Aiden and Peter moved swiftly across the rooftops, their silhouettes blending into the darkened skyline. They moved as discreetly as possible, leaping between buildings with ease. Aiden followed Peter's lead, knowing that if anyone could get them to their destination undetected, it was him.

Soon, they reached their destination—Gwen's home. Peter landed first, crouching by her window before knocking in a distinct rhythm.

Moments later, the window slid open, revealing Gwen on the other side.

"Hey! My parents will be back at eight. Have you still not heard from—oh…" She paused, blinking as she noticed Aiden standing behind Peter. "Hi, Aiden."

Aiden gave a small, nervous wave. "Hi, Gween… Uhm… Thanks for helping me… and my family."

As Aiden and Peter stepped into the room, Aiden took a moment to glance around. A lot of pink, he noted silently.

Gwen grinned. "No problem, Aiden! Your family is downstairs."

Before she even finished her sentence, Aiden had already rushed past her. His heart pounded in his chest as he moved, and when he reached the living room, he saw them.

His mother, Lucy, and little Evelyn sat together on the couch, the younger girl clinging to her mother's side.

"Mom!" Aiden called out, immediately running toward her.

Lucy didn't hesitate. The moment he reached her, she wrapped him in a tight embrace. Evelyn, not wanting to be left out, threw her arms around them both.

"What's going on, son? I saw… Spider-Man come to us. He said we might be in danger…" Lucy asked, concern heavy in her voice.

Aiden took a deep breath. "I'll explain in a bit, but first—" He turned back toward Peter and Gwen, his expression softening. "Thank you. Both of you."

Gwen smiled. "Always ready to help a friend."

Peter, on the other hand, sighed dramatically. "Well, I guess with my identity exposed, there's no point hiding anymore." He pulled off his mask. "Ugh… this thing is suffocating."

Then, Peter smirked at Gwen. "Guess what, Gwen! Aiden is—"

Before he could finish, Gwen cut him off with a knowing grin. "Superspecial like you? Let me guess… you're an Eagle? Eagle Man? Or wait! Something bug-wise! Beetle? Beetleman? At least you don't dress like a weirdo like Peter here!"

Aiden chuckled. "Actually… it's a dragon."

Gwen's eyes lit up with excitement. "Dragon?! Ha! Should we call you Dragonman? Wait, Peter was bitten by a spider—"

Peter, the eternal nerd, gasped dramatically. "YOU WERE BITTEN BY A DRAGON?!"

"Ha… no," Aiden replied with a smirk. "Since you guys helped me, I guess I don't mind telling you—"

Before he could finish, Evelyn excitedly interrupted, bouncing slightly in Lucy's arms.

"My brother is a DRAGON SLAYER!" she announced proudly.

"Dragon Slayer?!" Peter and Gwen exclaimed in unison.

Aiden rubbed the back of his head. "Kinda, yeah… My powers work like that. I think most people assume I'm a mutant, but honestly? I have no clue where I got this power."

Gwen whistled. "Wow… that's special."

"And I thought being a spider was cool," Peter muttered.

Lucy, still holding Evelyn close, finally spoke up. "Aiden… what happened? Why did you bring us here? Why are we in danger?"

Aiden's expression darkened as he looked at the ground. "It's… it's Dad." He clenched his fists. "He's being accused of kidnapping Sue Storm—the Invisible Woman."

The room fell into stunned silence.

Gwen and Peter's eyes widened.

Lucy's grip on Evelyn tightened.

Aiden took a deep breath and began explaining everything—his father's sudden arrest, the SHIELD agents, his own capture, and finally…

"And in the end, I got angry and kinda destroyed their building and escaped."

"Kinda?!" Gwen shrieked. "Aiden, it was on the news this morning! They said it was a gas leak, but half the building was destroyed! That was you?!"

Aiden winced. "Ehm… yeah, I guess."

Lucy shook her head. "Aiden… Jason would never do such a thing. Something must have happened. Your father has always had the ear of some SHIELD higher-ups… because of me."

Peter frowned. "Because of you, Mrs. Blake?"

Lucy sighed, extending her hands.

Before their eyes, shimmering, dragon-like scales formed across her skin.

Peter and Gwen stared in awe.

"I'm a mutant," Lucy admitted. "And some SHIELD higher-ups… well, they hate that Jason is with me."

Peter shifted uncomfortably. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Blake… not all of us think that way."

Gwen, looking guilty, nodded. "Yeah… that's awful."

Lucy smiled gently. "Don't worry about it, dear. I don't blame you—or anyone, really. It's just how some humans are."

Trying to lighten the mood, Peter suddenly asked, "So is that how you knew I was Spider-Man? Because of your dad?"

Aiden met Peter's gaze… and then slowly nodded. "Yeah."

Peter sighed. "I see… SHIELD approached me about a year ago. Some weird guy with an eyepatch told me about what they do and stuff."

Aiden crossed his arms. "Well, I'm going to have to find out more about this kidnapping. I need to locate the Invisible Woman and prove my dad's innocence."

Lucy stared at her son for a long moment, worry flickering in her eyes. But then, she sighed.

"I trust you, Aiden. Just… stay safe."

Aiden gave her a reassuring smile. "Of course. Don't worry, Mom. You know me."

Gwen then spoke up hesitantly. "So, uh… about my parents. They'll be home at eight. Are we going to have to explain all of this to them?"

Aiden shook his head. "No. I don't want to involve more people. I know a place where Mom can stay safe, so don't worry about that."

Aiden led Peter, his mother, and Evelyn through the dimly lit tunnels beneath the city, the air thick with dampness and the distant echo of dripping water. The underground passage was winding and labyrinthine, an easy place to get lost if one didn't know the way.

Peter glanced around uneasily, his voice low but skeptical. "Are you sure there's a safe place down here? This looks like the kind of place where horror movies start."

Aiden, walking ahead, didn't even turn around as he replied confidently, "Trust me, Pete. It's safer than it looks."

Eventually, they reached an old rusted door, half-buried in the wall, its surface worn from time and exposure. Aiden stopped in front of it and exhaled, already dreading what was coming next. He knocked firmly.

A small metal hatch slid open, revealing a pair of sharp, glowing yellow eyes. A gruff voice growled from the other side, "Password."

Aiden sighed. He really hated this part. "...616. No rats in Morlock."

There was a brief silence before the hatch slammed shut, followed by the heavy creak of locks being undone. The door swung open, and standing there was Mick, a burly, scale-skinned mutant who served as one of Morlock's gatekeepers. His reptilian eyes gleamed with amusement.

"Well, well! If it ain't the legendary Dragon-Angel himself!" Mick grinned, clapping Aiden on the back hard enough to make him stumble. "Look at you, back so soon! You miss us already, Dragon?"

Aiden cringed. He would never get used to that ridiculous nickname. "Yeah, yeah, Mick. Good to see you too." He quickly helped his mother and Evelyn step inside. Peter followed close behind, his eyes widening as he took in the sight before him.

Beyond the entrance, the underground settlement of Morlock stretched out before them—a hidden sanctuary for mutants who had no place in the world above. The space was alive with activity, makeshift homes carved into the walls, lights strung along the ceiling to simulate a city skyline, and mutants of all shapes and sizes moving about. Some were chatting, some working, others simply surviving.

Aiden turned to his companions, gesturing with open arms. "Welcome to the outcast's haven... Morlock."
