The former Blue Tyrant Academy, now Shrek Academy, was currently holding a discussion. Grandmaster, along with the Shrek Seven Devils and several substitutes, sat in a circle, deliberating over the upcoming Continental Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament, set to take place in six months.

As in the original storyline, the Shrek team had clashed with the Emperor Team in battle. Afterward, their leader, Qin Ming, engaged in discussions with them. Yu Xiaogang decided to travel to Heaven Dou City and join an academy to secure a spot in the tournament.

However, unlike the original events, Tang San's Eight Spider Lances had been ripped off by Qian Renxue, and his hidden weapons were exhausted in battle against Xiao Wu. Without any financial support from a soul master stipend and constantly participating in fights at the Great Spirit Arena to earn money, he had no time to forge or purchase Xuan Iron hidden weapons. As a result, Xiao Wu fell victim to the third soul skill of Shimo and Shimo—Black Tortoise Meat Grinder. Enraged, Tang San fought back but was ultimately defeated in the Emperor Team's relentless battle formation.

This marked the first defeat of the Shrek team since their debut at the Great Spirit Arena in Soto City and also the first time Tang San had utilized all of the Tang Sect's techniques, only to still lose.

Furious at the Emperor Team for seriously injuring them, the Shrek team harbored deep resentment and outright rejected Qin Ming's invitation to join the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy. Instead, under Flender's guidance, they ended up joining Blue Tyrant Academy.

Without the assistance of celestial herbs, even with secret resource support from the Clear Sky Sect, the strength of the Shrek Seven Devils paled in comparison to the original storyline.

- *Dai Mubai* – Martial Soul: Evil-Eyed White Tiger, Level 41 Assault-type Battle Soul Ancestor (+4 levels).

- *Tang San* – Martial Soul: Blue Silver Grass, Level 37 Control-type Battle Soul Grandmaster (+8 levels).

- *Ning Rongrong* – Martial Soul: Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda, Level 31 Support-type Soul Grandmaster (+4 levels).

- *Zhu Zhuqing* – Martial Soul: Netherworld Spirit Cat, Level 32 Agility-type Battle Soul Grandmaster (+5 levels).

- *Oscar* – Martial Soul: Sausage, Level 34 Food-type Battle Soul Grandmaster (+4 levels).

- *Ma Hongjun* – Martial Soul: Evil Fire Phoenix, Level 31 Assault-type Battle Soul Grandmaster (+5 levels).

- *Xiao Wu* – Martial Soul: Soft Bone Rabbit, Level 37 Assault-type Battle Soul Grandmaster (+8 levels).

Without celestial herbs, Tang San had to progress slowly through traditional cultivation. Additionally, Dugu Bo had been killed by Porcupinefish Douluo, leaving Tang San and Xiao Wu together. They bickered daily, and to avoid undermining Tang San's confidence, Xiao Wu intentionally maintained the same cultivation pace as him—whenever Tang San advanced by one level, she would do the same.

The majority of the Clear Sky Sect's resources were allocated to repairing Tang San's damaged foundation. As for the other six members, who had no affiliation with the Clear Sky Sect, there was no reason for them to receive any resources. Even Tang Hao had no intention of securing resources for them.

With his sharp insight, Tang Hao easily discerned that Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing hailed from the Star Luo Empire, making them impossible recruits for the Clear Sky Sect. Ning Rongrong, being from the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect, was also out of the question, and her sect was never short on resources anyway. Oscar, who was practically Ning Rongrong's devoted follower, would likely end up joining her sect as well, making resource investment pointless. As for Ma Hongjun, given his rampant Evil Fire issue, he was bound to burn himself out sooner or later. Letting someone with such an affliction join the Clear Sky Sect would only bring shame upon it. Finally, Xiao Wu, being a transformed 100,000-year soul beast, cultivated using her inner core and was unaffected by resource availability.

As for the four substitute members—Jing Ling, Huang Yuan, Jiangzhu, and Tailong—the latter was a former young master of the Strength Clan, exiled from the Clear Sky Sect by Titan. Now, he had come to Shrek Academy to serve Tang San, even addressing him as "Young Master San."

