Dragon Ball: Mori's tales

Chapter 32: StarScourge and the Perfect being final Clash

Mori floated in the vast emptiness of space, his body bloodied and battered from the relentless fight against Cell. Despite the pain, he grinned, his heart racing with exhilaration. He hadn't felt this alive in years. Across from him, Cell hovered, his perfect form cracked and unable to regenerate. Both warriors knew the end was near.

"Let's finish this, bug," Mori said, his voice hoarse but filled with determination.

Cell, panting and barely holding himself together, chuckled weakly. "Yes… Let's. I'll show you what true perfection looks like in a final attack." His confidence hadn't wavered, despite the toll the fight had taken on him.

Mori's eyes narrowed, and a flash of energy ignited around him. "You're about to see something beyond your comprehension. I'll show you the power of the *Starscourge*."

With those words, Mori extended his arms, his ki roaring to life, swirling around him like a violent storm. Behind him, two planets, three stars, and two moons gathered, aligning in a perfect circular pattern. The energy connecting them crackled, forming a vast web of power with Mori at the center. His ki threaded through each celestial body, creating a devastating circuit of cosmic energy. The sheer force caused ripples in space, as if the universe itself bent to Mori's will.

Cell watched in awe but didn't back down. He began charging a Kamehameha, his signature attack. He roared, focusing what remained of his strength into his hands, the brilliant blue light of the Kamehameha growing larger and more intense with each passing second.

For five minutes, the two fighters charged their attacks, the energy between them growing to incomprehensible levels. The stars and planets behind Mori vibrated with energy, while Cell's Kamehameha burned brighter than ever before.

On New Namek, the Z-fighters watched in stunned silence, their eyes glued to the image of Mori and Cell, their bodies glowing with power on Porunga's display. The intensity of the moment weighed heavily on everyone.

Goku, his eyes wide, spoke softly but firmly, "That blast... it could destroy entire galaxies. Maybe more."

The others gasped at Goku's words. Even Vegeta, normally composed, had a bead of sweat running down his face. None of them had expected such raw, terrifying power.

---

Back in space, Mori and Cell unleashed their attacks at the same moment. Mori's Starscourge shot forward, a colossal wave of celestial energy, its edges shimmering with the power of planets and stars. Cell's Kamehameha roared to life, a massive beam of blue ki that screamed through the void. The two attacks collided with a deafening, cosmic explosion that sent shockwaves across the universe. Stars blinked out of existence, planets disintegrated, and the sheer force tore through the galaxy.

Mori and Cell stood their ground, pushing everything they had into their attacks. Sweat and blood dripped from their faces, their bodies trembling as they gave it their all. The blasts locked in place, neither giving an inch as the two warriors pushed themselves to their absolute limits.

For ten long minutes, they remained locked in that struggle. Their ki clashed violently, distorting space and time around them. The energy from the collision created a supernova-like explosion that dwarfed everything else in the universe.

Mori gritted his teeth. "This… is it!" he roared, pushing with everything he had left.

Cell, struggling to maintain his composure, gave one final scream, his eyes wide with desperation. "I am perfect!" he shouted, unleashing his last reserves of power.

And then, it happened. The combined force of their attacks reached a breaking point, and with a final, catastrophic explosion, both Mori and Cell were consumed by the blast. The light from the explosion spread through the cosmos, obliterating everything in its path. When the light finally faded, there was nothing left but silence and darkness.

---

Back on New Namek, the Z-fighters stared at the screen, their faces pale with shock. Even Vegeta, usually so calm in the face of battle, was visibly shaken. Mori and Cell… were gone. The explosion had disintegrated them both.

Krillin was the first to speak, his voice shaky. "They… they're both gone…"

Gohan clenched his fists, tears welling up in his eyes. "Mori…"

Piccolo, ever the strategist, spoke up. "We should use the Dragon Balls. We can at least bring back everyone Cell killed."

They nodded in agreement, and with a single wish to Porunga, all the people Cell had killed were revived, including the two android twins. As the second wish was granted, Krillin hesitated before speaking again.

"We should… bring Mori back, too."

The group gathered around, and Goku nodded, agreeing. "Yeah… Dende, go ahead."

Dende stepped forward, ready to make the request, but before he could, Porunga's voice interrupted.

"I cannot bring Mori back."

Everyone froze, stunned by the dragon's words.

"What do you mean?" Goku asked, confused. "He died in the fight against Cell, didn't he?"

Porunga's eyes glowed for a moment as he searched. "Mori has already passed on to the afterlife. But… I sense something else. Mori has declined to return. He has made his decision, and as his old friend, I choose to respect that."

The Z-fighters were left in silence, absorbing the weight of Porunga's words. Even Shenron, who they had summoned many times before, spoke with a genuine tone of loss and respect, surprising them all.

---

In the afterlife, Mori stood in line, floating with a halo above his head. Behind him was Cell, his face twisted in anger. Mori turned to look at him and chuckled. "Well, looks like we both died, huh?"

Cell snarled, crossing his arms. "Don't get cocky, human."

Mori laughed, amused at how even death hadn't humbled the bio-engineered warrior. After a few moments, they reached the front of the line, where a massive ogre sat behind a desk, reviewing their cases.

The ogre looked down at Mori, a hint of a smile on his face. "King Kai is calling for you. You're headed to Snake Way."

Mori nodded, accepting his fate. He then glanced at Cell, curious. "What about the bug?"

The ogre snorted. "Hell. Where he belongs."

Mori let out a laugh, shaking his head. "Told you, Cell. Should've been a good guy. Maybe you'll get reincarnated as something decent."

As Mori walked away, the ogre rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Reincarnated, huh?" he murmured to himself. "That's not a bad idea…"

Mori waved, his carefree attitude still intact, as he headed toward Snake Way, ready to meet King Kai and begin his journey in the afterlife.

And so, Mori flew off toward King Kai's planet, leaving behind a legacy of power, sacrifice, and a fight that would be remembered throughout the universe.
