Chapter 25: Chapter 24: Tang Ya Falls for Qian Ran? Bei Bei’s Fury
"Tang Ya, what's been going on with you lately?" In the fourth-year area of the outer courtyard, Bei Bei looked anxiously at Tang Ya, who stood before him, as beautiful as ever.
Recently, Tang Ya had changed significantly—her entire aura was different, sharper and more intense. If she used to come across as sweet and gentle, now she seemed to be transforming into someone far more mature and strong.
Since her Dark Blue Silver Grass had become an offensive-type spirit, Tang Ya's entire aura had shifted. Even though the dark energy didn't influence her mind, it had visibly altered her demeanor.
The change in her attitude towards Bei Bei troubled him most of all.
Lately, Tang Ya had been distant, treating him with cool indifference, and this made Bei Bei feel uneasy.
In the past, even though Tang Ya hadn't openly accepted his advances, she hadn't outright rejected him either. To him, it had always felt like it was just a matter of time before she reciprocated. Now, though, she seemed further away than ever.
These days, he'd watched her transformation closely but couldn't understand why she seemed so different.
"Bei Bei, I… I think you should stop spending so much time on me. There's no future for us." Tang Ya's beautiful eyes sparkled with a new resolve. Right now, she only had eyes for one person.
Despite his younger age, she had fallen hopelessly in love with Qian Ran.
Ever since Qian Ran entered her life, she had come to understand what true love felt like. Loving someone meant thinking about them constantly, feeling restless whenever they weren't around, and always yearning to see them again.
This was something she had never felt with Bei Bei.
She didn't love Bei Bei; she only had a sense of friendship for him. It was only recently that she realized she truly liked Qian Ran.
Hearing Tang Ya's words hit Bei Bei like a thunderbolt, leaving him standing there, lost and stunned.
He couldn't believe his worst fears were coming true.
Was Tang Ya really rejecting him? Why? Was he not worthy of her?
"Did I do something wrong, Tang Ya? Tell me, and I'll change. I can't lose you," he pleaded.
Tang Ya's gaze softened. If Qian Ran weren't in the picture, she might indeed have ended up with Bei Bei. But now, her heart belonged to Qian Ran. The time she spent with him in recent days had deepened her feelings for him.
At first, she didn't fully realize it, but over time, she became aware that Qian Ran had quietly been making subtle advances.
Even after she figured it out, she hadn't stopped him; instead, she found herself drawn into that exciting feeling of anticipation.
She knew she couldn't live without Qian Ran anymore.
Every time he made a move, she would sneak glances at his reactions, taking pleasure in his frustration and delighting in his interest.
She couldn't betray her heart. Besides, Qian Ran had already touched her, and in that moment, she'd made up her mind—if it wasn't Qian Ran, it would be no one, not even Bei Bei.
"I already have someone I like, so it's impossible between us." Tang Ya smiled bitterly. She'd decided that next time she saw Qian Ran, she'd tell him how she felt. That way, he wouldn't have to hide his feelings anymore.
"Someone you like?"
"Who is it? I don't believe it! You're lying, right?" Bei Bei's face went pale as he realized that the person he loved had fallen for someone else. How could he not feel betrayed? Everyone in the outer courtyard knew of his pursuit of Tang Ya. Who would dare come between them?
From the moment he entered the academy, Tang Ya had been the only one for him.
Was he truly not good enough? Was there anyone at Shrek Academy better than him?
Bei Bei's heart was breaking.
"It's him, isn't it? Qian Ran! It must be him! You've been different ever since he showed up. He must have done something to you," Bei Bei's expression turned cold.
In his eyes, Tang Ya couldn't have changed so suddenly. If her feelings toward him had shifted, he could accept that, but everything from her power to her aura had transformed, and she now exuded an intimidating energy.
Tang Ya must've been affected somehow, and Qian Ran was to blame.
"Bei Bei, calm down. You have so much to offer. So many girls like you—why waste time on me?" Tang Ya's face grew tense. She was worried Bei Bei would go after Qian Ran.
Even though Qian Ran was incredibly talented, he was still only a first-year student, while Bei Bei was a fourth-year.
Bei Bei's strength was among the top in the outer courtyard, and he could easily defeat students several years above him.
"So, you're afraid I'll hurt him?"
Bei Bei's heart ached when he saw the worry in Tang Ya's eyes as she spoke of Qian Ran.
Did Tang Ya really care about him that much?
"Please, Bei Bei, don't do anything rash." Tang Ya tried her best not to aggravate him.
"Oh, so you don't want me to go after him? Well, that just makes me want to all the more. Some freshman has dared to come after me. Does he think he can get away with it?" Bei Bei clenched his fists and stormed off.
"This is bad," Tang Ya muttered, hurrying toward Qian Ran's dorm.
In the boys' dormitory, Qian Ran was lying on the bed with Wang Dong'er in his arms. They lay together, listening to each other's breaths and heartbeats, drawing closer than ever before.
Then, Qian Ran heard angry shouting coming from outside, and he recognized Bei Bei's voice calling his name.
"What did you do this time?" Wang Dong'er asked, her eyes wide with disbelief. Who was causing trouble with Qian Ran?
What had he gotten himself into? He was only a freshman, after all!
"How would I know?"
Had Bei Bei found out?
Qian Ran felt a bit awkward. When he first helped Tang Ya, he'd only meant to enjoy the view. But then he couldn't resist a light touch, and then maybe a little squeeze...
The three-step plan.
When things fall apart, everyone bears some responsibility.
In the end, he hadn't held himself back.
But could anyone really stay calm when such a beautiful woman was right there, lying so peacefully? With such a sight, who could resist? But he wasn't totally shameless—he'd only gotten bold when he noticed her growing feelings for him.
How had Bei Bei found out, though? Had he checked the hotel records to see that he and Tang Ya had shared a room?
Well, so be it. It was time to make things clear with Bei Bei, so he'd finally stop pursuing Tang Ya.