Among these four, their spirit power levels were middling compared to the Shrek Seven Devils. Tailong, thanks to his past training in the Clear Sky Sect, had reached an impressive Level 38, second only to Dai Mubai.

Yu Xiaogang sat among the group, his expression troubled. What was he supposed to do now? He had assumed that with his unparalleled theoretical knowledge as a Grandmaster, the Shrek Seven Devils would at least reach the Soul Ancestor level, or at the very least, high-tier Soul Grandmaster. Yet, aside from Dai Mubai, Tang San, and Xiao Wu, only Oscar had reached mid-tier Soul Grandmaster, while the rest remained at the low-tier level.

With such combat strength, forget reaching the top three in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament—just making it to the finals in Spirit City was already a major concern.

As for Jing Ling, Huang Yuan, Tailong, and Jiangzhu, their spirit power levels were decent, but since Yu Xiaogang wasn't their instructor, he wouldn't gain much reputation from their performance.

Despite living in isolation for twenty years, Yu Xiaogang had heard about the tournament in his youth. The Spirit Hall team consisted entirely of Soul Ancestors, with at least one Soul King. The Heaven Dou Empire's Four Elemental Academies boasted at least two Soul Ancestors, while the rest were high-tier Soul Grandmasters.

The power gap was simply too vast.

"Xiaogang." Flender looked at Yu Xiaogang's troubled expression and sighed. He understood all too well how desperately Yu Xiaogang wanted to prove himself. In truth, he shared the same desire. After all, the humiliation inflicted upon their Golden Iron Triangle by Qian Xunji still remained fresh in his memory.

Tang San occasionally glanced at Yu Xiaogang, a cold glint of killing intent flickering in his eyes. The Heaven Dou First Team had a guaranteed spot in the finals at Spirit City, which meant that Shrek had to fight their way there as well—only then would he have a chance to face them again. He had to avenge Xiao Wu. The Heaven Dou Team had beaten her to the brink of death, and he would make them pay.

Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing exchanged a look, their eyes filled with pain. The Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament was their last chance to turn the tide. If they failed to reach the finals and face Dei Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun, they would have no claim to the throne. If they returned home empty-handed, execution was inevitable.

A trace of despair flickered in Zhu Zhuqing's eyes. Two years ago, when she had fled, Zhu Zhuyun had already attempted to assassinate her. Even back then, Zhu Zhuyun had already broken through to the Soul Ancestor level. Given her current progress, even if she somehow reached the finals, she wouldn't stand a chance. In fact, she wasn't even confident in defeating the Zhu Zhuyun of two years ago.

Ning Rongrong, on the other hand, remained indifferent. As a direct descendant of one of the Three Upper Sects and a support-type soul master, her future was already set in stone. With her talent, reaching Level 79 and achieving the peak of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda was a certainty. The Soul Master Tournament was nothing more than entertainment to her. She was more concerned about returning to the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect to meet Sword Douluo, Bone Douluo, and Ning Fengzhi. More importantly, she wanted to find out whether her grandfather and father had tracked down the person who dared to slap her. She would have her revenge.

Oscar and Xiao Wu didn't seem particularly interested in the tournament either. Their eyes were fixed solely on Ning Rongrong (Tang San).

Ma Hongjun, on the other hand, was burning with pent-up Evil Fire. He had set his sights on Jiangzhu, hoping to "relieve" himself. His hands were going numb, his waist was getting stiff, and his skills were growing rusty.

In the shadows, Tang Hao silently observed his son. Seeing the flashes of killing intent in Tang San's eyes, he frowned slightly and muttered, "It seems that losing to the Emperor Team in Soto City has had a significant impact on him. If he can't defeat them in this tournament—or at least defeat the team that defeated them—this lingering resentment may fester into a heart demon, affecting his future cultivation."

Tang Hao then turned his gaze in the direction of the Clear Sky Sect and let out a sigh. "Looks like I'll have to ask my elder brother for help again. I wonder if he's found the Broken Intestine Flower, the one that can conceal Xiao Wu's soul beast aura."
