Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Freed Sellzen

Sorry about the issue

------

High above the city, perched atop a towering building, three fallen angels stood in the dim moonlight. Their black wings twitched with barely restrained frustration as they watched the trio below.

"He's ruined our plans one too many times," one of them muttered, her voice filled with venom. "If he's so eager to die, I'll be happy to grant his wish. Let's see what his Sacred Gear can really do."

Raynare, their leader, narrowed her eyes as she watched Blake's retreating figure. A dangerous smirk played at her lips, her voice laced with lethal intent.

"We move at midnight. Bring that lunatic priest with us, and make sure to kill him in one strike."

"Yes, Lady Raynare!"

The three fallen angels shared a wicked grin before vanishing into the night, leaving behind only a few drifting black feathers.

A Scream in the Night

"AHH!!! HELP!!! Devil-sama, please save me!"

The desperate shriek echoed through the empty streets, cutting through the silence like a knife. Blake, walking with Asia not far from home, came to an abrupt stop. His sharp eyes flickered coldly as he turned toward the source of the cry.

Beside him, Kanna gripped his sleeve, her small fingers tightening. She'd seen this kind of thing before—she could guess what was happening.

Asia, however, flinched like a frightened rabbit, instinctively hiding behind Blake. Her wide emerald eyes darted nervously toward the shadowy, ominous building ahead.

The air was thick with something vile—fear, madness, and murderous intent, all swirling together in a suffocating mix.

From inside the building, a voice slithered through the darkness, dripping with mockery.

"Tsk tsk tsk, still alive? You're tougher than I expected for a filthy heretic."

In a dimly lit room, a man hung against the wall, his body crucified by thick iron spikes driven through his hands and feet. Blood trickled down, pooling into dark stains on the cold floor.

"Those who commit evil must be punished," a voice cooed in twisted delight. "At least, that's what a certain saint once said!"

A white-haired priest stood in front of the victim, holding another thick nail between his fingers, poised to drive it straight into the man's abdomen. His eyes gleamed with lunacy, his grin stretching unnaturally wide.

Before he could strike—

A sudden blood-red magic circle flared to life in the room, casting eerie shadows along the walls.

From its center stepped a young girl with short silver hair, a Koneko-shaped hairpin glinting under the dim light.

Her arrival made the white-haired priest pause mid-motion. Then, slowly, a twisted grin spread across his face.

"Oh my, oh my, what do we have here?" he murmured, his tone dripping with excitement. "A Devil, how delightful! The stench of your aura is making my skin crawl in the best way possible!"

The man pinned to the wall let out another desperate cry, his voice hoarse but filled with renewed hope.

"Ah!!! Help!!! Devils, please save me!"

The priest's grin twitched. His eye twitched. Then, with a manic laugh, he drove the nail even deeper into the man's flesh.

"You dare beg a Devil for help in front of me? That takes some real guts!"

The room grew even colder.

Koneko's golden eyes darkened as she stepped forward, her voice steady but laced with unspoken fury.

"Let him go."

Freed Sellzen's gaze flicked to her, amusement dancing in his wild eyes.

"A Devil pleading for a human?" he scoffed. "That's so disgusting I could puke."

Then, with no warning, he yanked the nail free from the man's stomach—only to plunge it directly into his heart. Again. And again.

Crimson splattered across the priest's face. He shuddered in twisted delight, his laughter ringing out like a broken melody.

The sight sent a surge of fury through Koneko. Her hands clenched into fists as she lunged forward, her right fist cutting through the air toward the priest's smug face.

BOOM!

Freed dodged effortlessly, smirking as Koneko's punch shattered the nearby wall, sending debris flying.

"Hahaha! Not bad, little kitty," he taunted, stepping back. "But that strength of yours is worthless against me!"

With a flick of his wrist, he drew a glowing blade from his chest. The weapon hummed with holy energy, the sheer radiance of it burning like a brand against the darkness.

Koneko's pupils contracted. She barely had time to react as the blade came swinging toward her neck.

Too fast!

She twisted her body, but the sword's trajectory was unforgiving. Even if she dodged, it would still graze her shoulder. The holy energy would burn her flesh—it would be a serious wound.

Freed's grin widened. The thrill of the hunt glowed in his crazed eyes.

And then—

SHING!

Five energy blades shot through the air in an instant.

One struck his holy sword, knocking it off course.

The other four pierced through his limbs, cutting deep into muscle and bone.

"AAAAAAGGGHHHH!!!"

Freed's scream echoed through the room as he collapsed, blood spurting from the gaping wounds in his arms and legs.

Taking the opportunity, Koneko quickly moved back, her golden eyes snapping toward the doorway.

There, standing in the open entrance, was a silver-haired young man, his icy blue eyes radiating quiet fury.

"Senpai...?" Koneko murmured in surprise.

Blake stepped inside, his footsteps heavy with barely restrained rage. His gaze locked onto Freed's writhing form, a storm brewing behind his usually calm eyes.

"You dare try to harm my kohai?" he said, voice dangerously low.

Freed, despite his injuries, bared his teeth in a twisted sneer.

"You... bastard..." he wheezed. "Do you have a death wish?!"

Blake exhaled sharply through his nose. Then, with a flick of his fingers, the large iron nails on the floor shot up and impaled Freed's limbs, pinning him down like a grotesque marionette.

"AAAAAARGHHHH!!!" Freed's scream tore through the air, but this time, he had no strength left to fight back. His face twisted in agony, his body trembling.

Koneko's sharp eyes flicked toward Blake. "Senpai, what are you doing here?"

Blake didn't answer right away. He simply stood over Freed's broken form, his gaze unreadable.
