DxD: King of Salt

Chapter 30: Chapter 29

Zadkiel looked at Tiamat as the mother goddess raised her head and looked at her attacker.

"Are you... here to kill... me?" Tiamat asked him a bit scared.

'She is able to talk albeit slowly. But it's fine in the end.' Zadkiel thought to himself as he looked at the woman.

"No. I have come here to take you away from the fight." Zadkiel said to her with a shake of his head.

"You don't... want to kill me?" Tiamat asked sounding surprised.

"No, I don't want to kill. I want to take you away from here before your children arrive here." Zadkiel said to her with a kind smile.

"Do my... children... hate me?" Tiamat asked him as she looked at him.

"No I... *sigh* I don't actually know to be honest. But I think they want to get rid of you to take control of your dimension." Zadkiel said to her as he looked at her.

"Is my... love not enough?... Did I... do something... wrong?... Was I... a bad... mother?... Was my... love worthless?" Tiamat asked in a sad tone.

"Your love isn't worthless and it was more than enough. You didn't do anything wrong." Zadkiel said to her softly.

"Then why... did they attack... me. I just... want to keep... on loving them." Tiamat said as tears started to form in her eyes.

Zadkiel just gave a kind smile to her before he started to walk to her. Tiamat became scared as she hovered back but he just showed a soft smile towards her as he walked to her. Tiamat just trembled scared as he walked and stood a foot in front of her. However she didn't feel the same fear she had felt when she had fought him. Instead he has a calming aura around him which calmed her down.

"I know you love your children. I know you love them very much. But it looks like they see you as an obstacle to their rule." Zadkiel said to her kindly.

"But... I don't... want to... hurt them." Tiamat said as she looked at him with a sad look with tears in her eyes.

"I know you're just defending yourself. But your children no longer want you. And if I'm being honest here they should be grateful that they have a mother who loves them so much." Zadkiel said to her as he looked at her.

'If she is like the Tiamat from Nasu then she should also love her children very much. It has been many years since I was reincarnated and my memories of my previous life are scarce, which kind of makes sense since I had forgotten most of it before reincarnating.' Zadkiel thought to himself as he looked at her.

"But... I want... to keep... on loving them." Tiamat said sadly.

Zadkiel sighed at her words before he raised his hand. Tiamat became scared thinking that he will hurt her only for her to feel a gentle hand on top of her head as she was surprised and looked at him with wide eyes as he smiled kindly at her.

"I'm sorry you had gone through such a thing and I wouldn't wish it on someone as caring like you. However, your children do not see your love and have chosen to abandon you to gain power. I am sorry, but if you stay here then you will be killed by them." Zadkiel said to her with a small smile.

"But I... can't go... I will... be killed... by other... Gods... They will... hunt me... I'm scared... I don't... want to... run." Tiamat said slowly as she has a scared look.

Zadkiel then decided to gently rub her head as it has helped calm his sisters down. And it seemed to work as Tiamat also calmed down a bit as she looked at him.

"Do not worry. You can come with me to my pantheon. I vow on my name that I won't let your children or any other enemies hurt you." Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

"You... vow?" Tiamat asked him at his words.

"Yes. So would you give me the opportunity to get you out of here?" Zadkiel asked her with a smile.

"Will you... really protect me?" Tiamat asked him once more.

'It looks like she is really afraid of being hunted by others.' Zadkiel thought to himself when he saw her.

"Yes. I will protect you. You can trust me." Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

Tiamat contemplated his words for a few seconds before she looked at him.

"Fine... Please protect... me." Tiamat said to him.

"I will. I will also take care of those." Zadkiel said to her with a smile before he wiped away her tears.

"Oh but I also have something to ask you to do." Zadkiel said to her causing her to look at him confused.

"What is... it?" Tiamat asked confused as Zadkiel grinned.

Back outside the place Zadkiel and Tiamat had fought and where the Gods are fighting the monsters. Marduk had killed the last strongest monster and roared in victory alongside his fellow Gods who had finally managed to defeat the rest of the monsters.

"Now onwards! We will kill Tiamat and become rulers of the world!" Marduk proclaimed as the Gods cheered in agreement.

Then they flew into the realm where Tiamat is as Marduk is at the forefront of the force. Tiamat however now looked more like a Western Dragon with light blue scales and blue eyes. He reached the realm and looked around and found Tiamat down surrounded by turbulent waters as she is roaring at him as the other Gods appeared.

"Now let us defeat Tiamat and get the power we deserve!" Marduk proclaimed as the Gods cheered in unison.

Then they fought against Tiamat with all their might as she also fought against them with her powers as a fierce battle is fought against them.

However from inside a different space in that dimension Zadkiel is looking at the battle with a smile while Tiamat is also beside him as she is looking at the battle.

"It looks like we've managed to fool them. Now is our chance to escape." Zadkiel said as he turned to her.

"Okay." Tiamat said as he smiled at her.

He then created a portal and went inside it as Tiamat looked at it for a few seconds nervously before she also entered inside it as it vanished before that space also ceased to exist.
