Douluo: Infinite Lottery System

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: I will only support you

As they entered the Spirit Arena, Xiao Tianyang and Zhu Zhuqing stepped onto the stage.

Just before the match began, Xiao Tianyang turned to Zhu Zhuqing and said, "Wait a moment. You'll be the main attacker this time. I'll support you."

Zhu Zhuqing paused, then turned to look at him. "I want to win."

"Don't worry, nothing will go wrong. I guarantee you'll win," Xiao Tianyang reassured her with a smile. "Besides, if I take action, what's the point of our team?"

Though his words were a bit blunt, Zhu Zhuqing understood the truth behind them. "I Understand," she said, stepping in front of Xiao Tianyang.

"That's the spirit," Xiao Tianyang replied, glancing at their opponents. The opposing team consisted of a burly man and a petite woman with a hint of baby fat on her face.

After a moment of observation, Xiao Tianyang said, "This is a combination of a control system and an agility-assault-system soul master. Their strategy is likely to control one of us while quickly taking out the other. How do you think we should handle this?"

"Deal with the control-system soul master first," Zhu Zhuqing decided.

"Good decision," Xiao Tianyang agreed with a nod.

Before they could strategize further, their opponents made the first move.

"First Soul Skill, Earth Rock Protrusion!" the burly man roared.

A massive stone pillar appeared behind him, accompanied by two soul rings—one white and one yellow.

He slammed his fist into the ground, and several stone pillars erupted diagonally from the ground, attempting to trap Xiao Tianyang and Zhu Zhuqing.

"First Soul Skill, Quick Kill!" the woman shouted. Her martial soul was a hummingbird, granting her incredible speed.

Her two soul rings, both yellow, glowed as she darted forward.

Xiao Tianyang stood calmly, his hands behind his back, holding the Fused Flame.

His first soul ring lit up, and four green flames shot into Zhu Zhuqing's body.

Instantly, Zhu Zhuqing felt her senses enhanced. The woman's movements, which had been a blur, now seemed to move in slow motion. She could even see every flaw in the man's defense.

"What a powerful ability," Zhu Zhuqing thought, glancing at the green flames enveloping her hands.

"Let's go. This state won't last long with your current physique," Xiao Tianyang reminded her.

Zhu Zhuqing nodded. The Hell Spirit Cat, accompanied by two yellow soul rings, appeared behind her. Her hands grew sharp claws, her left eye turned dark green, and her right eye glowed blue. Her hair flowed softly behind her as she prepared to strike.

"First Soul Skill: Hell Rush Stab!"

Zhu Zhuqing bent her legs slightly, then shot forward like a shadow.

As she passed the woman, she lightly tapped her, causing the woman to stagger mid-air with a look of shock. But Zhu Zhuqing didn't stop. She appeared in front of the man.

"Second Soul Skill, Gravity Delay!" the man tried to counter, but he was too slow. Zhu Zhuqing's claws slashed across his chest, leaving deep marks.

"Second Soul Skill, Hell Hundred Claws!" Zhu Zhuqing spun rapidly, her claws striking the same spot on the man's back precisely. With a loud thud, the man was sent flying, landing hard on the ground, his back bloodied.

"A Tao!" the woman screamed, rushing toward her fallen teammate.

"It's just a surface wound. He'll recover in a few days," Xiao Tianyang said calmly, his voice reaching the woman's ears and calming her slightly.

"But the match isn't over yet. It's not wise to let your guard down," Xiao Tianyang added.

The woman snapped back to reality, but before she could react, Zhu Zhuqing's claws struck her back.

The agility-attack-system soul master's physique wasn't as sturdy as the control-system soul master's, and the woman collapsed, unconscious.

The host, momentarily stunned, quickly announced, "Congratulations to Team Tianqing for their victory!"

At the same time, Xiao Tianyang received a system notification:

"Congratulations to the host for defeating two level 20 soul masters. Lottery value increased by x25."

The audience erupted into cheers. Though the battle had been short, it was thrilling to watch. However, most of the attention was on Xiao Tianyang, whose purple and black soul rings were impossible to ignore.

Zhu Zhuqing, ignoring the crowd, walked slowly toward Xiao Tianyang. "It was easier than I expected," she said.

Xiao Tianyang smiled. "Of course."

But as soon as she reached him, Zhu Zhuqing's legs gave out, and she collapsed forward. Xiao Tianyang caught her with one hand, muttering, "I knew your body couldn't handle this kind of enhancement. Tsk."

Zhu Zhuqing wasn't fully unconscious, just weak and dizzy. "Why is this happening?" she asked faintly.

"You're overexerted," Xiao Tianyang explained, half-carrying her off the stage. "The four flames I gave you enhanced your reflexes, coordination, heart rate, and strength. Your body just couldn't handle it all at once."

"How long will it take for me to recover?" Zhu Zhuqing asked, her face flushing red.

Xiao Tianyang, not noticing her embarrassment, replied, "You'll be fine in a bit. This kind of overexertion is temporary. Your body just needs to adjust. But next time, it won't be as bad."

Zhu Zhuqing nodded weakly, her voice barely audible. "Okay."

Unbeknownst to Xiao Tianyang, someone was watching him closely. In the VIP room, the young man had rushed to the next match out of curiosity.

He had seen Xiao Tianyang use his soul ring to amplify Zhu Zhuqing's strength, and now he was even more intrigued.

'His Thousand-year soul skills are so versatile. What kind of power must his second soul skill hold?' the young man murmured to himself. 'How many secrets are you hiding?'

"Your Highness," a voice interrupted his thoughts.

The young man turned to see Bishop Jacko. "Did you find anything?" he asked.

Bishop Jacko wiped the sweat from his brow. "Nothing yet, but I'm certain this young man has never been to the Spirit Hall."

"Never been to the Spirit Hall? Then how did his martial soul awaken?" the young man wondered aloud, his gaze returning to Xiao Tianyang. "Could he be a disciple of a major sect?"

"Most likely," Bishop Jacko agreed.

"Keep investigating. If you can't find anything, start with the people around him," the young man ordered. "But remember, don't cause any trouble."

"Understood," Bishop Jacko replied, relieved.
