Chapter 2: Chapter Two:

The echoes of the battle still hung in the air as the room fell silent. Shadows of the monstrous creature lingered on the walls, dissipating into nothingness, leaving a faint chill behind. Eleven stood in the center of the chamber, her chest heaving, her legs trembling beneath her. Her nose bled freely now, and her head pounded like a drum. But she didn't flinch. She stared at the place where the tear had been, her eyes unfocused, as if the void was still staring back at her.

"Not bad, kid," Strange muttered, brushing dust off his crimson cloak. "But next time, maybe wait for backup before throwing yourself at a dimensional anomaly."

"She didn't have a choice," Wanda cut in, her tone sharper than usual. Her crimson aura flickered faintly around her hands, but her focus remained on Eleven. "That thing was after her. She drew it here. It's connected to her—she feels it, don't you?"

Eleven barely nodded, her gaze still locked on the floor. She didn't understand what was happening, but every instinct told her that Wanda was right. The creature, the tear—it wasn't a coincidence. It had followed her. And it wasn't the first time.

"Can someone explain what's going on?" Eleven finally croaked, her voice hoarse. She looked up, her eyes darting between Strange and Wanda. "What are these things? Why are they coming after me?"

Strange exchanged a glance with Wanda, his brow furrowing. "It's not that simple," he said after a pause. "These 'things,' as you call them, aren't from here. They're fragments of another reality—a place where the laws of nature work differently. You've encountered them before, haven't you?"

Eleven's stomach churned. Images of the Upside Down flashed in her mind: the endless darkness, the pulsing red veins, the monsters that lurked in the shadows. She nodded slowly.

"They're not just fragments," Wanda interjected, stepping closer to Eleven. "They're hunting you. You feel it, don't you? Like they're drawn to you."

Eleven's fists clenched. "I don't know why."

"We do," Strange said, his tone heavy with meaning. He gestured toward the glowing sigils still spinning in the air. "Whatever reality you came from, it's bleeding into this one. And you're the bridge."

The words hit Eleven like a physical blow. She staggered backward, her mind reeling. The bridge. That was all she had ever been, wasn't it? To Brenner, to the lab, to the Upside Down. She had always been the tool, the connection, the thing they used to get to the other side.

"No," she whispered, shaking her head. "No, I didn't ask for this. I didn't—"

"We know," Wanda said, her voice softening. She placed a hand on Eleven's shoulder, her touch gentle but firm. "No one's blaming you. But if we're going to stop this, we need your help."

Eleven looked up at her, searching her face for signs of deception. But all she saw was understanding—and something else. Pain. Wanda knew what it was like to be used. To be the weapon.

Strange cleared his throat, breaking the moment. "As touching as this is, we have bigger problems. That tear wasn't natural—it was forced open. Something, or someone, is pulling these things into our world. And I'd bet my cloak they're after her."

Eleven's heart sank. "Who?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Strange's expression darkened. "We have a few suspects. But the likeliest culprit…" He hesitated, then sighed. "Kang the Conqueror."

Eleven frowned. The name meant nothing to her. Wanda, however, stiffened.

"Kang?" she repeated, her eyes narrowing. "Why would he care about her?"

Strange shrugged. "The same reason he cares about everything: power. If Eleven is the bridge between worlds, Kang will want to control her. Use her to rewrite the fabric of reality itself."

Eleven's breath caught. Power. Control. The same words, the same promises she'd heard all her life. She thought she had escaped it. She thought she was free. But the cycle had found her again.

"We don't have much time," Strange continued, his tone brisk. "If Kang is involved, he'll already be moving to secure her. We need to act before he—"

A sudden flash of light filled the room, blinding them all. Eleven staggered, shielding her eyes as the air around her seemed to ripple and twist. When the light faded, another figure stood in the center of the chamber.

He was tall, clad in dark green armor that shimmered faintly with a metallic sheen. His face was obscured by a smooth, blue mask, but his presence was unmistakable. The air around him seemed to hum with authority, with inevitability.

"Kang," Strange muttered, his hands already moving to summon a spell.

The figure tilted his head, as if amused. "Doctor Strange," he said, his voice calm and measured. "Scarlet Witch. And you—" His gaze shifted to Eleven. "You must be the girl causing all this trouble."

Eleven's heart pounded in her chest. She took a step back, but Kang raised a hand, stopping her in her tracks.

"There's no need to be afraid," he said, his tone almost soothing. "I'm not here to hurt you. Quite the opposite. I'm here to help you."

"Help me?" Eleven spat, her voice shaking with anger. "Why would I believe you?"

"Because," Kang said, taking a step closer, "I know what you're going through. I know what it's like to be lost in a world that doesn't understand you. To carry the weight of powers you never asked for."

"Stay away from her," Wanda snapped, her crimson energy flaring to life around her.

Kang ignored her. His focus remained on Eleven. "They don't trust you, do they?" he continued, his voice softening. "They see you as a threat. A problem to be solved. But I see you for what you really are: the key to everything."

Eleven's hands trembled at her sides, her power surging just beneath the surface. "I'm not your key," she said through gritted teeth.

Kang smiled faintly. "Not yet."

Before anyone could react, Kang raised his hand, and the air around Eleven warped again. Strange and Wanda lunged forward, their powers blazing, but it was too late. Eleven felt herself pulled upward, her body weightless as the world twisted around her once more.

And then, everything went dark.
