Chapter 257: Chapter 238: Great Beasts' Meeting
In the deepest part of the core region of the Great Star Dou Forest, a large group of soul beasts gathered together—the youngest being 100,000 years old.
They grouped together in a circle, with the strongest of them in the center, their collective aura radiating undulations of intense soul power and dominance.
These weren't just any ordinary soul beasts; for one, they all looked human! However, none of the soul beasts behind the 'humans' made a move on them, actually, they stared at them in awe and respect.
They were all sitting around a wooden oblong table, six chairs for six Great Beasts of the Great Star Dou Forest!
"Well? Why were we gathered here for?" A middle aged man asked with a pale white skin complexion, wearing a dark muddy robe. His eyes are a deep jade-green that could penetrate through one's soul; a jade-green glow shines amidst this depth and serenity.
Ranked 5th of the Top Ten Great Beasts — Myriad Demon King!
Behind him were surprisingly various plants and trees, this group had the least number amongst other groups of soul beasts behind the Great Beasts and are mostly made up of the weakest and youngest of them all.
"Just sit there quietly and be patient." Said coldly by a beautiful woman with long purple-black hair, her exquisite face was exceedingly charming with her deep purple eyes. Unlike the other great beasts, her humanoid transformation wasn't complete—
Her entire body was covered in purple-black scales. She had a slender figure with perfect, round breasts and long legs. The upper part of her chest was bared to reveal her snowy white skin and a deep cleavage between her breasts. An ink-black scale on her forehead rippled with layers of purple radiance streaming forth to the top of her head.
Ranked 9th of the Top Ten Great Beasts — Hell Demon Dragon King!
The soul beasts behind her were mostly of subspecies of Dragons or those who possess a dragon bloodline, unfortunately however, almost all True Dragons have perished and most of the gathered soul beasts behind her were Land Dragons—dragons without wings, considered to be the inferior beings of the Dragon Hierarchy.
The Myriad Demon King snorted and didn't argue with her. Amongst their group, he was considered to be the second calmest and the wisest. He long since understood the dynamics of the group—
and the Hell Demon Dragon King had the second shortest temper among them. He simply didn't want to get involved in some unnecessary fight.
But that didn't mean someone else wouldn't.
"Nah, Myriad Demon King has a point! We've got a shit ton to do, he can't just call in a meeting everytime he wants to talk about some stuff that doesn't really matter." Said by a tall, middle-aged man with tanned skin and muscular body that looked as if blades would break when struck. His eyes seem like emotionless yellow crystals.
Ranked 6th on the Top Ten Great Beasts — Bear Lord!
Although he was ranked lower than the Myriad Demon King, in truth, he was much stronger than him and is the indisputable second strongest soul beast in the forest—which is why he had the second largest amount of subordinates, most of whom were bear-type soul beasts.
"Huh? You wanna start a fight?!" The Hell Demon Dragon King scowled, slamming a fist on the table, her deep purple eyes shone a hint of red.
The Bear Lord smirked arrogantly, "Gladly, number 9." When he lifts his hand, the terrifying, sharp, dark golden blades extended out.
"Hmph. That ranking was generated by the humans, it doesn't prove anything!"
"Then prove them wrong." Bear Lord laughed and stood up from his seat, a wide bloodthirsty grin on his face.
The Hell Demon Dragon King was about to stand up as well, when an overwhelming pressure descended on her, freezing her in place. Her face paling.
"Guh....!" The Bear Lord felt, if not double, the pressure she was experiencing as well and placed both hands on the table.
"Enough of this tomfoolery." A deep, cold voice interrupted, echoing through the clearing like the tolling of a death knell. Every soul beast in the circle fell silent as the words reverberated against the ancient trees—inciting absolute silence.
Every eyes went towards the figure sitting calmly, with no soul beast behind him except the large lake that was the center of the Great Star Dou Forest.
He is a handsome middle-aged man in a black robe with golden lines who possesses black hair with one golden strand hanging, sharp deep golden pupil eyes, with an at least 2 meter height body and broad shoulders.
He exuded a cold yet noble mannerism that those ignorant of his true identity would mistake him for a great noble human.
However, none of the Great Beasts looked down on him for his appearance or the lack of soul beasts behind him—for the truth of the matter was, every soul beasts in the forest was his subordinate!
Ranked 1st in the Top Ten Great Beasts — Beast God, Di Tian! The strongest soul beast publicly known in the world.
"Bi Ji, step forward."
"Yes, Your Grace." A stunningly beautiful lady stood up, exuding a gentle and kind presence that made almost soul beasts in the vicinity calmed down upon seeing her.
