With the Starry Expanse's Ability, Mika could escape any World instantly, with a single thought.
This was why he was confident in his Ability to negotiate with Saori Kido, even if she knew his secret.
The Gold Cloths and their associated techniques were far too tempting. He was willing to take some risks to acquire such Power.
"Negotiate with Athena?" Alfia shook her head. "Even if we wanted to, how would we contact her? We have no way of communicating with her."
"Don't worry, I believe she'll contact us," Mika replied with a smile.
He returned to the sofa and turned on the television, which was broadcasting an interview with Saori Kido after the conclusion of the Galaxian Wars.
She was surrounded by reporters.
Mika shook his head. 'Those reporters have no idea they're interviewing the reincarnation of Athena.'
"I didn't expect to encounter her so soon…"
Just then, Saori Kido on the screen looked directly at the camera and smiled.
Mika felt it—a direct connection, as if she were smiling at him. He was startled.
"Could it be—her Cosmo never left? Was it simply beyond my perception?"
Gabriel and Alfia, who had just calmed down, looked at him questioningly. But he didn't answer, his own mind filled with uncertainty. He continued to watch the interview, his gaze fixed on Saori.
.....
The next morning, Mika was awakened by an unusual presence outside his villa.
A car had stopped, and a bald man emerged, approaching his front door. Mika recognized him instantly: Tatsumi Tokumaru—Saori Kido's butler.
"He's here already?"
The doorbell rang.
Mika opened the door, feigning ignorance. "Can I help you?"
"Good morning, Mr. Mika. I've come on behalf of Miss Saori. She requests your presence at the Graad Foundation's guest house. She said she's already—spoken with you."
The previous day, Saori had instructed him to investigate Mika and to personally escort him to the guest house. While he didn't understand her intentions, he always obeyed her commands without question.
"Spoken with me…?" Mika murmured, recalling the probing Cosmo and the smile from the television screen. He shook his head, then replied, "Give me a moment. I'll be right there."
"Certainly." Tatsumi Tokumaru stepped back.
Mika returned to the villa. "Both of you, return to my body. If anything seems amiss, I'll take you and leave this World immediately."
"Be careful, Mika," Alfia said, her voice laced with concern.
Gabriel nodded in agreement.
"Don't worry. I'm prepared. You can trust me."
"We do."
They transformed into streams of energy and merged with him. He changed his clothes and followed Tokumaru.
This would be his first truly dangerous encounter in this World.
He took a deep breath, calming his nerves. He was ready.
.....
Sitting in the car, Mika closed his eyes—meditating, considering what he would say to the Goddess of war. Tokumaru remained silent, respecting his privacy.
They reached the Graad Foundation's guest house. As soon as they entered the grounds, Mika sensed several distinct Cosmo signatures.
He recognized them as belonging to Bronze Saints—but they were unfamiliar. Seiya's wasn't among them. He wasn't surprised. Due to his sister and his strained relationship with Saori, Seiya wasn't staying at the guest house.
The car stopped.
"This way, please." Tokumaru led him inside. Mika, lost in thought, paid little attention to his surroundings. It wasn't until they encountered a Saint, and he felt his Cosmo, that he snapped back to reality.
He looked up and saw Jabu—the Unicorn Saint. He couldn't help but smirk. Besides the main five Bronze Saints, Jabu was the one he remembered most clearly, primarily due to his devotion to Saori.
Before Saori awakened as Athena, she had been a spoiled heiress, raised in luxury by Mitsumasa Kido, the head of the incredibly wealthy Graad Foundation.
And even back then, Jabu had been utterly devoted to her, often clashing with Seiya, who refused to obey her every whim.
However, as Saori matured and eventually awakened as Athena, she had shed her spoiled persona. And Jabu, his strength unable to keep up, gradually faded into the background. But in the early stages of the story, he was…a nuisance.
Mika was curious about his reaction. After all, this encounter seemed like the perfect setup for a classic confrontation.
.....
"Who is this?" Jabu asked, approaching them as they walked past.
"A guest of Miss Saori," Tokumaru replied.
"A guest?" Jabu looked at Mika, who smiled politely, then stepped aside. "Please, go ahead."
Mika nodded, relieved that the encounter hadn't escalated. His smile widened. He followed Tokumaru deeper into the mansion, still lost in thought.
"Was that a Saint?" Mika asked, once Jabu was out of sight.
"Indeed. Jabu, the Bronze Saint of Unicorn. He's among the strongest of the Saints participating in the Galaxian Wars," Tokumaru replied proudly.
Mika smiled, amused by his pride.
The Saints were now closely associated with the Graad Foundation. As their butler, Tokumaru's pride was understandable, especially since Saori Kido, the head of the Foundation, was the reincarnation of Athena.
The Graad Foundation and the Saints were now inextricably linked, at least until the next reincarnation of Athena.
However, since this Athena would eventually defeat Hades, ending the cycle of Holy Wars, there might not be another reincarnation.
Lost in thought, Mika followed Tokumaru until they reached a closed door deep within the mansion.
Tokumaru knocked gently. "Miss Saori, Mr. Mika has arrived."
"Please, let him in," Saori's voice called out from within.
"Yes, Miss." He opened the door. "Please enter."
Mika nodded and stepped inside. Tokumaru closed the door behind him.
.....
Mika's gaze was fixed on Saori Kido, sitting alone on a sofa in the spacious room, sipping tea. Her every movement radiated an aura of elegance, surpassing even Rias's.
They were the two most graceful women he had encountered.
However, it wasn't her elegance that captivated him—but the Divine presence emanating from her. There was no doubt; Athena had awakened.
"She's changed…" He had seen her on television, but she was now completely different, though her appearance remained unchanged.
He remembered Saori Kido in three distinct stages:
First, as a spoiled young heiress, pampered by her grandfather.
Then, as a mature, composed businesswoman, having shed her childish ways and taken control of the Graad Foundation. He could imagine the challenges she had faced, taking over such a vast empire at such a young age. These experiences had sharpened her mind.
And now…she seemed almost—Divine. Her aura was majestic, all-encompassing.
'Worthy of leading the Saints against those who threaten this World,' he mused, sensing the Power within her.
"Please, have a seat—traveler from another World," she said with a smile, setting down her teacup as she noticed him standing there, observing her.
Despite her casual tone, her words struck Mika like a thunderbolt.
While he had suspected she might know his secret, he had still clung to a sliver of hope. But her first words had shattered that hope, rendering his carefully prepared explanations useless.
However, though surprised, he wasn't panicked. Even if his secret was revealed, he could always escape.
This knowledge reassured him.
He walked towards the sofa, forcing a smile. "I didn't expect you to see through my disguise easily."
"It wasn't difficult. The energy signatures of you and your two companions are unconventional," she chuckled.
"However, your idea of using Cosmo to integrate your other Powers is quite ingenious. Once you complete the process, it will be much harder to detect your—unique nature."
"After all, Cosmo is incredibly versatile. Its potential is limited only by the wielder's imagination. As long as your mind is free, your Cosmo can achieve anything."
"I see…" Her words opened his mind to new possibilities, a flood of ideas about Cosmo and its potential uses surging through his thoughts. However, he pushed them aside; he had a more pressing matter to address.
He looked at her, his expression serious. "May I ask…how you feel about my presence in this World, Goddess?"
Hearing his direct question, Saori Kido smiled. "And what is your purpose in this World, Mika?"
"I'm a traveler, seeking my own path through the diverse Power systems of different Worlds," he replied, meeting her gaze.
