Elden Ring:After the end

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: A huge dragon.

I certainly consider myself a wizard... Perhaps, I think so, otherwise why would I look so wizard-like. Leaving the questions about my way of dressing, I looked at what Boc has brought me and it certainly was something special.

"... The Dark Moon Sword and that's the Royal Carian Scepter."

"We had collected and stored them when you entered that dream, but it had lost its luster until today."

Without giving attention to the things Boc says, he took the hilt of the rapier and raised it in front of my face in a mesmerized manner. The blade seems to be a piece coming from the moonlight, it was simply beautiful even in the daylight.

As I fell in love with its dark leaf, one or another memory seems to flash subconsciously and these gain color. It's a gift... Yes, this sword came from Ranni "The Moon Princess" or as she currently calls herself Ranni "The Witch".

"Thank you Boc."

"N, n, you must not thank me... It is one of my few honors to be in charge of all your equipment and keep it in perfect condition."

Shaking my head at the ease with which Boc feels happiness, I grab the carian staff and try to feel some reaction. There certainly was, more precisely it was not the staff that reacted, but my body... It was as if a warm current was flowing through it.

Most likely mana, a mysterious energy that is necessary to cast spells and incantations. This flows naturally in all the inhabitants of the Midlands, it may be small or large, but everyone has it within them.

"Master Sellen..."

"Is something wrong my lord?"

"Nothing Boc, now it's time for me to leave."

"Understood!"

Waving towards me as I feel Boc's energized response, I give a nod to Al who has set to work again and easily opens the door leading towards the stairs.

"Wait my lord!

"What is it Boc?"

"Pardon my intrusion... But you don't intend to keep your weapon in your inventory. I'm not saying you can't carry it in your hand, but everyone will be able to recognize it and you might want to go unnoticed."

"Inventory..."

What is vulgarly called inventory is a space existing within the Golden Tree, such as the Round Table, normally accessed through the Graces scattered throughout the Midlands. As I recall that simple introduction, I watch as Boc nods his head vigorously and speaks again.

"Yes, that very thing my lord. You kept things there through the Graces, but now that the Golden Tree and all it represents is repaired, they are gone. But fear not, you as Lord of the Circle should still be able to interact with that place."

Giving a small nod to Boc, I close my eyes and begin to search within myself. It was easy, almost instinctive, within seconds I could already feel my connection to the Golden Tree... No, it was a connection to something else in there. Without giving it any importance, I rummage deeper and in a few seconds I hit that other space.

"Save."

Speaking quietly to myself, as I open my eyes I notice how golden particles cover the Black Moon Sword, and in a few moments it disappears completely.

"Now then, farewell Boc."

"Safe journey my lord!"

The stairs behind the door lead up to the main palace of Leyndell, more precisely to its upper part, which is adorned with the branches of the Golden Tree. Overlooking those incidentals, I crushed my wizard's hat and it covered my face, before I began to descend.

"I tell you I saw it - for a few moments the branches seemed to glow!"

"It makes no difference."

"Bread, carry your bread."

"Skilled agricultural staff needed!"

Leyndell certainly wasn't the most bustling town I've ever seen, that's because it's nowhere near the maximum population it can support and this makes for large empty areas.

Too many people, wouldn't they all have to be locked up and dead in their homes, obviously because of the dragon attack on the capital... Maybe my memories are wrong... No, that dragon corpse is quite real.

Overlooking those thoughts, I continue with the analysis. The largest populations are in the center of Leyndell, while the closer you get to the gates the more uninhabited everything looks. This situation is a sign of how untrustworthy it is.

...Hour later...

After walking along the roads of the city of Leyndell, most likely for more than an hour, I leave the inner walls and stand at the main gate, the one that is always locked.

Overlooking those thoughts about the main entrance always having to be locked, I walk down the long stairs, coming to where a sapling of the Golden Tree rests and turn north.

"Simply amazing. Easily lives up to its species."

