Douluo: What If Bibi Dong and Yu Xiaogang Ended Up Together?

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Target – Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Spirit City, Pope's Palace.

A magnificent domed structure stood tall atop a hill.

Its exquisite glazed dome radiated seven-colored light under the sun, creating a breathtaking sight.

At this moment, atop the dome of the Pope's Palace, Qian Xunji sat cross-legged, his eyes closed. He wore a white suit-like robe adorned with intricate golden patterns and ornaments. His long golden hair was neatly styled, cascading over his shoulders.

Due to cultivating Holy Sun Blazing Radiance, his body emitted a faint golden glow. Under the iridescent light of the dome, his handsome and flawless face made him seem almost divine.

Suddenly, a graceful figure flew over from a distance.

It was Ling Yuan, clad in a tight-fitting black leather outfit that accentuated her tall, fiery figure. Her features were exquisite, and she carried an air of refined elegance.

A pair of fiery red spirit energy wings extended from her back as she landed beside Qian Xunji.

Even though this wasn't the first time she had seen Qian Xunji after his change of attire, a hint of amazement still flashed through her beautiful eyes. She respectfully bowed.

"Your Holiness, Bishop Yue Guan has been brought here."

Hearing this, Qian Xunji slowly opened his eyes, exhaling a deep breath as he concluded his cultivation.

He stood up from the dome.

When he noticed Ling Yuan lowering her head in a bow, revealing the undulating peaks of her chest, her fair face tinged with a faint blush, he couldn't help but smile slightly and nod in satisfaction.

'Not bad, not bad.'

'It seems my change of attire was effective.'

'This little Ling Yuan is blushing!'

He had spent a long time wandering Spirit City before finally deciding on this outfit.

Frankly, he was speechless about his predecessor's sense of fashion.

He was originally quite handsome, yet insisted on wearing a garish golden suit of armor every day, paired with a bright red cape.

To top it off, he even wore a cumbersome pope's crown that covered half his face, completely hiding his good looks.

Absolutely ridiculous!

To the original Qian Xunji, wearing the full Pope's Regalia was necessary to project authority.

But Qian Xunji thought otherwise.

A pope's authority wasn't something that came from his attire.

True dignity came from an unparalleled strength that exuded confidence and dominance.

It required extraordinary capability and shrewdness to lead Spirit Hall to greater heights.

Only by achieving this would all soul masters of Spirit Hall truly respect and revere him from the bottom of their hearts.

If he could accomplish that—

Even without wearing the pope's robes, who would dare to disrespect him?

Of course, when it came to strength, Qian Xunji had only recently broken through to the Titled Douluo realm. At present, he was merely at Level 92.

He wasn't yet powerful enough to dominate the world.

But while strength was temporary, handsomeness lasted a lifetime!

As a transmigrator, he had finally arrived in this world in such a handsome form.

Qian Xunji felt he ought to properly take care of his appearance.

And from Ling Yuan's reaction, it seemed his efforts had paid off!

Just as Ling Yuan finished her report, a figure dressed in crimson robes swiftly moved across the rooftops before arriving before Qian Xunji.

The newcomer was tall and slender, clad in a bishop's red robe. He had shoulder-length golden hair, a delicate and androgynous face, and smoky eye makeup.

Though undeniably handsome, he was slightly less attractive than Qian Xunji.

This was none other than the future Chrysanthemum Douluo, Yue Guan.

Of course, that was in the future.

For now, it was only the year 2615 of the Douluo Calendar, fifteen years before the birth of Tang San.

At this point, Yue Guan was still just a Spirit Douluo.

Within Spirit Hall, he was merely a high-ranking Red-Clothed Bishop with considerable strength.

"Subordinate Yue Guan greets Your Holiness!"

"I wonder why Your Holiness has summoned me?"

Being summoned alone by the Pope, Yue Guan was both nervous and excited. He immediately bowed with the utmost respect.

"Bishop Yue Guan, there's no need to be so tense."

"I called you here to ask you something. I heard that your Yue Clan has studied flora for generations."

"Does your family have any ancient texts documenting rare medicinal herbs?"

Qian Xunji smiled warmly, like the sun itself, as he patted Yue Guan's shoulder.

