The Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect.

With light and cheerful steps, Ning Rongrong returned to the sect after two years. She was in high spirits, thinking to herself: I've worked hard over the past two years and improved my soul power by four ranks. Father and Grandfather Sword and Grandfather Bone will definitely be proud of me. And I've also gained six friends from Shrek Academy who feel like family.

The sect was as magnificent as ever—rows upon rows of grand palaces stretched as far as the eye could see, alongside artificial lakes, jagged rock formations, and exquisitely landscaped gardens, creating a scene of unparalleled beauty.

Yet, as Ning Rongrong gazed at the sect's surroundings, her brows furrowed slightly. Something felt off. In her memory, rare minerals and crystals used to craft Seven Treasures Glazed Pagodas were scattered throughout the sect, but now, their numbers had dwindled significantly.

Upon entering the Sect Master's Hall, she spotted three familiar figures in the distance. Just as she was about to rush forward for a hug, she suddenly froze mid-step—her pupils contracting in shock.

Her father, once a man exuding the charm of a mature gentleman despite being in his sixties, now looked to be in his fifties, with strands of white in his hair and wrinkles lining his face.

Her Grandfather Sword, a man once possessing the aura of an immortal sage, always carrying an air of arrogance, had once defied age itself. Despite being close to a hundred, his face had remained as smooth and youthful as a child's. But now, wrinkles covered his features, and the sharp, sword-like aura he once had was completely gone.

And her Grandfather Bone—he had lost an arm and a leg. A walking cane rested beside his chair.

"Rongrong, you're back. Come, let Grandfather see my good granddaughter." Bone Douluo smiled warmly, extending his only remaining left hand.

Even though Bone Douluo's strength had dropped to that of a Soul Douluo, his status within the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect remained unchanged. While Ning Fengzhi was cunning and adept at political maneuvering—often striking from the shadows with a hidden dagger—when it came to his own sect, his care for Sword and Bone Douluo was genuine. That was precisely why the two of them had fought to their last breath to protect the sect, ensuring that it remained ranked second among the Upper Three Sects.

"Father, Grandfather Sword, Grandfather Bone—what happened to you all?!"

Tears streamed down Ning Rongrong's face as she ran toward them. However, due to her long dress and the overwhelming surge of emotions, she tripped—landing face-first on the ground in an unceremonious fall.

"Ah—!"

Seeing this, Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Bone Douluo immediately stood up and rushed over to help her.

Ning Fengzhi gently patted her shoulder and asked, "Rongrong, are you hurt?"

Still sniffling, Ning Rongrong clung to Bone Douluo's arm, her voice choked with emotion. "I'm fine, Father… but what about you and Grandfather Sword and Grandfather Bone? What happened to the sect? Who could possibly have the power to do this to us?"

Ning Fengzhi's expression darkened as he gritted his teeth. "That man… is Spirit Hall's new Pope, Qian Renhan. He didn't just sever your Grandfather Bone's arm and leg—he also shattered your Grandfather Sword's sword heart, leaving him forever unable to break through to the next level. On top of that, he robbed our Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect of two billion gold soul coins!"

Ning Rongrong screamed in fury, "Qian Renhan! Why would he do this to us?! What right does he have to hurt my Grandfather Sword and Grandfather Bone?! How dare he?! Does he not fear that we will declare war on Spirit Hall?!"

Ning Fengzhi's voice was filled with frustration as he rebuked, "Rongrong! Think before you speak! Do you even understand what you're saying? The reason our Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect stands today is because of your Grandfather Sword and Grandfather Bone! If even they were powerless against him, then tell me, how can our sect possibly stand against Spirit Hall?! If your Grandfather Sword was still at his peak, we might have barely held onto our position as the second of the Upper Three Sects, but now… now, even our place among the Upper Three Sects is in jeopardy!"

Ning Rongrong's heart sank, but she refused to back down. "But Father, you've always said that the Upper Three Sects stand together as one. Our relationships with the other two sects are as close as family. Now that our sect has suffered such a disaster, won't they help us?"

Ning Fengzhi let out a bitter chuckle. "Rongrong, there are no eternal enemies in the world of soul masters—only eternal interests. The so-called unity of the Upper Three Sects is nothing more than a meaningless slogan. If it weren't for the looming presence of Spirit Hall, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and Clear Sky Sect would be our enemies just as much as anyone else."

"Rongrong, You Must Never Provoke That Man"

Ning Fengzhi spoke solemnly, "The Spirit Hall is no longer the oppressive force it once was, seeking to make every soul master force and sect on the continent bow before them. Instead, they have become just another sect, like us. In the end, the so-called unity of the Upper Three Sects has truly become nothing more than empty words."

His expression turned serious as he continued, "Rongrong, there's something important I want you to learn today. Let go of your savior complex and respect the fate of others. If something doesn't concern us, we mustn't meddle. This is a lesson I have come to understand deeply over the past two years."

Due to the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect suffering a drastic decline in wealth and resources, and with Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo's strength significantly diminished, Ning Fengzhi had even grown wary of using his usual tactics—striking from the shadows—out of fear that it might bring more trouble to the sect.

"Let go of my savior complex and respect the fate of others… Rongrong understands." Ning Rongrong nodded in acknowledgment. But whether she would actually follow this advice—or, in a moment of impulse, end up causing disaster—was another matter entirely.

Suddenly, Ning Fengzhi asked, "Rongrong, you once mentioned encountering someone in Star Dou Forest who slapped you and showed no fear of me or your Grandfather Sword and Grandfather Bone. Tell me… was he a white-haired man with blood-red eyes, dressed in black, with a face so beautiful he looked almost like a woman?"

"Yes, Father! And not only that—he even called you and my grandfathers trash!" Ning Rongrong seethed with anger.

Ning Fengzhi sighed deeply. "Rongrong… this is a grudge that even I cannot avenge for you."

Both Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo fell silent, their faces dark and heavy.

"Why, Father? We may not be able to challenge Spirit Hall, but surely we're not so weak that we can't deal with a soul master who just appeared out of nowhere?" Ning Rongrong's voice trembled with frustration, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. Had her father and grandfathers stopped caring about her? Why weren't they willing to stand up for her?

Ning Fengzhi's expression darkened. "Because that man… is Qian Renhan—the very person responsible for bringing the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect to this state!"

"Rongrong, remember this well: as long as Qian Renhan exists, we must never oppose Spirit Hall—and even more importantly, we must never provoke him. Do you hear me?" Ning Fengzhi warned sternly.

"…Understood." Ning Rongrong lowered her head, her face bleak, but inside, she was burning with rage.

Qian Renhan? The so-called Pope of Spirit Hall? He's nothing but a bully who preys on the weak, a despicable piece of trash who relies on power to oppress others! Someone like him leading Spirit Hall?

Hmph! Spirit Hall is doomed to fall sooner or later!
