DXD: King of fairies

Chapter 13: Chapter [13]

The bell rang, signaling the end of the teacher's class. The students began chatting among themselves, enjoying the break while waiting for the next teacher to arrive. Kaito was organizing his materials when he noticed Nanami approaching.

Nanami, with a determined look, stopped next to Kaito's desk.

"Hi, Kaito."

Kaito looked up, surprised to see Nanami. "Hi, Nanami. What's up?"

Nanami crossed her arms, a smug smile on her lips. "It's good to see that you're trying to impress me."

Kaito frowned, confused. "What are you talking about?"

Nanami let out a loud laugh, attracting the attention of the surrounding classmates, including Hiro, Ren, and Ayumi, who now listened to the conversation with interest.

"Don't play dumb, Kaito. You know what I mean. This new look... it's obvious you're trying to impress me."

Kaito stared at Nanami, incredulous. "I'm not... this has nothing to do with you."

Nanami ignored his response, continuing in an even more arrogant tone. "Anyway, I'll give you a chance. You can buy me sweets after school. And, if I'm in a good mood, maybe I'll let you take me out."

Kaito was momentarily stunned, trying to process Nanami's attitude. He could hardly believe what he was hearing. A mix of anger and disappointment boiled inside him. How could he have ever liked someone like her? It made no sense at all.

He took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "Nanami, I'm not interested. Sorry, but I think you're misunderstanding things."

Nanami's eyes widened, surprised and offended. "What? You're rejecting me?"

Kaito looked her straight in the eye, his expression firm. "Yes, I am. I think you should find someone who actually cares about these things."

Hiro, Ren, and Ayumi continued to watch the scene, visibly impressed by Kaito's stance. Nanami, on the other hand, was speechless for a moment, her face turning red with anger.

"You'll regret this, Kaito!" she said before turning and storming out of the room, still visibly upset.

Hiro approached Kaito, a wide smile on his face. "Dude, that was awesome! I can't believe you said that."

Ren and Ayumi also joined in, expressing admiration for Kaito's courage. "That was really brave," Ayumi commented, smiling.

Kaito shrugged, still processing the situation. "I just told the truth."

"Well, whatever the reason, it was great," Ren said, patting him on the back. "You deserve someone better than her."

Kaito sensed a falseness in Ren and Ayumi's words. He made a mental note not to trust these two and thanked them with a smile as fake as theirs. "Thanks, guys. I appreciate the support."

Meanwhile, in the corridor, Nanami met Kenji, who was leaning against the wall. He looked up as she approached.

"Nanami? What are you doing talking to me in public?" Kenji asked, visibly uncomfortable.

Nanami gave him a cold look. "Shut up and listen."

Kenji immediately fell silent, knowing it was unwise to contradict Nanami.

"I want you to talk to Todoroki and tell him to gather the basketball team to beat up Kaito. And if Hiro is with him, they can hit him too," Nanami ordered, her voice filled with determination.

Kenji looked at her, surprised. "Why? What did he do?"

"The reason doesn't matter," Nanami replied, impatiently. "Just do what I'm asking. If they don't, the basketball team will lose their biggest source of fun."

Kenji realized she was referring to herself as the source of fun and knew Nanami had significant influence over the boys on the team. He sighed, resigned. "Alright, I'll talk to Todoroki."

Nanami gave a satisfied smile. "Good. Don't disappoint me."

With that, she walked away, leaving Kenji to carry out his task. He knew what he was about to do wasn't right, but Nanami's influence was too powerful to ignore.

Class 3-B

The atmosphere was relatively calm, with students chatting among themselves during the break between classes. Rias was sitting next to Akeno.

Suddenly, the door to the classroom opened, and Sona walked in with firm steps, followed by Tsubaki, her vice-president. The air around her seemed tenser than usual, and Sona's eyes were fixed on Rias.

Rias looked up, surprised by the unexpected visit, but maintained her composure. "Sona, what can I do for you?"

Sona approached Rias's desk, wasting no time on formalities. "We need to talk, Rias. Now."

Akeno, sensing the seriousness of the situation, stepped back to give the two leaders space to discuss privately. "I'll leave you two alone."

Rias nodded, turning her attention back to Sona. "What's wrong, Sona? You seem serious."

Sona crossed her arms, her expression stern. "It's about the new member of your Peerage, Kaito. There was an incident earlier today. He exerted significant pressure on Yura, a member of my Peerage. She was extremely shaken."

Rias frowned, concerned. "Kaito did that? He's still adjusting to his new abilities, but I don't believe he would do something like that intentionally."

Sona shook her head, her voice firm. "Intentional or not, the fact is he put one of my members in an uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situation. As president of the student council, I need to ensure the safety of all students, including members of my Peerage."

Rias sighed, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I understand, Sona. I'll talk to Kaito and make sure he understands the consequences of his actions. He's still adjusting to this new reality, but I'll do everything possible to ensure this doesn't happen again."

Sona relaxed a bit but still maintained a serious air. "I hope so, Rias. I trust you to handle this situation appropriately. I don't want more incidents like this."

Rias nodded. "You have my word, Sona. Kaito will be properly guided."

Sona seemed satisfied with Rias's response. "Good. I hope we can resolve this without further complications."

With that, Sona and Tsubaki left the room, leaving Rias and Akeno in an atmosphere a bit heavier than before. Akeno moved closer to Rias, a look of concern on her face.

"This is serious, Rias. What will we do with Kaito?"

Rias sighed, thoughtful. "I'll talk to him as soon as possible. I need you to go to Kaito's classroom and bring him to the occult research club. We need to talk to him about today's incident."

Akeno nodded, understanding the seriousness of the situation. "Of course, Rias. I'll fetch him right now."

With that, Akeno quickly left the room, while Rias headed to the occult research club to wait for Kaito. The atmosphere was tense, and Rias knew she needed to find the best way to guide Kaito to avoid future problems.
