Douluo : Capture the goddess starting from peerless tang sect

Chapter 24: Chapter 23: Wang Dong'er’s Selfless Devotion, Qian Ran Is Moved

No one knew how long the intimate moment lasted before the affectionate atmosphere gradually faded.

Qian Ran returned to a state of calm, gazing at the beautiful girl nestled in his arms with deep appreciation.

"I told you not to push yourself," he murmured, gently running his fingers through Wang Dong'er's soft pink-and-blue hair, breathing in her light fragrance. It felt surreal that such a stunning girl would go out of her way for him.

Wang Dong'er's beauty was sacred, yet here he was, trampling all over it.

Though, honestly, it felt incredible.

"You said you were uncomfortable," she replied softly, feeling that her actions were worthwhile. At least she could see how much he cared. As long as he held her close in his heart, she hadn't given her affection in vain.

This was her first time showing this level of affection to a boy.

For now, she could only express her love with words and gestures, unable to go further.

"How are you feeling now? I'm sorry for being a bit rough," Qian Ran noticed that her voice was a bit hoarse, and her previously flawless neck bore faint marks from his touch. He felt a pang of guilt for letting himself get carried away.

Near the end, he had lost all control.

There was little room for reason when a man was overcome with such passion.

Qian Ran caressed Wang Dong'er's porcelain face and her elegant neck, admiring her like a priceless work of art.

Soft and beautiful, he couldn't help pressing a kiss on her collarbone.

Faced with her beauty, he only wanted to abandon all restraint.

But now, he found it hard to act on his desire. Her feelings for him were fierce and genuine, while his own emotions tended to drift toward infatuation.

"It's alright. If it's for you, it's worth it. It wasn't great, but since it was from you…" she whispered, blushing deeply.

"It's just that my throat feels sticky, and I need to rinse it out." Wang Dong'er, still flushed, got up and went to rinse her mouth.

After filling a cup with water, she began to swish it around, intending to spit it out, but for some reason, she swallowed it instead.

The taste made her blush even harder, her face and ears turning bright red.

She'd heard that guys appreciated it when their partners swallowed, that it made them happy.

She didn't know why she did it, but she knew Qian Ran was pleased.

"This is so embarrassing… I can't believe I did that. What if he thinks I'm easy?" Staring at her reflection, she suddenly felt anxious.

She didn't want him to misjudge her—she was only like this with him.

She couldn't explain why, but she wanted to make him happy. She was willing to do anything if it meant seeing his smile.

They say people always act in their own interest, but why was she willing to sacrifice her pride for his happiness?

Maybe this is what real love feels like.

When you're truly in love, your partner's joy becomes your own, their sadness hurts you just as much.

"Stop overthinking. I know you're not like that. My Dong'er is the sweetest girl in the world." Qian Ran's voice brought her back, and she felt him hugging her from behind, their cheeks pressed together in an intimate gesture.

"Hmmph. You'd better remember what you just said. Guys are always full of empty promises," she teased, but couldn't hide her smile. She was happy, despite her suspicions that his popularity with girls might eventually make him forget her.

"Of course I'll remember you," he chuckled.

They spent the rest of the day entangled together, savoring each other's presence in every way short of crossing the final boundary.

Wang Dong'er had completely captivated him.

Now, she was pure, untarnished by the past or future. Her personality had always been wonderful, unlike the mixed reviews that Tang Wutong, her later incarnation, would inspire. Everything changed after Tang San's reappearance, shifting her whole persona.

Qian Ran silently vowed to keep Tang San's influence away from her.

Tang San's twisted worldview wasn't going to harm Dong'er this time.

She was precious just as she was. Without Tang San's interference, she might've been the perfect heroine in Peerless Tang Sect, or at the very least a good one.

He wouldn't let anyone ruin her this time.

And he had similar plans for Qiu'er. In the original story, Tang San had sacrificed her for convenience, with the flimsy explanation that Qiu'er was somehow part of Huo Yuhao. As if he had the power to create divine beasts! Even the Goddess of Life might not have the ability to create something as advanced as a mythical beast, so who was Tang San to pull that off? At best, he might've infused Qiu'er with a fragment of Wang Dong'er's soul.

And Huo Yuhao had gone along with it.

Right, he reminded himself. Yuhao and Tang San were two peas in a pod.

Yuhao had likely welcomed Tang San's excuse; it provided the perfect way to avoid accountability. As a self-proclaimed "emotionally oblivious" guy, he used his tragic backstory to toy with women's emotions, only to turn around and claim innocence when things went too far. Qian Ran doubted Yuhao ever felt guilty about Qiu'er's death—he probably forgot all about her by the next day.

He could recall how Tang San had spent so long grieving for Xiao Wu's loss, only finding peace once she was resurrected.

And if Yuhao had somehow survived his trials in the Great Star Dou Forest, Qian Ran would make sure he faced his comeuppance.

Thinking of it all made his blood boil.

Qiu'er and Tangerine's tragic endings had always felt like unfinished business. Both girls had fallen because of Yuhao's supposed obliviousness to love, leading them down paths they could never return from. Tangerine had been with him numerous times—she'd even pretended to be asleep in the infirmary, lost in thought, or drifting off during their moments together.

To get away with all that and face no consequences—seriously?

Their closeness was a long-standing matter; whether feigning sleep or staring blankly, he'd found ways to avoid responsibility. Qian Ran often wondered if Yuhao was actually as innocent as he pretended. Maybe he was the ultimate lech, held back only by a lack of guts? After Tang San showed up, it seemed like he took even less initiative and became an "innocent bystander," though perhaps he was merely enjoying the attention without having to act on it.

Even Tang San didn't play around like that.

Despite all his manipulation, Tang San had at least remained faithful to Xiao Wu.

But with Qian Ran around, things would be different.