As a transmigrator in Douluo Dalu, if he sought power, he absolutely could not miss out on the famous Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and its trove of immortal herbs.

He knew its general location—within Sunset Forest.

However, he was unfamiliar with the various herbs and immortal plants inside.

He only knew of a few mentioned in the novel.

But surely, the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well held more than just the ones Tang San had found.

That's why he thought of Yue Guan.

After all, he remembered that in the novel, Yue Guan had recognized the Yearning Heartbroken Red, identifying it as an immortal herb.

There were even online rumors that the Yue Clan possessed a family heirloom—a book cataloging various immortal and rare medicinal herbs.

Though he wasn't sure if it was true, it was worth asking.

"Yes, Your Holiness, our Yue Clan indeed possesses an ancient text recording various rare herbs."

"The highest-grade herbs documented in it are of the same level as my Exquisite Bodhi Chrysanthemum martial soul."

"That's why it's called the Immortal Herb Codex."

Yue Guan was surprised that the Pope would ask about this, but he still answered respectfully.

"Does Your Holiness need the Immortal Herb Codex now?"

"If so, I can return home immediately and bring it to you as an offering!"

Although reluctant to part with the book, Yue Guan had already memorized its contents. He could always make a copy later.

For the sake of his career, he gritted his teeth and made the offer.

Qian Xunji was delighted to hear that the book actually existed.

However, he merely smiled and said, "No need to offer it. I just need to borrow it for a while."

Soon, Yue Guan returned home and brought back the Immortal Herb Codex.

After receiving it, Qian Xunji prepared to head to the Douluo Hall.

...

Douluo Hall, Angelic Sanctuary.

The vast, resplendent sanctuary housed the Angel God's Statue, exuding divine radiance.

Qian Daoliu stood inside, draped in golden robes with a deep blue cloak. His golden hair was neatly arranged, and his mature yet handsome face carried a hint of solemnity.

Frowning slightly, he turned to Qian Xunji and asked,

"Xun'er, you suddenly asked me to gather your Uncle Golden Crocodile, Uncle Azure Luan, and Uncle Mighty Lion. What is this about?"

"Xun'er?"

Qian Xunji couldn't hold back, his mouth twitching slightly.

"Father, can you not call me 'Xun'er'?"

"Can't you call me 'Xunji' instead?"

"Or even just 'Ji'?"

"'Xun'er' sounds a bit... off."

"What do you mean 'off'?"

Qian Daoliu was displeased and adopted a fatherly stance.

"'Xun' means 'seeking,' and it carries the meaning of seeking fortune!"

"You should know that your mother's martial soul wasn't strong, and her cultivation wasn't high either. I was very worried she might not be able to give birth to you."

"Or that if she did, you might be weak or untalented. That's why I named you Qian Xunji—'Seeking Fortune, Seeking Prosperity'!"

"This name carries great meaning!"

"Fine, Father, call me whatever you like."

Qian Xunji was exasperated but had no choice but to endure.

For now, he wasn't strong enough to challenge this old man.

But once he surpassed him in strength, he'd make sure to put him in his place!

"By the way, Xun'er."

"You still haven't said why you gathered your uncles here."

Qian Daoliu frowned again.

"Don't worry, Father!"

"I have good news for them!"

Qian Xunji smiled confidently.

Translator's Note: The name Qian Xunji (千寻疾) can be interpreted as "seeking illness", which is ironic considering the meaning Qian Daoliu supposedly intended.

千 (Qiān) = "Thousand"

寻 (Xún) = "Seek" or "Search"

疾 (Jí) = "Illness" or "Disease" (though it can also mean "swift" or "urgent" in some contexts)

So, a more literal reading of his name is "Seeking a thousand illnesses", which doesn't sound very auspicious at all.

If Qian Daoliu really meant "Seeking Fortune, Seeking Prosperity", he would have chosen different characters, such as:

千寻吉 (Qiān Xún Jí) = "Seeking a thousand fortunes"

千寻福 (Qiān Xún Fú) = "Seeking a thousand blessings"

Given this, it's either a weird naming choice from the author or something that wasn't deeply considered.

Also, I translated other two douluo fanfics and this one gave me more headache due to the wordplay used.
