Douluo Dalu: From Shinobi to Spirit Master

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Millennium Soul Beast

When the white-haired figure disappeared into the jungle, Ju Douluo and Ghost Douluo still hadn't recovered from their shock.

The silence in the clearing was deafening. Both titled Douluo stood frozen, their mouths slightly agape in disbelief.

They had considered many possibilities—Su Chen fleeing after being injured, Su Chen barely holding out against the soul beast—but they had never imagined this outcome.

That a fifty-year-old soul beast, powerful and deadly, had been slain by that child was beyond comprehension.

"This... this beast is dead?"

After a long pause, Yue Guan broke the silence, pointing to the mess left behind with trembling fingers.

"Just like that? Killed with a dagger and some wire?" His voice was incredulous. "Am I seeing things, or was that not actually a soul beast? Was it just some ordinary animal?"

As a titled Douluo, Yue Guan had witnessed countless battles, yet this scene was utterly baffling. It was like watching a rabbit take down a tiger.

Ghost Douluo took a deep breath to calm his racing thoughts. Beneath his ghostly mask, his eyes were filled with complex emotions as he stared into the jungle where Su Chen had disappeared.

"No, you didn't see it wrong," he finally said, his tone grave. "He used provocation to enrage the Silverback Gorilla, forcing it to continuously use soul skills and deplete its energy. With precision, he attached soul power to his feet to move effortlessly through the trees. His dagger strikes weren't random—they were aimed at the beast's weakest points. By the time it realized what was happening, it had already lost too much blood."

He paused, as if replaying the scene in his mind.

"Even when the soul beast was on the brink of death, he didn't relax. He exploited its violent temperament to lure it into a fatal mistake. Every step in his plan was calculated, flawless. If that were a human opponent..." Ghost Douluo trailed off.

Yue Guan understood the unspoken conclusion. His lips trembled as he muttered, "This is terrifying. Can a six-year-old child really achieve this? Old Ghost, when we were six..."

He turned his gaze to Yan, who was cowering in the distance, still terrified of an ordinary wild beast. Then, his eyes shifted to Su Chen, who had taken down a fifty-year-old soul beast and remained calm and composed. Yue Guan let out a bitter laugh.

"Is the gap between people really this vast?"

Su Chen moved silently through the jungle, his pale white eyes scanning his surroundings. Though visibility was low due to the dense canopy, his Byakugan revealed every detail.

Still, something felt off.

A faint white mist had appeared, carrying an oddly pleasant fragrance. His steps slowed instinctively, his body crouching into a combat stance like a predator preparing to strike.

Suddenly, a soft buzz reached his ears. Alarm bells rang in his mind. Without hesitation, Su Chen pulled the blood-colored wire he had set up earlier and leapt away.

Bang!

A sharp wooden spike shot out from where he had just stood, shattering a nearby rock into pieces.

Su Chen landed on a treetop, his breathing slightly heavier as he glanced at his torn sleeve. A moment slower, and it wouldn't have been his clothes with holes—it would've been his body.

"What's going on? My Byakugan didn't detect this?" he muttered, his brows furrowing.

The ground beneath him began to shake violently. Trees toppled as the earth roiled. Su Chen jumped between branches to keep his balance, his Byakugan activating fully.

Then, he saw it.

A massive soul beast emerged from the chaos. Its form was both majestic and grotesque—resembling a cross between a dragon and a silkworm. Over twenty meters long, its body glowed with an emerald light. A single horn jutted from its forehead, while countless root-like tendrils extended from its lower body, connecting it to the surrounding trees.

Its emerald eyes locked onto Su Chen, filled with greed and hunger, as if he were a delicacy waiting to be devoured.

"It wasn't that I didn't notice anything," Su Chen realized, his heart pounding. "This thing was camouflaged, perfectly blending with the tree roots..."

Another buzz sounded. Su Chen pulled the wire again, narrowly avoiding another wooden spike. This time, the attack struck a snake-like soul beast lurking nearby, killing it instantly.

He glanced at the soul ring emerging from the fallen beast—dark yellow, proof of a century-old soul beast.

"If this monster can kill a hundred-year-old soul beast so easily..." Su Chen's expression turned grim. "Then it's at least—"

Boom!

The ground trembled as the massive beast moved, sending birds scattering.

"A Millennium Soul Beast!"

Elsewhere, Yan tumbled from a tree, his pale face filled with terror. "Don't eat me! Don't eat me!" he cried, hiding in the bushes. He only dared to peek out once the shaking stopped.

Xie Yue, who had been fending off another soul beast, was distracted by the commotion. A sharp claw raked across his back, drawing blood.

"Damn it!" he cursed, gritting his teeth as he continued to evade his pursuer.

Hu Liena, still searching for her target, froze when she felt the tremors. Her beautiful eyes filled with worry. "That came from Su Chen's direction..."

The vibrations reached Ju Douluo and Ghost Douluo, interrupting their conversation.

"Something's happened to Su Chen!" Yue Guan exclaimed, his expression shifting from disbelief to urgency.

He turned toward the source of the commotion, his face pale. "No... why is it that monster?!"