Except for the Hell Demon Dragon King, who clicked her tongue upon seeing her. A look of annoyance flickered across her eyes.
She has long jade-green hair was draped behind her head. Her eyes were also jade-green, and her figure was long and slender, while her long light green dress brought out her slender figure perfectly. And surprisingly, for such a beautiful and gentle woman, who seemed like the type who doesn't specialized in fighting, she had the largest group with various types of soul beasts gathered behind her.
Ranked 4th in the Top Ten Great Beasts — Emerald Swan, Bi Ji.
She was known as the kindest soul beast in the Great Star Dou Forest and even someone like the Bear Lord, the most impulsive of them all, would calm down out of respect for her. The reason for that is because she's the best healing-type soul beast in the whole forest, in fact, almost all of the soul beasts in the core region owed a great debt to her for saving their lives at one point of their life.
Bi Ji faintly smiled and said, "Everyone, please listen. We have gathered here not merely to bicker amongst ourselves, but to help each other. Di Tian and I have found something—a new land beyond this continent! A land that would not only yield a bountiful harvest of cultivation resources, but also grant our kind an opportunity to grow stronger than ever."
Her voice, gentle yet resolute, carried across the silent assembly. "Imagine it—a continent solely for soul beasts! Given enough time, we would not only surpass the humans in strength and cultivation, but we might even attain that elusive dream—immortality. What once seemed a delusion may become our reality."
The eyes of the Great Beasts and others widened in astonishment and excitement. A new continent! A new land for them to wander freely and cultivate peacefully without fear of being hunted down by soul masters! It sounded like paradise....
"Wait, what about the natives there? Wouldn't we encounter some difficulties?" Said by a middle aged man with fiery red hair, muscular and strangely has three eyes.
Ranked 8th in the Top Ten Great Beasts — Scarlet King, leader of all Canine-type soul beasts.
Bi Ji replied, "We did some early reconnaissance and found that the strongest powerhouses there are a few hundred thousand year old soul beasts and Soul Douluos."
Bear Lord and a few soul beasts narrowed their eyes, and he said what was in their minds. "There are humans in this new land?"
Bi Ji sighed deeply, having already expected such a question. "Yes, there are. However! They are weak, very weak and their technology is thousands of years behind this continent."
Bear Lord smirked. "So they're easy prey."
Bi Ji's eyes sharpened. "You are not to lead a massacre on those humans."
"Bi Ji—!"
"No. Bear Lord, everyone else. I understand your hatred towards humans, but we are not mindless, bloodthirsty beasts! We may be beasts by nature, but we have intelligence, wisdom, and honor! If we go there as conquerors, we wouldn't be any different as the humans."
The Bear Lord clicked his tongue, knowing he wouldn't be able to change her mind. He glanced at Di Tian, and since he didn't say anything about it—that meant that he was on board with Bi Ji.
"Then what do you suggest we do with them?"
Bi Ji explained, "Simple. Just like how we'll get to that continent."
The Myriad Demon King raised an eyebrow. "Well, how do we actually get to that continent anyway?"
"I'll explain." Di Tian spoke once more. He opened his mouth to explain, when—
Boom!
All soul beasts' eyes widened in shock and they all subconsciously shivered upon sensing tht familiar, chilling sensation.
Di Tian abruptly stood up, his eyes narrowed.
"A Heavenly Tribulation... it's in the outer region? And it's at the level of a Great Beast's! Who is breaking through right there? Are they courting death?!"
In an area of the outer region, where dark clouds and powerful bolts of purple lightning flickering.
A lone, heavily injured young man; completely charred black with flickers of multicolored electricity around him stood still at the bottom of a large crater.
"Ahh..." Huo Yuhao took in a raspy, desperate breath in.
His crispy blackened eyelids slowly opened—revealing completely blood-red eyes that seemed to reveal no semblance of desiring to live anymore.
But why was his right arm still raised? Simple—
He wasn't going to give up.
His soul power flared to life; a blueish aura surrounding his body and an emerald aura started to intertwined—his regeneration kicking in.
"With the right... requirements...." Huo Yuhao began fo mutter, his upper body healing first. "Even I...can control the heavens!"
Thunder rumbled once more, deep purple lightning bolts flickered—the aura of destruction was evident.
This would be the final and most destructive heavenly lightning.
'Would Kirin really work?' Huo Yuhao was having doubtful thoughts, wryly smiling when he felt the destructive prowess of the heavenly lightning.
'Is this really the end...?'
