Douluo Dalu: My System Is Dissatisfied

Chapter 64: Chapter 64

Chapter 64: King of the Forest, Titan Ape

"Ten thousand years?"

Zhao Wuji was stunned and looked at Xiao Wu in disbelief. But then, remembering that her third spirit ring was already at 8,000 years, his shock quickly faded.

If her third ring was already pushing the limit, then demanding 10,000 years for her fourth wasn't completely unreasonable.

In fact, if Xiao Wu could condense her fourth spirit ring through meditation, she was confident it would naturally reach the 10,000-year level.

Zhao Wuji turned to Ye Feng and asked, "What about you, little monster?"

Little Monster.

Tang San's heart tensed at Zhao Wuji's words.

Shrek Academy was known for producing monsters, not ordinary people. But out of all of them, Zhao Wuji had only called Ye Feng a little monster.

Tang San clenched his fists slightly. He wasn't exactly jealous, but deep down, he felt a strong urge to surpass Ye Feng one day.

Ye Feng replied casually, "I'm aiming for a 30,000-year fifth spirit ring."

"THIRTY THOUSAND YEARS?!"

Zhao Wuji froze in place, his face a mix of shock and disbelief.

The recommended limit for a fifth spirit ring was 12,000 years. Anything beyond that was practically suicidal.

If Ye Feng's fourth spirit ring wasn't already at 10,000 years, Zhao Wuji would've scolded the hell out of him for being too reckless.

Ye Feng raised an eyebrow. "Something wrong, Teacher Zhao?"

Zhao Wuji sighed, then reached out and patted Ye Feng's shoulder. "No problem. I'm a Spirit Saint, so a 30,000-year spirit beast shouldn't be impossible. But Ye Feng… did your teacher give you any specific requirements for your fifth spirit ring?"

Zhao Wuji clearly remembered that Chen Xin had shown up at Shrek Academy that night. And according to Ning Rongrong, Ye Feng's teacher was none other than Chen Xin himself.

A teacher's expectations were usually very strict, and Zhao Wuji did not want to mess with Chen Xin, especially since the man was a battle-crazed lunatic who could challenge anyone at any time.

Ye Feng grinned. "Nah, my master doesn't have any special requirements. He just hopes my fifth spirit ring will give me a control-type skill different from my first four or some kind of auxiliary ability."

"That's all?" Zhao Wuji asked.

"Yep."

"Good." Zhao Wuji chuckled.

But suddenly, his expression darkened, and an immense pressure exploded from his body. With a deep growl, he summoned his martial spirit, and the massive King Kong Bear instantly appeared.

"Teacher Zhao, what's wrong?!" Dai Mubai quickly ran to his side.

"Brother?" Xiao Wu's voice was soft but alert.

Ye Feng stepped closer to Xiao Wu. With the Hell's Eye, he could clearly see a massive creature approaching them.

Lowering his voice so only Xiao Wu could hear, he whispered, "Your chance is here."

Xiao Wu's eyes flashed with realization. She glanced at Ye Feng, quickly catching on.

"Brother, you mean…?"

Ye Feng smirked. "Life is a performance. It's all about acting skills. Make sure you put on a good show."

Xiao Wu took a deep breath, then nodded.

She had been waiting for a chance to leave the team and condense her fourth spirit ring on her own. And now, with the Titan Ape coming, wasn't this the perfect opportunity?

A few moments later, in the direction where Zhao Wuji, Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Ye Feng were looking, two enormous trees suddenly parted as a massive figure emerged from the shadows.

At that moment, everyone except Ye Feng and Xiao Wu felt their breath catch in their throats.

It was a mountain of a beast, its dark fur glistening under the dim light. Despite walking on all fours, its shoulders alone were over seven meters wide. If it stood upright, it would likely exceed fifteen meters in height.

Its appearance resembled an ape or gorilla, but apart from its golden, lantern-like eyes, its body seemed to merge with the night itself.

The King of the Forest—Titan Ape.

The Titan Ape was an absolute powerhouse. Not only was its body enormous, but every inch of it was packed with rock-solid muscles, each one more terrifying than stone itself.

"The King of the Forest… Titan Ape." Tang San's voice trembled, a trace of panic creeping in.

Titan Apes were true overlords. Even a 100-year-old Titan Ape could fight against 10,000-year-old spirit beasts. They possessed unparalleled strength and speed, with no obvious weaknesses. The scariest part? They could use abilities similar to spirit skills.

Even though Zhao Wuji was a Spirit Saint above level 70, he could barely hide his fear.

With a deep breath, he lowered his posture and spoke cautiously, "Respected King of the Forest, we have no intention of offending you. If this is your territory, we'll leave immediately."

He knew his words probably wouldn't work, but it was worth a try.

ROAR!

The Titan Ape let out a deafening roar, and the force of its voice sent a powerful gust of wind blasting through the group.

Zhu Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong, and Ma Hongjun were almost knocked off their feet.

Zhao Wuji's face darkened. Gritting his teeth, he commanded, "I'll hold it back. Oscar, use your third spirit skill and get everyone out of here! I won't last long, so move fast!"

Seventh Spirit Skill—Mighty King Kong Bear's True Form!

Knowing that he had no chance of winning, Zhao Wuji immediately activated his strongest transformation to boost his attributes.

ROAR!

But the Titan Ape wasn't listening. As soon as it saw Xiao Wu trying to leave, it immediately attacked.

With just one punch, the Titan Ape sent Zhao Wuji flying.

Ma Hongjun's eyes widened. "We can't just leave him! Attack!"

SWOOSH!

As soon as Ma Hongjun spoke, Ye Feng, Tang San, Zhu Zhuqing, Dai Mubai, Oscar, Ning Rongrong, and Xiao Wu launched an all-out assault on the Titan Ape.

But…

It was the King of the Forest.

In just a few moves, the Titan Ape sent them all crashing to the ground.

Ye Feng's eyes flickered. "Now!" he whispered to Xiao Wu.

SWOOSH!

Xiao Wu leapt into the air, aiming straight for the Titan Ape.

The Titan Ape raised its hand, cooperating as it grabbed her mid-air.

"XIAO WU!"

Ye Feng shouted urgently and immediately flew toward her on his sword.

But the Titan Ape was prepared. It swung its massive palm, sending Ye Feng crashing into the ground.

At the same time, Xiao Wu whispered something to the Titan Ape, and after a brief pause, the massive beast turned and walked away obediently.

PUFF!

Ye Feng spat out a mouthful of blood, watching as the Titan Ape disappeared into the night with Xiao Wu.

His vision blurred, and as he collapsed, only one thought remained in his mind:

"Damn… the fake became real."
