?
After the question, Gildarts hovered, then looked away slightly embarrassed.
- 'It's... It's from the Dark Forest.
- Huh? What's that?
- Well... It's my fault.
In the next instant, a terrible hunch came into Eros's mind, which he immediately wanted to confirm.
- Wasn't it because half of the forest was destroyed?
- That's right, all the creatures scattered around, most of them moved to the Eastern Forest, but don't worry, eighty percent of them have already been destroyed by the monsters from the Eastern Forest.
- I see," Eros nodded thoughtfully, "The monsters from the Dark Forest entered the territory of the monsters from the Eastern Forest and they didn't tolerate it.
- Yes," Gildarts replied with a heavy sigh, "Don't worry, that bear was just an isolated incident, it wandered into that place after its colony was massacred.
- So there are monsters of monsters in the Eastern Woods.
- They're everywhere, but they won't attack civilians.
- Why not? - Titan asked in surprise.
- The "Non-Aggression Pact" signed between the Beast King of the Eastern Forest and the King of Fiore in 569.
- This is the first time I've heard of such a thing," Eros said in shock.
- It's normal, because only the strongest of the world know about this treaty, - Gildarts smiled slightly, - And only in Era there is data about it, but only a few people can get access to it, this list includes the God-elected, the Magical Council, the heads of guilds that have proved their loyalty, the Royal Family, as well as powerful people who are not included in any of the above lists.
- I don't see why this can't be told to everyone, but okay, what's the point of this treaty?
- Basically, it's a ban on monsters above A-rank from leaving the Eastern Forest, but if any mage enters the Eastern Forest, that rule no longer applies.
- So if I just enter the forest, I can be attacked by a monster of A-rank or higher at any time? - Eros narrowed his gaze and looked at Gildarts, who was slightly taken aback by this look, ''You still want to kill me, right 'Master'?
After realising what he had said, Gildarts face turned red with anger.
- What the hell are you talking about! - Eros was surprised to see the reaction of the mage, he was just trying to make a little joke, but apparently he made it worse.
Gildarts at the moment felt a strong sense of guilt over everything that had happened. If he had restrained himself from destroying the forest, this situation would not have happened and his apprentice would not be in such a serious condition.
In fact, Gildarts had returned to the guild a week ago, a day late. And when he learnt about what had happened, he first of all ran to Makarov to find out about the boy's condition, but was beaten by him, and then to Polushka, where he got two black eyes of his own. After the mage learnt that Eros was alive but in a serious condition, he personally went through the whole forest and destroyed all the monsters from the Dark Forest. Even the self-appointed Beast King of the Eastern Forest didn't bother the enraged mage and for the time being, all monsters A-rank and above were summoned to the centre of the Eastern Forest.- 'I'm sorry, I only meant to make a joke...' Eros said guiltily.
- I'm sorry too, I haven't had much sleep in the last few days, so I'm not myself," Gildarts said, trying to laugh as usual, "As for the monsters, they won't attack unless you enter their territory, so don't worry about it.
Seeing the battered state of the always cheerful mage and realising that the man had been very worried about him all these days, he felt a warmth in his chest.
- Okay, I'm tired, I'm going to rest a bit, and you get better, - he stood up from the chair and walked towards the exit.
- Thank you, teacher.
- Let's continue in two months," Gildarts left the room with a wave of his hand.
"Still, I got the best teacher I could find and I have to fulfil his expectations, which means I can't be idle, even now..."- Covering his eyes, Eros began to spread the magical power throughout his body and release it from all his pores, at the same time absorbing the ether that was in the air.
In the next moment, Eros' eyes opened abruptly and there was only shock in them.
"My supply of magic has become at least twice as much, what the hell!"- After calming down, he began to remember what had happened during those days that made this indicator jump so much, - "Stop! I remember that in some book, there was a theory that magic power is also affected by the physical state of the body. That is, if a magician is very strong physically, but has little magic, then the vessel, which is the storage of ether in a person, becomes larger, to become comparable in level with him. That means that if I am now physically equal to a B-rang mage, then I should have about the same amount of magic to be comparable to B-rang... Shit! How much knowledge I lack, I should have studied more books on the subject!"- Eros sighed and closed his eyes again, "Okay, I'll deal with it when I'm healed, but for now I'll continue with the same plan..."
As the titan plunged into his training, a satisfied Gildarts watched him through the crack in the door.
- Like teacher, like student," a disgruntled Polushka grumbled with a sigh, "Even in such a terrible state, he's trying to get stronger.
- Hey, we're completely different.
- I couldn't agree more, he's smarter than some," she said with a mocking look at Gildarts, laughing a little, "Remember how many times a month you came to me? Like five or...
- Six times at most, and that was only in the first year," the mage muttered grudgingly, "But this boy is terribly talented.
- You're right, I'm sure he'll surpass you before you know it.
- That's true, but I'll be happy if that happens.