Amidst the remains of the battlefield of the Great Devastation, more accurately the siege of Leyndell, lies a massive creature of what is recognizably a dragon. It has two huge pairs of wings that easily reach 25 meters, on the outside they appear to be made of rock or gravel, while inside it has a golden hue. Its body extends for about 50 meters or perhaps more if it stops being at rest, although if we add its elongated neck and tail it may reach 75 meters.

"Wow... A lightless... No, I can recognize that look already... So you've come to finish the job!"

"What?"

Unable to get out of the daze caused by the soft female voice, despite being a huge dragon, I notice how he goes from total disinterest to his reptilian pupils enlarging and in one swift movement he lets out a flaming dragon roar.

It was interesting, despite seeing its throat begin to glow from the buildup of flames and its reptilian pupils burn in fury, I didn't sense any kind of danger. An analogy would be like if a dog barks at you, if it's a Pitbull you'll clearly feel fear, but if it's a Poodle it will just give a laugh.

*Boooom*

Perhaps realizing that the use of fire would be insufficient to do the job, a tremor runs through the ground and as my view cleared of all the flames, I notice Lansseax flying through the air with a red lightning spear in one of his paws.

"Thops Barrier…"

From the Carian Regal Scepter that I hold in my right hand, a blue-green energy begins to emerge once again and in a few moments before Lansseax's spear arrives, it covers my body completely.

*Boooooom!

The explosion was huge and powerful, the melted earth beneath my feet from the heat is a testament to my words. Putting aside its enormous heat, the reddish color occupies my field of vision for a few seconds and when it clears I see Lansseax forming a lightning spike.

"Time for you to come down. Eternal darkness and Gravity Well."

Casting two spells at once was as easy as casting only one, it seems I surprisingly have a talent for this. With those useless thoughts running around in my mind, the spell Eternal Darkness shot out like a projectile and upon impacting against Lansseax's enchantment it was totally devoured.

Without even giving her a little time to react, the Gravity Well sorcery shoots out and when it hits her chest, it pulls Lansseax's entire body in my direction. Obviously I wasn't going to stay in that spot to crash into her, so I step to the side and watch as her entire body is dragged along the ground.

"Drop the towel Lansseax."

"Grr... I will never, ever forget the humiliation you put me through earlier."

Predicting his desire to return to combat, I wave my scepter and above the two of us a starry night appears... Goliath's star shower. Seeing that she stops all movement as she senses danger from one of the legendary magics, I begin to consider her words about having been humiliated.

My unreliable memories begin to spin and in a few moments I realize the reason for his words. I can only say she's right, considering dragons have super inflated pride, having been beaten by me so many times must be a humiliation.

In a nutshell, the situation was that every time she had a new "Buil" she tried it on her. Whether it was a bleeding one with the Reduvia, a fire one with the Cyclops Shield, magic with the Lunar Veil... Yeah, a lot of emotional damage to her.

"You surrender... Or you surrender Lansseax."

Speaking with an incredibly icy tone, I make the Dark Moon Sword appear and activate her ability, causing Lansseax to start shivering under my feet. No, perhaps it wasn't her ability that bathes the blade, a dark moon power that made her tremble, but having a weapon that has reached the level of killing gods pointed at her.

"Al... Dri... Ch..."

"Decide quickly."

Overlooking her gnashing teeth, I make a little force on my rapier and it pierces through her scales like butter.

"I... I... I... I surrender to you."

"Perfect Lansseax. You proved yourself to be someone capable of understanding his situation and I won't make it difficult for you."

Climbing down from Lansseax's draconic body, I stow the Dark Moon Sword and undo Goliath's Star Rain spell, making the evening sky visible again.

First problem solved, I can also say that Sellen's teachings are not lost, though my repertoire of spells seems to be larger than normal.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure darkness spellcasting isn't normal to see, do they even exist in the Midlands?"

When I thought of casting a spell several came to my mind, the strange thing is that there were quite a few repertoires. We have Elden Ring, Dark souls 1, Dark souls 2, Dark souls 3 and Demon souls. One that is repeated or evolutions of the previous one.

"We're leaving or you'll stand there all day."

Overlooking Lansseax's clear annoyance, he stopped thinking about those spells and how being a mage is the easy way, before starting to walk towards Leyndell.
